What r u on about?? d YOU think shes ugly?? If you do leave her. Do you live your life according to people's standards or wait for their approval?? Discover yourself first and what you treasure before you mess up a girl's life. |
and kind enough to remind me what hpnd yesterday? |
Was imposed by the council in my country and it works. if you must make loud noise in any gathering you need a licence from the council. or else its a criminal offence to disturb the peace of others esp in a busy city and during office/night hours. Its good to know God is a God of order and God respects the law of the land > give ceasar's what is ceasar's. Bible commands people not to be stumbling blocks. |
can't believe he spoke my mind. |
Wow is this Chimezie? you know ur actually right in my opinion. |
There's no def answer,as it actually depends on what you are looking for in the partner. Truth is, everybody has somebody that suits him perfectly so I don't think there's any problem seeking ur type. Each mad man has his own mad woman waiting so,nobody ought to be without a partner. |
Are we therefore our own enemies of progress?? Making it difficult for other Africans to prosper or are we just losers not fighters? Why cant Africans think and develop themselves? Is it possible to do without western influence at all?? I have both Yes and No answers. Why are we not taking advantage of Trade blocs? Cz we don't even know they exist ! |
So seun's been here since 2006?? wow! 6 years of nl? congrats. the baby is in school . |
what if she cant afford a therapist? |
Not only that,we are only interested in events happening in already developed nations when we should be focusing on emerging markets esp in Africa. Africa is treasure land but we always wait to be 'discovered'. by the yeah who else but the chinese. And trust me they are occupying Africa like no mans' biz. I always laugh when I see less qualified foreigners occupying big seats in some companies as skilled locals apply for visas day in and out, We believe in prospering abroad and never Africa. With all the gold mines, oil, minerals, gas, etc etc ,why should we go play cab driver with our Masters? The west want pieces of Africa and are making a mad rush to tap our resources from North to South ,East and West. But Africans believe they cannot breakthrough. We lost hope. We are a people without Identity. Shame. |
That's my question because am African. We know everything happening in the US and Canada,Europe,Asia subcontinent,,Australasia,Pagopago ,including the Space I strongly believe some people here are FBI agents cz of the amount of info they carry concerning western politics! its amazing. But mention any event in Africa,South ,East,Central and we go or or even .I believe Africa is becoming better by the day, its no wonder theres's a scramble for it. Many Africans can find good jobs in some other African countries but prejudice is killing us.We'd rather suffer in the west and cry foul later. The only Africa we know is the CNN one .Just like the west yet it is our motherland!! Why for instance do we care to know more about US opportunities than say Togo?? we don't even know the location of some of these countries.shame on us. I have met some westerners who know Africa like the back of their hands but some Africans know nothing about their neighbours. Some comments people make about other african nations are erroneous cz we don't know their colour or language. The West/Asia is running to Africa for investment opportunities, but instead of us seizing the moment we are busy queing for escape from motherland visas. Before you stone me, I understand the importance of knowing what is taking place elsewhere but not at the expense of our dear continent. I wish there were other African nationalities here to update us on positive developments in their countries instead of us posting negative stories when they break. Love Africa. We are no longer the dark continent. Even places that never had electricity now use solar! we can see! Signed, ![]() |
Freecocoa those boys are really cute. They are identical! |
Wbong:These are easy to deal with issues not impossibilities! for christ's sake people have major life threatening issues and they still manage to socialise and break a smile. Look here,If she's academically challenged. Why not go back and study? if money is the problem, she can hang around libraries, not gossip with friends and doing silly things, read magazines, newspapers, journals, diaries, blogs, just any source of info to broaden her mind! she needs to spend time with people who challenge her and are superior to her so that she can match up. Sometimes people have a tendency of wanting to mingle with people of a lower cadre for ego sake.It gives them a superior false ego based on who knows more while in reality they are useless. If her behaviour is a put off she can work that out! if its all in the past then the best remedy is cut off her past bad relationships and mingle with a different group of people who can positively influence her. Accepting the status quo is not the answer. In summary this is my advise,if she messed up her life she can use the same amount of energy to put it all back together. It will take her WILL. We don't live in the past or else the world wl never progress. |
did u say dollars?? mmh! |
slimyem:LOL ok. In that case there's no party. My kamasutra lessons I will save for another day. Sorry poster I do not fancy arranged marriages. Allow them find their own mates. |
I modified the post. Listen Wbong.Church is ok but being an active member aint gonna solve her problems. See the mistake people do? Run to church hoping their issues will disappear in a flash! .Truth is,church activities will keep her mind occupied BUT only for a while. When church doors are locked she goes back to her miserable state. I mean some self esteem issues are progressively dealt with not hidden in church activities. Her soul is troubled but her spirit is saved, so can she please address the real issues in her soul? God can help her do it but not through being a busy body. That's *escapism.* And before I forget. The way to confirm you have overcome anything is by meeting the same thing and feeling nothing about it. She will know shes ok when shes able to meet those bullies and talk to them the same way she does everybody else. That's called healing. I have noticed from ur post shes using escape or substitute as a way of tackling her insecurity. |
She seems so broken inside, it's interfering with her progress. The world is cruel and there are very few people who can be kind and encouraging. What most do is take advantage of other's misery to break further. How is family helping her or are they fueling this? When all fails the family is always a good leaning post you know. She must understand that she can shape her own destiny and if she just sits there feeling miserable, she will forever be and nobody enjoys hanging around misery. Let her also keep the company of positive/optimistic people not those who keep reminding her of her past failures. Its all in her will. She can overcome if she decides to. |
Wbong:In that case she needs to get rid of all that garbage before she can breakthrough. Its the bondage holding her back and nobody needs more garbage in their lives. Are the problems family related or personal? |
Has the bride to be accepted the proposal ? I am waiting to hear a yes before I can play ssenga oh boy lef the usher?? ![]() |
The couple don't know the difference between Love and Emotion? Why and how the heck dd they get married?? |
General Electric Co, the largest US conglomerate, has upgraded its Nairobi office to a regional hub to serve its sub-Saharan Africa business. The Nairobi office used to serve the East Africa region but will now act as a hub for its west, central and part of southern African business—excluding South Africa. GE’s revenue from Africa accounts for roughly one per cent of its global revenue, but that share is likely to go up, said Jeffrey Immelt, the group chief executive at GE in Nairobi on Monday. “We have opened the regional office in Nairobi to serve sub-Saharan Africa because GE has identified ample opportunities to invest in, especially in infrastructure,” said Mr Immelt at an event attended by Vice- President Kalonzo Musyoka. GE says its revenue of about $1.5 billion from across 14 countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Angola and Kenya has been growing in double digits over the last two years. It is targeting to maintain a growth of 10-15 per cent in the short term targeting the power and health sectors. In Kenya, its prime customers are Kenya Airways and Rift Valley Railways whom its supplies with engines. It also serves hospitals with equipment such as X-ray machines. It is also seeking a piece of Kenya’s power sectors where it has started the construction of a 100 megawatts wind power plant worth Sh34 billion and is seeking land in Northern Kenya to build another wind power plant with a capacity for 150 MW. It joins a string of multinationals including Bharti Airtel, Nestle, Heineken and Coca-Cola that has set their regional shops in Kenya thanks to the location of Nairobi and ease of getting skilled employees for their operations. The firm also operates in Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Rwanda Ethiopia, Zambia, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea and has 1,200 staff on the continent. Share This Story 4Share “We are long term investors, I saw these trends in Brazil and China some two decades ago— this is the time to invest in Africa,” Mr Immelt in reference to the increased investor interest in the continent. But unlike other countries such as China and India, which have focused their attention on Africa’s resources like oil and minerals and market for the produce, the US is targeting the high tech products to maintain its share of the continent’s business. Chinese exports to Kenya have grown steadily in recent years at the expense of the US and other western nations. In 2006, the value of Chinese imports overtook those of US to stand at Sh120.6 billion last year compared to Sh39.3 billion of Washington. While China’s cheap goods have flooded the streets and supermarkets of all major cities and small towns in Africa, America has deepened its presence in the high-tech goods market such as planes, medicines and medical equipment. The US will increasingly focus on the high end market where it believes it has an edge even as China moves up the ladder in research and development (R& ) investments. This is push for a larger share of the high end market is being shepherded by firms such as General Electric. too busy to edit.sorry. ![]() |
so is this going to be the precedent?? |
Kenya, South Sudan to form team for oil pipeline project Kenya and South Sudan will form a joint commission to streamline plans for the construction of an oil pipeline between Juba and the port city of Lamu. South Sudan intends to construct a pipeline through Kenya to export its crude oil while the government would build a refinery in Isiolo to process the crude for local use and export to countries like Ethiopia. “We do not have the money to build the pipeline. South Sudan has said it will build it but it will be jointly managed by the two countries,” said Energy PS Patrick Nyoike. The PS said a similar arrangement would be adopted for the planned refinery, possibly on a 50:50 basis. Last Tuesday, Kenya signed the oil pipeline and fibre optic deal allowing South Sudan build and own a pipeline through the Kenyan territory. “We will form a joint venture on the twin projects . We have a counterproposal from Toyota Tsusho Corporation to build several multi products to Lamu and Nakuru,” he said. Another line is planned to deliver products to the border town of Moyale to be tapped by Ethiopia. A pipeline would also be built to connect to the oil fields in Hoima in northern Uganda. Mr Nyoike said it was possible to complete the project in a year given that the 2,000-kilometre line from South Sudan oil fields to Port Sudan was laid in 18 months. The refinery, pipeline and fibre optic cable are part of the Sh16 trillion Lamu Port and Southern Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor project. The project includes resort cities along the corridor and airports linked via a modern railway line. The pipeline offers South Sudan an alternative route to transport oil, which accounts for 98 per cent of its revenues while opening up northern Kenya for development. Toyota Tsusho Corporation is planning to build a 1,400-kilometre oil pipeline under Build Operate and Transfer before handing over control of the facility to the two governments after 20 years. The pipeline would carry a projected 450,000 barrels of oil a day from Juba in southern Sudan to Lamu on the Indian Ocean. The estimated cost of the pipeline is $1.5 billion dollars (Sh135 billion). “The pipeline is a gateway to move Sudanese oil to the market including Kenya. Both the crude oil line and the refinery are urgent. Our plan is to deliver both at the same time,” said Mr Sylvester Kasuku, Infrastructure specialist at Kenya’s Office of the Prime Minister. He said Kenya would earn transit fees in line with international best practice adding that preliminary works on other aspects of Lappset such as roads and port building have started. http://www.businessdailyafrica.com/Kenya+South+Sudan+to+form+team+for+oil+pipeline+project++/-/539546/1317026/-/item/1/-/us053d/-/index.html |
The Summary South Sudan accuses Khartoum of ‘looting · Juba and Khartoum separated in July 2011. · Khartoum accuses Juba of supporting the rebel groups in a proxy war over the control of Abyei area (oil zone)and other disputed border regions. ![]() · Juba accuses Khartoum of backing the rebel groups in the South Sudan to undermine the political stability in the newly independent republic. ![]() Juba on Friday announced it had decided to shut down the oil pipeline that runs through North Sudan to the export terminal at Port Sudan on the Red Sea, citing endless row with Khartoum South Sudan accused its northern neighbour of imposing a “per barrel penalty for secession.” South Sudan, which gained independence from Sudan last July, is entirely dependent on oil revenues to meet 98 per cent of her budgetary obligations. Mr Dhieu said there are only two conditions that may necessitate the reopening of the pipeline: “Either Khartoum accepts a fair deal with us and accept our offer by settling the financial proposal or we pay them a transit fee which will not be more than $1 per barrel.” South Sudan has been paying about $7 per barrel for transportation of its oil through Sudan. Khartoum wants Juba to pay additional transportation fee of $32 per barrel, including a $22.8 transit fee. South Sudan has rejected the demand, calling it “looting in broad daylight.” Yes its robbery ![]() The shutting down of the pipeline, analysts warned, could worsen the increasingly frosty relations between Juba and Khartoum, putting East African Community States — which have been keen to prevent Sudan and South Sudan from sliding into full-blown war — in a tight spot Information minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the decision was reached at a Council of Ministers meeting chaired by President Salva Kiir on Friday and followed the recent failed talks in Addis Ababa. South Sudan, which gained independence from Sudan last July, is entirely dependent on oil revenues to meet 98 per cent of her budgetary obligations. But Petroleum and Mining minister Stephen Dhieu said the government will adapt “new measures to deal with the new situation” and insisted his country could “also exist without oil. We are able to run government affairs for the next 18 months without oil revenue.” Most EAC countries want to see South Sudan join the trading bloc giving to the resource offering it will be bringing on the table. In crucial oil talks held last week, South Sudan adopted a hardline stance, opting to shut down the facility in two weeks. Juba has accused the North of confiscating oil shipments valued at $214 million while in transit. This move will increase the pressure on Kenya and South Sudan to hasten construction of an alternative pipeline through Lamu. Juba officials see the link to the Kenya Coast as more cost-effective than paying the transport and refinery fees being demanded by Khartoum. The dispute over oil and the announcement of the planned shutdown will also come as a shock for China, whose companies are deeply involved in production and logistics infrastructure. China also consumes more than 75 per cent of the oil exported from Sudan, with the two countries together producing half a million barrels of oil daily. The closing down of the pipeline means the flow of oil exports to China will be disrupted. Should Kenya and South Sudan opt to fast track the construction of the link to Lamu, this will spark a race among foreign governments with the financial muscle to develop infrastructure needed to export the commodity. The project includes construction of an oil refinery and sea port in Lamu, a 1,400 kilometre oil pipeline that will link Juba, the South Sudanese capital to Lamu port and construction of a new Mombasa-Kampala standard gauge railway line. A recent ICG report said the South’s search for an alternative transport corridor to reduce its dependence on the North had opened an opportunity for Kenya to attract billions of dollars in fresh infrastructure investment and an advantage in the scramble for foreign direct investment in East Africa. ![]() Even after secession from the North, South Sudan continues to rely heavily on Port Sudan to take its key export, oil, to the global market. The inability of the two countries to hammer out a fair commercial arrangement has meant South Sudan has not obtained full benefits from its crude oil exports, while Sudan has missed out on a fair commercial return on its oil export infrastructure. ![]() MMH! |
