Not so much the noisy neighbours again, eh? ![]() |
TLona1:Story Story oh. Na the irregularities make you chop 8-2? Imagine if it was two-legged, e for worse pass the 7Up of 2013. |
Capaldi:See im mouth. . Go commot am nau. Like say no be ball dem play. Anybody and everybody for collect that year. |
andrewbaba44:Omo, Haaland fall hand. He didn't quite deliver in the clutch games that would have sealed his Ballon d'or win. Blanks against Real, FA Cup final and this CL final. Even the title decider against Arsenal, he was missing loads of chances while KdB stole the show. Which begs the question: Did Man City really need Haaland to win the CL? Or was it just a case of "we can't just fold our arms and do nothing". I think City could as well have won the CL without him. |
timbros:An hat trick of L's for this man ![]() |
Nothing spoil for City. KDB is a massive loss but they've shown they can win without him, and without anyone in fact. City still winning this. |
BlueRayDick:Lmao. That thing ya weyrey gan. From nowhere, e go nack you ban. In my own case, na double double. You go come be like "wetin I do na?" ![]() |
andrewbaba44:Abeg, loud am make dem hear. With all the success Pep has had, I'm still surprised people look to pick holes in his tactics and selection unnecessarily. I'm not saying he's beyond criticism but at least let it be worth it. |
swiz123:You people have started looking for errors where there are none. Pep has earned the right to make his decisions, no matter how unpopular they may be. Ake, their best defender this season is back and available for selection. Meanwhile, Inter are going to sit deep and don't have a counterattacking threat like Vinicius which would have necessitated Pep starting Walker. E no too hard nau. |
BlueAngel444:Which one be defense again? When will you people accept that playing 3 CBs doesn't always mean you are playing defense. No be the same setup Man City take trash your Real? Abi, you don forget so soon. |
Kilishihunter:Another one! The ultimate jinxlord. UtdTrey dey learn for where my guy dey ![]() |
andrewbaba44:Na one of the things wey I dey use against am. E be like say you no remember the dribble, Valdes made it so easy for Torres. Finished Torres oh ![]() |
Kilishihunter:Ederson is a better ball-playing goalkeeper than Valdes. His short passing is excellent and don't even get me started on his kicking. Valdes played in an era where teams rarely pressed high and forwards had lesser defensive duties. No be now, wey dem go give you back pass as a GK and before you know it, you go see Salah and Vinicius dem charging down on your goal like mad men. The only reason Valdes gets a mention is because of the novelty of what he was doing at that time. Abidal was very good, no debate. I just feel Ake has been a revelation this season. Remember, we are not including career achievements, only the years under consideration. Abidal 2011 vs Ake 2023. |
andrewbaba44:Which one-on-one specialist? LOL. I still remember Torres dribbling him from afar for that sucker punch goal in 2012. The guy na basket. Ruben Dias is City's best defender when fit and it would be unfair to leave him out. Ake's performances this season has been exceptional; if there was an Alternative City Player of the year award, he would win it. Bear in my mind, the article took into account only a particular season, not their overall career. Sorry about the Abidal goof. Some of my memories of that period must have been jumbled by Time. |

This is one of those fake quotes, isn't it? |
andrewbaba44:Lmao. The same Victor Valdes abi another one? Ederson isn't one of the greats but he is definitely better than Valdes. Better shot stopper, better at ball handling and distribution. Valdes wey dey dash opponents goals, the original otu keeper. He was an average GK with good ball-playing abilities, which Ederson even surpasses in my opinion. Puyol was on the decline at that time, no thanks to injuries and age. It wasn't too long before Di Maria finally sent him to the retirement home Abidal missed a huge chunk of that season due to his liver condition, so Ake rightfully gets the nod. |
Thoughts on this? . . https://www.goal.com/en-ng/lists/pep-guardiola-barcelona-2011-man-city-2023-combined-xi/blt6928992c1439c637#cs299f0fa8735e6822 The writer said Valdes was a better all-round GK than Ederson. LOL. I pretty much agree with the combined XI except for one; swapping Iniesta for KDB in central midfield. Iniesta would do better than KDB as an unorthodox LW, think Grealish, Bernardo Silva and Foden in this current City side. |
oliverano:LOL. I know, bro. But that Brazilian juju strong no be small. 16 years! Na why I dey always pray say make we buy at least one for our team if we no get. Even if na loan or to dey siddon for bench, I no mind. If we no buy like this, I no dey raise my hopes for UCL that season. Dem be proper good luck charm. |
FergieRaww:Unfortunately, we will never know. But I felt we stood a better chance with Nagelsmann, than with Tuchel. Nagelsmann knew the team better and the 3421 he was tinkering with, was the perfect match for Pep's setup. I still don't know why Tuchel ignored it, considering it was the formation he did a triple on Pep with, in 2021. The issue wasn't even Bayern getting knocked out by City. It was the clear regression in the quality of the team's performances that led the inquisition of the guys in charge and Tuchel definitely takes a chunk of the blame. |
FergieRaww:Kahn and Brazzo took a stupid gamble and they got burned. Bayern were just a point behind Dortmund, with about 10 matches to go including a decisive Klassiker at home, with Bayern as overwhelming favorites. We had an 100% record in the CL and had just beaten PSG home and away. The hunt for the treble was still very much on and there was no need to take such drastic action. Not at that critical stage of the season. The move clearly upset the rhythm of the team. We got knocked out of two cup competitions in less than a month and nearly lost the league, if not for that almighty chokejob by Dortmund. When you take such big decisions, you better get it right or be ready to deal with the consequences of your failure. |
WhoDeyHause:Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Your record speaks for itself. Maybe we need to do a full extensive compilation of your fails to remind you. |
Interesting trivia here: Since 2006, every team that has won the CL has had at least one Brazilian in their side. 16 years and counting. Man City have Ederson in goal, no Brazilian player in the Inter side. Since 2013, there has been a Spanish, Croatian and German national in every CL winning team, either as a manager or player. Man city have Laporte(ESP) and Gundogan(GER). Inter have Brozovic(CRO) and Gosens(GER). German streak set to continue at least for another year. |
WhoDeyHause:There you have it! Manchester City, Champions of Europe. If you know, you know ![]() |
Ibime:I don dey put this one for my prayer points since last week. Not this year, my brother. Baba God wey run am for Messi, go run am for Pep today. |
Happy Birthday, SkiBanj! I've got nothing but love for this man. One of the greatest artistes this country has ever produced. He was the pioneering face of AfroBeats. Absolute livewire of a performer. I still laugh when I remember his infamous performance at the Headies that year. Na only towel Baba wear dey gyrate ![]() I daresay no Nigerian artiste, dead or alive possessed D'banj's package. He had the looks, sex appeal, wits, charisma to go with an amazing talent for making great music. He was an entertainer par excellence. So good, they called him African Michael Jackson Wizkid, Davido and Burna dey learn for where this guy dey. Everyone loved D'Banj. Girls wanted to have his babies. Boys wanted to be like him. Aunties sef wan taste the Koko that year D'banj was THAT GUY. His legacy and place in Nigerian pop culture is firmly secured, his link-up with Don Jazzy and the monster hit factory called Mo'Hit Records credited for paving the way for what we now call AfroBeats today. He gave us slangs like 'Tongolo', 'Koko', 'No Long Thing', 'Fileee'! and my personal favorite 'Oooshey!' Even these days when I see him on TV as a judge on Nigerian Idol, i can't help but smile. This man was made for showbiz. Many more years in good health and wealth, Banga Lee. Enjoy your day! |
CAPdan21:Good evening, comrade. I can see you are back in business . |
AdisaOwala:Kahn reportedly threw a fit when he was informed of his sacking before our final game of the season, and you know how volcanic he can be. His partner, Brazzo was allowed to join and celebrate with the team. Kahn gets no sympathies from me, sha. He did Nagelsmann dirty. Make him sef know as e dey pain. |
FirstbornWds:Lmao. How Andrew sef go wan buy Kimmich for 65m. Kimmich oh, no be Goretzka. |
ChristineC:Not everyone takes penalties for their teams, and not many teams gets as many penalties as Man Utd. So, non-penalty goals is a fair metric for goal returns. If to say, Bruno was the one winning those PKs now, e for even good. But, no be so. |
ChristineC:Lmao. Na question I ask, I no kill person nau. Not taking anything away from him, but his goal tally has always been inflated by penalties. His creativity has never been in doubt, though. Hope you are not referring to Muller? Muller no be Penandes mate oh. |
oliverano:Talks about Bayern getting a real DM have been greatly exaggerated. It is not a top priority for us like the CF position. And like hell, are we paying 100 for Basmati. Goretzka is going through a tough period but he should bounce back next season. He will not be competing with FdJ and Pedri and Barca's 433 actually suits him more. He will excel as one of two 8's with Pedri and DeJong acting as the pivot. Some of his best games at Bayern was when we had him playing alongside Thiago and Kimmich. Goretzka is not a DM to begin with. Kimmich sef na wetin I dey call Quasi-x They are actually good together but you just feel there could be more. |
andrew444:You can stick your 65 up your ass Na joke abi na wetin? Person dey im prime, you dey carry peanuts come. Even if we wan sell, bidding starts at 80m. |
