Crime › 13 Year-old-girl Murdered, Kept In Fridge by PaulJohn1(op): 2:55pm On Oct 20, 2012
People are heartless undecided

Lokoja — IF only, 13-year old Yetunde, Racheal Samuel had known what fate had in store for her on 5TH October, she would have changed her mind about staying home and followed her family to the wedding of the day. But life played a fast one on her and kept her in the dark about the evil that lurked at the corner . She had no premonition whatsoever, that on that particular day, she would bid the world goodbye in a gruesome manner.

On that day, the serene town of Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba - East Local Government of Kogi State was thrown into tumoil following the gruesome murder of Yetunde, whose body was deposited inside a medium size freezer after being strangled to death by yet to be identified killers.

Yetunde Rachael Samuel, a JSS 2 student of Oluyori Comprehensive College, Isanlu was killed in the night of October 5th and neatly deposited inside a medium size freezer to create impression that she fell into the freezer and was subsequently jamlocked and frozen to death without any body knowing; which shows that her death was pre-planned and carried out with an ulterior motive.

What has remained a mystery is who actually murdered her and for what. Aside that, the question on the lips of people is why was she the only one left in the house that particular day and why she was hurriedly buried in the cover of the night? Why did the parents or the guardians fail to report her mysterious death to the police before she was committed to mother earth? Only the police or perhaps, the late Yetunde herself could actually reveal who killed her and how she died.

The perpetrators of the henious crime would have gotten away with it if the police had not gotten wind of it. Maybe Yetunde's blood is seeking for justice as no one knows how the Police heard about it.

The state commissioner of Police, Alh Mohammed Musa Katsina who got wind of the dastardly act, suspected foul play, arrested the guardians of the girl and ordered that the corpse be exhumed for a thorough autopsy to confirm whether the girl actually jumped inside the freezer and got frozen or she was killed.

It was a hectic time for our correspondent and detectives led by the deputy commissioner of police, Alh Zannah Mohammed who travelled to the community with a pathologist from Federal Medical Centre to exhume the decompsing corpse for autopsy.

The guardian of the girl who is at the centre of the mysterious death, Mrs Deborah Motunrayo Jaiyeoba claimed that she left the girl who was the daughter of her younger sister at home that Saturday morning for a marriage ceremony along with all her children.

According to her, when she got back from the wedding ceremony and did not see Yetunde, she thought she had gone to play. She said she was thirsty and raced to the deep freezer to get a satchet of water to quench her thirst when she suddenly discovered that Yetunde was stone dead in the freezer and she immediately raised alarm.

Mrs jaiyeoba, a sanitary inspector at the local government claimed Yetunde wanted to clean the deep freezer in her small retail shop when she fell into the deep freezer and must have frozen to death.

Saturday Vanguard also gathered that the father of the desceased was said to have felt indiferrent about the death of her daughter as he hurriedly consented that she should be buried immediately.

Saturday Vanguard's investigation revealed that Yetunde's mother was impregnated at the age of 17 while she was still in secondary school; and after delivery , decided to drop Yetunde at the age of two with her sister and headed to Ilorin for greener pasture where she later got married. However, the autopsy carried out revealed that the late girl was actually killed; maybe, for rituals.

Preliminary doctor's report confirmed that the girl died as result of neorogenic shock secondary to multiple skeletal injuries most likely sustained from blunt force trauma .

The doctor's report also said two of the girl's teeth were removed with some vital parts while the entire head region was battered with blunt instrument.

Speaking with Saturday Vanguard, the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Kastina said the whole episode was a case of culpable homicide. He said the innocent girl was brutally murdered but expressed shock that the biological father of the girl did not show concern but instead, he brought a letter to his office along with somebody who claimed to be a judicial officer that the case be withdrawn.

The CP said when he interrogated the father, he could not even read nor comprehend the contents of the letter which gave suspicion that some people were behind the murder. He therefore called on members of the public to be more vigilant with their children and to know who they give their children to for upkeeping but vowed to pursue the case to a logical conclusion .

If truly Yetunde's guardian was behind the gruesome murder, why and what could be the reason behind it after sucessefully nuturing her for the past 13 years? What does she stand to gain? All these questions seem unanswarable as the peoples wait patiently for the police to unravel the case and make their submission known on time.

Those arrested along with the 43 year- old Mrs Jaiyeoba Deborah who was the guardian are three of her children namely: Jaiyeoba Titilayo, 20 years old; Tunmininu Jaiyeoba 23 years old and Jaiyeoba Femi 18 years old. Others are Shade Jimoh, Chief J I Owolabi, Raphael Owolabi, Raphael Abiodun and Tolulope Sunday.

Not Again.

All the ups and down this prof has been making over war that took place over three(3) Decades ago is not going to add any advantage or bring out the actualization of his dream.
Seriously, all these will only create more disparity and stir up hatred.

No one is wishing history to die, but mehn this man is getting it wrong.
He's a prof and not a casual noise making chief for goodness sake.

Upon all the hatred he's claiming his people are getting from Nigerians, his people are allover the S/West States even the North living happily and making their cash.
His people claimed they own 50% of Lagos, 90% of PH and 60% of Abuja. With all these claims, no one has challenged them unjustly.
What else do they want?

Their are lots of younger generation of his tribe born, schooling, working and living happily in S/West, not even thinking of visiting their home states without having any difficulty.
This prof should please calm down and not fill minds of younger people with his tribalist mentality.
Christianity Etc › Pastor Kumuyi Urges Nollywood Stars To Use Talents With Judgment Day In Mind by PaulJohn1(op): 11:24am On Oct 20, 2012
The General Overseer of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi has told Nollywood stars to use their talents with judgment day in mind.

In a meeting where several Yoruba actors, actresses, movies producers and pop singers were hosted at the National Art Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, Kumuyi represented by the Head, Yoruba Section of the Ministry, Pastor Rufus Bamigbayan said , "Use your talents with judgment day in mind; realize that your talent is given to you by God and He will ask you to give account of how you use the talent he gave to you to glorify his name."

While the event was on-going, he warned them to desist from acting and singing such songs that would lead people into sin and be thinking of what account to give on judgment day.

Notable personalities who registered their presence at the occasion are: Baba Sala, Jide Kosoko, Oga Bello, Lere Paimo, Ebenezer Obey, Fatai Rolling Dollars among others.

Politics › Re: I’ll Ever Be Grateful To Supporters Of One Nigeria – Gowon by PaulJohn1(op): 3:24am On Oct 20, 2012
What's the point of having one Nigeria when there is crises everywhere? from bombing to kidnapping.

One Nigeria can be appreciable when everyone can live comfortably without fear of terrorism and other chaos.
As for me, one Nigeria is only what we wish and not what we practice.

One Nigeria is when a fellow from one side of the country has the right to move freely in any part of the country where the Green-White-Green flag is been raised without facing deportation.
One Nigeria can be said when we start electing our leaders based on competence and trust without ethnic involvement.

NB: I'm pro One Nigeria
Politics › I’ll Ever Be Grateful To Supporters Of One Nigeria – Gowon by PaulJohn1(op): 3:10am On Oct 20, 2012
Former head of state Gen. Yakubu Gowon has said he would forever be grateful to Nigerians who agreed with him that the country should remain one and helped him to achieve the goal.

“I went into what I believed had to be done at the time and my name was spelled into ‘‘Go on With One Nigeria’’ (GOWON) by people who recognised that we meant well for the country, I greatly appreciated it because it strengthened my resolve and eased the efforts that we were making,’’ Gowon said yesterday during a lecture in Jos to mark his 78th birthday.

Gen. Gowon, who was born on October 19, 1934, in Kanke, Plateau State, and was head of state between 1966 and 1975, said he remained committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria and charged other Nigerians to protect Nigeria’s oneness.

“Let us re commit ourselves to the unity of this nation that our forbearers presented to us and nurtured it to higher rounds,” he said, amidst prayer that Nigeria should never need to fight another war.

Also, the secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of the Yakubu Gowon commemorating lecture, Anyim Pius Anyim, credited Gowon with the unity that Nigeria still enjoys, saying: “Even outside government, you have continued to work at ensuring that Nigeria holds together, taking to organised prayers at times for God to sustain Nigeria’s unity.”

Anyim who represented President Goodluck Jonathan on the occasion added, “It is a privilege to be part of the occasion to honor this great man (Gen. Gowon), the architect of modern Nigeria, a statesman, and indeed the father of united Nigeria. His commitment to our nationhood is legendary.”

Anyim said Jonathan’s transformation agenda is tailored at strengthening Nigeria’s unity and enhancing its common wealth.

Earlier in his remark, the host governor, Jonah Jang of Plateau State, commended Gen Gowon for the efforts he made to keep Nigeria together and expressed hope that such efforts would not be rubbished by posterity.

Jang said: “We are proud of you. And we in leadership now must work hard, emulating you, to make a greater country for tomorrow, we must not betray your fate in Nigeria’s unity and progress.”

The moment we are not OK with them we would kick them out.

When I compare the caliber/quality of leaders Tinubu IMPOSE on us and compare it to what the PDP "internally democrazy" brings I choose to go with Tinubu

Evidence.

Kayode Fayemi a lecturer vs Fayose a thug?

Isiaka Ajimobi an Accountant and MD of NOLCHEM vs Alao Akal a disgrace Policeman

Babatunde Fashola A SAN vs Obanikoro a common thug

Omisore (murderer), Obanikoro, Fayose, Alao-Akala, Arapaja are what PDP gives us?

I would rather have Tinubu as a Godfather than have Adedibu

Thank You
This is what these people have to understand about we Yorubas, it's the same method the likes of Awolowo and co used. Which we've never regretted of.

At least It's better than those thieves the ruling party has been offering us.
