If Peter Obi wins Nigeria will burn...

Atiku cannot win, he has handicapped himself early on and divided his party

The only thing that can save this country is a multi ethnic military coup...

We need a dictator who will give us peace, peace of mind.

God Bless Nigeria
Peter Obi will win and Nigeria will not burn.

And any military idiot that organizes a coup will be scorched out of the face of the earth.

During the colonial period Igbo where the human resources to run the civil service .is not uncommon too see a Igbo Man as district officer in the North or cashier of agriculture agency in the North but the Northern premier started building the Manpower by training Northerners world wide .this was the first fear of the Igbo .their advantage will be over so they where calling for Independence .while the North refused cos the white man should not go until there enough man power from the North .after failing in 53 the igbo man still when to destroy region unify Nigeria into a single state so he will be on top .even killing northern leaders that was not interested in this type of arrangement and want to be in northern region
After failing to dominate Nigeria as he wish when to carve out biafra where he. Can lord over ijaws and isheriki and other
After failing he now tried to dominate the commercial aspect of Nigeria via trading . After failing he now.invented IPOB and ESN to get a smaller biafra after failing now it Peter obi or death . In the 53 only Igbo where brick layer and car mechanic and plumbers .if you want to build a house you have to go to sabon gari and hire a igbo that time has past the North is not interested in dominating the east of biafra land .na una dey find trouble up and down North and west

gidgiddy:
Coups and coup plotters should be roundly condemned by all. To sieze power by the barrel of the gun has no place in modern society.

But a situation where some coup plotters are vilified, while others are honoured, leaves much to be desired. Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu has been in the News lately on the anniversary of him leading Nigerias first coup. Some have called him names and even put an ethnic tag to that coup because he is Igbo. Nzeogwu's coup claimed about 20 lives

What some people may not know is that Nigerias bloodiest coup plotter, the man who led Nigerias second coup that claimed well over 300 lives, is today one of the most honoured men in the country

General Murtala Mohammed led Nigeria's second coup, he is the only Nigerian to have led two different coups. His first coup targeted Southerners, mainly Igbos, and spared his fellow Northerners. His coup killed over 300 people including the Head Of State, Aguiyi Ironsi, as well as the Military Governor of the Western Region, Lt Colonel Fajuyi.

Despite being the Bloodiest coup plotter in Nigeria's history, Murtala Mohammed has Airports, Highways, landmarks and even lectures named after him. Murtala Mohammed was even put on the 20 Naira note, an honour countries of the world usually give to their greatest citizens

How did the bloodiest coup plotter in Nigeria's history become one of its most honoured men? Is it because he is a Northerner?
Because of the narrative of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Press who painted him as a Saint since his own coup seemed to target only Igbos.

But with that said, I think Murtala Mohammed did initiate sincere and patriotic reforms that was supposed to put Nigeria on the right track.

Again, Col. Buka Suka Dimka’s coup has been termed the bloodiest coup in the history of Nigeria, and not Murtala’s coup.

So it doesn’t matter if he’s right or not, as long as he’s Igbo, you are not ready to listen or believe him?

And you call yourself a rational human being?

Is it that this is the first time you are hearing that Murtala Mohammed deposed Yakubu Gowon from power or you are deliberately feigning ignorance?

He also had active participation in the 1966 retaliatory coup of the North against Aguiyi Ironsi government.

Which of these is a lie?

Or are you disappointed that history is now finally being told from different perspective rather than the one angle and malicious narrative you guys have told with your Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Press and sort to protect for decades?
Politics › 2023: Has Archbishop Of Catenbury Endorsed Obi? by Penguin2(op):
After his session at the Chatham House yesterday, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, was guest to the Archbishop of Catenbury; a luxury that was not enjoyed by Bola Tinubu of APC when he went for the same event.

Now, for those who may not understand why visit to the Archbishop of Catenbury, and head of the Anglican Communion in the world, is significant, here’s a brief background.

After King Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church in 1534, and established the Church of England (Anglican Church), the Archbishop of Catenbury became the highest religious figure of England while the King now became both the religious and political leader of England.

This was how the Archbishop of Catenbury became powerful because he is actually part of the establishment of the English dynasty.

Now, in 2015, he met with only one presidential candidate, Muhammed Buhari, who ended up winning the election. He repeated it in 2019.

This year, he has again, met with only one presidential candidate and gone further to pray with him in his private chapel and allowed pictures to be taken.

Do you think this is not an endorsement?

Five more Jigawa candidates contesting for the Jigawa State House of Assembly under the Labour Party have decamped to the All Progressives Congress Party (APC).

State chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Aminu Sani Gumel stated this while receiving the decampees in the party’s headquarters, Dutse.

He lauded the new members for joining the APC and promised to carry them along in all party activities.

Gumel also urged the decampees to work for the victory of the party during the general election.

The defectors include Ammaru Kabiru Maigatari Constituency, Isah Garba Roni, Umar Adamu Dutse, Yusif Muhammad Ringim, and Zangina Bala Gagarawa constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Yusif Muhammad Ringim said they joined the APC for its laudable achievements under Governor Badaru.

Recall that eight Labour Party state assembly candidates also dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC recently.

Politics › See Full List Of 1966 Coup Plotters And Their Tribe. by Penguin2(op):
It is often said that lies told over and over again without being countered, tends to come to be held as true. But as always, truth always catches up with it.

For over 50 years, some section of Nigerians have made it a point of duty to reinforce the narrative that the 1966 coup was an Igbo coup because it was led by Kaduna Nzeogwu, an Igbo man. Even though this same people claim that Nzeogwu’s village and town is not Igboland, and that the rest of Nzeogwu’s kinsmen are not Igbos; a narrative they have vigorously and fiercely pursued and have reinforced for decades.

But with their monopoly on the media now beginning to wane due to the advent of Social Media, their control of narrative of events, which they have often distorted to suit their primordial biases, is fading , and a more balanced narrative that captures the wholistic happenings of what transpired is now being told.

So, in regards to the 1966 coup which these elements have hitherto painted as an Igbo coup, continually giving only the names of the 7 Igbo officers who participated in the ill fated coup while leaving out other officers from other tribes who equally participated actively in the coup.

So, find here the full list of the coup plotters and their tribes:-

1. Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu(Igbo)
2. Major Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba) author of "Why we struck"
3. Capt. G. Adeleke(Yoruba)
4. Maj. Ifeajuna(Igbo)
5. Lt. Fola Oyewole(Yoruba) author of "The reluctant rebel"
6. Lt. R. Egbiko(Esan)
7. Lt. Tijani Katsina(Hausa/Fulani)
8. Lt. O. Olafemiyan(Yoruba)
9. Capt. Gibson Jalo(Bali)
10. Capt. Swanton(Middle Belt)
11. Lt. Hope Harris Eghagha (Urhobo)
12. Lt. Dag Warribor(Ijaw)
13. 2nd Lt. Saleh Dambo(Hausa)
14. 2nd Lt. John Atom Kpera (Tiv).

There you have it. But I’m sure that apart from Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna, you probably never heard of the names of the other guys and the question is why? And it is because some elements deliberately chose to tell a one sided story to further their ill agenda against a particular tribe and people; and after over 50 years the war ended, this same people are still hellbent on selling this same old and erroneous and fallacious narrative for the same primordial agenda.

So, I ask you, having seen the full list of the coup plotters, do you still think it was an Igbo coup?

And if your answer to the above question is “Yes”.

Then tell us why Murtala Muhammed and Buhari coups were not Fulani coups,

Tell us why Buka Suka Dimka coup was not a Plateau coup,

Tell us why IBB coup was not an Hausa coup,

Tell us why Gideon Orkar’s coup was not a Tiv coup,

Tell us why Abacha coup was not a Kanuri coup,

And only the one led by Nzeogwu was given that ethnic label and reinforced till today?

Ademulegun (a Yoruba man) is killed, but JTU Aguiyi Ironsi (an Igbo man), the most senior officer of the NA is spared, and rewarded with Head of State.

Haba, even if the coup plotters had no tribal intentions, you can't blame people for thinking that they had.

The Muritala coup was a reprisal coup targeted at Igbos.

Dimka's coup did not have any close resemblance to Nzeogwu's coup because it didn't seem to target tribes.

Buhari's coup did not target any specific tribe. In fact, it toppled a fellow Fulani man.

IBB's coup too did not target any tribe or spared any tribe.
These are not the things in contention.

What is in contention here is that we want to know if Okpanam is now an Igboland or still not?

I laugh when you all tried to deny the igboness of Patrick Chukwuma Nzeogwu. So what you are all trying to say now is that Anioma people are not Igbo, people that speak variant of Igbos and are referred to as sub group of Igbos...keep on denying your people because of the lies you intend to tell.

Kaduna's greedy actions directly and indirectly led to the civil war. The killing of the northern Oligarch by the Igboitic movement of Nzeogwu gave rise to the killings of the Igbos in the North.

Initially there have been history of serious acrimony between the Igbos and the Northerners over Igbo trying to dominate trade and government...like they are trying to do in Lagos right now, only the Yorubas are more superior in putting them in proper check.

Even though the unrest started during the time of Aguyi Ironsi, a counter coup that led to the murder of Aguyi Ironsi and other Igbo officers aggravated everything. This was the key ingredients needed by Ojokwu to begin his own personal agenda as the North boiled over with their perceived control of government after the coup with enough impetus to attack the Igbos.

The federal government led by the north was complacent because they actually wanted to give their people a breather from the choking effects the Igbos have had on them over the years. Remember the government of Tafewa Balewa was formed by aligning with Nnamdi Azikwe against the Yorubas and the Igbos finally betrayed them by killing their leaders and sparing theirs.

Igbos have the nack to annoy their host by unnecessary show of dominance. Like telling the Yorubas that Lagos is no mans land, I just this will not spill over some day. We are witnessing mass deportation of Igbos from Dubai, India and SA for reasons similar to this. Strange enough, Igbos do not experience this problem at home.

Nzeogwu was a friend of Ojukwu and fought on the side of the Biafrans, in fact he was killed in action during the civil war. It was Ojukwu that released from prison after Aguyi Ironsi sentenced him to a kind of protected custody in Aba prison.

When the Igbos want to start their own narrations, they will begin by claiming the killings was the major reason for starting Biafra, but won't say anything about the actions and activities that provoked the killings. Declaring Biafra was not the major reason to stop the carnage but working on tasking the Federal government to stop the killing decisively. Instead Ojukwu was looking for the control of the region?
My problem is that you are not getting the point or pretending not to get the point.

Before now, some of you claim that there are no Igbos anywhere apart from Southeast.

You tell the Aniomas, Ikas, Ikwerres, Ukwuanis, etc, never to accept they are Igbos.

You tell them they originated from Benin.

But every January 15th, you guys remember Nzeogwu for leading an Igbo coup and how Igbos must suffer till thine kingdom come for his actions.

So, the question is, “have you guys now finally accepted that the Aniomas, Ukwuanis, Ikas, Ikwerres, etc, are Igbos, and their lands, Igboland?

No one is denying Nzeogwu to be Igbo. Our fathers didn't deny him neither are we in this generation denying him. Our disagreement stems from two things which are;
1. The ethnic identity of a coup plotter isn't a justification for the massacre of innocent people just because they share the same grouping. Why the state sponsored pogrom that later led to a genocidal war?
2. After the end of the Biafran war, a new and wicked policy of limiting Igbos to the South East only was promoted. We now hear Nzeogwu's home town of Okpanam to be South South and/Niger Delta which should signify a non-Igbo area but whenever the 1966 coup was been discussed, it isn't associated with the new identity given to his home town.

Therefore, we want to call out hypocrites like you who keep to this narrative to come open for once in your miserable lives and answer the damn question. Is Nzeogwu's home town and senatorial zone Igbo land or not?

JAMO84:
Perhaps, the most talked about issue in Nigeria since yesterday the 15th of January 2023 was the January 1967 coup, largely planned and executed by mostly Young officers of Igbo extraction. This year's anniversary of that bloody coup is different and more significant, because election is approaching, and for the first time since 1983, an Igbo person is one of the top 3 candidates with a good chance of emerging the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. The coup is always being remembered by the Northerners who suffered the most casualties.

Now back to the topic of this article, since the discussion broke out yesterday, the Igbos on social media have been trying very hard (obviously in vain), to change the long standing narrative that the insurrection was Igbo project. Some went as far as saying that Kaduna Nzeogu, the main character and leading Mastermind of the dastardly act was not Igbo, that he was an indegine of Opanam in the present day Delta State. Others say he was born and bred in Kaduna, that he was more of a Northerners than a Igbo. My questions are:

1) Why do Igbos always run away from taking responsibilities?

2) If Igbos can claim Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and always boasting with her many success, why is Nzeogu being rejected, despite they both hail from Delta State?

3) Why do Igbos always paint the picture of self perfection? As far as I can remember, none of their bad time leaders ever get blamed for anything:

a) Their sons did the First ever coup in Nigeria, it's every tribe's fault

b) Ojukwu fled to ivory Coast after leading thousands to death, it's Awolowo's fault.

a) Azikiwe refused to be prime Minister because he wanted to punish Yoruba for rejecting him in 1954, it's Awolowo's fault.

d) Nnamdi Kanu is running a terror group that is killing Igbos almost on daily basis, it's Buhari's fault

e) Simon Ekpa is declaring all sorts of sit at home, and leaving dead bodies along the way, it's Tinubu sponsoring him.....

Every single bad issue they have, someone else is responsible. If you don't acknowledge your problem and work on it, you might never find solutions. The Northerners formed civilian JTF to deal with bh and bandits. Yoruba formed Amotekun to deal with headsmen and ritualists. Both tribes accepted the initiatives and give their full supports and commitments. When Igbo governors formed Ebubeagu to tackle Insecurity in the South East region, the Igbo populace tagged them enemies of ndigbo.

Some people might ask me why I am concerned, Yoruba have an adage that says: when your next door neighbor is eating cockroach in day time, and you refused to warn or stop him, he might cough endlessly at night and deny you your sleep.

GOD FORBID WE START SEEING IGBO REFUGEE CAMPS IN THE SOUTH WEST AND OTHER PARTS OF NIGERIA
You missed the point of the argument…

You people always claim that Delta State is not Igboland.

You tell the Ikas, the Aniomas, the Ukwuanis, etc, to insist that they are not Igbos.

Same thing you do with the Ikwerres, the Ahaodas, the Etches, etc, of Rivers State.

But surreptitiously, when it comes to talking about the negative actions of people from these areas have performed, you lump it to the Igbos.

So, no one is saying Nzeogwu is not Igbo, the argument is for you guys to choose a side…

Are Aniomas, Ikas, Ukwuanis, Ikwerres, Etches, Ahaodas, etc, Igbos or not?

Or are those people not Igbo but only Nzeogwu is Igbo?

Lol

Their ragtag lapdogs in DSS can now come to try nonsense let’s see.

Tinubu should go test his popularity at the polls without hoping to use money and buy every INEC official and every voter.

Ndi ala!

But the big question is, where is Buhari whilst his appointees are working at cross purposes? Is the DSS not supposed to be Emefiele’s number one protector?

Who is the DSS taking orders from?

And who are the current personnels in Emefiele’s entourage taking orders from?

dont get it wrong,i understand, your point of view concerning this, but all those other coups didn't follow similar rythme as that of nzeogu,if you read history it was the first coup to happen in Nigeria, ironsi didn't have a hard time defeating nzeogu to regain control,as a matter of fact there was hardly any battle, and in the end nzeogu wasn't put in prison as it should be,he was walking as a free man,so many red flags hanging around, not to mention how he converted money given to him for a different purpose to arm his colleagues, also there was a controversial cartoon poster about the northern elites who where killed during the coupe one year after it happened which triggered mixed feelings, you cant talk about other coups with highlighting the first.the first of anything is the best reference because each that follows is an exact replica of the first, nzeogu thought our soldiers a bad thing and they followed same as festus okotie eboh thought our politicians corruption. i understand your pain, its not easy to be always reminded of a hurt or wrong you've done, but history exists so you can prove people wrong.
No!

Nzeogwu was not allowed to roam free in the street. He was arrested and imprisoned with his co-plotters.

The only misgiving people had with Ironsi was the fact that he was not swift with sentencing them to firing squad.

Please get your facts right.
