PoliticsRe: The Second Eze Ndi Igbo Parliamentary Office by PointB: 10:44am On Feb 04, 2013
Eze Promoe: There's one question I'd love to ask.

Do non-South Eastern Igbos have equal right and eligibility in decision making, voting, contesting for elections and involvement in the affairs of Ohaneze Ndigbo NL? Just a question.

OneNaira is from South South. He would have been polled in the last election if he had accepted his nomination. Igbos, whether from NC or SS are Igbos and are accorded full rights as far as this Eze Ndi Igbo institution on NL is concerned, no discrimination.
PoliticsRe: The Second Eze Ndi Igbo Parliamentary Office by PointB:
@donchris,
I have noted your comment yet again about me. Other than saying they are completely childish, I'll add that they emanated from the very depth of your ignorance. I won't dissipate energy or waste time explaining myself to you.
PoliticsRe: The Second Eze Ndi Igbo Parliamentary Office by PointB:
ifyalways: Please, who "decided" the ezes duties here?
Why should an eze be limited to just "commenting" ? And I might as well add, to comment ONLY what a sect of Igbos want to hear, in other words a puppet .

Thank God that I'm just ify and not Odumchi or Ogugua cheesy

Thanks anyway.
I think they should be given a free hand to pick a leadership style, we can now come in to advise or criticise accordingly.
If the Eze doesn't comment what else would he be doing? Getting us jobs, wives, husbands, boy/girlfriends, houses, or building roads, schools, hospitals on Nairaland? And how exactly is he even going to do that if he does not starting by visibly commenting?

No one is suggesting a particular leadership style to the new Eze in any case. All previous commentator only ask him of one thing and one thing only - that he shows leadership. I believe also that he has explained his constraints and willingness to lead. I personally don't expect him to lead the line like OnlyTruth did, but he can lead the line like only Odumchi could and achieve similar or better result!

warrior01: why is this man so blood thirsty? Everything about him reeks of hypocrisy and violence. I wonder who takes him serious these days.
Let's thank God for the modicum of christianity in him due to his conversion. Were he to have remain in his former religion, I have no doubt, the guy would have become a Shekarua (?) with AK47 and suicide vest strapped followers.

I pity those who go to his church every sunday only to be filled with hate and venom. Very sad!
PoliticsRe: Only Ghana-style Of Cleansing Can Save Nigeria, Says Bakare by PointB: 10:03am On Feb 04, 2013
How about an Elijah, who will cleanse Nigeria of all the fake prophets, fake teachers, and fake pastors? The types that predict doom for a sitting president year in, year out, yet nothing happens. The types that tell Nigeria that someone is not a messiah, then do a 180 degree turn to attempt foisting such on Nigeria. Oh Lord send us and Elijah to rid us of prophets, teachers, and pastor who demand blood sacrifices, by encouraging coups, and bloodletting for their own selfish benefit!

Oh God, send an Elijah NOW to rid us of prophets of Baah, such as BAAHkare!

manny4life: Thank you. I did not see it on the first page, sometimes my eyes plays tricks on me... Thanks again.

I've read every word for word, used my pen to make certain question marks and what have you - YES, though I have some questions, but I will defer the question till a later time seeing that a lot of tension is on the rise. I'm pleased that the Constitution does address a good number of pressing issues, however, I think there should be some refinement, nonetheless, this is a good start.

Thank you for the time and effort being put to make this work...

Chukwu gozie gi...
I agree with you. I think it's a step forward in a generally positive direction. An improvement over the time we didn't have one at least. Half a loaf is often better than none. Hopefully, the refinements will come when we agree to review it.

odumchi: I believe I posted the constitution for all to see on the first page of the this thread, officially signalling the end of the reform stage.
My apologies, Eze. I, and most likely every other person here missed it.

@all, kindly refer to the attachment in Eze Odumchi second comment on this thread to familiarize yourself with the constitution guiding the Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland institution. I believe such knowledge will enable everyone know his right and responsibility.

If our Northern brother regards another Northerner as Igbo man, I wonder then how the view other groups from the SS.

Na wa o.

A little spark is what is needed in the combustive mix. Every non-core Northerner anywhere near the North should consider taking safety measure to protect, and defend himself.

We are approaching,'There was a country' phase 2. Only that Nigeria will be that country, in this second phase.

dammytosh: " Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND)."

Not from her purse. I WEEP FOR THIS COUNTRY. cry .

It is very pathetic that Nigeria is hopeless with clueless leaders and clueless future leaders. Let me set this straight, TETFUND gave the money and allowed oluremi to present the cheque as a senator representing Lagos state and a member of Senate Committee on education. My God feeling says she was not instrumental 1 bit to the disbursement of the funds.

Read about TETFUND here. She was just a member of the Senate Committee on Education and UI had benefited from the fund even without ACN senator being in the commitee.

http://www.tetfund.gov.ng/

I can understand why southwest works on pages of newspaper alone. Propaganda and cluelessness is the order of the day.

Eh yah SHE GAVE ? LOL any way, some GEJ likes on Nairaland fell for the crap.
PDP should get credit for this funds but as usual, their media group are bunch of corrupt pot belly fools who have no idea of what their job function is.
Na wa oo. You have put a very big hole on these AC.N propagandists and their shameless lies. Good job!

What exactly is the difference between Bakare and El Rufia?

Dede1: They are unashamedly serving the interest of Yoruba. It may go beyond mere serving the interest of Yoruba as their personal engagement in private life could point to something uncovered yet.
We do not have conclusive evidence to suggest that yet. I think we should all calm down and give them the benefit of any doubt. In any case, their regime is still nascent, and false starts are very probable. Let's calm down, and tone down.

Dede1: This pathetic miscreant has written extensive diatribes on Lt Gen Ihiejirika as a result of the alleged recent promotion in Nigerian army. Each of this fool’s craps was on the subject of the alleged tilted promotion exercise and centered on 1966, Biafra and Ndigbo. Yet this jackass has the effrontery to take issues on who have independent and unalloyed view or lack thereof.

An ill-informed independent and unalloyed view is a foolish one at best.
I have already called out the miscreant, and his market woman tactics. Apparently, he is bent on fomenting trouble by creating bad-blood. I've concluded it's best to ignore his diatribe on this thread.

I never voted the goons who are parading them selves as whatever their supporters deemed fit the moment their identities spelt moderator on this forum.
I think we should just calm down and give them the benefit of the doubt. Let's not forget that many were called, only few answered the call.

Farouk the son of Lawan (Theme Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)
You know Salisu Buhari
And Ghali Naa’ba
Patricia called Etteh
And Bank-ole and so on
But do you recall,
The most crooked representative?

Farouk the son of Lawan
Was a very outspoken man
And if you ever knew him,
You would even say upright

All of the other looters
Use to hail and call him good
They always doff their hats
For Mr. Integrity

Then on foggy subsidy probe
Otedola came with bucks
While the tapes roll frame by frame
Farouk caroused the dough

When Nairalanders heard these
They collaspsed in heap and sigh
"Farcrook the son of Lawan
You belong to Kuje Cell!"

What then, is the problem with us? As part of our governance evolution, most people become public servants by accident, but they soon get so used to the glamour of office that they lose sight of their own ordinariness. They use the system to climb: to become media celebrities, to gain international attention and to morph into self-appointed guardians of the Nigerian estate. They mask self interest motives as public causes and manipulate the public’s desire for improvements in their daily struggles as opportunity for power grab.
El Rufia is a dangerous man!

I think what critics should do here is to counter with facts what the Op has written about GEJ achievements.
Rather than regurgitating old worn out lines and propaganda aimed at positioning their party as better, even as we know better!

Personally I think these achievement are mostly correct. However, I would like to see more work done in other areas and places. For instance, what efforts are being made to improve PortHarcout Port facilities? How about Ibaka Port? What is the plan to accelerate it completion and commissioning? Why is the delay in starting a new Niger Bridge, and of course the East West Road? Thes projects are critically to opening up other part to the country and stemming migration to other urban cities that have such facilities.

So, ki ni big deal? If the man favours his people? clear case of giving a dog a bad name to hang it. Who are those shouting and trying to skin this man alive because he is ibo?

Even though, I don't support any corruption or trying to hold brief for him but I want to shamelessly say here that the recruitment process in Nigeria military has alway been like this, right from the time immemorial. Those without sin should cast the first stone!.

Now, where were these people writing petition when small town like Zuru emirate council in Kebbi State produced many generals? The likes of General Ishaya Bamaiyi, Musa Bamaiyi, General Sani Sami? Jakolo?? No one complained when Musa Bamaiyi and Ishaya Bamaiyi, both Generals and brothers from thesame parents became ministers simultaneously?

Where were these people when General Ishaya Bamaiyi the then COAS enlisted truck loads of miscreants from his village into the Nigerian army disregarding the due process and the useless quota system?

Many of which can't even write their names? There was a time when more than half of recruits in Kaduna Jaji came from his village and at thesame time populating NDA with Zuru indigenes. Yes, quote me anytime!!!!

Selective Promotionhuh Where were they when Obj promoted Nuhu Ribadu from mere Assistance Commissioner of Police ( ACP) to Assistance Inspector General of Police (AIG), the first of its kind in the history of the Nigerian police blatantly against the recommendation of Police Service Commission?
Truth is bitter to say. But in the end, it always serve as a source relieve those who are bold enough to face it. Well-done!

ogugua88: Have you guys gone through the reform thread? Are you content with it or should changes be implemented? Everyone's been pretty silent on it. It would be unwise to proceed only for people to want corrections when those stages have passed.

There are minutes in the thread if you don't wish to read the entire 10+ pages or so.
I think/suggest we should make available the document of the reform to all. Going back to the tread will start another back and forth proposal. However, the document we have, no matter how imperfect should be able to serve us, pending another review. There indeed many other things to attend to rather than going back to that thread.

I think leadership of Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland can bring a closure to this lingering issue, by 'unveiling' the document.
