Keyamo cannot do more than wearing that robe in the court in the defence of Tinubu. His coming to court today will not be more than observation. I dont think he is among the team in the first place.

Did you even listen to him at all?. He said Buhari did not make a fresh provision for subsidy, such that subsidy ends by june, therefore subsidy has officially ended with the last administration.
The very first budget that Buhari approved was subsidy provided for?

A good start.

One thing that Buhari lacked was decisive willpower …with all the military background, there was no decisive decision he could make. Osibanjo was even better as acting president

He does not care how you shake him so far you are a VIP.

But in his palace, you must postrate and get the 'Oba n ki o' response.

All the past VIP visitors to the palace have postrated including OBJ with exception of Pastor Adeboye and incumbent Governors and President.
Obasanjo is most times on the right part of History. Tinubu started the madness.

it became an abuse of the education route when people started falsifying information fabricating pof and dependants e.g.fake marriages, fake children (I saw a post where a lady asked how she could bring her 9 yr old niece along to look after her children - isn't this what happened to Mo Farah? ) , bringing in children that they struggle to care for and having to rely on council/public funds to cover their nursery bills and other costs , planning to abandon their studies as soon as they get a job and leaving the uni out of pocket....

A gov spokesperson said on the news that it has become apparent that the education route is now being used wholesale as a back door migration route by people who wouldn't otherwise be able to come into the country.
Unfortunately they are referring to the likes of Indians, Nigerians, sri Lanka

The UK's student visa is not like Canada's. The UK gov expects students to study, stay for 1 or 2 years to gain experience, and then mostly return to their home countries to apply what they have learned. That's why the study and PSW routes do not contribute to settlement, unlike Canada. And that's why there have been calls for student numbers to be removed from official migration figures as they are supposed to be temporary migrants who are expected to return home.

Claiming to be coming to study, when you are really planning to permanently migrate your whole family to the UK, is why they see it as an abuse of the system.

It becomes a big issue for the govt when it happens on a large scale as seen over the last couple of years.
Were you born here? If not, could you enlighten us on the route with which you migrated.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Poanan: 5:08am On May 25, 2023
jedisco:
I believe they needed to act or be seen as doing something moreso with the coming migration numbers expected to be quite high.
The effect of reintroducing the 2 year PSW was stronger than they had envisioned but given its not long they backtracked on that, I doubt they'd be in a hurry to change it.

The Chancellor seems to favour immigration as there's lots of unfilled job spaces with poor economic growth which he's trying to turn around.
Unfilled job spaces where? The way people talk about the unfilled job spaces is not the way it looks. I know of someone who just got a job in audit he has 10yrs experience in audit and he jsut got a job. Meanwhile he finished since September.

shutup there.... he was invited by bbc and asked some questions, then he replied...

besides, uk govt has been planning on limiting african immigrants before... so that man is not the cause of them banning you from packing all your family members into their country through student visa thereby constituting nuisance there at the end of the day... cool
It was not as though the UK govt dodnt have a knowledge of what was going on but reaffirming it is the problem.

I have a male kid that is about 3 years old and I recently observed that a particular kid in the compound that is 2 months older than him always attempt to bully him at sight.

The few times this have happened in my presence, I restrained my son from retaliating cos the boy in question is autistic. Though my wife also informed me, there was a day my son fought back and the boy stopped his bullying attempt for a while afterwards.

This morning my son was about to leave for school. Immediately he came out of the apartment, the boy ran towards him and hit him. Once more, I stopped my son from hitting him back but this time his mum (my neighbour) experienced the scenario and only made a remark to the boy to stop looking for trouble. I felt she made the remark just to create an impression that she was concerned.

I've been feeling so uneasy about this since morning and this is obviously a bullying case and I'm subtly training my kid to tolerate it. Hence, I've concluded that the next time such will happen, I will ask my boy to fight back.

Just to have your opinion on this matter, is fighting back the best approach in this situation putting into consideration the health condition of the bully ?
Which health condition? Bully knows how to bully even with his health condition, then he should be able to get beatings with that also. Let your son fight back they are both kids and you have to start teaching yoir son. The next time ypur son comes crying, make sure u beat him immediately and send him back to fight.

On face value, this is not standard internship. It looks and quack like a placement. Those one integrated with a program: the likes of your MSc+ placement
Yes, but I dont mind if it is going to be a pathway to employment. Getting a job here is not easy. The last interview I did I was not taken. It came as a shock after telling me I will come to work everyday first two weeks of resumption before going hybrid. When i asked for feedback, no tangible reason. The interviewer told me there is no place she can say I should improve on that they decided to go for an exact match looking at where they are coming from. Really discouraging, cos if they knew they wanted an exact match why did you shortlist me to make up the number? So I dont mind for as long as it is a pathway to employment.

Good evening all,

Lexusgs430 and elders here what do you suggest. I was told to produce right to work before my application can be processed and they are giving me 5days to produce it. my student visa expires after mid june and I am yet to get PSW. I applied for an intership which is a pathway (i think o) to a fulltime offer. This company has not even done interview , and I am told to bring right of work. Please elders, what do i tell them considering the point listed below or i should just move on. I didnt lie at any point to them.

you will need to provide evidence in the form of a letter from your university confirming all the points below:

You are available to undertake an internship late June/early July 2023 until the exactly one year after.

Your Tier 4 visa will be valid until the end of your academic course, including the placement year, should you successfully secure an internship with XXXX

You are available to work for 37.5 hours Monday to Friday.

We will not be able to progress your application until this letter has been received as it confirms your right to work in the UK. We appreciate this can take some time to obtain so if you are waiting for this letter to be produced, please send an email to xxxxx and we can review your status.

I think he should call the family and tell them his predicament now. So that they know what their actions have caused and they should pray so it doesn't go the other way. Good morning everyone,

please my friend unfortunately had to work more than 20 hours because the bills were too much and he’s also the first child of the family so he had to pay siblings school fees and take care of his family back home in Nigeria.

He only started Working 34 hours after lectures was over and they were writing dissertation as he had exhausted every savings so needed money badly, It’s time for psw but he’s scared of doing the Visa because he doesn’t want to be caught and deported.

I’ve told him to try his luck and see what happens but he’s saying he doesn’t want to risk it, please is there any way for him to explain to the VO maybe in a cover letter or something else why he had to work those hours,

is it a bit better that he started working past 20 hours after lectures but during dissertation writing, can he also get a care sponsorship job as it is 2 months before the expiration of his visa and he’s been trying for weeks to get a care job but no luck.

Please don’t ignore as all advise are welcomed and my friend is very depressed now, we are trying to help but scared he might unalive himself because the financial pressure of going back to Nigeria might be too much.
Most people I know flouted that rule, he should not be afraid. People who worked over 2ohours and those who worked 34hours both committed same sin. I never heard any rejection except the ones that went viral on line and one or two from here. But he should tell his family to also pray for him. He knew what
