agaugust: [s]Gripen is NOT anything ISTAR, it`s Recce pod NOT an ISTAR pod .....and NO on-board intelligence center-command and control integrated multiple computer systems console existing on a Gripen, all you have is pilot`s cockpit for flying.....Gripen is ZERO ISTAR, the RAF did most of the ISTAR job in Libya with USAF E-2 Hawkeye doing AWACS and NATO jets providing air cover against the half dead Libyan air force that refused to fly, and NATO air to surface missiles doing SEAD on the half dead Libyan defences.
Gripen jet does recce with pod, same way F-7 jet of Bangladesh does recce with pod, and the pod on the Gripen is same as the one for old school Jaguar jets flown by India.
Gripen jet recce.... how many hours endurance? what altitude above enemy air defences? what radar range? how many targets can be tracked at once? which airborne multiple computer console will process thousands of situational data for command-control ?[/s]
Gripen jet = F-7 jet = Jaguar jet = Gripen jet = ZERO ISTAR
. Gripen with Recce pod complies with the definition of ISTAR The "intelligence center-command and control integrated multiple computer systems console" will be on the ground - with info being streamed to it from the Gripen |

agaugust: [s]Actually from Cape Town to Cairo, NO air force has ISTAR power to compare with NAF ATR-42 Surveyor, no close rival !
Egypt and Algeria only have older 1980s Beechcraft for ISTAR, Egypt has E-2 Hawkeye for AWACS, it cannot do real ATR-42`s job.
ALL AFRICA bows to NAF ATR-42 surveyor....mighty surveyor with 407 km radar range , Nigeria is in the big league of world super powers ![/s] . Gripen + Recon pods + Targeting pods = ISTAR that can operate in a contested air-space |

[s]Radar range :
Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 = 407 km
British Royal Air Force Sentinel = 333 km
NAF = NATO super world powers ![/s] . [/size] "because i say so" |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:16am On Jun 14, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Nope !
I NEVER said Sentinel is better, it just has higher specs in aircraft performance, that's what I mean by overall higher specs.
ATR-42 and Sentinel are almost equal, each having it's own advantages. Size and engine gives the Sentinel overall specs advantage in areas of aircraft flight performance NOT the ISTAR mission itself.
NAF ATR-42 has far superior radar range over RAF Sentinel.
Mission :
ATR-42 - Multi-mission land and sea upgrade complete Sentinel - Single-mission land only, plans for upgrade
Endurance :
ATR-42 - 11 hours Sentinel - 14 hours
Speed :
ATR-42 - 518 km/h Sentinel - 918 km/h
Ceiling :
ATR-42 - 8 km Sentinel - 15 km
Radar range :
ATR-42 - 407 km Sentinel - 333 km
Nigerian Air Force = American Air Force & British Air Force in ISTAR power !
South African Air Force = Mozambican Air Force & Rwandan Air Force [/s] . You have said that your AT42 has a radar range of 300km Now it is 400km? lol, this is too funny |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:14am On Jun 14, 2015 |
stillchris: even if the sentinel is better, south africa still doesn't match Nigeria in that category.
if you do... state the platforms... that simple Gripen Kondor-E satelight (an actual military reconnaissance satellite) Thales ground search radars |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 4:09pm On Jun 13, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Each has it's own advantages, ATR-42 is MULTI-MISSION ISTAR for land and sea warfare and that makes it better than the Sentinel until the British complete their upgrade to make the Sentinel do maritime ISTAR like Nigerian ATR-42.[/s]
Sentinel is a more expensive aircraft with overall higher specs, but the ATR-42 does the same job.
[s]Both were tested in Boko Haram war and results were the same in ISTAR data output.
South Africa is 166 years behind Nigeria with your Cucumber shaped Dakota C-47 flying coffin[/s] . So you confirm that the Sentinel is better. |

agaugust: [s]I posted it yesterday, Britain has decided to copy Nigerian ISTAR power by upgrading the RAF Sentinel to become maritime patrol like NAF ATR-42 Surveyor, the world power British air force wants to become multi-mission ISTAR power like Nigeria.
However, British air force has NOT found anything worth copying from the ancient category South African air force that is 166 years behind NAF[/s] . Are you saying that the ATR42 is on the same level as the Sentinel? |

agaugust: Bwahahahaha
Humble pie shoved down your throat again !
Do you see any source that says Nigeria has Automatic Grenade Launchers ? No source, but does Nigeria have it? Yes !
Any proof? PHOTO EVIDENCE !
Smart people know what an AGL looks like, same way smart people know what ELINT dome looks like and it's location.
NAF ATR-42 Surveyor has ELINT dome, PHOTO EVIDENCE proves it, go kiss a frog tonight, it's Friday
I already did...MikeZAR eating humble pie for weekend, it's Friday bashing here
The British Sentinel dome on top of fuselage is NOT radar, it's ELINT SATCOM hardware dome, confirmed by military sources :
"The modifications include a canoe-shaped radome under the forward fuselage to house the radar antenna, a radome on the upper fuselage to house the SATCOM antenna."
http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/astor/
Next time, remember that radars for ISTAR aircraft are under fuselage, not above it like AWACS, MikeCAR Olodo
The Nigerian ATR-42 upgrade put the dome, ELINT dome on top fuselage like the British and Chinese airforce.
South Africa can go try put a dome on their C-47 Dakota and lets see all the 50 year old aluminium aircraft fall into pieces
. Do me a favor, draw arrows towards the domes you are referring to. I want this to be on record for all. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 1:25pm On Jun 12, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Yes ! NAF is equal in ISTAR to USAF, RAF, we are world class !
LOL....LOLZ...My sides South Africans don't know about Multi-Mission ISTAR....too advanced for a Soweto brain
Actually the British air force is now upgrading her own Sentinel ISTAR aircraft to do maritime patrol like Nigerian air force ATR-42.
South Africans know NOTHING about ISTAR, their race and generations have NEVER seen one such aircraft
Let me educate you 50 million Southies in the village nation of ANC. You see, powerful countries like Nigeria, China, Britain, etc do buy ISTAR aircraft for land patrol or maritime patrol initially, then later do upgrade and add the other capacity to get the aircraft to be perfect on land and sea operations, it is called MULT-MISSION ISTAR you South African born fooooools ![/s]
NAF has upgraded our ATR-42 Maritime to now do perfect land ISTAR plus sea ISTAR, upgrade done in Britain.
RAF of Britain is now upgrading their own land ISTAR, the Sentinel, to do maritime ISTAR after Nigeria advanced ahead of them.
"The United Kingdom is to begin the process of upgrading its fleet of Raytheon Sentinel R.1 Airborne Stand-Off Radar (ASTOR) surveillance aircraft to conduct maritime operations in mid-2015, the government disclosed on 24 October. The news that work to upgrade the Sentinel R.1's maritime capabilities will soon begin, the RAF is looking to introduce enhanced capabilities to the surveillance aircraft to turn it into a true multi-mission platform."
http://www.janes.com/article/45057/uk-to-upgrade-sentinel-r-1s-for-maritime-operations
That is why Nigerian ATR-42 became multi-mission ISTAR aircraft perfected for maritime war and land war, that's why NAF wrecked Boko Haram as Nigeria controlled the entire battle-fields the size of Scotland, from the air !
That is how Nigeria will delete the SANDF in battle from 330 km away !
[s]All 50 million South Africans have learnt from a Nigerian free web education classroom again today o !
NAF = USAF =RAF = PLAAF in ISTAR....we play with super powers !
GAME OVER.....See Nigerian air force ISTAR power below [/s] . So you are saying that the ATR42 is just as good as the Bombadier Dash, EC-130H, Boeing OC-135B Open Skies, Boeing RC-135? Ok, citations please, compare the ATR42 to the above in terms of capabilities and numbersHow will Nigeria delet SANDF from 330km away when your ATR42 does not have that range and you have no weapons that extend that far? Dude, you are a complete and utter joke... but now i can say that you are a delusional joke |

agaugust: [s] Complete Olodo, come to Nigeria for FREE EDUCATION, Soweto schools are shiiiiit
That's an ELINT dome for SATCOM, it enables ISTAR aircraft to operate ELINT capability, super electronic intelligence and network capability !

MikeCZAR you fumbled and wobbled by saying the Dome on top of the British Sentinal ISTAR aircraft is a radar !
No, it's a SATCOM ELINT dome you Soweto mugu !
Come into our Nigerian classroom now my boy, let Naija invest into your under-funded brain
"The modifications include a canoe-shaped radome under the forward fuselage to house the radar antenna, a radome on the upper fuselage to house the SATCOM antenna."
http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/astor/
Another example below is from China...
"The GX-8 is believed to be an electronic intelligence (ELINT) gathering platform, mounting four distinctive elongated antennas on its fuselage. It also carries a prominent nose radar and SATCOM dome. At least three GX-8s are known to be in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) North Sea Fleet's 2nd Air Division.
http://www.janes.com/article/44169/japan-intercepts-new-chinese-gx-8-elint-aircraft"
Mike CZAR and his fellow 50 million South Africans NEVER seen ELINT dome in their country's black-white-coloured history
Every South African citizen is eating the humble pie now, South African air force CANNOT afford to buy one ELINT aircraft like Nigeria
Nigerian ISTAR power equals world super power like Britain, China, America, etc . We play in that big league.

PHOTO 2 : Nigeria's air force ISTAR power world class
PHOTO 3 : China's air force ISTAR

agaugust: [s]Britain is no longer at that level now, only South Africa remains 66 years behind Nigeria and Britain in ISTAR....See what Britain uses today....NAF and RAF are in same league....Nigeria is is in same ISTAR class with world super powers ![/s] . 1. Compare capabilities - ATR is vastly inferior 2. Gripen can perform ISTAR roles |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 2:02pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
agaugust: [s]Dedicated ISTAR aircraft is what Nigeria has !
SAAF Gripen carries the same Recce pod made for Jaguar jets, so NAF too cxan claim our 18 Jaguar jets are ISTAR aircraft?
"Easily integrated onto any air platform, the DJRP is a robust, lightweight, low drag structure with a combat proven pedigree on numerous aircraft types including Jaguar, Tornado, Harrier and Hawk and has been selected by the South African Air Force for Gripen"
https://www.thalesgroup.com/en/nited-kingdom/defence/air-group/isr/digital-joint-reconnaissance-pod
Why don't Nigeria use F-7 jets recce pods instead of spending $120 million on ATR-42 aircraft for ISTAR ?
ISTAR aircraft don NOT use tiny Recce pods, they use GIANT SIZE RADOME....see under the belly of NAF ISTAR.....and show me such in SAAF [/s]! . You dont have any recon pods or Jaguars Gripen can be configured for ISTAR - if you dispute that then you need a lesson in the meaning of ISTAR ATR-42 is a high endurance MPA, it hunts pirates and cannot operate in a contested airspace |

MikeCZAR: India's procurement system is messed up.
They slashed the number of Rafales to make funds available for some local rubbi.sh jet.
Denel was banned though the ban is lifted now, Rheinmetall is too now banned. India is a shithole when it comes to military procurement. Its a goddamn mess. Apart from the Brahmos and their indigenous destroyer, literally every other single contract is an aboslute nightmare... and dont even get me started on the Tejas (my face when they develop a delta wing in an era of euro-canards and thrust vectoring) Pak-FA and Arjun are some of the most spectacular fails I have seen in a long time |

F-7 jet carries Recce pod, so F-7 jet = ISTAR aircraft? No.
Show us ISTAR pod in South Africa, NOT a mere Recce pod, show us ISTAR pod . Do you need a lesson in what ISTAR means? This guy thinks ISTAR is some godly platform that none can acsend to. When in reality, its pretty basic stuff... Hell the British did it in WW2 with Mosquito strike-fighters guiding Lancasters onto target over Germany |

agaugust: Gripen showed face for about 30 minutes max endurance, Only after NATO did a SEAD on Libyan air defences that were already crippled by years of military embargo.
ATR-42 does not need to enter enemy airspace, it just flies around loitering on Nigerian air base and it's wizard eyes of a radar can see 330 km away !!!!!
SAAF can only dream while NAF displays ! . Gripen is an ISTAR platform that can operate in a contested airspace. You dont have a simular platform End of story. Also, citation for Gripen 30 min endurance - last time you said that you got humiliated |
