Joshthefirst:
Pastor Benny Hinn said something I've been stating about the fundamental nature of God and his life. He said it in the power of the Spirit last night at a ministration in Lagos.

GOD does not exist, HE IS EXISTENCE. God does not live, HE IS LIFE. God does not live in eternity, ETERNITY LIVES IN HIM!

The first and last phrases, especially the last, are quite powerful and satisfying to me and everyone who ponders. You see the Spirit is one and always says the same thing.

God is the origin, yet he became man because of his love for us. The FACT OF HIS INCARNATION IS NOT TO BE A SOURCE OF DOUBT, IT IS TO BE A SOURCE OF THE INSPIRATION OF HIS LOVE FOR YOU AND ME.

The power of his life flows in believers in this world. In spite of lies, we are the bearers of truth. We are the graced ones, and we will continue to shake the world even more with his love and power.

Now is not a time to be idiot.ic as many are, reprobate, lounging in deadly darkness and lust and filthiness of mind and mouth. Now is not the time for foolishness in old men and young. It is not the time for pride to deceive. Now is not a time for doubts. The truth is around you. It's words are in your mouth. Seek it and you will find it. Confess it.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life. The son did not come to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

If you believe in your heart the Lord Jesus, and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

For there is no other name given among men with which they will be saved, save the name of Jesus.
But of course.
Daahhhh!!

Snake oil salesmen like sly fox Benny Him and other evangelical fraudsters have the wide, no, unlimited latitude to say just about anything , no matter how illogical, no matter how nonsensical, to the eager consumers of their craft.

It doesn't ever have to make sense, and it seldom ever does.

An atheist such as Plaetton (and many other atheists) would readily then agree that God exists - as a mental construct of the human mind.

The mere existence of any abstraction as a thought is not what is being discussed here.
But that is exactly what God is- a mental construct of the human mind.
If God is more than that, then no evidence has been advanced so far as proof.

You cannot , in one breath say that God is beyond the reaches of scientific investigation, and then in another breath, say that God is not a mental construct.

Igbokwe voice on igbo matters should be discounted because he is an APC member. Can everyone see he proves the op right?
Yes, can anyone expect objectivity from a person who derives his livelihood as a propaganda mouthpiece ?

Besides, like I said before, for him to actually target his diatribes towards Igbos clearly shows that he doesn't understand the Igbo Psyche.
There is NOT one opinion or worldview that is uniquely Igbo.
Joe Igbokwe would have done better addressing the entire nation , rather than focus on Igbos, a paid hack job.
He , just like you Igbophobes, don't get it.

And I repeat and confess, yes, we feel terribly awful that our collective destinies are in the hands of a clique of fossilized Dinosaurs and mountain goats.

That's enough to make any of us very emotional.

The main problems with you Igbophobes is that most of you have never been to Asaba, talkless of crossing the Niger bridge. You get and weigh your Igbo experience from the shop owner down your street or from watching soap operas.

Your ignorance is loud and clear.

And just to remind you, do you remember when you were a mod in the Muslim religious section, and you wouldn't allow non Muslims to post threads and comments on your section ?
For whatever justifications you needed to do that, then consider it the same justification that makes you incompetent, an insult, to try to pontificate about national issues relating to Igbos.

Yes I know about natural selection, I don't think anybody will read about evolution without knowing anything about natural selection. But natural selection is simply the selection of those with the desirable ability, it tells us nothing about how the ability comes to be.
In the example you gave with the dogs, the long neck is already present in some of them so it just needs the natural selection of this kind of dog but what happened in cases where the desired ability was never present before? how does the ability comes about before natural selection can favor those with it.
For example, there is a mixed culture of microbes living "happily" then there happens to be shorted of space, nutrient or water, then one group in other to survive producer antibiotics to inhibit the growth of the other microbes, naturally this group will be favored by natural selection and may later be the only one left in the environment, my question is how are they able to know which specific compound to produce that will specifically inhibit the other but not them? mutation? I don't think mutation is that precise, and if it is mutation how is it that it happened at the precise time the organism needed it?

Mind you I also believe in evolution but the only thing we know that drives evolution is the survival instinct, how is this converted to creation of specific tissue, organ, system that will make it possible.
For example if an animal specie requires a long neck for survival, how is it that millions or so years later it actually has the long neck? How was the need for long neck created the long neck?
Like I said, I believe that every complexity we see in living organisms today is a product of millions of evolution but is the instinct to survival or adapt to an environment alone able to create this complexity?
Sorry sir.
It is not instincts that drive Evolution.
Chemistry, Biology and Physics drive Evolution.

You forget, OP, that whereas you have barely 200 yrs accumulated knowledge of chemistry and microbiology, the bacteria that you talk about have a cumulative biochemical information spanning at least 2 billion years.

(3) do you distance yourself from sin?

just because people Don't see GOD Face to face so they have a mere intuition that GOD Doesn't exist - but funny enough you people have never seen devil in person yet you believe he exist, every bad thing that happen to you, you believe its always the handiwork of devil.

try to do all those 3 aforementioned list up there, and i asure you that GOD will see you in spirit and he will make you understand everything.

Pardon me, but for anyone to pray 10 times a day, the issues might be psychiatric, and definitely not religious.

click on that link and pick whatever video you like. even neil de grasse tyson says that gravity nonsense is a hoax

How can gravity be false?
Gravity, or what we call gravity exists.

If you doubt it, jump out of a two story building, and then come back to tell us about it.
We will miss you though . cry. cry

What science is trying to understand is the nature of gravity.
Is a force or a unique form of electromagnetic frequency or energy ?

It is a frequency, a unique frequency.
If you can identify that unique frequency, then it's possible to create a resonant frequency to match and annul it, and viola!! You have levitation.

If we can decode the frequency of gravity, then instead of working to overcome it, as nearly all our technological assets to do, we would be working with it.

We would no longer need jet engines and rockets to travel within and outside Earth.
No more hydrocarbons, no pollutions, no more wars for Oil.
No more $ for Nigeria, no more economy, and no more fight for power at the centre.

Let gravity be your friend.
Don't be a gravity denier. undecided

..why do meteor showers ( about 500 of them or so ) appear clockwork at different constellation annually ? who programmed it that way ? like the geminid meteor showers come on at 7 december to 17 december, the leonids at 6 november to 30 november etc etc. these are clockwork every-year. who programmed these meteor showers to be clockwork ?
The answers are quite simple.
You should try to do more reading, sire.

Every object in space is pulled in assumes a circular orbit around much bigger objects like planets and stars.
It's gravity.

Therefore, all objects in space, moons, moonlets, star dust, space debris, comets and meteors all have circular orbits around massive celestial bodies.

Some objects like comets have circular or elliptical orbits that take them far beyond our solar system and back every several hundred years.

Therefore, the frequency of comets or meteors depends on their orbital periods( which can be mathematically calculated using a simple formula) .

Do, my friend, when you see the Geminid meteor showers between 7th and 17th as you pointed out, it only means that the orbital swing of those high velocity space rocks brings them to our celestial neighborhood around the second week every December Month.

So, yes, you can say they are programmed, but only by the simple laws of PHYSICS, not by the Flying Spaghetti Monster or any intelligent being out there.

In fact, if I were to hurl your fat cheeks into space at a certain day and at a certain angle, you would quickly establish your own orbit around the earth and appear every Christmas Eve as Santa Claus, black Santa Claus.

But Sunday after Sunday , it was the same old recycled bullshyte, sometimes in different packaging.

When I considered that these bullshytes had been recycling for 2,000 years, I could no longer pretend that they made any sense.

Same thing with this so-called movie or documentary.
I knew that there is no way anything emanating from pulpit pimps could contain anything new, other than same recycled faith-logic that they have been peddling for 2,000 yrs.
Nothing in the movie would ever pass the test of rational logic.

The documentary was obviously baked by a person of faith, for people of faith.
