This post aim at showing that though "sameness" of the sexes is not possible, equality is possible.

Feminism or Ethical feminism or gender equality according to the Merriam-webster dictionary is defined as belief in advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes not necessarily the female should be same to the male as both sexes have certain characteristics that are different from each other by nature.

Apart from ethical feminism which is gradually holding grounds today, there are other kind of feminism or gender equality i wouldn't subscribe to, and that is what is called Anti-marriage feminism whose members condemn marriage as enemy of gender equality.
Some women says they don't want to get married because marriage restrict the absolute autonomy their lives, i think that is what the Oyedepos and the general traditional society are condemning, but the Oyedepos fail to define it and distinguish it from ethical feminism or gender equality that the world is gradually accepting today.

For instance, my wife is working in a multinational company and she is currently making more money than i am if I'm not mistaken. I am running a private family business and I am in support of her cooperate and financial status and therefore do not in anyway place any restriction on her freedom, that is what is called ethical feminism or gender equality.
We are husband and wife at home but no clear appointment of who should be the head of the house, she is without the pressure to conform to any given domestic role because i created the chance for her: occasionally, I do the cooking and takes care of the kids while she is away.That is what is called ethical feminism or gender equality.
We contribute equally in terms of ideas to the family, she is very free to speak out against, whenever I'm taking a wrong decision, but amicably and not arrogantly, and i do the same to her, we understand each other and takes a final decision that will work for us. That is ethical feminism or gender equality.

But what if i speak arrogantly to her as the man and we end up breaking up, or what if she speaks arrogantly to me and I decides to call off the marriage?
I guess these are such reasons why anti-marriage feminists will see marriage as ememy of gender equality or religious traditionalists like Bishop Oyedepo will see gender equality as ememy of marriage, But that is not the case in reality.
What is applicable to reality is : Marriage is whatever we make of it

Now, religious traditionalists will always quote a scripture to back up their stand :

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Be in silence even when she feels marginalized?
That's non sense!

The question you should ask yourself is : IS IT JESUS CHRIST SPEAKING OR PAUL?

Therefore, it is not everything we see in the bible that are applicable to reality, feminists can go into marriage so long there is understanding, the same goes to non feminists

Hello, Nairlanders, for some times now, I have been itching to ask this question. The difference between being a Christian and a Born Again Christian.
Often times, I hear people ask me, Are you a Christian? My answer of course Yes!! , then they will proceed, are you a Born Again Christian? Sometimes, when I say Yes.. They will be like.....Are you sure??

Personally, I think Christianity is not just a religion but a way of life... Which one is now Born Again Christian?

there is nothing like born again Christian in the bible it is all a sham as those who claim to be born again are terrible sinners too, scriptures cannot lie. 1 John 1:8

But who is a Christian?
Anyone who believes in the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ through his faith, by so doing has obtained salvation therefore he is a Christian.

John 3:16 ...WHOSOEVER believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

You will also note that anyone whosoever was born into a Christian family, it will be very difficult to convince such a person that Jesus isn't the resurrected Christ, that is the idea of being a Christian, not trying to have people say you do not commit sin.

When a man decides to give his wife freedom of her personal and social automomy sometimes, for instance the man decides to do the household cooking for his wife and children, washing the clothes including that of his wife and cleaning the house, is that also feminism?

I must confess these verses are very convincing

it is because you are looking at only the verses.

Read the whole chapter where those verses are found and relate those verses with what the whole chapter is trying to explain, you will see that there are no correlation with the fake rapture idea

When you look at full explanation in
1 Corinthians 15:35-58 which was further explained in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, you will see that those verses were pointing resurrection of the dead, not rapture, that new body are given to believers after their resurrection. That there are several bodies, celestial bodies(in space) was mentioned.
By the time you read down to verse 52,you will see that verse 52 is not different from the whole chapter.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

twinkling of the eye represent death, that we will die and close our eyes someday.
The sound of the trumpet is like a call(using trumpet), that is is time to die, that everyone will die someday.

So, the basic explanation of the whole chapter is that there is resurrection of the dead and our body will be changed after resurrection, there is nothing rapture about it.

That's why the last verse says o death where is your sting, that death has been defeated.

As a Christian it's either you believe in resurrection of the dead through Jesus crucifixion and resurrection or you believe in rapture as both teachings contradicts one another (a reasonable scrutiny using the simple law of non-contradiction will reveal this).

Perhaps this why many Christians today are scared of logic and reasoning which is not really good for them

Jesus himself used logic several times with his parables and it paved way for justice.
Paul himself was full of logic, little wonder he was very bold to speak and the great King Agrippa confessed to him "you almost made me a Christian " (Act 26:28).

How does resurrection of the dead and rapture contradicts one another?

The common rapture teaching states that when we die we will wait till rapture before we resurrect(let's assume there is a scripture for this, cos i haven't seen any ).

But contrary to that, Jesus says

John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me SHALL NEVER DIE. Believest thou this?

If Jesus had said this why then is rapture saying we will die and wait, i don't get it?

I think this whole thing is an offshoot of the ancient Roman traditions into Christianity.

Well, humans infusing their traditions into their religions have always been a major characteristics over history and shouldn't be harmful to the basic fundermentals of the religion itself

You rightly quote whatever scripture which is good. But have it at the back of your mind that these scriptures were documented approximately 2000 years ago and there are specific set of people these warning were for, these set of people lived approximately 2000 years ago, not you and me.

If you want to beware of scoffers then you have understand scriptures for yourself, there is no magic or fiction of flying Jesus anywhere, rather scriptures affirmed that he lives in you.

Colossians 1:27 ...Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Not Christ coming in the clouds the hope of glory.

And come to think of it, we were created to be useful to this earth what then is usefulness of rapture to humanity?

To some Christians like Righteousness2 and his his likes, this might appear as a huge puzzle for them to understand
Afterall, even Jesus parables were like puzzles for the scribes and Pharisees to understand and people hate what they don't understand, it's natural

now, here is prophet Isaiah telling the Jews of the old testament what will happen in their future, that the Messiah was coming

Isaiah 6:9 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

After the fulfillment of this prophecy in the new testament the Messiah came and he was among the Jews as a new born baby, and isaiah's prophecy was made reference to :

Matthew 2:6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

But many of the Jews who were expecting his coming including the scribes and the Pharisees did not believe that the Messiah has come in their midst : They saw Jesus they didn't know he was the Messiah so they were not ready to receive him. Even some Jesus disciples were not ready too, hence this is what Jesus told them

Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready(that his disciples should also ready: not today Christians o,please take note): for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Because we foolishly and always made that mistake assuming that Jesus is also talking to us today Christians that we should be ready because we are also his disciple, it does not follow.

Now the issue is, Christians of today read this Matthew 24:44 and in our minds we think that Jesus was talking about his second coming in a way of rapture and end of the world

Now, I go back to the question again, HAS JESUS CHRIST COME OR IS HE COMING BACK AGAIN?

Going by the prophecy of Isaiah above the answer is, Jesus has already come and he is currently with us in the spirit (Emmanuel which literally interpretes GOD WITH US) so he is not coming back again.

However, the day you die he has come for you, that is his second coming(Acts1:11), after that life continues without you.
He will surely wait till you die, you will meet him in the spirit:

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

And in that judgement this is what will happen and it will happen so fast within the twinkling of the eye

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So we have all the liberty to be productive while we are alive :
If you are trader or Engineer or Doctor or Farmer or whatever profession God has blessed you with, focus on it and do it perfectly without any fear of the unknown.

You will never see Jesus coming physically in the sky and Angels blowing trumpets like whaaaat?

the scripture you quoted says in the day of judgement. That implies they didn't give account of their idle words immediately they spoke it, God waited till they died naturally perhaps some of them lived up to 100 years old and eventually died before the judgement.

Now, according to the testimony given by this pastor why would God not wait till the day of judgement after the pastor must have later died naturally before judging him to hell for saying negative words?

Why will God want to kill the pastor prematurely in 1981 ?

The pastor says he died for mere speaking negative words(not even something serious that warrant death) and if he had not reverted his words he would have remain dead, Does that sound like what God will do?

We need to probe some statements. It is not every statement that are true simply because they spoken by pastor

James 3:6 (KJV)
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

whatever negative words the pastor had spoken in that prayer couldn't have come to a point where it could have defiled the body to the extent that will warrant his death.

I mean, a lot of us Christians also pray ignorantly and that will not warrant God to kill us
