Pls someone or as many persons as possible should pls state ALL the reasons so far known on why the VO will not issue study permit. This knowledge will help guide our application and reduce the number of questions asked on it.
Wish i could add, but I'm yet to even secure an admission. I'm just thinking proactively.. Thank you for responding |

Thanks for the guide but u skipped the question about the fees, whether it's yearly or termly. Basically, i saw over 5k for Master of Engineering.. Can this be year tuition? Forgive my quest, which field of engineering are you studying? Did you submit ielts as a Nigerian? Phatkayconcept: Actually, I wrote GRE because I was initially interested in studying in the USA. But with Uwindsor, for my course, they didn't request for it, so I didn't submit it. However, if your course requires the GRE exam, it will be best you appear for the exam and Ace it as much as you can.
If you choose to apply without the consent of a supervisor, it's not a big deal. But then, ensure you at least meet the minimum requirements. Afterwards, there can only be two negative scenarios, they either switch you to course based or denial your application altogether.
If you are aiming for a course based program, I think the conventional practice is that 'you do not need a supervisor'. |

Thanks for these encouraging words and recommending Uni of Windsor. Pls did you submit your application with GRE score? I intend to apply for Engineering Management and it seems GRE is needed and are the school fees on the website per year or term? I just want to be double sure Also, I'm about to apply to University of Manitoba but the supervisors, even as I intend to study course based masters, aren't responding so I think I should chop agidi like you and quote any name I like in that section and send a final email up the chosen supervisor telling him that I've chosen him in my application I wonder why the school even requires a supervisor for course based MEng Thanks in advance for responding. Phatkayconcept: Well, I had a first class, but I wouldn't say your GPA isn't strong either.
Even with my first class, I can't remember how many profs I contacted, at a point, all my inbox msg was a failure msg ' Sorry, I am not taking any student at the moment'.
I even get agidi, I applied without any supervisor accepting me, I got rejected, or got switched to course based. In total, I applied to about 10schools in Canada and USA. Until one day, @Blema came through for me, and I gave Uwindsor a shot. I found a supervisor and also got some sort of funding.
So, keep trying, its not all about class, there is a spirit of believing too.
Meanwhile, I am still writing my Epistles to appreciate @Blema for her help.
Good luck everyone! |

Anon123: 1) I can't say cos I don't have an answer for you boss but am sure people here might know but still stick to wat you see on the schools website
2) you don't need to write either as long as your bsc courses were taught in English and your transcript shows your courses were in English. Thanks for your response. Are you sure that English tests aren't required? I'm hearing this for the first time. Are you currently studying in canada? |

Hello house, Happy new month. I'm new here but have read through previous threads.
I want to apply to either University of Alberta for MEng in Engineering Management or Fanshawe for Diploma in Practicals of Mechanical Engineering. Kindly provide answers as much as you can to the following questions.
1. Is anybody here currently studying or had studied there at Uni of A? I want to confirm that the quoted amount on their website is for the full course, not per term or year
2. Which exam is easiest? TOEFL or IELTS Academic
I intend to sponsor myself and the goal is to get PR eventually.. Kindly provide more info to help achieve my aim, be in a reconsideration in my choice of course or school.
Thank you for responding |

Congratulations dear. Pls when exactly did you apply for Admission? ohizzy: Happy New Month Everyone,
I have a serious/not-to-serious issue depending on your point of view.
So I happen to have gained admission to Douglas College (COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS (POST-BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA)) for September 2020. But I lost my job last month.
And yes I'm using an Uncle from my mothers' side as my sponsor. He owns a construction company in Nigeria.
Here are my predicaments: 1) Do I still need Letter of Introduction from Employer 2) Recommendation letters from job experience 3) Do I need to write IELTS since I already got the admission and Paid part of Tuition as requested by the school before the Pandemic? 4) Can I apply for a VISA with my passport which is expiring August 2020 5) Would a birth certificate be sufficient enough to show Ties btw my Mum and Uncle?
Thank you all for your time... |
