I have watched Larry King Live today, and the American experts are unanimous that their security agencies clearly messed up. The CIA and FBI do not share information which each other due to some childish rivalry between them. At the end of the day hundreds of people's lives were put at risk. Information about this Nigerian boy was presented to them on a platter of gold but was mismanaged. This guy got on the plane with a one-way ticket and no luggage. This is clearly suspicious, and an alert CIA should have been able monitor him and nip the attempted bombing in the bud. We are talking about the mighty American CIA here and not the Nigerian SSS. The American security agencies really goofed. |
SO the Maxima actually competes with the Avalon? I was wondering why they are all V6. Thanks Le Moor. |
I just can't help wondering why the Toyota Camry is so much more coveted by Nigerians over the Nissan Maxima, even though the latter has similar specs. Even in Nairaland, it is rare for a dealer to offer a Maxima for sale. I drive a Camry actually and I see some Maximas on the road, and I think they look cool and move smoothly. Anybody who has experienced the Maxima please share with us. |
Amazing how guys respond to threads without reading through the earlier posts. |
@Friendl, it's not a converted car, all is well now |
mr nice guy,ow much will a nissan almera cost,i will prefer an automatic? |
Thanks guys for your contributions. I had another wheel balancing and alignment done today. The guy who did the job really knows his stuff. He even opened up my steering wheel and made some adjustments. Did a test run and all was well. No more shaking. Problem solved. ![]() |
@Kx, my tyres can't have expired yet. They were manufactured in 2008. @Adeyemik, thanks for the info about the digital wheel balancing and alignment. I will ask around about it. |
@redsun, 100 km/hr is no big deal. My personal speed limit is 120. I know folks who do 160 on the highway regularly, so thats out of the way. Did the wheel balancing and alignment today and tested the car at 100km/hr on a straight road this evening near where I live and the vibration was gone. The only problem now is that the steering wheel has to be turned and kept a bit slightly to the right for the car to remain in a straight line. The part of town where the job is a crowded part of Port Hrcourt (Diobu) which did not make it possible for a thorough test to be carried out this morning. I will have to take it back for this to be fixed. Thanks guys for your contributions. ![]() |
@skyranger. For the upteenth time, MY TIRES WERE BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN APRIL!!! |
Tyres are in excellent condition. Wheel balancing and alignment done. High Speed test to be carried out ASAP. |
I replaced all 4 tyres in April with brand new ones, a month after I bought the car and did the wheel balancing and alignment. After that, there was no vibration, and at high speeds on smooth roads, it was pure gliding. Since then I have had 3 punctures, you know how it is. This is 8 months since I did the wheel balancing. I just did all that today again but I have not had the opportunity to test run the car. As soon as I have done the test I will confirm whether the problem has been solved. |
I've done the wheel balancing and alignment this morning. I will test it properly on the way home this evening and report to y'all whether it was successful. By the way, it cost N2500. ![]() |
Thanks guys. I think I'll go for wheel balancing and alignment first. Over a couple of months, I replaced 3 flat tyres and I recently replaced the brake pads. This might be the cause. |
I have done that, but it persists. |
The steering wheel of my 99 Camry vibrates at about 100 km/h. Experts in the house, what could be the matter. It used to move smoothly at high speeds months ago. Your advice is welcome before I take it to the mechanic. |
Thanks a mil, Sienna. I recently replaced the spark plugs on my '99 Camry V6 which I bought 8 months ago. I had them changed because I discovered the car was starting at very low rpm, making me have to rev the engine so it didn't go off. After the replacement of the plugs the car is now faster, making me think that probably not all the cylinders were working previously. |
Experts in the house, please enlighten us on how spark plugs affect the performance of a car engine. Is it possible to start and run a car with only some of the spark plugs working? |
Do you have anything against African beauty? I suggest you make your drawings more Black. Your drawings are glorifying white women. Don't get me wrong, you are talented alright, but use it to promote your race. Cheers. |

It's very convenient. It's my favourite browser. |
How can we even verify the amount of power already generated? Who has gone to measure it?We simply ''believe'' whatever amount of megawatts they say they have generated. These guys keep telling us lies, and we Nigerians with our fish brains keep believing and hoping for the best. There is simply no end to the government's lies and deceit. |
I got thinking about the huge amount of aluminium cans that we throw away and I wondered how much it would cost to establish an aluminium recycling plant. Anybody with useful info on this? |
people will believe anything, lol |
@anshi, of course no reasonable person who can conveniently afford a brand new car would opt for a used one. anybody who buys a used car is taking a risk, but what is life without risks anyway? |
@texbiano, the spray is called Max Clean and you should be able to find it at any of those areas where spare parts dealers are concentrated. cheers |
oga pannyman were can i get this miracle chemical spray? i need em for my interior leather seats too. holla @ hancock, the "miracle spray" is called Max Clean. when I bought my car the dashboard and steering wheel looked quite dirty. There was this embarrassing stain on the dashboard. The car had been brought to Port Harcourt from Lagos by the dealer who happens to be a neighbour so I did not wanna make much of a fuss. When I went to buy my tyres I met this guy who pressed this spray on me and went ahead to use it without my permission and it worked like magic. Apart from the tyres, battery and bulbs I also replaced all the brake pads. All in all I'm glad I bought this '99 Camry. |
@190, what make and model is the car? |
And oh, it's a V6 lol |
We all would love to own brand new cars, but we are compelled to make do with the used ones from across the seas. I recently - in march- bought a '99 Camry and so far it's behaving fine. Apart from fueling and regular service I have only had to spend money on the following: 1. Four brand new tyres 2. A new battery 3. Removal of stains from the interior using some miracle chemical spray some Ibo boys introduced to me when I went to buy the tyres. lol 4. Headlamp bulbs That's about it. please share your experience with the house, we can learn from each other's experience ![]() |
Hi Reggie, I believe everybody has the right to choose the kind off people they want to hang out with. Don't mind what some peeps here are saying. If you dont want to attract the wrong kind of men, then you should interact with them in a way that does not suggest that you are somewhat available or within their grasp. |
I bet some of these poor folks with many do not know the relationship between sex and pregnancy, they will just tell you that children are from God |
