i am not talking only theory, but sound economics
the cbn has decided to keep the naira in a band around N150 plus or minus 3%
their ability to do this is a direct result of increased inflow of dollars
Stop contradicting yourself. How does keeping the dollar at 150 help.
Nigeria is an import based economy. It pays us if the dollar is low, people will have more buying power. If we were japan, it would have made sense.
As it stands, things will only remain the same or become more expensive. In the case, i would have been affected negatively and not positively so ur theory is out the door.
increase in oil production, leads to increase in forex
this leads to a more stable macro-economic environment in the country and a steady and perhaps appreciating naira
that means inflation is tame. . .so it affects u

if u dont think so. . .look at zimbabwe, see what an unstable macro-economy looks like
Maybe it affects you. It definitely does not affect ME. I am speaking for myself okay.
FOREX ko ninja turtle ni.
We have always had oil so that is not news. More stable economic environment, sheesh, i laugh in NINJA ASSASSIN.
Increased oil prod. only means more money for cabals and nnpc buffons.

Ok all of a sudden IBB becomes the best President We have ever had.
Maybe You forgot that some stopped the massacre in Niger delta.
You are missing a key word here. You asked the question what have you done for our sick president.
I said he hasn't impacted me in any way. I am not from the Niger delta so how does that put food on my table. The only thing peace in the ND has done is to increase oil production. Increase in oil production does not benefit me either. Rather i will end up suffering because there will be downstream deregulation soon and petrol prices will increase and i will have to pay higher bus fares.

I never said IBB was good or anything. I only said what I benefitted from him

Enough with the OBJ name calling jare.
Was it OBJ that stole ballot boxes.
Was it OBJ that used his hands to rig the election.
Yes OBJ may have masterminded the whole thing but without the YOUTHS, he couldn't have done nothing. The youths are to blame.
Politicians can not do anything if they don't have thugs and youths to pay money to do stuff for them. IF we all decide as youths that we will not tolerate politicians anymore, we will vote our own president in 2011.

TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by phuckNL: 6:53am On Dec 12, 2009
Congrats to everyone who got visas.
My advice from a reliable source is that they are currently lenient with visas for Genuine candidates. If you are still waiting, now is the time to book your visa appointment. As a result of the economy, it pays them to have more international students. There was a decline in international student enrollment from the previous year. If you are genuine and have genuine documents, you will most likely get a visa unlike before when luck also played a part. Source : nigerian who works at the abuja end.

@ Everyone.
I just felt the need to be blunt.
I am the nicest guy in real life. My online persona and my real life persona are two different entities. The only reason i went that far was because i was taunted. Imagine someone who doesn't know me claiming that dem still dey feed me. Anyway, if you really look into my posts, u will realize that i really mean no harm. My brags and rants should only serve as a motivating factor for others to achieve whatever they need to achieve. There is no pride in bragging in an online forum. I mean, no one here knows me so i am not bragging as a result of any big ego. Hope u guys understand what i mean.

Oyewole

Being emotional/ignorant is not an excuse. Why will i be mad to see you get a visa. How does it affect my life.
I am only telling it as it is. The embassy denies visas because a lot of people use the student visa as an excuse. Let me tell you something and i am going to be blunt about it. If your financial status is shaky, why would you want to study abroad. International education in the US is not for poor people. Whether you like it or not. If you don't have the finances, you better have the brain to secure you financial assistance. When i made the comment about people finding it difficult to pay their sevis and air ticket, i was generalizing. Obviously two guilty people have responded already. You and Suxe2001. It is no secret that most people use the student visa as an excuse to travel.

Suxes2001
I was going to refrain from pointing fingers but you have just blown yourself up.
Here's the deal. You are only using the student visa to travel to yankee. Your number one ambition is not to get an education. I believe this was revealed previously when you were all over the forum seeking visas to sweden, south africa, sudan and Ijesa republic.
There is no need to get emotional here. Who told you that i am from a rich family. Life is all about planning, being smart and taken your destiny into your hands. When i started a school funded research project online with colleagues over the world, it was people like you that said all i know is just to be doing research. When i was busy taking the A-levels, SAT 1, SAT 11, it was people like you that said it was overkill.
When i finally got a full ride to one of the best Universities in the USA : Excuse me, in the WORLD, people like you started envying me.
You see, if i had not gotten a full ride, i wouldn't have even gone near the embassy because i do not have fifty thousand to spend every year.
I may be younger than most of you here but from your comments I know i'm way above your level.

The fact that you are poor is not an excuse in life. Work hard(smart) and you can achieve wonders.
Several of you here are just the typical money hungry people looking for greener pastures type.
I, on the other hand, already know what my research in 4yrs for my PHD will be in.
I'll advice you to stop immediately. You may hurt yoursefl if you overtrain your tommy muscle. Always give your muscles at least 24-48hrs rest.
By the way, if you do situps or crunches from now till 2050, you will not, i repeat, you will not get a flat tummy or burn any fat.

The key to losing weight is overall weight loss. You can not spot reduce fat.
Weight loss is really easy. Diet alone without exercise can make you loose 1-2lbs per week.
All you need to do is focus more on strength exercises and add a little bit of cardio for better lungs and heart. You don't need to run for 10hrs on a treadmill.

Here's a plan, first, stop eating rice. As nigerians, we eat too much damn rice. Cut out eba, and amala as well. Focus more on foods like beans, fish cereals and vegetables. Eat a lot of fruits when you are hungry instead of Mr Biggs. Eat oranges, tangerines etc.
Start small, the key to weight loss is consistencey. You did not gain 50 pounds overnight. Aim for a max of 1-2lbs per week and you will be looking like Halle Berry in 1yr.
I am amazed at people like this. With all the chaos and fraud going on in Nigeria, you want a bank that offers you online inter-bank transfer.
What happens when your online account is compromised. Do you want to wake up to realize all your funds have been transferred to someone else.
Quit nagging. If you need to send money to anyone, use western union juh.

@Plat where are you now?U promised to help me both connecting flight am still waiting for you o
y r u so stubborn. U've already been advised. Your best bet is to book straight from delta. U can also use european airlines for a naija to europe to LA.
If you think booking to NY and then getting a flight within the states to LA will pay u, u must be a joker.
All it takes is for you to go online and search the major airlines in the US and check out the price from NY to LA. It is not worth it. Just buy from delta and stop expecting magic to happen

And isn't it a illegal to fly when you're more than 3 months pregnant? Someone pls educate me
Please tell me which foreign airline operating in Nigeria that will deny the President's daughter from boarding. The Governor of Bauchi even went with her to ensure no yawa sef. Unless the airline wants Yaradua and their govt buffons to ban their operations, they will just let the be.
Several "normal" nigerian women are sent back all the time by the airlines.
If you search well on this forum, you can get info on a woman who didn't just get turned back, but had an American Visa cancelled becos the UK personnel realized she was pregnant and called the US embassy to verify if they knew she was pregnant prior to issuing the visa. She was transiting tru the UK to the US

PoliticsRe: Ndlea Seizes Illicit Drugs Worth N2.2b At Mmia by phuckNL: 7:52pm On Dec 07, 2009
I think it's high time the drug issue should be solved once and for all.
Legalize the damn thing all over the world. Let companies start selling it the way Cigarettes and Beer are sold.
Cigarettes and beere do more damage than drugs and are not illegal.
