He is quoting bible in support of poverty na ![]()

Only if the greedy church members who want fast miracle money know the content of that book called bible and be free, who could possibly extort money from them ? They tell them the more you give the more you get, the more you shout AMEN in church over some people's testimony the quick is your cash out |
jesusjnr2020:you terribly misunderstood that there is time for everything and that what qualifies people to heaven as at the time Jesus was yet to be crucified is totally different from what qualifies people to heaven today that Jesus has been crucified. Long after the crucifixion, Paul mentioned Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. And that stands in Christianity today. It wasn't so at the time before Jesus crucifixion that is why you can afford to quote those scriptures you quoted without this understanding |

Broveens42:it doesn't dispute the fact that education of the citizenry is far better than migration and it's a better solution to economic set back |
I love the bible so much and i will not go beyond it content when I'm getting instructions from God. But one thing that fascinate me each time i read bible is, the old testament prophets who heard God speaking didn't have bible. Yes, it's true! Do you depend on bible so much for every word you hear from God? What happens to your personal mind? What happens to your reasoning capacity? What happens to your thinking? What happens to the little advices you hear from people around you, that you can reason in your mind they are full of wisdom? I tell you, the world has become advance in knowledge today not because people read bible. The achievements and breakthroughs in science and technology, in arts and creativity that have yielded great economic impacts were never from the bible but from human reasoning. What do you do with your mind as a Christian? That is the most important question to ask. Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, DO BY NATURE the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: As a Christian, you should have a mind of your own. Not even your pastor have a right in your mind, it is your own. That implies, you must embark on self education |
desiredhome:very correct! It's a problem of the mind, not necessarily because of the economic situation and lack of opportunities. Our minds are skewed as a people due to lack of access to quality education. Our schools are moribund for the few who have access to it Our traditional institutions are flop. To crown the confusion, religion(churches and mosques) are the ones now teaching the citizens personal values because the family has failed. Churches and mosques are not adequate to take that role because all they want is quick money, not necessarily because they want to educate people of even the content of the bible and the Quran which should be their priority, therefore the minds of the people are skewed |
Come to think of it how many foreigners come to Nigeria the way Nigerians are migrating? Who cause am? |
NairalandDoctor:who say catholic are not doing business too? What about harvest and bazzar? My guy, nothing is wrong in doing business only that the gospel should be preached in the business |
Comparing church employment capacity with that of a state, does this man think the kingdom of God is here on earth to compete with states or human government in any way? The illustration doesn't follow Jesus says my kingdom is not of this world, so we should leave state and focus on what we are here for, which is to win souls. That withstanding, he is right to sack pastors who are not fruitful. |
I just finish eating this fried meat, very delicious and, it didn't make me a less Christian ![]()
|
If that is the basis for the sack then it is justified. You can't abandon your primary duty to pursue something else and at the same time expect growth. |
Op, you are saying the truth that the kingdom is on earth. But i want to add that the new heaven(sky) and the new earth was spoken metaphorically and it literally means people on this same earth, no where else is the new heaven and the new earth but people on this earth, I will show you why. The kingdom of God is people, not a place: Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven Do you see that emboldened statement? He didn't say for of such will enter the kingdom of God, rather, it says for such is.. So, we are the kingdom of God on this earth. |
Business or no Business, he fails to preach the bible accurately, leading to him misleading people and making so much money from Nigerians, likewise other pastors too, therefore it has become a norm. I wouldn't say he is not a man of God because anybody can be man of God |
briggson07:Anyway! 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. This point out that evolution may have occurred |
briggson07:by what means and how long did he spend to create man? |
what does the bible teaches? |

DavidAO:we are on the same page, only that you didn't point out exactly what is unbiblical. Is it mark of the beast i mentioned or Daniels prophecy or about God's kingdom as mentioned in Jesus parables? |
The word faith as used in the bible simply refers to what we call religion today. Hence, there is the Christian faith which is the Christian religion. There was the Jewish faith originated from the old covenant through Abraham, what is known as Judaism today. There are several terms in the bible that was used in place of faith or religion. Jesus mentioned the kingdom of heaven in his parables, he was referring to the Christian religion on earth. The term "mark of the beast" in the book of revelation also referred to a dominant religion that persecuted Christianity back then in bible days, during the days of Paul the apostle. The great statue vision of Daniel and the great kings as prophesied by Daniel referred to several religions battling themselves for supremacy, but one of them because wax stronger than others, that one is Christianity. The word covenant or testament also refers to religion, for instance the old and the new covenants are two different religion entirely Little wonder it is said that without faith it is impossible to please God, obviously, without religion it is impossible to please God. And guess one fascinating thing about religion or faith? It does not depend on anything you do or how much you actively go to church, it depend on that very thing you believe in your heart. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. |

Are humans not heaven on earth? The same way we think that speaking in tongues is heavenly language, speaking openly with language that men can understand is even more heavenly. Please the Jewish Hallelujah is heavenly language. Yoruba is heavenly language Hause is heavenly language Igbo heavenly language English, Spanish, French, Chinese,Russian, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Hindi, Malay, Dutch, Turkish, Roman, Italia, Marathi, Guatemala, all the languages, name it. They are all heavenly language Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. |
livette:do you think that place in front of church is God's altar? You must be joking. God's altar is right inside you, not any building or construction in front of church. Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being..... |

ABSOLUTELY TRUE |
CharisEleos:what is sinful about what does not affect you or another person negatively? |
Kobojunkie:I just quoted while we are yet sinners Christ died for us. If he had not forgiven us he would not have died at the state when we are yet sinners He would have died after we repented, but that wasn't the case. Rather, his death was done in advance and it was done once to cover our future transgressions, so there will be no need for Christ to die again the second time because we have sinned the second time. Romans 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 2. Assuming Jesus did indeed forgive you all your sins, including the ones you have yet to commit, then why did He insist on us obeying Him .I.e., not sinning against God?you correctly mentioned that the reason why Jesus died was to defeat death and give us eternal life, that is not the same reason Jesus will insist that we should obey his laws, that's why I told you those laws have been in existence long before Christ came to die, and has nothing to do with Christ even though Christ emphasized on them. So why will Christ insist on this laws? Because these laws are the background of success on this earth to everyone including we Christians. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Note that these laws were also given to Joshua long before Christ came, so there is nothing new about them. What did Jesus Christ insist on speaking in Parablesparables were meant to hide the mysteries of God's kingdom to the Pharisees and reveal them to the disciples. Matthew 13:10 and what was the point of the teachings, and commands that suggest our righteousness should be greater than even that of the Pharisees if at the end of the day, we can all walk straight past Him to claim a piece of His kingdom despite our sins and hence our unrighteousmess?there are two kinds of righteousness of which one is greater than the other. The righteousness of God through Christ(Romans 3:22) is greater than the righteousness through keeping the laws because the former qualifies one to eternal life and it's a gift from God. That is the righteousness Jesus wanted his disciples to have which is greater than the righteousness of the Pharisees, and the only way they could have that righteousness was for them to wait until Jesus die and resurrected. we don't work to get the righteousness But the later kind of righteousness(which the Pharisees had) only helps everyone(both the disciples and the Pharisees) to live successfully here on this earth as mentioned in Joshua 1:8 Why did He do all that - and He spent more than 3 years teaching these things day and night to His disciples, because had limited time and he wanted his disciples to live uprightly while preaching the gospel mind you- if after all is said and done, there are no real penalties for sin?who said so? When you lie what do you expect? Ofcourse people will not trust anymore and you know the implications of that? But again, it does not stop you from going to heaven, infact you are in heaven like this committing sin and no one can take that from you because heaven is a gift from God. When you give gifts to people you don't take it back from them no matter what Why was Judas considered lost when after all, all he did was commit sin against Jesus Christ who supposedly forgave us all our sins, past, present and future?let me tell you why Judas was a betrayer. He pretended to be one of the disciples but meanwhile he did not believe in his heart from the beginning, so when opportunity arises, he strucked. It wasn't that Jesus did not forgive him, he was the one that did not forgive himself. But one thing i know for sure is, if Judas had remorsefully realized at the end that the same Jesus he betrayed was the Christ and regretted his actions and repented before killing himself then he is already in heaven And why did Jesus Christ teach us the Lord's prayer, having us ask for forgiveness of sinsif you sin against anyone courtesy demands that you should ask for forgiveness. It goes to everyone, not only Christians. we have committed every single time we pray, beginning that we not be led into anymore temptation and be delivered from evil?that is because there are consequences of doing evil here on this earth |
Kobojunkie:well, what i will say is, Jesus taking away the sins of the world does not necessarily mean that he has stopped people of the world or believers from committing sin. It means he has forgiven our sins including the ones we are yet to commit in the future. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. |
Kobojunkie:How is Jesus Christ offering salvation different from him taking away the sins of the world? |
enilove:No! Let's call a spade a spade, don't lie! You actually committed a blunder, a fallacy calling me a spiritual dwarf or lillipucian without explaining your point first. Now, that is attacking the personality 1)I didn't say Paul had problem with his faith. I only said it was possible for someone to convince him that Jesus is not the Christ, perhaps the Pharisees could have done that. If that had happened then he would have been a castaway inspite that he preached Christ What evidence do you have to prove that Paul was trying not to leave his faith ?let me state that even the persecution Paul went through was enough for him to abandon the faith. Many Christian faithfuls denied Christ at the intense of the persecution they went through and they became castaway from Christ, but Paul didn't. So, it's not about whether they sinned or not, it's about them holding their faith in Christ till the end. Paul said :see, just read from the beginning of that chapter till the end, you will see that Paul was summoned and tried by his prosecutors who tried to deprived Christians of certain rights. When he says BUT I KEEP UNDER MY BODY, and bring it into subjection, he was referring to subjection to Christ inspite all odds of persecution, not subjection to his ability to avoid committing sin 2) Isaiah 1:8 is not saying you should go back to your sins after God has forgiven you your sins.I'm not saying you should go back to your sin either. I'm saying that your salvation has nothing to do with you going back to your sin or not. Salvation is a separate thing entirely Ezekiel 18:21-24 KJVvery true scriptures! But these scriptures are not made in the standpoint of salvation through Christ. These scriptures are just the normal judgement of this life, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. You sin you die If you don't sin you live. Jesus the Great Judge said :and if you read the final judgement in revelation 22, it was based on whether or not the individual name was written in the book of life. How was their names found there in that book? Because they believe in Christ, not because they were just. Hence the just shall live by their faith, not by what they do |
