Abeg, was martins injured or
did he take vogts wife?
why didnt vogts bring him in later in the game.
Am not saying he is a mesiah but then his pace could have troubled the scanty Ghanian defence.

How could we have failed to beat a Ghanian team that had been left for dead? how? somebody tell me?
How many people know that the last time we failed to make the semis at a nation's cup was 1982?
there are some people on this thread who were not born then. na wa o huh

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 4:16pm On Jan 28, 2008
Young Kali,
just to reiterate what others have said, try ur best to get a 2.1
and in case you dont make it, cos u'r soundin pessimistic,
I gues there are two other options
its either you go for masters in Jand, cos its like there's a new fixation
for masters abroad especially UK and US.
the other option is to just go right out and start your own SME.
Nobody will bother even if you didn't make a pass and what's
more Yar'adua will support you, just like his predecessor
supported Dangote

On a more serious note its not that bad,
you can still get a good/great job
with a 2.2. its just that it may be more difficult than when
you have a better result

'bout your question, well, I didnt school in UJ
I served there and I am presently handling a project for
my company here.
For now you can say I work at UJ.
its a pity your sister just finished, its a small world, isnt it.
wish u the best.

Thanx Kuwena for the correction,
the requirement NLNG didn't add was an age limit.
I seem to be gettin older these days
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 8:35pm On Jan 27, 2008
ALL HAIL THE EAGLES

This is in no way intended to be a satirical piece

but a true assesment of reality.

For me, I felt the eagles (as from today remove the Super) of Naija for the

first time in a long while really payed their hearts out against Mali. The only problem

was that they met more than their match. You cannot begrudge those guys.

agreed, the attack and defence was out of sorts but they really threw everything in, including the kitchen sink.

The issue is that we expect our team to 'always' be the best, which cannot always be so.

On monday, we played probably 'the best team in africa' according to Berti Vogts but on

Friday I guess he must have realised, we were playing probably 'the best side in the world'.

Our dissapointments have made us fail to realise the obvious, the Nigerian eagles were

good but the malian eagles were simply world class. It is a priviledge that we could even

play a draw against them. If they can keep their head up they will surely get to the final.

I mean, looking at the game, their was simply no comparison,

the two Nigerian strikers (Obafemi and Yakubu) could not measure up to one Kanoute.

Seydou Keita showed that the six years experience between Nigeria '99 where he was voted

the BEST PLAYER of the tournament and Holland '05 where Mikel was voted 2ND best, really mattered.

John Obi tried but he was simply outclassed.

Trying to place Olofinjana beside Mammodou Diarra is pointless, its like comparing a meter to a mile.

Tell me what did you expect, when a team has a midfield and attack that comprised of

Dramane Traore, Mimo Sissoko, Diarra, Keita, Sidibe and Kanoute and with some other fire power

waiting on the bench? Abeg the Eagles tried Jare, its a classic case of 'water passing garri'.

Take hearts soccer faithful, Angola 2010 is not too far away, though some of us would have gotten married

by then.

Anyway for the die hards, technically speaking, Nigeria is not out yet, as they say, 'the opera aint over until

the fat lady sings' , I agree with you but I'll rather watch a game of Langer than sit down for the last round of group matches

hoping naija will qualify.

see you tommorow
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 1:58pm On Jan 25, 2008
Hey! how far? long time fellas

Sorry for being away for so long.

Congrats to the UK peeps

Am havin my own UK here in Jos, men its really cold here too

I sleep with gloves, socks, head warmers, blankets and all.

Hey young Kali,

Funny enough NLNG did not restrict applications to only first class and 2.1

2.2's also took part in the recruitment process, but that's an exception rather than rule.

most big players will always ask for at least a 2.1

do everything possible on this earth (and even seek help above) to at least make an upper.

by the way where do u study? I dont think have heard of Gas engr. in any naija univ.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 2:44pm On Dec 13, 2007
Thanks Opoks for your pevious thread,

it had a refreshing effect

Sincerely, there have been a few occassion when I battled with the question 'what went wrong at nlng assessment',

actually, before August this year I had the enviable record of never having failed at any apptitude test, interview, application or what have you. I had always been successful until the latter part of this year and the deluge came.

Unsuccessful at shell aptitude test
Had my chevening application rejected
Failed CBN test.
and finally dropped by NLNG.

It was a bit difficult coming to terms with all these dissapointments within a short span of time.

but I guess your insight on what might have happened at nlng really came at an opportune time and had a soothing effect.

Your words took me back to some memorable verses in the book of proverbs

Pro 18:4  The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Pro 16:24  Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Pro 15:23  A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Pro 12:25  Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Pro 25:11  A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Keep it up Opokonwa, and God bless you.

Do I need a nail and hammer to ram it into your head that pages on the thread

opokonwa link=topic=48041.msg1761735#msg1761735 :
Well, a re-union is always a welcome idea.

The constraint is usually the time and appropriate logistics to suit each person.

We all know we residents of Lagos are constrained by time; movement from one part of the town to another is not easy, almost everyone is busy all week round, the little time you have to yourself, you are also busy chasing many non-office deadlines.

Re-union is a welcome idea but I suggest the two, three, four or less sporadic re-unions that may depend on whom and whom is available at any particular time; Because Opoks! won't always be available.

But as much as we can, let us make meeting one another and fostering relationships a priority.
Well Said

Your rare combination of wits and intelligence just shows that NLNG has missed a gem

and you are interested,
I'll give you the gist free, for being the first buddy to

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 5:07pm On Dec 05, 2007
Well lest I forget,

Just make sure that text contains the pin numbers of recharge card
worth N6000.00. (quite a moderate cost for something so well THOUGHT)

Am quite open, so it can be either glo, MTN or Celtel Recharge.
(if u send MTEL, you are on your own). Just make sure you specify
the network in the txtmsg.

actually am charging 5K for the idea, the remaining 1K is
for me to call you back, because it might take a while explaining and digesting. wink

In case you didnt get it earlier, the total cost in words is
Six thousand naira only. smiley ( as they say in banks).

And for those that might try to play smart,
I'll test and load the credit to confirm the authenticity before
calling you back. wink

And you gats to act fast, anything from Jan next year.
The cost go double shocked
No talk say I no tell you O.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Way Nlng? by pak: 4:52pm On Dec 05, 2007
My fingers just got itchier undecided

For those curious about thought's plan that someone actually turned down NLNG for,
No more worries, I actually hav the full gist about the idea. smiley

infact I have started implementing the biz plan.
Its just that C.C. Nwana and her crew didnt give me the priviledge of getting an
offer and then turning it down.
(or maybe they did angry, Yeah they did. I am actually the friend that @thought was talking bout) grin

So am now doing the said runs and its so cool that am earning what NLNG pays monthly in a day. wink cheesy grin
and whats more, I am my own boss. Its really an unbeatable idea. cool

The only reason why am offering to share my Pot of gold with you is that
I love you guys, I really love you guys on this thread. kiss

If you want to get the load down (especially those that got the NLNG offer) and move to the better life
all you need to do is send me a text and I will call your number and tell you everything
you need to know about this life changing well THOUGHT idea.
