I duff my heart for Oponks,
a great salute to a true hero smiley

my regards to every other great 'threados' Kuwena et al wink

Well I wonder how God works.
I've been in Jos, overseeing a project for my comp. for about three weeks
and it has been the most enjoyable part of my working
experience.

It has been a cushioning effect to the NLNG dissapointment. (am still hoping for last gap miracles)
It would have been harrowing  shocked to receive this kind of news in Lagos while going
through all those stress.
Well am not hiding the fact that there are down times but am really grateful to God
for lil' mercies.

This NLNG experience sometimes reminds me of the last 3 years of primary school.
everyone knows that prize giving is always at 3rd term and the recipients are always the
best three student in each class.
Somehow, someway I managed to make the top three in every term for pry 3,4 and 5 and the top three for my set in the common entrance exam but never top three in third terms.
That meant I was eligible for prizes for every term that wasn't third term and dissapointingly never made it to
the podium to receive a prize.
I left primary school feeling like an 'almost there' kind of person but secondary school was able to wipe that out.

I pray NLNG will not bring back such impressions because the truth is, its a trying time for all those not picked
(NLNG made me easily empathize with the three Lions - English National team - so close, yet they blew it, thats a topic for another day).
But one thing God can teach us (am not all the time into those 'its the will of God' thing - sometimes dissapointments might have been ochestrated by God and sometimes its due to our own failures but God is always a master of making the best of every situation, if we let Him) is that the highlight of a true giant is the ability to fall and rise again.

one of my favorite portion of scripture is Job 14 v 7 - 9

Job 14:7  For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Job 14:8  Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
Job 14:9  Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

For those who didnt make the cut, look up and see that the land ahead is indeed very green. cheesy
Water is scenting again (bggroup and schlum should or will soon be recruiting), its time to bud and fulfill
your destinies, your potentials cheesy

The Yorubas will say 'no matter how thick the forest is, the bird must always fly'
Spread your wings men and brethren, its time to fly wink

Hey, PGM (Praise God Man)
You don enter already.
At least you didnt barge into any wall or miss a door while trying to
get into the hospital or clinic, so your sight couldn't have been that bad.

Let me say it this way, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye
of a needle than for you NOT to be employed by NLNG
at this stage. Insha Jesus.

Whats up with this ppl sef?

why all this Hide and seek that has stretched for over a year.

Its not about losing faith but I wish they should just come out straight about who's in and who's not and what else they have up their sleeves.

If all employers of labour were like this, then there will be no young graduate left in Naija.

I knew a friend that sat for exxonmobil's FIRST stage/test after NLNG's LAST stage/ assessment center and the guy has been a staff of mobil for about two weeks now. Its really funny.

For all those still waitin, keep your head up as you'v been doin for over a year. Whatever happens, you're still the best.

And for those in the 9th heavens, accept my hearty congratulations. Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when desire comes, it is a tree of Life. Its indeed your season.

What's Your Opinion

am in a bit of a crossroad huh and I would really
'preciate your opinion.
Actually am holdin down a job as a programmer while I wait for
the mighty NLNG to call me up, but the issue is that I live so
far away from work that I usually spend more than 5 hrs on the road
evryday and its somehow affecting my work and the stress is obvious,
My MD has been talking of givin me a
loan for accomodation for some time but I'v been quiet about it cos I
blv I'l be in bonny b4 the end of this year. but things got to a head on
last friday when my immediate boss instructed me to apply for the loan this week.
The issue is this, if not for NLNG, i would hav jumpd at the offer (who no like money?)
but since I blv NLNG will be calling me up (talk about faith) very soon, I really
dont want to get into any stuff that would link me more intricately wit the company.
And I also dont want to tel anybody over here about my NLNG ambitions until
I get a formal invitation.
So holla me guys, if you were in my shoes what will you do?

Hey! more props to the guy who posted that stuff on the five rules of work.
(can't remember if it was thought or Uche)
It was actually the kind of kick I needed after I started getting tired of my
current programmin Job.
Its a real motivational piece.

Have you heard of the PTDF master's scholarship, For those interested,
check at either the education or scholarship board of your state.

Heave a Praya for Nigeria

Hi landers, Well, we are once again in the notorious 'mber'
months and I pray God keeps us all
It seems like death, which actually kept a low profile
earlier in the year, decided to shock us a bit in the last
few days.
First, it was the case of Honorable Safana and then the
Unlucky (I mean Lucky) Dube tragedy on Friday. I thought
that was the end until I heard of Yomi Tella's death on saturday
and I was like 'What's Gwan?'.
Well I guess we just have to be prayerful and keep thanking
God for little mercies.
Anyway You sometimes keep wonderin what kind of mind death has,
with men like Adedibu, The Mbas (chris and Andy), Alao-Akala
and even Osama Bin laden still around,
How hin dey take choose sef?

wetin happen yes2day is enough lesson for us all.
If our honourables in the lower house are tryin to outdo
Sam Peters, I dont think we should toe their steps, we are
still too young.
All the best, and expect the good news soon.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 6:29pm On Oct 08, 2007
Well, I guess I should inspire u guys a bit with these words
about REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS.
indeed many of us(if not all) hav prayed seriuosly about this NLNG recruitment
but the reality is that those guys are just goin to pick 70/80 out of the 500 (or is it 220?)
still in the race. the ques now is: can God answer evryone's prayer in this circumstance?
the answer? Yes he can but in ways different from what we expect.
the popular isaiah 40v31 says: they that wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary
and they shall walk and not faint.
well those are the three ways God usually answers prayers

1. We sometimes mount up with wings as eagles, have you ever seen an eagle catch a prey (probably
a fish) ? It moves at a blinding pace. Sometimes answers to prayers are that fast and direct and its the stuff most testimonies in church are made of. but there are other ways.

2. we run and not grow weary, there are sometimes God gives us the strength to run through
challenges until we overcome them, the situation does not change imediately nor is the answer
that fast, sometimes it might even take years. Have u ever seen someone fightin to overcome an
addiction, couples who have to wait for years to have a baby. Well, for some the NLNG employment
will be that kind of story.

3. and finally we walk and not faint, its one of the most beautiful ways God answers prayers.
The situation does not always change but WE DO. Its always not easy to recognize the blessins
in this circumstances but they are by far the most precious. The painful truth is that not all
the remainin candidate will be called up but most of us would have learnt valuable lessons
in persistence, hope and other great virtues, and what about the people and places
that would have crossed our paths through this process.
No matter what happens, God is always in control and when he does not
answer our prayers exactly the way we want, it is because he has something far better in stock
for us.
So cheer up and keep the FAITH.

Which way
Hey NLNG threados, what's up?
I duff my hat (and remove my shoes) to the prolific guys on this
thread, the kuwenas, adrians and oponks of this world, I can reccomend
you for the top 70 (or is it 80?) based solely on your contributions
to this thread. You guys should consider floatin a soft sell magazine,
your turnover per month might be as much as NLNG can to offer.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 1:45pm On Oct 05, 2007
Well Sorry for just bursting into this thread like a Lagos danfo driver trying to change lanes but bros I culdnt help it.
Just got a lil gist
I was at the last feast/interview called NLNG assessment center.
Actually my job is quite hectic , so I really  dont have time to bother about the NLNG thing during the daytime.
So it didnt really come as a surprise when NLNG thoughts paid me a visit in my dreams, and trust dreams it was really awkward.
Well what happend (in the dream) was that we were at a setting that looked much like the assessment centre but more jovial this time around and I somehow knew (the way you always know things in dreams) that it was connected wit NLNG abd some of their staff were even there.
Anyway while movin around the hall, I came to a table and lo and behold, somebody carelessly 4got our assessments scores on the table, well I smartly tried to quickly check 4 ma scores.
In the 1st score I saw, wel I had a relatively high mark, one invigilator scored me 80% and the other 85%, it was a bar chart thing and my bar just towered above that of those around me but that was as good as it got.
the score for the nxt assesment i checkd didnt look too splendid, I think i had 25% from one inviligator and 50% from the second and I had a feelin that it was the scores for the personality interview. It was really funny, while trying to check the third assesment score, I saw one NLNG staff approachin so I did a Ben Johnson. and that was it.
Anyway, On a motivational note, I'll like to say keep the faith guys, God is still on the throne and is plans for our lives still dey tight.
And for those who might be curious about checkin their test scores, just drop ur name and state of origin on this thread, I'l try my best to go back to that same dream one of these days and check it up for u without being caught grin
