@Johnnie Do you have any progress pictures. i.e of the completed lekki phase 1 roundabout and what the completed tolling booths look like? |
asscend:With all the awareness around, people still type in all CAPS. Abeg stop it na. |
THE AMAKA:Yes oo. It depends on your destination. My initial destination was houston after which i left for Newark. Paris to Houston was 11hours, Lagos to Paris was ~7hours. I waited in Paris for 3 hours.!! And yeah, i travelled during the peak period. |
SEFAGO:And your point is. So far you are the only one that has abused anyone. If you didn't have bad belle, why bring up an issue that is about 10 pages back on this thread. We were talking about spring break and here you are trying to bring somebody down. You were simply trying to tell people that i am just deceiving people here. You are the one that is really silly. Whether you like it or not, i am living my dream. If people say i am immature, i don't know what to call you because you have just shown that i have one over you. Why the bad belle na. Did you have to let everyone know that you applied to princeton during your days. Omo see EGO oo |
not so true, i have flown it b4 from dakar to Sao paolo and we were not packed like sardines.Furthermore, my Cousin Bought a Delta ticket from Lagos to New Jersey and was Endorsed on Air France, the dude also confirmed how nice the airline was, plus he was also carrying 2 pieces. So even if you buy Delta, Chances are that they endorse you also. @ Topic, yes, you will be allowed to carry 2 bags not weighing not more than 46kg, anything above that wuld be regarded as excess. N.B- Airline baggage restrictions do change from time to time!!!
They have a partner share agreement. If you choose a direct delta flight from LOS to ATL, they will not put you on the Air france flight. Trust me, they will pack you like SARDINES. The seats are small and most naija flights are always full. It's not worth it if you have to fly for 18hrs I'd rather be packed like sardines in delta and fly for for just 12hrs. |
THE AMAKA:Unless ur flying business class and above! They pack you like sardines in economy. 18hrs flight time plus 3-4hr layover. Not worth it. Fly to JFK and take arik or just go with Delta |
Vladmir 2:Do you know what i wanted to go do in the Netherlands. Abeg keep your thoughts to yourself. SEFAGO:Many people have gone this path in the past, and i have been advised to refrain from getting tensed. Are you trying to prove the authenticty of my admission or what. If i wasn't the first to get a full ride, then so be it. Thats what i thought at least. If you got ur full ride and didn't attend that is ur problem. If you don't know anything about the current situation, why not confirm rather than trying to start rubbish on here. Don't start nuttin won't be nuttin. Ever heard of deffered admission by the way. I'm trying so hard to refrain from my vicious past. I for don dey rain abuses by now. |
femilangy:Can't wait for spring break either. Finally, one whole week without homework!!!!!!!!!!!!I heard MIAMI is the place to be for spring break oooo |
femilangy:Don't get me wrong oo. I am not getting tensed or angry or anything like that. It's just that we tend to generalize too quickly. I have been to two different states already and all i can say is Yankee is different for everyone from state to state. I went to Houston and Dallas recently and somebody almost "put a stone in my mouth". I opened my mouth in amazement. The road network in Houston is marvellous. Bridge and flyover just dey mix like pounded yam. My point is that, most people will not talk about things like this because they expect it to be the "norm", hence the "hype" about yankee. The minute we see bad things, we start saying yankee is/has not lived up to the hype. Femilangy, i'd like you to tour more states and then reconfirm your opinion. |
femilangy:PS I am sure you also have friends in the US that are doing 50 times better than what you were doing in Nigeria. Why do we always focus on the negative and never on the positives. We need to create a balanced analysis. The other day, a nigerian was making noise because he saw a "pothole". I mean doesn't that show how silly we nigerians are. You come yankee, u begin dey find flaw, dey find pothole all over the place. You come see one finish you come dey call naija dey make noise say yankee get pothole. SHAME. |
femilangy:Hate to burst ur bubble but i wasn't overwhelmed by nuttin. I knew exactly what to expect. Proper planning takes care of all that. We all have access to the internet in naija but all people know how to do is go to nairaland and facebook. I knew how everywhere i needed to be in my state looked. I had seen my residence school and everything even before i got there. Thanks to Google street view i knew exactly what the environment looked like so i wasn't surprised or astonished. I was "Satisfied". Success is not about money. Your friends may prefer to be in America and live the american dream with their small change rather than live in Nigeria with millions without any form of security or a "good standard of living" If you call - owning a noisy generator set, security guards, housemaids etc as being a good life in nigeria, then thats ur own definition. As far me its simply opulence in the midst of poverty. |
gbemxy: femilangy:If it is not what you expected, then go back home and stop whining. IT IS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED. If you expected to get here and start driving a Maserati then something must be wrong with you. If you expected to get here and fare well without having money from naija, then something is wrong with you. Research properly before making decisions. As for me, it is everything i expected. ADIOS AMIGOS |
Rather than ranting, you lot should be shouting and looking for ways to remove your senators and representatives. They have failed us. Yaradua's cabinet should not be able to take the nation for a ride. That is why we have representatives. Yaradua should have been impeached after no one heard anything from him for 2 weeks. The question we need to ask is why our representatives have waited this long. We all look like fools now. Yaradua's cabinet is basically saying we will wait till whenever Yaradua recovers. Nigerians can wait for him since we can't do anything about it. Shameful nation. After we will claim that Nigerians are smart, bright and educated. We are the dullest set of people in the world. Of what use is our education if we can be taken for a ride like a bunch of baboons. Sad nation, Dumb people. Dora take note. |
bigrovar:If you did proper research most of your questions would have been answered. Are you on this same earth that we are on. Your questions have been answered since 1900. The boy got his visa in 2008. His father reported him in 2009. Are you satisfied now. To the people asking why the UK is not on a list of blacklisted countries. Come on now!!!!!! Are you for real. Quit being childish. It is like saying if an american or even several americans commit suicide bombings in Israel, the Israelis will blacklist america. You guys are beginning to sound ridiculous. |
gongo aso:Thanks a lot. Yes i'm in the states. Winter no be childs play nah. Me wey dey wear singlet during harmattan!! Omo na sleep i just dey sleep for inside ohh. The cold is fireeeeee. femilangy:Hey bro. I just realized you got ur visa as well. Congrats. Considering that you started this thread, it would have been sad if they axed you. @Suxxes I said it before and i will say it again. If you do not have the financial capablility to study in the US. Stay in Nigeria. I referred to your previous posts that showed that you just wanted to JAH. At the POE, the dude was joking with me and said most naija guys don't even bother to visit school once they enter. I am not here to judge you. What i don't like is the fact that you are lieing. Why would you want to use a fake statement. You have already been denied once. I am sure the reason you were denied the first time lingers on financial manipulation or fraud. |
People do not like the truth. I always tell the truth and i am never scared to voice my opinion. Suxes2005. Forget about the US. You will be seen as desperate the second time around. You'll probably be denied again. If you do not have your stuff together, the embassy will deny you. When i made mention of people having problems paying sevis fees and all, i was almost crucified. Take my advice. Forget about the US embassy juh. If you don't have a sponsor (prefarably your parents) that has a solid account with a reputable job, you better have a financial aid package or scholarship package to present to the embassy officials. The embassy recommends a 6month reapplication timeline for a reason : You were denied on financial grounds. They do not expect your financial situation to change drastically within a short period. Whether you took the wrong statement is not their problem. They will just assume you want to jah |
I was on a 3hr flight in the US about 3 days ago and they sold PRINGLES and other snacks. They only gave us one offer of beverages/juice throughout the flight. Every other thing was on SALE. |
MrCrackles:I don't know what the problem with you lot is. 80% of the info obtained by the media in the US was obtained from Nigerian sources/websites. So far, the pictures being paraded on US networks was obtained from saharareporters.com The fact that his father is a banker and had reported to the US embassy all came from Nigerian sources. A whole lot can come from the Nigerian investigations. We may be a silly nation but i know that our SSS is top notch. |
tunnytox:Confirm your stories properly or read/watch the news carefully. He was issued a US visa in 2008 in LONDON. |
RIP. Prayers go to the family. @Amaka and SeanT21 Why don't you just open another thread if you want to gist about a tv show. Someone died and you are here talking about disney channel showing it or not. No wonder Amaka has so many posts in such a short time, get a life and stop camping on nairaland. |
loma:Thank you for clearing the air on the snacks sell. @Bluetooth - ^^^^Hope you have your answer. |
PhucknL OK I be olodo, accepted.Tell if you've ever heard news of american airlines or virgin atlantic selling hotdogs and hamburger on their flight. The best thing for aero molue to do was to have stopped serving puff-puff on their flight instead of engaging in such rubbish. They are not the only airline hit by the crunch.I sometimes board ABC transport from abuja to lagos and they serve all passengers malt and snacks free.If a motor transport company can sustain that during recession, how come an airline cannot afford such gesture despite the high patronage the get
Prior to this last post, i thought you were just kidding. Did you really post the highlighted part? You want to compare the cost of maintaining an airline company with that of a road transport company. I weep in Ninja Assassin ![]() I have not heard of american airlines but that doesn't mean they do it. For one, i know some of them sell bottled water and headphones on flights. Heck, american airlines now charge passengers for checked luggage. Can you beat that. You have no point whatsover. Did aero shove the puff-puff down your throat. It is simply a courtesy service. If you want to eat a snack, buy one. If you don't want to, no one will disturb you. Let's stop being ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with what they have done. You are always quick to look at negatives. Not one of you is commending them for introducing 5,000 naira and 6,000 naira online flights ooh |
mikeansy:Point of correction : They Know they are running a nation of two year olds. Our president has been out for over 24 days, we don't know if he's dead or alive. All we do is make noise, comment on online forums and sit our big asses at joints drinking nkwobi and pepper soup. The NLC should have been organizing rallies demanding that YAradua address the nation or resign. We should have had a 50 million man march to Abuja by now. Demand a video conference, that Yaradua address the nation or he resigns. We really are a nation of 2yr olds. |
@phucknL If the airlines in the US don't sell puff-puff on their flight, why is aero molue selling on theirs?
Olodo!!!! Do americans know what puff-puff is? Why can't they sell it? Isn't it a nigerian snack? The way i see it, selling snacks is an added option. They could have cancelled snacks on flights totally. Rather they have made it optional for you to buy if you feel the need to eat on a 45minute flight. I don't understand why you people keep comparing other airlines to aero sef. How many of the other airlines that still serve snacks did the 5000 naira promo that aero did a couple months back. How many of them are currently doing the 6000 naira promo that aero is doing now. You lot are just greedy. Period |
before you know it the whole of Nigeria will ban okadas. KAI!! so many people will have no jobs. ![]() im really scared about the aftermath of all this banning. GBAM!!!
You people just like talking sha. What about the alternative mopeds/keke napep various govts have started. Many okada riders have neglected it because it means they would have to queue up. They prefer their unsafe okadas. They should ban the thing already. If they ban it, they will find other things to do or embrace keke napep. |
The only authority that recognizes marriage in Nigeria is still the law courts/registry. Let the church and all the others talk all they want. Traditional marriage no be by force. If you enter registry, u don marry be that. No one can change that. |
keyremotes:Why are people so naive? So because you haven't been killed that means others are not/will not be killed. It is not news that people returning from abroad are targetted. There are stories of people that left nigeria decades ago, came back to the country and were assassinated. Of course you can wear watches and carry expensive phones in Nigeria. At least if you live in the nice places in Lagos. Most of the people commenting probably live in Lekki and environs. If you live in other places in Lagos, you dare not flash your expensive phone. There is a reason cellphones are the next business initiative in Lagos. Most people that use expensive phones change them at least once in 6 months ( reason : hold up theft, various kinds of theft and on occasion, dropping of the phone) Anyway, be careful in lagos. If you must go to the rugged parts of lagos, go there during the day. If you stay on the ISLAND you can flex all you want day and night. The mainland is a different ball game. Crime as gone down but it is still Lagos. A 4yr old boy was just kidnapped in Lagos recently. Just make sure you watch ur back and be street smart. |
Caringpro:Na wa oo. What is not world class about it. These flights we are talking about are short haul flights. Even world class airlines don't serve snacks on 45 minute flights. I have confirmed reliably that they do no serve snacks on several short flights in the U.S.A so you all have no point. You want to pay 6000 naira for a flight and still eat free puff puff. Na barawo bi that. |
Simply solution = Federal govt should lay its hands off power completely. Let companies generate power and decide who they want to supply to. Let retail distributors buy their own transformers and distribution cables then determine who they want to service. If this is done, we will have uninterrupted power in 2yrs time. |
It is sad that a lot of you are missing the real point here. Haba. What they have done is simply a cost cutting measure. Whether you like it or not, the free snacks and drinks you receive on board costs the company a lot of money. You may think it is not much but multiply the cost of snacks for an average flight of 50 -100 people per flight x2 daily and then multiply for the whole year and you will know it is money they can do away with. They are not trying to make profit from snack selling. I see it as customer service sef. They know customers have been accustomed to free snacks so they have inculded it for sale if you feel you must eat on a 45 minute flight!. They are not forcing you to buy it. Short haul flights dont include snacks in most countries all over the world so i guess Nigerians have been pampered over time. They probably had to do it earlier in order to reel customers in since air travel has always been lowly favoured by we nigerians. Now, air travel is the way to go unless you want to contend with armed robbers, rivers on roads, kidnappings and trigger happy police officers on our death trap roads. |
simply go to www.google.com and type toefl in the search bar. It won't take you 5 seconds. |
bubugul:Here's the big problem with Nigerian girls. "Giving him so much". My dear, you are not doing him any favour. BOTH OF YOU HAVEN GIVEN YOURSELVES SOMETHING. It's funny when women assume they are giving it up. What you forget is that the man is also giving you his "kini" as well. Until you show me the section in the Nigerian constitution that says a man should pay for everything, i demand that Nigerian women start paying up if they really think they are strong and independent. |

anyway sha,you are living so many peoples dream.
