Sports / Re: ‘I Was Better Than Maldini’ - Taribo West by pharmow: 3:07am On Sep 21, 2013
tbaba1234: Actually at his prime, Taribo was at least on the same level with Maldini. He was a terrific player for Auxerre and Inter. I suspect that there are a lot of kids commenting here otherwise there is nothing wrong with his statement.

The only reasonable comment in the entire thread.

Taribo West may not be better than Maldini as he claimed, but am sure that in his prime he was one of the best defenders in the world and he was very close to Maldini level if not on the same level. The fact that he was selected for the World best eleven two different times support this. I wouldn't disagree with what he said that the club gave preferential to italian players considering the fact that Costacurta was selected ahead him. People should try and make reasonable comment on this forum cos most of the time I read response to topics, I understand the reason why so many youths are unemployed in Nigeria.

Travel / Re: Nigerians In The Desert Trying To Travel To Europe by pharmow: 3:49pm On Sep 09, 2013
deejay_harry1: well to those who could not decipher wat d guy was saying in igbo.. this is wat he said..

he was trying to let us know, tht this were people from nigeria, on their way to europe, but couldnt make it...

he said, tht they kept looking for water, and even resorted to drinking their urines, but even the urines got exhausted... then they died of hunger and thirst... and he said tht d degree of sun in tht desert is just too much, therefore if it keeps shinning down on those dead bodies, it wouldnt decay for even hundred years. .

he now encouraged nigerians tht are so eager to travel out, to stay back, instead of dying this useless way... and he also said tht if God would want to bless yhu, he can still locate u where ever u are.. whether in a nigerian village or abroad..

THIS was the best i could make out from wat he was saying.

Thank you so much for the summary. What a gruesome way to lose such significant number of youths

Travel / Re: "I Will Tear And Burn My Nigerian Passport, Once I Become Canadian" - Nigerian by pharmow: 4:21pm On Aug 24, 2013
clear throat........ Let truth be told, the attitude of Nigeria Embassy workers in Ottawa Canada were very unprofessional and annoying. A friend of my needed his driver's abstract to process Canadian driver license, U wont believe for more than 2 months these people haven't responded. This kinna of story is what you hear when you have anything to do with the Nigerian embassy.

For the lady that said she will tear and burn her passport, I think it is very naive of her to have said that on National TV. Beside, London Ontario to Ottawa is not as far as the dude that came all the way from Calgary.

RIP to the Legend

This guy displayed one of the greatest patriotism ever shown in the history of the country. He played his heart out while in service of his nation. What has the government of the country done in honor of this hero to immotalize him apart from his decaying statue in front of the dilapidated national stadium in surulere?

PS: This is one of the reasons why so many people question the benefit of giving everything they have to the service of our country

Am happy for this little boy parent cos I could see that they are outside Nigeria where there are enough facilities for development of his skills. About the boy skills, I can see a more mature playing than his peer, good ball composure, nice ball control and good team playing. I wish him all the best and looking forward to hear his name at the high level in a couple of years

Politics / Re: List Of People Pardoned By Bill Clinton (Re: GEJ's Pardon Of Alamieyeseigha) by pharmow: 6:44pm On Mar 25, 2013
Is not a big issue if GEJ decided to use his power in the most wrongful way by pardoning his master and benefactor, we all know that GEJ is a loyalist to the core but people's grievance about the issue is the fact that he included Diya and co names in the list of people pardoned. As the president of the country he ought to know that these people have been pardoned and he should not take Nigerians as foools with the cover up
