While the womans intentions may be good.the video was totally unprofessional.

At best she should have reported her succes rates and rwcommend others try the same but not ru bish other recommendations and clinical trials.

As a professional she should know only clinical trials can be utilized to determine the efficacy and safety of any drug.Any other process and we sanction half poisons as safe drugs.

PS shes camerounian not Nigerian

You mean they have not been released? Getting to almost 2 weeks now? Meaning that there'll most likely be fatalities among the victims by now. Not to mention the atrocious ordeal of the female victims in the hands of these brutes, being in captivity for .
Now you understand the point to the title of this thread. How many more remain unreported.Who is collating information as regards the scale of the problem

At what point do we say this has happened enough for a National response by our esteemed security agencies. How many more families havr to be victim

Ths individual is still yet to be released.kidnappers are still asking for a very heavy sum despite pleas from the family to accept less

Are you following up with this Ekeson matter to be sure none of the passengers has made it out? Besides, was it one of these 'luxurious' long buses that ply Lagos - Abuja night journey? Meaning that the kidnap happened in the wee hours?

More details please.
The relatives all went to Ekeson in the morning. They demanded for ransom from all of them individually.Ekesons driver was shot. They held their conductor and asked the bus company to ransom him.

All relatives are raising funds individually.Theyve still not released them.Still asking for ransom.

What i find strange is the lack of media report.and the timely response to the matter. The first 12 hrs are the golden period for any succesful tactical operatio to get them back. How do you pack 50pple into the bush and the roads are not closed or curfew declared till they are found.

This is starting to be the new normal because they get away with it due to NO national or state response.Dont count hunters and neighbourhood watch.search and rescue is not their brief
CrimeRe: Kogi: Three Kidnappers Killed, Two Others Caught By Hunters (Disturbing Photos) by phineas: 8:26am On Jul 26, 2020
Hunters and neighbourhood watch.

What happened to early response by trained State and response antikidnapping unit

50 passengers of Ekeson were kidnapped from 1 bus on their way to Abuja on lokaja abuja road.Relatives are yet to secure their release. But it is not the role of relatives, hunters or neighbourhood watch

We need a strong National response including detection arrests and special courts for their swift prosecution and sentencing

Kidnappings must end.no one who makes a living stealing othet peoples freedom for money should be allowed to go scot free with the proceeds of his or her crime

Still no word on this event that happened.I start to wonder how many families have paid ransoms quietly, how many have lost relatives.

What is the National hotline or response numbers for kidnappings

This should not be the new norm.meanwhile the 50 passengers abducted from Ekeson on lokoja Abuja road have still not been returned as at this night day 4.Still no word in the news

I also need to add that we cannot leave funding for the police to the Government alone. The police force cannot be deployed witbout full support and protection which costs money

Private sector should use the same energy they did mobilizing funds for COVID to join the same drive for a sager Nigeria

The police need funding. They need armoured security vehicles. The latest satelite systems and whatever they need to combat this menace.

The funds Nigerians are paying to kidnappers are best donated for a stronger police towards a safer country

The context again.50 passengers of a mass transit vehicle kidnapped on their way to the capital of the Nation. These occured days after the daughter of a retired military officer and a Soldier were killed while others where kidnapped. This means probably there was not enough response to the first kidnapp.Enough for a repeat of 50 persons on the same road Lokoja to Abuja.

How do people kidnapp 50 persons and nothing happens.

Evil thrives when good men say nothing
CrimeWhy Is There Low Media Coverage Of Kidnappings On Lokoja Abuja Road by phineas(op):
Lokoja Abuja road has become a hotbed of kidnappings in the last 1 month.Fast becoming like the Kaduna road

2 daya ago passengers on a mass transit (Ekeson) travelling from Lagos to Abuja were kidnapped and taken to the bush

It appears this has been happening for some time now to travellers on that road based on jersay but a quick search of the internet for the last 2 days show not 1 news outlet has covered this.news on lokoja Abuja kidnappings in 2020 are quite few.Less than 3 despite repeated occurences. A lot of Families are in despair but no publicity, no statement They just pay the ransoms quietly while those who cannot pay loose their loved ones

I am an advocate for not publicizing the evil works of mad men so as not to give them the publicity they need but this is different.

The quiet around these crimes takes away the pressure from them.It gives them time to cause havoc before a full scale response is instituted by the right quaters. It allows other Nigerians who would have taken precautions fall victim

Lastly from riyom jos to kabba Kogi, coommunity members that have reported or arrested kidnappers and handed them to the police have had large scale reprisals against their communities by affiliates of the kidnappers. So the imperative is not on the communities to report and we should not expect tthem to

We all know the first 24hrs after a kidnapping are the golden hrs but the apparatus of State will say they are not informed. And in Nigeria it appears it does not matter till an alarming number have been affected. This is not right.

Where do people report kidnappings to.Whats the number of the antikidnapping team to alert them for that road. Before a physical visit to the station. What is the National response. Why is no curfew declared. Why can these kidnappers rumoured to be foreign elements operate with such impunity unhindered. Why is everyone quiet.

EducationRe: Nigerians Pay N152b Tuition In UK by phineas: 11:49am On Jun 29, 2020
TenthMan:
FIX YOUR EDUCATION SYSTEM - ESPECIALLY THE POOR HUMAN RESOURCES IN THESE TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

It is only going to get worse. As these institutions in Nigeria collapse and more people can afford sending their kids overseas, more Nigerians will send money away from the country, investing in other countries' education sector. Germany today is heavily advertising. Canada is doing the same on YouTube calling for international students. UK and US have both been benefiting. Even Ghana is doing so. By the adverts something tells you they are targeting Nigerians. When will foreigners leave their country and come to a Nigerian school as international students? While it is a cause for concern, anyone who can afford it and desires it should send their kids overseas for higher education. Despite the limited infrastructure, it would still have been manageable if we had friendly, efficient academic and non-academic staff willing to manage and make use of the limited resources to better the lives of those they come across. To teach, educate and eventually empower. But no, we had to have demoniacs there.

Besides poor infrastructural development, and little or no equipment to promote learning in these modern times, there is untold human wickedness by Academic and Non-Academic Staff in Nigerian Universities. This is the biggest issue unspoken about. These persons are generally wicked. It was not these kids that made your lives miserable. The students are not the Government who pay you poor salaries. You Academic and Non-academic staff are not the only ones with problems and poor pay. Even the staff of Total Exploration and Production would like their salaries increased.

I understand the part of infrastructural development and the lack of teaching aids and equipment. However, this is one just one part. The Human Wickedness in these institutions is just alarming and a thing of greater/bigger concern to me. They are rude, disrespectful, wicked, act like gods that must not be questioned, jealous if they think you are doing better or know better, extortionists, very poor researchers, ignorant, haughty, vengeful for no reason, sexual predators, deviants and rapists. They form cliques and cells like the mafiaso to punish unwilling female and male students, etc. I mean name it. They lack academic discipline. Most of them will force students to write research papers etc. and then publish it in their own name. All these happen because there are no consequences. You claim to be an intellectual but fight against any form of discussions or arguments on academics? Who says you must be more informed that your student in all matters?

While we work to put this sector of the country in order, I will advise any Nigerian today to send their kids abroad if they have the means. Worst case scenario is they should attend Nigerian Private University and then travel overseas for post graduate studies.
I logged in for your comment. This is the real reason Nigerians school abroad. This is why my children will never study in Nigeria from BSC level.

Even the private uni are as bad and worse.if in doubt see news from CU and afe babalola recently.NYSC is equally as bad.evil HR and cliches everywhere and nothing to protect the consumers. The students are at their mercy and they end up graduating passive aggressive yes men not capable of taking initiative

Who would want that for his or her child

To fix naija unis forget money start from fixing the HR.Same with the hospitals

Simple solution.Ghana should extradite the chief to Nigeria to face prosecution in our courts and jail term. The crime was committed on Nigerian soil in Ghana. He he was ready to do the crime he must be ready to do the time

Nigeria must demand this as others are watching to see what they can get away with in attacking Nigeria and her assets abroad.Precedence is been set here.

Medecine is apprenticeship bro.fellows are reserchers of the practice of medecine.Fellowship includes study tours abroad and in other centers.we argue the 7 year post graduate fellowship trainibg and maybe a masters in sufficient to teach undergrads .Just so you know Thats the practice globally in medicine

This is why no medical doctor in Nigeria will ever win a Nobel Prize.

The real question NUC is trying to ask is what is your practical contribution to medical science that warrant you a position to teach?
You obviously dont know so i will "lecture you"
Medical practitoners write evidence based research based in their area of practice.

Their findings and new approach are presented in conferences and journals and peer reviewed globally.

Nigeria is responsible for advances in treatment of certain tropical diseases e.g certain treatments for osteomyelitis as practiced can be traced to fellows in Nigeria who documented their triaks and results in papers.there are many other examples

Practitioners from a lot of countries have not won the nobel prize that cannot be a yardstick.

Just so you know

Doctors in the other parts of the world can design ingenious biomedical systems.
They make huge money from patents which they sell to big biomedical companies.

In Nigeria, you have a consultant of Cardiology that cannot design an artificial heart because they don't have the required doctoral training in research and innovation.

What are you teaching? Copy and paste?
You are aware biomedics is a field on its own right?

You only see things from your perspective probably because you are a medic. I put it to you that if you would be a little more objective with your view, you would understand that the request of nuc is not a bad one. It's definitely geared toward making the profession better.

I'm sure students will gain more from a consultant with a PhD than a consultant without one.
So you think a student with 7 years of first degree and another 3 years of PHD is better positioned to teach students the practice of clinical medecine than a consultant with 7 years of medecine ,and 5-7 years of fellowship training which includes research work and practice in surgery?

Please know these consultants that teach all have long duration of post qualification practice experience

This could be one of the major reasons why we are not doing well in terms of research of international repute in the medical field simply because our medical Professors believe that fellowship is equal to a Ph.D.
Fellows write a great deal of papers from their medical work.Ibadan is known for a couple of medical inventions well written and documented from research. The instituition UCH has a lot of research work acknowledged internationally to its name courtsey of these fellows...

Fellows teach the art of medicine grounded in global practice ,and empirical research. They publish and present their work globally.

PoliticsRe: Amotekun: North West Governors To Copy South West Counterparts(The Nation) by phineas: 10:22am On Jan 11, 2020
Everyone speaking and analyzing this arrangement are largely ignorant of the south west and its historic operations o protecting its forests and its people

The concept of the amotekun is not new.Its the way of the land at community level.and was pioneered also by LGAs at joint interstate LGAs as a means to protect the populace in certain states.LGAs came together funded vigilantes, who were rrummoured to use jazz and the spate of kidnapping, murder and robberies from bandits coming in from forests reduced drastically this was more than 10 years ago. With the new incursion of bandits into the south west it makes sense to revive this arrangement again with support drom the state

The vigilantes did not abuse power. They were committed to their tasks as it was a case of local men protecting their own. They were paid by the LGA.And they served with honour.

So this will also be succesful. My only concern is they are dealing with more sophisticated criminals with advanced weaponry this time and numbers. But I suspect the secret to the south west strategy is in their name....those who know will understand
PoliticsRe: Operation Amotekun: FG interference, Governors' Intrigues Threaten Launch by phineas: 2:14pm On Jan 09, 2020
The outfit must now design strategies to enable the people of the south west respond to emmergencies and attacks anywhere in the zone in 20 minutes.that includes rural villages.

The aim is to use technology and create an avenue for aerial support and local mobilization where the persons mobilized will not be ambushed.

Amotekun should study the jos attacks and maiduguri villages attacked. They shoukd study the recent kogi attack.for those who say impossible even tv stations abroad have aerial cover for breaking news.

Prevention is best though. No herdsmenor illegal aliens must be allowed in our forests or farms.Technology can help detect large gatherings too

OPC should maintain its integrity and stay seperate.e eryone has tbeir space and day.

People of the south west. All things are possible and everyone must support this process.

A countrys or regions soveriegnty is determined by these 3 things.

Her control over
(1) her money,
(2) her borders ,
(3) tha ability to Govern itself by hers laws.

Whoever controls these controls the country/region

Nigeria is doing well by taking back control of her borders, and not relinquishing control of her money.(fiscal space)

West Africa should do the same.France is attempting to retain control of its monetary control over West africa. And take over its fiscal space and laws. Its like chess.

Lets not throw out the baby and the bath water...lets find a solution.West Africa needs to shut out france from its borders, money, and laws. This may take time but its achievable and imoortant for regional growth and stability

That said france is evil. An eternal bastard in African relations and development. They have had enough time to repent and have refused

If in doubt search and read the colonial agreement. Read on france and haiti, libya and southern camerooun.

Why force anglophone southern camerooun to start speaking french overnight in official settings in this day and age.

Why march into Mali and other francophone countries because of threats to fench intrest (in line with the colonial agreement)showing No respect for National and regional borders of west africa. Why muscle ghaddafi with NATO.what exactly was his crime again

Why attempt to dump their french produced goods in Nigeria through benin republic while paying no duties in flagrant disregard of our borders ,why must francophone countries offer bussiness and resources first to france companies before any other country

Ask why is france still in Africa and what will be the true cost to make them hands off.Why have they hijacked the Eco our key to regional independence

I call on the Nigrerian Gov to watch closely french relations with nigeria closely in the months and years to come.Since we have little or no direct bussinesses with them,Watch aid organizations related to them closely.insert stooges in their midst.

Unravel the true nature of their dealings with Nigeria. And open their yawa with evidence and call them out as you have done with this lovely press release that called a spade a spade
