agaugust: 1. Where does it say that? DICON owns and runs the Bauchi plant and Nigerian government owns DICON, even the Steyr company that was involved in the contract is Steyr Nigeria Limited. You cannot stop lying, can you?
2. South Africa builds NO TANKS ! That photo is imported British Centurion tanks that you upgraded to Olifant by adding new body armour, the tracks are still the same British centurion tank tacks you liar !!!!!
Show us South African industry made TRACKED APC, AFV, MORTAR CARRIER, COMMAND POST, AMBULANCE....show us, like we have shown you made in Nigeria versions !!!
We bëat you completely on this .
1. It says in your link that they were set up and owned by foriegn companies. Do you want me to post it?
Why would we want to build something we dont use? Why are you bragging about things a foreign company built in Nigeria 30 years ago?
You beat us?

agaugust: Your retärded source ranks Nigér Republiqùe that has NO SINGLE interceptor jet as a ore powerful military than Sudan the flies a dozen MiG-29 air superiority jets with BVR missiles.
South Africans are born fools .
Because that is not the only thing that is considered.... it is a consideration of ALL FACTORS that leads to the ranking
agaugust: A standard navy has different types of vessels for various roles....warships and patrol ships OPV,MPV,IPV.
Nigerian navy is adding 100 brand new vessels from 2016 January to March.
“The NN has ordered for 30 inshore patrol boats from indigenous manufacturer in the first instance to enhance operational effectiveness and promote local content development. About 70 more from the manufacturer and from Sri Lanka as well as other countries will hopefully join the fleet before the end of the first quarter of 2016".
agaugust: Nigerian navy has about 500 vessels in total.
400 as at 2015 and 500 as at 2016. Extra 100 new vessels purchased 2016.
It is NOT a 2016 report, it does not reflect the 100 new naval IPVs purchased by NN from Nigerian ship builders and Sri Lanka. It does not even count our 52 Palmaria SPHA it records only 25 from the 1980s. Your source os obsolete and full of wrong data.

Yes, Nigerian navy is the largest in Africa , we have about 400 previous and 100 new 2016 additional procuremnt vessels of various sizes rocking the seas of Africa. .
There is no evidence to support the fact that you have 500 "vessles"
You have lots of BOATS and no where near 500 of them
africaken: sudan was given 2 billion dollars by saudi and UAE when they joined their coalition,it was in need of foreign currency due to the sanctions imposed by USA
Its gunna be funny when all the Saudi money dries up at the end of this year and all these countris get stuck with gear they cannot afford to operate
agaugust: Obsolete data obsolete source of many years ago. This year alone Nigerian navy bought 30 brand new high speed IFVs from Sri Lanka, 30 nee vessels in one day. NN anti-piracy fleet got about 300 small and medium vessels from 2008 to 2014. All these facts have been posted here repeatedly no need to go back.
Henry240: The crisis in burundi requires a political solution. More guns and bullets, especially at this stage would not solve the problem. All avenues for dialogue should have been exhausted before troops are sent in.
On a military stance, the A.U force would have suffered a catastrophic defeat in Burundi. It would have been so embarrassing.
Dialogue can only go so far - and dialogue only solidifies the unjust position of an illegal government.
To say that the best the AU can offer would be defeated by a Burundian army that is more militia than regular and that is riven with ethnic strife is, in my opinion, incorrect.
Henry240: There is nothing deeply disappointing about more conflict. Besides let's not kid ourselves, the 5,000 strong A.U forces to be sent would have suffered significant losses against the Burundian army.
The only example would have been a embarrassing defeat of a peace enforcement force.
Take a look at the Burundian army, it lacks armor and heavy weapons as well as air assets.
The AU brigades would have cut through them like a hot knife through butter, Rooivalk/Hinds and Gripen/Su30/Mig 29s would have had a feild day, a week long bombardment followed up by high-mobility formations attacking on multiple axises of advance and they would not stand a chance.
Remeber, the UN FIB of only 3k men, without fast jets or heavy armor and IFV's and no real heavy guns wiped out the M23 (who were better armed and had decades of combat experience) with the loss of less than 5 K.I.A and about 10 W.I.A
And then there is the fact that we just spent BILLIONS on the ASF and ACRIC and the total force ammounts to some 30 000 men, meaning we have a defacto numerical advantage as well. What is the point of the ASF if we are to afraid to use it?
Furthermore, the AU has a prima facie case for intervention under Article 5 of the UN Charter - considering the multidude of evidence of mass rapes, mass graves and ethnic genocide.
Decisive military defeat of the Burundians would be beyond question, the only real risk revolves around occupation and the ability of the Police units attached to the ASF to quell civil unrest.
lionel4power: Israeli high command will be bordered right now
Well, Isreal is getting the F35i
And they operate the F15E "Strike Eagle" which some argue to be on par with the Rafael and Eurofighter and certainly superior to the Su-30/35 (See: Singapore Trials)
Anyway, Rafael is a fvcking beast and I am very jelly of Egypt.
FYI: :PIC 2 is Rafael with Storm-Shadow munitions which Egypt currently has
How NAF Proved South Africans Are Mëntally Backward

While envy choked South Africans whose SAAF has ZERO combat experince on their current Gripen jets and Hawk jets, were busy posting outdated May 2015 reports claiming NAF has only 7 operational aircraft, the Nigerian air force was busy flying over 100 aircraft rocking the air of North East war theatre the size of Scotland.
What the half envy suffocating South Africans did not think of was that after flying thousands of air combat sorties from January to May 2015, the majority of NAF fleet went on scheduled maintenance and had returned back to service in August 2015.
" In a renewed drive to crush the fighting will of the Boko Haram terrorist group, the Nigerian Air Force says it has deployed additional combat platforms to North East Nigeria in support of the ongoing counter-insurgency operation codenamed ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’.
The spokesperson for the Air Force, Dele Alonge, an Air Commodore, said in a statement Thursday that the new deployment came on the heel of the recent visit of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar to the operational areas.
The newly deployed platforms, according to Mr. Alonge, include the F-7Ni fighter aircraft, Mi-24/35 attack helicopters, Agusta 109 LUH, Supa Puma Combat Support helicopter and ATR-42 surveillance aircraft, which hitherto had been away for scheduled maintenance. "
This is one of the reasons why we say virtually every South African is born mëntälly diminished by mother nature....they CANNOT think like other smart Africans, even half illiterate Somalians take over commerce on their Soweto streets while the Southies wait for free food for lazy men, coming from ANC cooking pot.
agaugust: We have two stealth P18N ships of the Type 056 light frigate family, if war comes we can arm them with missiles in a few days, we already have 100% technology transfer on the stealth ships, they are already armed as at today with 20mm and 76mm guns plus anti-missile decoys, we just add missiles thats all remaining.
1. Do you make the guns on your 1980s Ratel IFV ? Do you make the rockets on your Rooivalk?
2. Project Biro is dead like Mandela. The video clearly says agreement was signed for Nigerian navy to help Indian navy with maritime intelligence on the Atlantic ocean......also says Nigerian navy will soon deploy SEA DRONES !!!
The Indians were wise enough to avoid long term maritime operational agreement with South African navy because they know your navy is useless in current types of global sea threats.
Exercises? The video clearly says Indian navy has invited Nigerian navy special forces for joint training and our deals will be regular and ling term with them, that's why we signed legal documents.....but South African navy was invited to India by ORDINARY email/text message/one minute phone call .
1. Prove that they can be fitted with missiles "in a couple of days" 1a. Prove they came with missile decoys
2. You said we dont make IFVs- you were wrong
3. Project Biro is operating as planned. The video says no such thing. SAN is currently evaluating drones as well.
So the agreement to have ISAMBAR exercises every year is not a long term agreement?
agaugust: DICON official website clearly says it has production plant for producing the tracked 4KAFA Styer APC with capacity to produce 300 vehicles per year. DICON and Styer Nigeria Limited produced 250 of mixed variants in Bauchi for Nigerian army including heavy machine gun, mortar carrier, command post, and ambulance types.
Many sources confirm it, and even researchers have written books on the productions, nobody in his right mind disputes it except a liar of a man CHOKED WITH ENVY, its all common knowledge since the 1980s when production of the famous high performance tracked vehicle started and was first in Africa.
"Systems currently under production include armoured personnel carriers (Steyr) at the Steyr plant in Bauchi."
Nigerian local defence industry produces tracked armoured vehicles in FOUR VARIANTS, heavy machine gun, mortar carrier, command post, and ambulance. South Africa does NOT and CANNOT produce tracked armoured vehicles.
1. It says in your book that the plants are owned and run by foreign companies
2. South Africa cannot produce tracked armored vehicles? Pic realted, we built a Main Battle Tank - not some crumby lightly armored obsolete APC built by foreigeners
agaugust: If people can avoid discussing with South Africans, there will be focus and productivity on this thread. Everybody please take note and help this forum. Thanks.
This coming from one of the least "productive" members of the group who is personally responsible for the last 3 out of 4 major derailments?
Why would you post something that is clearly designed to create conflict?
Why would you want to silence dissenting opinions?
This is not beegeagles blog - this is not an echo-chamber of ideas and agreement.
Henry240: This is a proper Air Force, not the useless South-African Air Force with their 9 Gripen pilots.
The Nigerian Air Force has conducted 286 air operations on Boko Haram targets in the last one month, it said on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference in Maiduguri, the Deputy Theatre Commander (Air) of the counter-insurgency operation in the North-East (Operation Lafiya Dole), Air Vice Marshall Isiaka Amao said the air component of the counter- insurgency operation has conducted 286 “operational sorties” against Boko Haram terrorists targets from December 25, 2015 till date.
He explained that this translates to 157,000 Square Kilometres of operational coverage, equivalent “to the total land mass of South Korea, Portugal and Togo.” He said this also translates to “a total of 536 hours 21 minutes were flown by various platforms engaged in the operations, expending 316,637.5 litres of aviation fuel which amounts to N60,376,912, excluding the cost of maintenance and armament expended.”
He said the operations which was aimed at further degrading the terrorist group, also was targeted towards surveillance at locating the abducted Chibok girls and other citizens that may have been abducted by the terrorist group. Amao said successes were recorded as during the operations there was destruction of newly discovered Boko Haram leadership hideouts, enclaves, logistics support bases and infrastructure.
He insisted that this led to the terrorist group fleeing Sambisa Forest to near locations due to aerial bombardment and has denied them the opportunity to regroup.
He said that during one of the air strikes on Christmas Day in Sambisa Forest, the leadership meeting of the insurgency group was disrupted and over 15 persons were killed. He disclosed that apart from Sambisa Forest, air strikes have been conducted on other hideouts including Gawa, Walasa, Kote, Alagarno, Talala, Alafa North, Yele, Arra, Dure, Ajigin, Takwalla and Kumshe.
He said close battlefield air interdiction and close air support were provided for Nigerian troops at Gadzama and Ngwalimiri
2. So your navy does not buy for maritime security in peacetime and project Biro remains on a dust gathering piece of paper? Indian navy is now depending on Nigerian navy for help with maritime security
Indian navy bypassed South Africa, they sailed Indian ocean on your coastline and sailed to far up to Atlantic ocean to sign maritime security deal with Nigerian navy because South African submarines and warships are USELESS in peace time.
Argue like a man Patches, stop telling open lies and denying proved facts.
Since you say Nigeria does not produce what DICON, NACE, AFIT, PROFORCE etc have been proved to produce, it is quite clear that South Africa does NOT produce all those things you listed. Your list is false. You are an importing nation, you buy weapons and equipment irrationally.
SPECIAL VEHICLE PLANT (SVP) PROJECT
On 22nd January 1979 the Federal Government signed an agreement with Steyr Daimler Puch AG (Defence Division) of Austria. The agreement provides for the construction of Factory Building in Bauchi complete with all utilities, roads, rails and furniture for the production of Armoured Personnel carriers (APC).
The Factory was designed to assemble in 8 hours days shift the following, 300 units/yr 2 axles (4x4) Pinzgauer, 1 ton payload, 200 units/yrs 3 axles (6x) Pinzgauer; 1.5 ton payload, 140 units/yr Armoured Personnel Carriers; 45 unit/yr Command vehicles (APC); 10 units/yr Motor Carriers (ACP) and 5 units/yr Ambulances (APC). Factory buildings, Utilities, Roads, workshop equipment have all been completed and commissioned since 1982.
The SVP buildings are currently being utilized by the Nigerian Army for the maintenance and rehabilitation of Armoured fighting vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers under a contractual arrangement. Hopefully when the contract is completed the Factory would be handed back to DICON."
Nigeria produces in Bauchi city DICON plant, this sand and mud mobile TRACKED Armoured Fighting Vehicles, in various configurations, 12.7 mm + 7.62 mm two machine guns , 81 mm self propelled mortar carrier, Command Post, Ambulance.
Just because Nigeria produces weapons like this that South Africa dos not produce, is not a reason for immature and senseless denial of truth.
Argue like a man Patches, Argue like men South Africans
.
Read your own citation.
It does not say what you claim
The only refrence to armored vehicles is their refurbishment
agaugust: South Africa does NOT produce any IFV and you have no variants since you dont make them.
Why would Nigeria want a submarine to fight pirates? We buy based on experience in multi-spectrum warfare and threat. There is no navy vs navy war in Africa. South Africa buys irrationally. .
1. Ratel is not an IFV?
2. So your navy does not not buy for maritime warfare but instead for coast-guard duties?
agaugust: Yes, Nigerian produced the 4K 4FA tracked armoured vehicle. Very good armour with frontal protection against 20mm cannon shells.
We produced about 250 units in Bauchi city, including the APC variant, 81mm mortar carrier variant, and command post variant, armoured recovery vehicle, and ambulance.
Usually armed with one 12.7mm heavy machine gun and one 7.62mm light machine gun combined.
It's a very capable loose sand and thick mud terrain mobile vehicle.....South African army has NOTHING in it's class .
Nigeria does not produce that vehicle nor do you have those variants
Why would South Africa want a tracked vehicle? Combat in Angola proved wheeled > Tracked
We buy according to our experience in multi-spectrum warfare... nigeria buys irratically
