You are very right, those who don’t believe don’t have to believe. You might be earning £20 per hour as a carer if you work for an agency, depending on the type of agency you work for/your role… Got here December last year, started with an agency who was paying £11.5, felt the money wasn’t enough, moved to another agency paying £20 per hour on weekdays, £25 on weekends… Same Healthcare Job… Still heard about another agency that pay as high as £30 per hour but not currently recruiting HCA… Bottom line is, £11 per hour is really a small amount to some people even way before they came here…

Having been in the Uk for over two months now studying at University of west London, I will like to advise admission seekers to opt for better options, only come to UWL if it’s your last resort or you don’t have any other option because the fees are too much for such a waste. Firstly, this school should not be a University but a polytechnic or college. The non academic staffs are super rude and the finance team are on another level. Once you get here, even after paying 10k tuition deposit, they will harass you for the balance of your tuition. The environment where the school is, housing cost is over the roof. Any money you are working will go to accommodations unless you have a family member to stay with. Timetable is adjusted at will and very annoying. Imagine having a class at 9am- 10am and another one at 5.30pm to 7.30pm! They will ensure you come to school up to four times a week. If you miss lectures too many times, they will send you emails threatening to send you back to your country oo. Lecturers will take forever to reply your email, I don’t know who gave them the award for student experience but that thing is audio. Forget about scholarships and tuition discounts.
If you are already coming to UWL, I will advise you to bring enough money along o. Again, UWL should be any admission seeker’s last resort because the school No be am at all. Total waste of all that money I must say. I have been researching ways to transfer and if I can get a refund of my tuition or the tuition is sent to another school. Please if you have any information on changing schools kindly help me please.

If it is that 4times in a week thing. U are not the only one. But again it depends on ur course. Some courses are more intensive in nature, especially numerate/quantitative courses. We also have a class that is supposed to end by 6pm but it ends by 7pm. No fault of the lecturer though cos we ask hell of questions especially when we are doing anything software. The lecturer has to wait and carry everybody along.

The only difference is they attend to mails from what i have seen so far in my school even during weekends.

Just take the good sides. Although for my school i have no regret at all. The only thing is it does not give me the luxury of time to work during school term. Cheer up dear.

You are likely to be denied. It is only ur parents or spouse that can sponsor u. Except u have dpcuments to show she is ur legal guardian. I have no idea what legal guardian documents look like.

please many Nigerians have 500 naira is not as bad as you portray ! there over 120m active phone lines ! meaning they can afford phone of like 3k . I had my NHIS cover at lagoon hospital but strangely the have no dentist . When I need a removal I went to FMC ebutta metta and within 4 hours and 5k even thing done professionally . So Nigeria is not beyond redemption! a Nigeria sport woman just won gold and a Nigerian trained doctor working in the US just donated 1m USD to University of Ibadan!

You are a student, I am not. I don't drive a jeep nor a Mercedes but a small VW golf paid for in cash. I have a credit card but I use sparingly (and truth be told, it has been helpful, once or twice).

I work, earn a very decent living and I am immensely greatful for the opportunity the country has afforded me but again, I know why I am here.

If you can articulate your purpose of being here and work towards it, you can achieve it. This is a land of opportunities, just don't be one of the "Nigeria is dead, I must japa crew!"

The other day i saw a student driving a jeep. Is the jeep the car he should buy now? Mind you that person has not finished paying school fees and he did not buy the jeep on credit. If the jeep is cheap he should also think about maintenance.

So many people started using the latest iphone within a short time of coming here using credit to buy a phone they could afford while in Nigeria.

I know of someone who drives a very nice benz very clean benz and this person is on minimum wage. At the end of the day, these are the people that will shout nothing in UK. Meanwhile the person is funding a temptation he cant afford for now.

I dont know if there is anything in UK cos I am still in school and I dont do more than myself for now at least.

Don’t limit your application to Big4s try smaller firms too. Most of them now sponsor. Don’t get tired of rejection emails either, try different locations, change your emails (might kee getting rejected at other locations of it had been rejected previously).

Ensure your CV is tailored to the JDs ie key words in JD should be in your CV.

LinkedIn is also a good place to search. Post to your LinkedIn in once in a while. I notice number of recruiters that message me increased anytime I make a new post.

On the home.gov.uk webiste, you'll find a list of companies with sponsorship license. You may be surprise to find quite a few outside the big4 and healthcare also have these license.

I felt bad cos the one on the update service was only for adult and then when i got children and adult i thought i was going to pay again. My bank card had issues then so that was how I didnt add again and didnt accept the job again. when i got a new place they didnt accept the one I gave them because it was not on the update service. It was in course of looking for ways to dodge that money i saw somethjng like adding certificate to update service.

So i had to pay 55pounds for new dbs lol. Meanwhile the first two were free.

You can't add another, because the details should be the same....... Unless you have enter wàhálà, after last issue........

To avoid paying for another DBS check, simply give your DBS update service number.............

The one have on the update was only for adult and it was not accepted because the new place i got required adult and children. After getting the adult and children they advised i put it on the update service.

Before you start to judge me, remember that the girl you are sleeping with now is also someone’s Ex. Well I cannot say I am totally in the right for sleeping with my friends Ex girl friend- They broke up 2 years ago.
