KayCee92:You are very irresponsible.may the violence you promote find you and be your undoing Get of the streets people.we are not animals there must be law and order in our lands |
All well minded parents should pull their sons and daughters of the streets. The time to stop is now.The safety of society comes first.anyone still on the streets does so to their own risk As for those edging them on may you not know peace in your lives. |
HBB1:Burning police stations and attacking the police is violence. Obstructing commutes and the means of livelihood of people is violence Setting prisoners free is violence. All this happened duri g this protest Before you say it was not the protesters.what was the contingency plan to stop the protests from been hijacked? BBOG was a peaceful protest.was this protest really peaceful? |
HBB1:First world country? You sit abroad and fan the flames for Nigeria to burn when you are not even here. Do you know hoodlums are raiding shops in fagba Lagos? Do you know people are scared and traumatized psychologically. Do you know hoodlums burnt 20 protesters cars in Abuja.I won't say anything about the rumoured reprisals so far.Yet you sit abroad and edge the flames of fire.May God almighty judge you and your ilk should you cease to desist. Here this now and know from those of us who care to know how Nigeria operates.Systemic reforms occur in Nigeria only by engaging the apparatus of State to pass laws, regulations and drafting guidelines to implement them.Protests only raise awareness.its time to end this street protest.because lives matter |
HBB1:You are the product of a failed educational system.Many.mamy and many reforms have been achieved in Nigeria this way.its the only way to achieve sustainable reforms. You all think you are the first to notice reforms need to be made on matters? How did Nigeria become a place where you can call and report abuse of children and househelps and someone gets arrested? Is that not a reform. How did they do it? Was it not by engaging Goverments to draft state specific laws and guidelines to make it happen.I can give you 40 other examples of other reforms IN Nigeria in the last 5 year's only achieved by engaging Goverment.Reforms only happen through policies, regulations and laws.Protests are only for public awareness. The real work is what happens after The protests need to stop from those that love their home and do not want bloodshed.Anyone left on the street is no longer of the peaceful protest variety |
Kelvinhunta:I don't get your point. stop fanning flames of violence with your mouths. For all those who fan the flames of violence in my country Nigeria at this time.May any further loss of lives in this matter be on your heads. |
Do we remember occupy Nigeria protests of the Jonathan regime? Once the Soldiers were released to the streets the leaders of the protests called in everyone. No life was to be lost. Thats responsibility. Any through protester should get off the streets now.Any one still protesting by burning structures is a hoodlum.National security matters. The safety of our society matters. |
@seun it is time to take moderating news on this matter that hits nairaland very seriously. All information must be properly verified before posting.Unsubstantiated news shoukd not be allowed Peace is a fragile thing.its everyone's responsibility to keep the peace.Yours too. Reforms do not need to happen at the cost of bloodshed. The protests are no longer peaceful. We must be careful so hoodlums don't burn our country, our home down. |
sammybay2000:Protesters need to move to the stage of negotiations for their demands. The negotiations are to draft laws. Martin Luther king had negotiations with Goverment for his specific requests. They did not just stay on the streets only leaving no one to negotiate with Goverment to draft their desires in the new laws It's time to do so.add police welfare while at it. |
HBB1:Protests will not achieve institutional change. Protests can be part of the steps but only to raise awareness after which the real work must start. Get off the streets and make sure the real work starts.Get Lagos to pass laws and draft guidelines against police brutality. Will they stay on the streets till that happens. Will we go on the streets for every systemic change we want? It's time for step 2.engage the Senate, engage HOR.draft laws.ensure guidelines are drafted Don't burn the city, don't cause anarchy.thats no longer peaceful protests.Thats not right And PS for you personally, work on your manners.Thats the place for you to start |
HBB1:Good question (except for the sarcasm) I just taught you the correct next step.refer to the post above. You can read right? |
End sars protesters should get off the streets now. Its time to stop street protests and engage your senators to develop laws for the change you want to see We have one country, one hone for a lot of the masses.burning down National structures is not the change or growth we want. It achieves no positive result only backwardness.Every life matters get off the street young ones. The only useful next step is to engage the Senate and house of assembly for laws against police brutality.laws to hold the police accountable for all arrests.laws to identify all police men The next step is to make sure these laws are implemented. Not just protesting till infinity. Its only the Nigerian Senate and HOR that can make these laws and not the UN |
No one must attack any member of the police force. The protesters should take note that thats a major definition of a terrorist group. All police members are not bad.All police cannot be bad.We must not throw out the baby and bath water. Protesters must ensure police men are safe and protected if not it is no longer a peaceful protest |
The reporter has not protected the identity of the source.that is soil not good.not good at all.You have put him in unnecessary danger That said police needs serious reforms starting from their welfare.Their FG salary should only be an allowance. All States and the public should have annual counterpart funds for police salary and welfare. Its the place to start |
The way to view it is this,if mc oluomo sent boys, not just 20 or 30 scrawny boys will show up like we saw in that picture If nd oluomo and NURTW sent their boys to disrupt activities,They would have showed up properly.Anyone who has seen them on rampage will know that's a lot of miscreants set loose on the streets Someone (We don't know who at this time) paid poorly for that narrative with the 20 scrawny thugs.Or that was the plan ab initio to make it appear a disruption was unsuccessful |
lefulefu:Valid |
The protesters got what they want. When they told them what was needed was reform the police force.they insisted on end wars.now sars has ended and it is clear that is not what was really needed I insist all that is required from the police should be clearly articulated and this system been used to drive reforms must accommodate it 1.No arbitrary arrests for no reason only based on profiling 2.No unlawful detention without trial or bail. This one should be made a crime.Anyone force unit holding a person without trial or bail should be arrested.this would require wider reforms in the justice unit.more courts, more bail processing officers.time to consider private contractors too 3.No unlawful entry 4.Proper police identification 4.Body cameras for all police members which must be used at arrests.those things are cheap abeg.Nigeria can afford it. These are examples of specific reforms that must be listed.not just end Sars,or end swat |
That said someone needs to articulate the end sars requests and strike out the stupid ones Stop cutting our hair.very valid one Don't profile African hair as criminal..very valid Leave yahoo boys alone..very stupid. all handles promoting this one should be noted and stored for opportunity for efcc investigation and possible arrest Stop arbitrary search without warrant.very valid Stop kidnappings in the name of arrests. Very valid I need help with the rest |
Jesus wore his hair.Ogedengbe wore his hair, ologbosere wore his hair, Wole Soyinka wears his hair. Why are you making our youth cut theirs? Self hating Africans should not infect those that love our heritage, our look, our hair. They must not be allowed to trample them. The precious few have managed to make African hair fashionable.why drag them down your self hating dungeon |
Midadeola:Trust me that hospital will be in trouble if she files against them. They should pray No one teaches her how to. They will get the pittance they were owed, but the punishment for the law they infringed is a long time in jail |
Whoever cares to listen should call the sharia police to order. I don't get why blacks hate their own black hair(afro) in their own land.Talk about the height of self loathing. But the silky Arabian hair is acceptable but not the afro right? If we don't teach our kids to wear their Natural hair,to embrace it and love it,who will? Why is there even a sharia police in Nigeria. Is that a parallel police force or what. What constitutional powers do they have.Who is empowering these miscreants rubbing others of their freedom? A land with no laws does not stand. Our humanity is been tested.the people of the north should call their miscreants to order |
flexshop:I hope this case is used as an example to hospitals. The management should be arrested and fined at least |
lazypenguin2000:Restricting her right to liberty is not a debt collection approach sanctioned by law.The management and staff of the hospital that sanctioned this should be prosecuted. |
Someone should please take up the hospital management for kidnapping. There are many ways to collect what they are owed.Imprisoning her and restricting her liberty is not one of them. That is kidnapping |
It's Linda day today. That woman has made something for herself. She turned blogging into great money in Nigeria. She gets paid more than newspaper houses per day while using less staff and other costs Beyond innovation shes proven herself as a management guru.Shes still the best blog around with the most visitors She has survived scandals,Even Wizkid and other haters couldn't bring her down. She has buildt other woman with her self made gig.She has also broken the heart of some. But if Linfa didnt break the news others woukd have if its news. Happy Birthday to Linda..40 is the time to build legacies.Hope she has a wonderful decade ahead |
May God bless Nigeria for her restraint and maturity. Ghana should better do the same and show some common sense |
Thank you Naptu for this post. The police should take it a step further and provide protection for them. Also arret a few aggressors at the scene. The violence has to be addressed to Stop it. |
The Ghanian response is a joke In summary they refused to take responsibility for allowing the demolition of an embassy in their country. The summary of their response paraphrased is this "it is a matter between Nigeria and a Ghanian it does not concern us but we offered to rebuild after it was demolished" Truth is that demolition should never have been allowed to happen. The individual with a grouse should have had to go through his country to resolve that grouse. It should have been taken up with Nigeria through his country!.Ghana allowed it to happen,an attack on a foreign embassy and even gave excuses despite a police post not been far from there Ghanian embassy lands in Nigeria should have their titles (paid or unpaid)revoked indefinately and demolished as well.Thats a ŕesponse that Must happen.Nigeria shoukd also offer to rebuild for the fun of it and put bugs they will never be able to remove unless they demolish again all over the place |
ODB2:One can only hope not.The kidnappers are still demanding large sums in millions from the family. We also need to criminalize not reporting kidnappings. So that a joint response can be instituted against the kidbappers. For examplr all families are negotiafing the lives of theor loved ones individually. Like pricing commodities in the market.Kidnapping is a crime. All calls should be re orded amd traced. All ases should be identified amd addresses only then can it be ome a big deal. And not the norm |
ODB2:This is not a responsible narrative.Especially with no proof. Our security teams are doing their best with limited resources. Were there are gaps we shiuld point it out politely and support them to close up those gaps They should have safety equipments, clothes and vehicles to keep them safe.Rapid response numbers.Monitoring cameras, sensors, anti bomb detectors etc.only them can we ask them to face this evil squarely. It must not be at the risk of their lives with no prote tion for them. That itself is also wrong.Nigerians should reflect that the sums paid to bandits would have equipped our security teams better.Nigerians must support the system |
For the record i believe choloroquine and zinc works. Im only against how she presented her case.I understand it was passion for lives over diplomacy. While i applaud her courage,i know a Nigerian Doctor abroad will do better at this, diplomacy is key in matters such as this |
Itulah:She is not she is a cameroun citizen |
