Onila one doesn't declare themselves funny. Its people who decide if you are or not. That's how stand up comedians come into being.
So tell us,do people find you funny and do u think you can make a career as a comedian?

@pendo i think ur right about the institution thing. for example, when you get into the university, you cope with the stress with the hope that it will be over in 4-6yrs. the reasons why people survive in an institution is the hope that it will be over at a given time. but in marriage, there is no specific date to graduate hence frustration . grin grin
Yes and every Institution has a constitution which we abide with. The marriage constitution must be tougher than a country's  grin grin
And no theres no graduation. You are supposed to live there till death do u part. That's scary  grin
That is why people are advised to wait and wait till they are sure of what they are getting into. Its not for the feeble and weak at mind.
Not for the faint hearted but for those ready to utter 'better or worse'.

This is what I have noticed in many couples. They stop the chase. The very things that used to excite them during courtship cease as routine kicks in.
It becomes boring if you don't know how to bring sparks into it. More like a prison.
Do not therefore generalise because it can only be as good as you make it. Nobody else will do it for you.

This topic is not registering in my mind after whitney's death.

If you cant love the other person stop wasting their time simple. Life is too short to waste it on misery and perserverance.

I wanna spoil this now> Anything institutionalised becomes a bondage and marriage is one hell of an institution.  Where laws abound we tend to feel captives.

But guess what, some people know how to bring life in their institutions.

RomanceRe: Husband Beating In Kenya Is Very Common: National Emergency! by pendo89(f): 12:34am On Feb 11, 2012
Nursing his wounds at the hospital on Wednesday, Mr Kevin Muriuki, 22,shocked swore he would end his six-year marriage shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked :oover what he termed torture from his wife.
The hotel waiter from Skuta Estate is among many husbands in Central Province who claim they have been battered by their wives.
Mr Muriuki showed injuries he said were sustained, including a swollen back, seemingly the result of several whip lashes.
His head also had bumps, and he was limping after three men descended on him. His accusing fingers are pointing at his wife, a 21 year-old beautician, whom he claims hired his attackers.

Do the maths. 22 year old ending his 6 year marriage. angry undecided

There is absolutely no way in hell you can tell me that the whole of 150,000-300,000 men all started being drunks after they got married. It's not possible, you sef check am now!
We all know about husbands beating wives at the slightest whim, but not much is known about wives who beat husbands. It also deserves to be mentioned, husbands are also victims of abuse, and not only the abusers themselves. That's the point I'm trying to make, which this report from Kenya has clearly proven.
This is Kenya we r discussing here. These 'silly minority men' start drinking like fish when there's a coffee/tea boom. Before then they are responsible drinkers.
They drink school fees, rent, take all coffee money to the LovePeddlers etc. Now which hardwoking woman would stand that nonsense?
I am not saying they need a beating but read this from a local daily.

Women in Murang’a County (central)have raised alarm over emerging cases of husbands being sodomised by unknown criminals. Those targeted are mainly drunkards who under the influence of alcohol are unable to get home early.

women have many times held demonstrations to push the government to eradicate sale of illicit brews, which they blame for break-up of families and stagnation in population growth.

Shocked by the turn of events, women have opted to provide security to their spouses by picking them from their drinking dens to ensure they are not subjected to the beastly act by criminals.

These drunks cant even Be Intimate with their wives. Tell me for how long will you keep waiting for ur drunk spouse at the bar on a daily basis when you got kids to take care of? The patience wears off very fast and I guess its the reason they resort to beating.

oK Its still bad but these men need to upgrade.
RomanceRe: Husband Beating In Kenya Is Very Common: National Emergency! by pendo89(f): 11:47pm On Feb 10, 2012

There is no justification for husband battery no matter how much he drinks. The ladies involved in this knew fully well that their husbands were drunks even before they got married to them, and they still married them. This logic shows that husband battery is a trait that may be innate in females from that section of the country, they will still batter their husbands regardless of whether he drinks or not.
LOL !! Theres absolutely no justification for domestic violence. It doesnt matter who is doing it and I have said it in my earlier post.

Are u trying to say that violence is a genetic trait? shocked Can you provide proof and figures?? So the guys who burn necklace thieves on lagos streets have 'burning traits in them? What of you guys who strip women for stealing bb. Its a common occurence. rem '

RomanceRe: Husband Beating In Kenya Is Very Common: National Emergency! by pendo89(f): 11:27pm On Feb 10, 2012
inked .exactly.

those beaten fellows drink like fish using hard earned money from their wives. They are very irresponsible neglecting kids and wives and spend days drinking.
look at those pics and see their tired faces. which hardworking serious man looks like that?

claremont:
I doubt it, I read in the report that between 150,000-300,000 Kenyan men are victims of domestic abuse. These are the men who were courageous enough to be respondents in the survey, we are not talking about the millions dying in silence. I strongly doubt all of them are silly like you would suggest. There must be an element of truth in this report, the whole study can't be fictitious.
your middle name must be statistics. yes and the bolded made u conclude that all kenyan men get beaten!!
I know how statistics and NGO'S go hand in hand. If I want funding for my organisation like Njoka has been doing, yes hes been all over asking for funds, you look for statistics and proof.
That is exactly what is happening. Its ok nway cz some women are monsters if not tamed.
But the exaggeration? ooh puuliz. The no of women getting beaten by men exceeds this by far.  Look here, this guy njoka was mocked by men cz of the work he is doing. They said he was embarrassing the men and he was such a loner! So he had to be more innovative.
Any case now however small gives him miliage and good coverage. Good prospects as well. The funding will start streaming in cz a few lazy drunkards decided to misbehave  grin angry

So you are justifying the widespread and well-documented husband battery that goes on in Kenya simply because a few men come home drunk?! Interesting!
uuuhm do I sound that way? How many men come home drunk daily? How many get beaten as a result? What's the kenyan population?

These men are silly! how do u get beaten and why ?? omg  you must be very useless to receive suc. Women are very patient and take in a lot of trash but there's that breakin point and am sure this happens when they get there.

I emphasise again.ITS NOT JUSTIFIED!!. Its violence and criminal

Pendo needs to come and tell us that this report is fictitious as well! grin
If that man above was my brother I would ask the cops to whip him more!! There's always a story behind every act and I like knowing that not getting moved by media pics.

Kenya has over 43 tribes and central kenya is called the food basket of Kenya. I dont want to start talking geography history and economics here so please google and find out why the white settlers settled in that region called the 'white highlands' in central.

Fastforward >> The tribe occupying that region are the most hardworking in the country. The women very enterprising and extremely hardworking.
There's always a nasty joke in Kenya that women there even Be Intimate while knitting baskets cz they love working to earn income,no time to laze around.
Its the reason central feeds the whole of kenya and produces the country's rich and elite ruling class cz of pure hardwork.

Now with that background, no lazy man stands a chance of succeeding there. These pathetic men getting beaten day in and out like crazy, are usually drunkards who refuse to work like the rest or just silly adulterers. The women due to their hardworking nature cannot stand that, so such cases arise.
I dont see what a 22 year old man is doing getting married!! angry angry

I do not condone but it seems the women are sending a message to the men to stop being lazy and adulterers. grin

But hey look at the good side. These men prefer not to hit back.

The lesson here is if you wanna marry a lady from there make sure you are equally hardworking cz those who are stay! The lazy borns God have mercy.

Its still domestic violence and not good to justify it like av done. I hate any form of violence.

oh is valentine here already? Ok don't send nothing cz we can have a perfect day without exchange of gifts. Here is what I propose.

First we pass by Red Lobster place and do the necessary for two.

We then drive all the way to everglades (sorry but  am so in love with that place), and wrap it up with lunch at Kirby Storter Park. Very peaceful.

A yachting tour plus fishing while enjoying the cool breeze in the afternoon.

In the late afternoon time to go dance salsa at the Bayside and enjoy Pina colada and Margarita

Evening is my favorite. Miami Beach Marina is a perfect spot for the perfect sea dish.

If we still got any energy left we go to ocean drive for more salsa dance and relaxation till morning.

And that is the end of valentine day.

Okay back to reality! @ post.

RomanceRe: Husband Beating In Kenya Is Very Common: National Emergency! by pendo89(f): 8:13pm On Feb 10, 2012
people just like arguing, we end up missing the point. This is domestic violence at its worst and it doesnt matter who is beating who.

its still violence and people need better ways of resolving disputes.

A man who beats up a woman is not a hero but a coward! This argument seems to suggest that it would have been less shameful had it been the other way round! so is the woman who beats up her hubby. Coward. People must learn to just walk away from boiling lava b4 it erupts.

And crime is not limited to any country in particular. Its false for me to jump into conclusions about this country based on what I read on the crime section daily plus some nasty threads with links, esp the dehumanising ones of girls getting stripped in public for bb.

Jeez wht about the dude who ate his baby in guinea ? take a walk down that section and see blood dripping from hs mouth!
People in that country now hide their kids for fear of such lunatics! but is it fair to say that guinea men eat babies    undecided  cz one lunatic father chewed his baby like ball gum? angry angry

And fyi statistics will always favour of whoever is benefiting, in this case a men's organisation called 'maendeleo ya wanaume' since there is a sister one which has been so much in favour of women suffering abuse. The men need a voice too oh and lots of funding. grin

THIS 22 YR OLD GUY WAS BEATEN BY GOONS HIRED BY THE WIFE. She is not the one who beat him up. lol

Interesting though cz I will tell you the rest of the world, Africa included find it difficult to differentiate between a Ghanaian and a Nigerian.

Its therefore a vain effort cz the same european will keep saying 'africans' not any country in particular when he wants to criticise.
Foreign AffairsRe: 50 Cent Visits Famine Victims In Somalia And Kenya As Part Of World Food Program by pendo89(f): 7:05am On Feb 10, 2012
Oooh not again!  undecided angry Is there famine in Kenya?? Halohuh how come am not aware?

Look at that silly meal!! They have to boil only maize for poor orphaned kids so as to get 50 cents' heart touched. On a normal day that meal would contain beans to make it balanced!! But hey 50 cent is here and we must show him how needy we are. I only wish the help was continous to see those kids grew up well fed and educated, not the usual Hit and Run affairs of celebs. angry

Every prominent personality who has ever set foot in Kenya has toured Kibera. EA's largest slum. And the place remains the same!
From Bill and Melinda to Branson,Flavio Briatore,Naomi who hasn't toured Kibera!! undecided

Who is benefiting here> The NGO's and the celebs Image of course.  I am tired.

Fact is,there's a poor man's mentality that has refused to leave these people even when the goverment has offered to move them out of the slums and upgrade them! They just love the cheap slum life and its become part and parcel of them.
Kibera Slum is the face they all use to get donor funds. No slum no donor funds. Who doesn't know the tricks employed by NGO'S? They pride in misery and poverty to make gains! after all biz must go on.No?? undecided

Sad thing is, whenever these prominent figures come they assume they are coming to help but the poor dwellers hardly feel the effect of their visits. Life goes on as usual and they don't even give a damn!!.
The slum has abundant water! It's just not piped cz the pipes are vandalised and some people want to make quick cash by selling the same city council water to people using jerrycans! denying the council of cash! They vandalise elec. cables to avoid paying electricity and end up getting burnt in case of electrical mishap. They are in control of their own small and thriving economy and are frustrating goverment's effort to upgrade or relocate them cz everything is cheap!
The kids grow up becoming part of the crazy ecosystem. undecided

Back to Somalia  angry angry

The famine in somalia is MAN-MADE! We all know that the elshabaabs have refused people access to their farms even during the rainy season! We hope the situation changes soon after the current war! Somali is has suffered because of war! not famine.
One caused the other so,why not deal with the cause first??
How many UN organisations have poured food and other donations in that country for years with no improvement at all? Infact the same militia has denied them entry into somalia and have therefore resorted to helping them somalis from kenya refugee camps in Kakuma and Daadab!
If the US or whatever UN org are interested in somali then the best they would have done was to get rid of the militia or else for how long are they going to rely on relief food??  angry angry

ok so hes donating 1B to WFP. (3/4 of which will cover NGOs' costs including, expensive 5 course lunches, rents in high end areas, fuel guzzling vehicles, salaries and allowances).   grin
Is there a permanent solution to ending world's hunger with all these billions flying across,or shall we live on relief food everytime severe weather hits.?? angry

Some Western approach to solving Africa's problems disgust me.
