Henry120: [s]When you South-Africans get butt-hurt, you stay throwing little silly comments about jealousy.
Deal with it, the SAAF is a turd of an excuse for a service.
You have neither provided any evidence or citation to prove that the SAAF has more than 9 Gripen, qualified pilots. None!
I'm not been imaginative, the facts are well documented. The SAAF has a pilot shortage, go cry to Pretoria not on nairaland.
Truly, there actually is nothing to be jealous of the SAAF. Your A109s are mostly grounded than in the air, you fly world war II aircraft for MP duties, you have a Gripen pilot shortage, at-least 12 Gripens are always in storage( or what ever the name you currently have for it), your half-french Helicopter is obsolete, you cannot afford aviation fuel, you SAAF is broke, the SAAF only has 3 operational C-130s, experienced pilots have quit the service because of forced quota, the SAAF is pitifully inexperienced, the SAAF demands it's dead pilot pay for his service flight suit.
The South-African Air force is a joke!! [/s]
In transport the NAF is ahead, Surveillance we are ahead, Combat experience we are ahead, Operational use, we are ahead, Congrats you have a 4 GEN fighter, but it's a fighter without BVR capabilities, so it's fight with NAF's 3.5GEN F-7 is even, And we sure well do not demand families of dead pilots killed in service to pay for flight suits.
Egypt, Algeria and Nigeria are light years ahead of the SAAF. In transport NAF is ahead? SAAF: 9 C130's (5 operational at ant one time) NAF: 3 C-130's Surveilance? Uhhh... Gripen, Hawk and Cessna Agains... 2 ATR's? Combat experience: SAAF - has operated in a contested airspace, has fought against enemy aircraft NAF - has done no such thing Operational use: - define what the hell you are talking about here. If you think the difference between a 4th gen and a 3rd gen is in BVR then you are an utter buffoon. NAF has never been, nor ever will be, on the same level as the SAAF. Simple fact. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:23am On Jun 18, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]NAF has it's edge over Algerian and Egyptian air forces. SAAF is no comparison.
Algerian air force has far far far far less combat experience compared to Nigeria.
Egyptian air force last fought a war over 40 years ago. Current pilots have ZERO experience.
Nigerian air force has flown 6,000 combat sorties in 6 months and fought wars overseas and at home consistently for the past 25 years.
NAF ISTAR beats everybody in Africa by far.
An air force is more than just having more or better jet fighters, there are different kinds of combat air forces are required to be capable of fighting, and constant experience of war is an edge.
NAF is desired by Egypt, they did not even act as if SAAF exists, the Egyptians don't want to be associated with a ZERO tested air force, SAAF[/s] . Experience doesnt mean sh1t when you are trying to compare to more advanced and better trained airforces. NAF is nowhere near the level of the SAAF |

agaugust: NEXT is go rescue Patches, his bones are getting broken trying to help your Sea Spray radar disaster . Last I checked, I was the one who backed up my claims with a citation. When will you do the same? It is clear who the fraud here is! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:21am On Jun 18, 2015 |
Henry120: [s]Buhahahahahahahahahaha........ That's exactly the problem why they have Pilot shortages, and funnily, it isn't even a mock.
They run a 75% - 25% quota system in their Airforce. The Zulu dullards have been incapable of filling their quotas, while most experienced and qualified white officers have left the service to take up jobs overseas or in the Private sector, and the ones who remain and are actually qualified are sent to Helicopter squadrouns.[/s] Empty accusations and meaningless words. Assertations without citations. Classic Henry120 post |

agaugust: [s]Oh no my boy !
I will gladly post proof of ATR-42 radar range 407 km, just that I need you to admit that South Africa needs the help of a Nigerian military researcher to rescue you Southies from the trap of Sea Spray radar in which you have locked yourselves like a mouse in a trap.
Simple.
For Gripen ground search radar range, ask your fellow South African @Milizikazi where he got his 70 km range from, I agree he is right approx[/s] . If you are accusing me of fraud Prove it Post ATR radar model and range specifications |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:20am On Jun 18, 2015 |
Henry120: Have you provided a scrap of evidence that you have more than 9?
The onus is on you to prove that South-Africa has more than the aforementioned number, 9.
With dullards like @Fighterpilot in the SAAF, you be delusional to believe you have more than 9? We have provided evidence that we have 18 aircrew and 52 Hawks pilots (trainees) in 2013 We have provided evidence that at any one time 12 Gripen are operational - in 2013 The obvious conclusion is, 2 years ago, in 2013 we had 12 Gripen pilots. Now, you are making the assertion that we have only 9 pilots - prove it |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:18am On Jun 18, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]I think the SAAF Gripen pilot shortage has to do with lack of capable brains to train, and learn how to fly a 4th generation jet, the white officers have left SANDF and the air force is worst hit by the exit of white SAAF men, the Zulus are born to throw spears around, their brains CANNOT pass a Gripen pilot qualifying exam.
Same kind of problem the Saudis have with Eurfighter Typhoons and they want a less complex jet that their oil filled lazy brains can fly.
The South Africans are even worse, they cannot fly a light jet like the Gripen, Zulu/Xhosa brain is duller than Arab brains, Zulu/Bantu brains are 2nd bottom of the world intelligence ladder, it cannot understand how to fly a 4th generation jet fighter.
They should have bought MiG-21 upgrades from Eastern Europe and upgrade them with Israeli help, Zulu pilots can fly those types easily[/s] . Empty insults. You cant even find enough pilots for your F-7's!! |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:17pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
Henry120: 9 pilots and 9 navigators. It has been proven multiple times. You assertion that we have 9 pilots has never once been proved. There is no scrap of evidence to support your claim. So, if you say it has been proven - prove it to us |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:15pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
Henry120: We don't have a pilot shortage issue, so i don't see how this question is relevant.
SAAF on the other hand has a well documented pilot shortage problem. Prove you dont have a pilot shortage |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:15pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
agaugust: You were the first to start the claim without a source, burden of proof is on you, so prove your claim.
[s]The pit you dug for ATR-42 wrong Sea Spray radar, Patches has fallen inside after trying to pull you out, then you abandoned him there.
You come again with information about F-7 that you claim but cannot prove with sources.....Fraudster ![/s] . Good, so now you confess that YOU MUST POST 400KM RANGE FOR ATR You also confess that YOU MUST POST GRIPEN 75KM GROUND SEARCH RANGE You have killed yourself very elegantly |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:14pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Your source says 2009, but Nigeria did NOT have F-7 jet until 2010.
So how did NAF ground a jet they did not have and also suffered pilots shortage of the jet they did not have in 2009 ?
#Demolished In 1 minute[/s]
. Poor maintenance is a trait in your military - henc why so many of your jets crash. Prove that your F-7's are operational Then prove you have enough pilots for them. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 3:13pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
agaugust: Prove that every air force in this world has "enough" pilots, show us where every air force in the world published reports confirming that they have enough pilots, start form African air forces and go on from there, show us sources. . Answer the question. Prove that you have enough F-7 pilots. We have constant demands from Nigerians to prove how many Gripen pilots we have. Now the shoe is on the other foot. |

Henry120: No evidence Nigeria has a pilot shortage. Argument from ignorance (Latin: argumentum ad ignorantiam), also known as appeal to ignorance (in which ignorance stands for "lack of evidence to the contrary" , is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition is true because it has not yet been proven false (or vice versa). |

Henry120: Yes, you only have 9 Gripen Pilots. post evidence to the contrary.

You want me to help you get the correct radar, LOL, you need Nigerian help, admit it.
If I was the one who posted a wrong radar name, all the ïdiots of South Africa will start screaming.....Mr. Military Resercher...Fake Researcher.....blah blah bubble gibber gibberish !
Now you Patches and Mike are trapped in a fraud case, all other Southies have abandoned you both to sink in your self dug mud pit....the other Southies are avoiding this topic like Ebola. LOL

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 1:18pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
agaugust: When SAAF grounded Augusta's for crashes, was it because of pilots shortage?
NAF NEVER grounded the F-7 after 2 crashes, instead, we called in the PAF for joint maintenance, then technology transfer for mantenance so that NAF engineers took over, then we started joint combat training with Pakistan and that means we began to fly randomly.
There is NO report that ever said NAF has pilot shortages for F-7, so you show me one !
A man who has never been to hospital does not need to be asked when he was discharged form sick bed.
NAF has NEVER had F-7 jet pilots shortages, and the jets were NEVER grounded.
SAAF has many reports in the news for Gripen jets pilots shortage and grounding of aircraft in frozen long term storage . As of 2009, most of its fleets were grounded and its training institutions were constrained with shortages of technical skills such as instructors and institutional facilities. Evidently, the current budgetary allocations to the NAF cannot sustain effective and efficient aircraft maintenance activities. This is due to the constraints in spares acquisition. Lack of funding has been responsible for an inability to preserve aircraft regularly… Aircraft become due for Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) with time, and not by hours flown, because they are most of the time grounded for unserviceability. The reasons for unserviceability are usually traceable to lack of spares occasioned by insufficient funding. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/nigeria/air-force.htm |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 7:23am On Jun 17, 2015 |
agaugust: Nope, the origin of our claim that SAAF has only 9 pilots is not based on photos of flying aircraft, it is based on a published news report. It was when you were denying the news report that we spoke of how many Gripens fly together.
Show us a news report that says NAF has shortage of F-7 jet pilots....show us such a source in this world...or else sharaaaaap . Show us more than 3. F7 in the air There are multiple reports of the poor maintenance in your airforce leading to jets being grounded - how pilots train in jets that don't fly? stillchris: dullard.
i can bet my last cent that you don't even know what it is. just the word "Tactical" amuses you south africans.
If a data link standard in order to provide communication via radio waves or cable used the military to transmit, relay and receive tactical data is not TDL,
then tell me what Nigerian Navy uses to transmit data from the ATR to navan vessels.
Or from naval control stations to naval vessels.
Or from combat areas in maiduguri to DHQ in Abuja
Or from our surveillance platforms to commanders on ground.
I can go on and on on instances it has been used.
You south Africans are just shouting TDL as if it's a technology beyond any nation's reach.
The real fraud is SANDF. No evidence of operational usage of data link. Just on paper
I hope this free education has helped you dumb he-goat. You tell us, name your data-link.Simple "strands" of data between assets are not a organization wide data-link. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:25pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Your tactical data-link has not connected your security forces together and help them defeat local Rhino poachers.
Botswana that is helping you save your Rhinos has no tactical data-link .
So how effective is your data-link in operation, not on paper, what have you achieved with it dealing with a moving target in Kruger park ?[/s]
. Strawman argument detected. SANDF is not deployed on AP duties, never has been, never will be. It only provides support when poaching is from across the border |

stillchris: altgough i doubt the story as reporters will want to make a meal of the whole incidence, what else would you expect.
arresting bashir would have sparked confrontations between both countries. militarily or diplomatic
and many african governments will be against SA on this one because it will amount to discrediting the AU.
your government still doesn't understand International politics You dont understand what happened if you think it was our government that was trying to arrest him It was the people of South Africa who wanted him arrested The people (in this case an NGO of sorts) approached the courts in order to get an interdict against the government to prevent him leaving - an interdict that the courts awarded The government was sitting on the fence - on the one hand the people his arrest - buoyed with a legally binding order to hold him and on the other the AU is fighting to have the ICC discredited. What can you do in such a situation? Fact remains, the people of South Africa have spoken: we will not tolerate war-criminals in our lands. |
