Politics › Re: Is This True Igbo's From Ebonyi by Penguin2: 11:38am On Jun 24, 2021 |
Isusugbaghada: A keke driver( Igbo from Ebony I) in my area in Benin, Upper sokponba to be precise came to my compound to buy food from a food seller ( Igbo from Anambra) who rented one of the store from the compound
After eating, he asked of his ebonyi brother that who also rented an apartment there( also a keke driver). The woman told him the guy have not return from his ebonyi village trip since he traveled that he went to do farm work since his father and mother are dead and he is the senior son.
So the other keke guy who came to eat just started by saying " why will a guy like just go to the village to stay that Igbo's don't stay in village" ( I have no business with that )
But what topped it was when he started saying " as he is in ebonyi, he has a land in his village and that his father also have hause but that is for his father not him that if he wanted to make farm he would have use his own land since he cannot sell it"
"SINCE HE CANNOT SELL IT" ( caught my attention )
So I ask him why
He said that they dont sell lands
Then I ask " to stranger or" ?
He said "YES"
He said if an indigene want a land, the community will give a potion to him and not to strangers and that the only people that build house in his community are the indigene that stranger are not allowed to own a land not talk of building on it.
So I ask " what if you try to sell yours what will happen ?
He said " the community will find you guilty and will be dealt with" ( all this he said with total confidence )
So I became angry partially I must say then I told him "but Igbo's are allowed to owned land as they want in benin as long as they fulfill the necessary things?
Then he said " that is Benin but not in his place that all big and small house in his place can only be own by indigene
To be truthful I am surprise The guy is from Ngbo in Ebonyi state. They are the only people that do that rubbish in Ebonyi if not in entire Igboland. Don’t use what he said to judge the rest of Ndigbo. |

Because while Awolowo and Akintola were engaged in supremacy war in the West which destabilized its economy, the North was people by illiterates and led by Sardauna who was more interested in Sharia Law than development.
It was only the Eastern Region that enjoyed relative peace and run by the best brains, rapid development was the result.

Mikecold: of course atiku obi ticket won the 2019 election, it was buhari that rigged that election
Since he is gone atiku can take over, I prefer a youth or Southerner but what wins election is number See guy, I’m Igbo... But when I drop sentiments, I know Osinbajo is a good candidate even Amaechi but APC is not worth returning to power. Something is fundamentally wrong with that party. No bias. Then we come to PDP, Peter Obi, Donald Duke, etc, would have made the best candidates, but the north won’t vote for these niggurs. That’s why sometimes you got to be realistic about some certain things and accept what is most practical. With Buhari out of the ballot, Atiku will easily win the election with Obi as running mate. Then, like I always say, it is the duty of Atiku to water the ground for Obi to succeed him. And by watering the ground I mean to get people in the north who will douse the apprehension they have of the Igbos and warn Imams not to campaign against Igbo man in the Mosques again. |

Asgard73: When you see a Yoruba in east in particular... they’re always humble and scary.. there’s this fear.. they don’t even speak Yoruba so that you don’t identify them.. Their sins are after them.
Yoruba people always judge people from their Yoruba myopic lens.. They believe everything is based on how Yoruba see a things.. this is as a result of tribalism They left their states and villages for Lagos.. leaving behind ghosted cites and deserted environment You see them come around and say east is deserted... reason why igbos travels to Lagos..they use themselves to compare others, while in their oyo villages
I know them too well...
But I think is good...
While the south and east are seriously engaging in development and expanding.. Yoruba people are waiting for NBS statistics or some Yoruba owned statistics You know they controlled the media for too long and thereby controlled the narrative of how the rest of the country sees the rest of the country. But the advent of social media has taken that power away from them and trust me they are pained. You remember what happened during #EndSars? They wanted to turn things on its head and blame Ndigbo and IPOB for the several arson that occurred in Lagos even for the invasion of Oba’s palace. Just imagine it was the era of traditional media, they would have succeeded with the lie and find excuse to destroy and loot Igbo businesses, but thank God for Social media, every of their lie was met with corresponding truth until they gave up. Those guys eh.... |

Let's leave this system and adopt Communism, This American style Democracy is Evil Period. Honestly, I’m beginning to dislike democracy. I feel it allows illiterate or biased majority to make what sometimes is a more sentimental decision than it’s practical and valuable to the nation. I feel we should adopt a system that allows only informed and educated people to make the choice of who becomes a president or governor. And if you asked me, I would say that tenure in leadership should be abolished to allow someone with sound idea and vision enough time to entrench his ideas. If Singapore had been a democracy when Lee Kuan Yew became president of the country, he wouldn’t have stayed as long as he did to move the country from third world country to a first world country. Democracy is flawed; highly so. |

Politics › Re: Charles Soludo Wins APGA governorship Primaries by Penguin2: 7:16am On Jun 24, 2021 |
EmekaA125: Lol. Let me clarify issues to you Nne.
There's no crisis in APGA. The section 85 of the Electoral Act which people are quoting was referring to notifying INEC 21days before the election of Ad-hoc Ward delegate for Primaries. This is peculiar to PDP only because it's enshrined in their constitution.
Coming to APGA, the party notified INEC for over a month ago about the conduct of their Primaries scheduled to hold on July 23rd. APGA constitution didn't state that INEC will be notified for Ad-hoc Ward Congress but for Primary election outrightly.
The Ward Congress election notification pertains to PDP alone while that of APGA states that INEC must be notified 21days before the conduct of Primaries only and not Ad-hoc Ward delegate election.
APGA is very much in the race. But in the courts, which do you think will take precedence? APGA constitution or the Electoral Acts? |
Politics › Re: Charles Soludo Wins APGA governorship Primaries by Penguin2: 7:12am On Jun 24, 2021 |
NacoAba: This is too bad. Anambra should watch out for IMO State or Bayelsa State abracadabra. In my opinion, Anambra should rally round PDP, if not, they will regret. I see Soludo winning then the supreme Court will remove him, then APC that will come second will be declared winner . So better PDP win, apga come second then APC third. So imo State abracadabra won't have a chance in Anambra. But the courts have also started with PDP too. APC is just playing dangerous politics. |

Romance › Re: After Introduction, I’m Seeing Too Many Red Flags by Penguin2: 1:38am On Jun 24, 2021 |
mugnmuffin: Dear Nairalanders, I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I subtly try to nudge him to consider getting saved, i.e acknowledging Christ as lord and savior and becoming born again but he is content with his laidback Christian life.
Earlier this year, he asked to meet my parents and I let him. My parents like him especially because my younger sis is married and they have been waiting for me too. They’re glad I’ve someone. However, after the introduction,I regret it. I’m now certain that he’s not the one. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. So it’s like my associating with him is a minus for my spiritual life and that’s a huge cause for concern.
At this point, I want to tell my parents I am not convinced it’s him but I’m afraid of the disappointment this will cause. *sigh* I’ll appreciate your thoughts, comments, criticisms... I’m sure by now you have been convinced to accept that you will be the most stupid person of the year if you leave a man that loves you because of the lies they tell you at your mushroom church. By saying you gave your life to Christ when you joined Pentecostalism, are you suggesting that the baptism of the Catholic Church is invalid? Who are you to judge who is a true Christian and who is not? I feel so angry at you right now. The truth is that the young man doesn’t deserve to been yorked with someone like you who has exchanged her brains with religious fundamentalism and stupid lies told u by pastors. Sorry! |
