RomanceRe: Is She Cheating? by pauloman(m): 11:00am On Nov 09, 2012
@op

My guy dont dull yourself, deep in your heart you know you have lost this girl as yours. See the minute your gal friend starts making cheap lies to you, then you should know something is amiss and work towards salvaging it. But this actually depends on what you want from the relationship ,whether you want to marry her or there are other things she brings into your life that you cant do without or let go of.

I just wonder why some people will want their spouse or partner to trust them when they dont create an atmosphere for the other person to trust them.

Anyway from your interrogations to her its very obvious she is not trustworthy because she is lieing and such a gal is obviously keeping other boy friends so my advice to you is to break up that your relationship and get a more committed and trustworthy person to give your heart to except you want to get high blood pressure through out your stay with her as your girlfriend.

lillaowow: I think delaying of applications all over the world by CDHC is a delibrate attempt to cut-down the numbers of applicants.

Nigeria as a case study:
Most June applicants have been answered over a months and two weeks ago.
Some july applicants have been called close to a months ago.
Someone reported that VAC stopped accepting applications from Winter applicants around the 2nd week in september.
So where exactly is the high number of applications they receive comming from?
I'm sure they don't receive high visiting applications around this time. Who would wanna go to canada at this time (december I mean) for tourism?? Chilling in a -4 degree Celsius all in d name of tourism?

I'm convinced (but not certain) delaying of application is a deliberate attempt or they're just lazy. C'mon, it doesn't even take them a week to reach any decision on an application. #FRUSTRATED..... Abeg, I need my docs back jare esp ma passport make I continue wit ma bankinn transactions.
Lol...they normally have approved quotas allotted for each fiscal year for each visa category, perhaps they have almost exhausted that of this year but if that is the case i am sure they will know how to shuffle things out....#justmyopinion#

So make Patience your companion for now bro...

RomanceRe: What's Wrong With Virgins? by pauloman(m): 3:45pm On Nov 08, 2012
brokoto: you said its a fact that the non-virgins here are the promiscuous ones who jump from one bed to another? How did you come up wit such FACT oga? You even have a name for the promiscuous ones? SMH. The Jesus you preach didn't call the adulterous woman any name. Remember that!
Virginity till marriage is good no doubt. If i get one with good character, good. If i get a non-virgin with good character, good as well. But make no mistake i will never, i mean never think that a lady is marriage material just because she's still a virgin. Gone are the days when a virgin is a pure lady both in character and lifestyle. Now, all these acclaimed virgins have no idea what it takes to build a home. They just have an intact hymen going for them. No no oga. E no work for me. When i'm ready to marry, i'll look for a decent, intelligent, smart and respectful woman capable of handling a home whether she's a virgin or not. Cheers. . .
Spot on bro ! The bad part of it is that the so called virgins of these days have attached excessive importance to their status that they believe being a virgin is the ultimate price to ensure that they are good girls or that that theeir so called status is a prerequisite to them being a good wife material...what rubbish !

To me most of these so called self acclaimed virgins are even the worst choice because in the quest for being virgins they explore other options of sexual pleasure with the guys they date like MouthAction, anal sex, high profile romance and fore-plays except that they will not be any form of penetration through the vagina. More so their level of morality is highly questionable.

Most morally upright virgins never brag about it and they keep it to themselves except when you probe further. To me those are the true virgins not the one's that tell every dick, tom and harry about it ,only to scam them with it or get unnecesary attention.

Bottom line is that marrying a virgin these days does not necesarily gaurantee that she is morally upright or is fit automatically to be a give you a perfect home. Virgins these days are overrated !

mercylicious: What of permanent residents, do they require visas to visit US?
I dont think permanent residents need a visa to visit or cross over at the border to enter usa. As a permanent resident you would be issued a permanent residence card which is what you present at the border to allow you enter the usa. I stand corrected though...if there is an additional or contrary information to this.

I also know that as a citizen or even a permanent resident of Canada there are some countries you dont need a visa to enter or travel to...USA is one of such countries amongst a host of others.

@spencer,did you confirm with IOM how much they are offering for flights to your destination ? Well its a pity you are not in lagos to check them out. IOM is actually a United Nation affiliate Organization. You can check their services and what they stand for online.

Wow ! That is pretty expensive and i think it might be due to the yuletide . There is an international immigration travel agency called OIM they have presence in most countries around the world including Nigeria. They normally offer subsidized flight through lufthansa. Their office is at the island off awolowo road in lagos. It was recommended to me and other immigrants by the embassy in Accra,Ghana. You can contact them by phone to enquire about their flights to your destination. A friend of mine just travelled through them to Sakaskchewan last month and paid 200k. Here is their number to enquire 014613191 more. Cheers bro.

pufectskin: Hello guys,
so i am in need of advice on what school to go to in Canada for my MBA. Here is my list of considerations and
i ll appreciate any advice. please be nice in words, I just need help here:
1. I am more keen about a school that offers internship opportunities more than how hard the school is
for instance in the US, Harvard is tough to get into but Drexel is easier but it is also not hard to get a job after Drexel
because Drexel has lots of co-ops and internship ops in d city of Philly and even NYC, MD and Jersey.
2. I would like a place that has quite a bit africans around
3. I would like a place with a system that is closer to the US education system than UK (I have been to UK and I HATED it, but that is just my own personal issue).
4. I got into Schulich but I am not how sure of its diversity which is why I am seeking advice here...Should I go to Schulich?
I havent been to the city where Schulich is and I dont know what is like...but its d business school at York Univ.
I am considering Uni of Calgary but I dunno how hard it'd be..
Any advice?

Cheers
There lots of schools in Canada but you need to narrow down your choice to specifics like where you would want to stay and then start from there. You did mention diversity and a school that offers internship. They are a lot of diversity and multiculturalism in most schools in Canada . Also most schools do give information about diversity infos of their schools on their websites including informations about courses that offer internship and co-op opportunities, you only need to include that has part of your school search. I believe most professional programs do offer such in conjuction with the professional bodies in charge of regulating such disciplines in Canada

alutacontinua: @justwise, i'm a nigerian but in the carribean rite now. D issue is dt would i be issued a student visa because i'm going to be doing the clinicals in the hospital, not in a school. Also, can i process the visa from here?

Thanks for the site. I'll check it out ASAP.
To the best of knowledge ,what you are seeking is a placement in a Canadian hospital to do your clinicals, more like an internship if you ask me. It really does not have much to do with study because you will basically be in a working environment even though your intention is to learn while you are at it.

The best approach is for you to go on the internet and apply to hospitals in Canada. You have to identify the area you want to stay and do your clinicals in Canada, the province, territory or municipality and then limit your search to that particular area but it would have been a lot easier if you have some one or a contact on ground in Canada that would aid your search. If you are applying you state your case how it is. Would advice you make your pool of search wider though.

Once you have an hospital ready to accept you for your clinicals ,they would be the one to give you some sought of acceptance or employment letter that would be used to apply for a temporary work/residence permit at the embassy either from within canada or where you are located. The visa or permit when granedt would span the duration of your program

Yes he should go to CIC website and check out self-employed visa category. This type of visa class is for enterpreneurs in the cultural ,arts, sports men and women and farmers who have businesses or creative skills and talents and they want to immigrate to canada and would be self-employed when they get to Canada. It is under business class visa category. He should check if his profession is among the ones eligible to apply at the moment.

Where u are wrong is that u think living an averagely comfortable life or living is all about the food u eat or the amount of money u can use in getting filled up per day. When u work or earn money, wont u transport, cloth and take care of other miscellaneous aspects of ur livinghuh Go figure bro....

toluxa1: This is the wrongest thing I have heard this year. So wrong and so senseless. How will someone same MOST people in nigeria make N20, N50, N100 a day. Bros wake up. Even people that pack shi.t make more than the National minimum wage monthly. What am I saying sef? The hagard looking guy who came to clear our suckaway collected 10k and finised in 5hours and said he was going for another job. That's 20k/per day. MTN or Zenith Bank can't pay you that. Not even NNPC. Go to the rural areas, they may not be rich but they have land and excess food to eat. I have said it at least twice this year, that the 70% of Nigerians live in poverty is a lie from the pit of hell. Guy, people spend money in this country all over. Now I have confirmation since even the world bank claims they have not stats.
U are spewing crap ! U just sit in the confines of ur bedroom and think u can say baseless things....where have u been in this country that u think u have the audacity to say such factless statements. Travel to the nooks and crannies of Nigeria and see how people are suffering in abject poverty. Besides most of the poverty striken population is from the Northern parts.

EducationRe: Off-campus Student Job: Two Naija Students Face Deportation From Canada by pauloman(m):
ogugua88: ^^^ Absolutely not. One is to have a squeaky clean record in order to survive abroad as an immigrant. Firstly, they must have known that they are not allowed to work. That is beyond elementary. I'm sure it was in whatever documents they received, they were told, etc. If you migrate, you have to know your rules. Secondly, they're Nigerians. Do realize that we Nigerians are perceived as nuisances. We are treated differently in European nations, our passports are frowned upon, and we are known as 419ers. Whether or not these girls were oblivious to the laws is not of concern to officials, I'm sure. They come from a "stained" nation unfortunately. If they were of different nationality, say France or Germany, mercy might have been considered at the very least. As they're Nigerians, those girls are going home.
Its a pity but what you said is very true and my take is they were probably reported to the CBSA officials by a black hater because for crying out loud these girls have come a long way with their studies and should have been treated leniently.

shymexx: You're not making any sense at all... Maybe, you need to study why Nigeria is the way it is, before posting your skewed assertions...

Why is Nigeria so corrupt?? Has it ever occurred to you that the whole country is in shambles because of the system of government we practice - and over imitation of western culture on the Nigerian mentalityhuh

What's the Nigerian identity?? What should have been the Nigerian identity with it roots in our various cultures has been eroded by western influence - and we don't even know who we're anymore - we're just a bunch of headless chickens trying to fit in somewhere... Don't blame the culture for that - blame the people and their over imitation of everything 'western' at the expense of the Nigerian culture(s)...

The balderdash you posted has nothing to do with the culture - but the people, who have no sense of belonging and are trying too hard to be everything but Nigerian... undecided
The poster you are referring to might not be directly hitting on the Culture thingy but the Value system in Nigeria. Has it ever occured to you the Culture of a Community and its generalised or aggregate Values have some correllation? Go figure bro...
CultureRe: The Social And Cultural Implications Of Living In The West by pauloman(m): 7:38am On Sep 11, 2012
pufectskin: Let's stop kidding ourselves; nigerian culture is over hyped! We diasporans like to think we morally better off or our culture is sooo much better dan dat of Americans. If we have such a great culture, why isn't it reflected in our society? Why is Nigeria sooo corrupt? Why do we leave 80% of our society in abject poverty? Why are our leaders; even just regular citizens sooo corrupt? I just got back to Nigeria barely less than a year and been scammed/duped by my best childhood friend (she doesn't pick my calls or returns my BB msgs anymore cos she is ashamed; dis is a girl from a notable family for dat matter). I am sorry to say if u r a diasporan, u really need to come home to see dat we really hv no values in this society anymore. Girls use their bodies to get high marks in unis, even d married girls r on parole, ppl marry for d wrong reasons, d private schools cost as much as american schools but d standard is about 60% close to wat u get in d US, d kids only respect ppl with a lil money, actually every1 here respect only ppl with a lil change; bottomline is I don't know what Nigerian values r...
Americans have a sense of who they are and where they want to be...we know American ideals of Dignity, self respect, hard work, innovation, entrepreneurship, human rights and equal opportunity for all. What are Nigerian ideals? Do we have any? Or are we just fantasizing about family/villages raising kids? How many little kids in Nigeria have d level of advanced thinking an average 5yr old american has? How come we glorify scammers/get rich quick no matter d means men here in Nigeria? We call d scammed maga (I wasn't even greedy when I got scammed...long story for another day).
As I said b4, I have been here less than a year, and I hv concluded dat dis is not d Nigeria I used to know; frankly this is not d type of society where I would love to raise a kid. I want my kids to be exposed to science, innovation, diverse cultures; I want them to know what real love is..., I want them to learn to love ppl for who they are and learn to stand up for what is right...dats not very possible here.
D orientation here is of very low quality. No surprise we r where we r.
Gosh ! Well said...i really felt everything you said in your post .

Kpac: Power to Change
The govenor of Ekiti state once said "To change this country, you have to be in power"
I have been having some visiting headache since I got the news of the concluding intentions of CBN....
I have carefully studied these things in my capacity and I smell a conspiracy between GEJ,Ngozi and Sanusi....First,if 5000 notes is released, then its a step to increase fuel price in the nearest future, its another step to make huge withdrawals from the foreign reserve, its also a step to borrow a huge amount from World bank, which most probably have been nearing final approval.....Large currency like 5000 naira makes these operations easy and it would make their transactions cheaper....... And to the common man, price of every goods would increase, traansport fares etc...The price of pure water would firm at around 20 naira, the smallest sized bread would be 100 naira.
Don't forget that, the inroduction of 500 and 1000 naira was what made maggi sold for 2 for 5 naira(from 50k), chewing gum, sweets sold for 5 naira each(from 1 naira) etc just because traders was looking for every means to avoid collecting coins of 50k,1 naira and 2 naira.
All part of the Nigerian trade in a common man market eradicated the need for collecting coins by increasing their goods cost to meet up the nearest Note, which was 5 naira,as a result of these, coins disappeared from circulation.
The same would happen if these 5000 note is allowed by Nigerians....The hardship of Nigerians would increase significantly and no one would be spared.
I call on all Nigerians to halt these move....It is a calculation of gain to the government and its close allies and hardship to the masses which makes up more than 85% of the population.
This is a further confirmation of GEJ's !!! cluelessness
