blaqoracle: the igbos are still behaving like a rape victim. A Rape victim tend to be wary of all other men. igbo does not know what it takes to have a leader, because the have never had a kingOk Mr leader. Who is the Yoruba, hausa and fulani leader today? Give me the roll call of the 'leader' of all major ethnic group in Nigeria. Every idi.ot these days seems to be expert in Igbo affairs even when they know next to nothing about Igbo! |
Onlytruth: The same point I made and my comment was "hidden".That too bad my brother. But no one can hide the truth forever. Truth will always surface. |
@Op, What has this got to do with politics (section). I thought there is a sport section! |
ifihearam: @fisherman,My friend sharrap there. You people are fond of repeating this idiotic comments even when it has been severally discounted. Roll out the list of massive looters in Nigeria and show us the number of Igbos in it. As for the disunity, point out any ethnic group that is united in Nigeria. Don't tell me the north, cos there in nothing united among them. Not even the Yorubas. Some of the so-called unity are those united in stealing ND oil. If that is what unity is all about, the count us out. Or because the ijaws produced the president by sheer luck and massive support of other ethnic groups, you are now in position to lecture Igbo about unity! Guy, it is not by force to comment. Sometimes you folks should learn to keep your mouth shut rather than repeating these stale lies! |
The only thing that is permanent in politics is interest! Igbo voting population is massive and very diverse. While it may not be enough to give a SE the presidency, it sure will fetch substantial votes across many state. There are different approaches to winning the presidency - the direct, indirect, and combo approach. I think Ohaneze recognise these, and are applying it. Neutrals will be agree with me that to outrightly demand the presidency will be deemed offensive, by the same people who think it is laughable to plead for it. Assuaging the SW was the reason for Obj presidency, similar thing was done for the SS. It was also said that Yar Adua Sr death in prison was partly the reason for picking Yar Adua Jr. But this is Nigeria, a country of double standard. That is why a request to barnish the ghost of Biafra and it's attendant marginalisation by conceding the presidency to the SE is seen as laughable to some quarters, and surprising by some sons who should know better. In anycase, 2015 is still some 2 years away, and in political era, it is a long period. Enough time for Ohaneze to access all the fact and scenerio and come up with better strategy. There are many route to the market. I only like to remind fellow Igbos to put on their thinking cap. Ohaneze is the closest to what we have a central leadership in Nigeria, joining your traducers to cast aspersion only play into their game plan. Don't destroy your own. |
See rebranding... ![]() |
seanet01: You can not outsmart Tinubu. Akanbi_edu: What is the purpose of this?Lol. Why are you trying to shut up your loquacious brother? We already know there is nothing altruistic in the motive behind the so-call merger. It's all about getting a Yoruba man in as a president after 2015 via the vice president route! Anyway the merger is already a failed project! |
This is one threat the FG should take very seriously. There is no way to verify if MEND has has nuclear capability. But with our porus marital border and a lot of piracy going on in the gulf of guinea, acquiring a smuggled suitcase nuke from old russian stockpile is remotely possible. One thing I believe that can solve this problem is same thing every one ask - full fiscal federalism. Let every state or region be responsible his/her resources. I support MEND's call for resource control, but I won't support mass murder! |
This sahara misreporters self! Different stories everyday! How many ailments does Chime have? Since the story keep changing, does that mean that the initial reliable sources turned out unreliable? How soon do we get another Chime's ailment from another 'reliable source'? Sahara reporter is a joke! Junk journalism at its best! |
Fixing the power sector is the right thing to do. Well done PHCN/FG/GEJ and all those responsible for the improvement. |
Lord Naya: The level of infrastructural and human developments in Imo state is awesome. The multiplier effects of this power plant coupled with the gigantic 3.5 billion dollars Shell-Chevron gas plant Assa, Oguta port, Imo industrial park Ngor Okpala, 500 million dollars 12 floors heartland shopping mall Owerri, the big 25000 tonnes per day Nsu tiles, 500 units European design and American built Duplexes (Diaspora Village) Ogbaku, and others i can't remember; is not just breath taking but also huge. The government of Imo state is really doing well. Congrats to Ndi Imo State.Nwanne, a picture would have spoken more than your 92 words. ![]() |
Anyway, the picture will be clear by next year. |
joseph1832: Are you listening to yourself bro? So its a crime that he didn't steal money to build houses and buy land in every nook and cranny in Nigeria. That is the problem with some of you - you dont read. And when you do comprehension is a problem. Must you steal to build a house? Are you implying that all the houses in Lagos and Abuja were built with stolen money, and owned by thieves? Or in your mind you believe it is right for a 70+ old man, who have worked for most part of his live, to live in penury? Guy, his integrity is not the question here, but his foresight and ability to project into the future. In my books a 70 year old man who earned substantial remuneration all his life and is unable to put up decent home for himself and his children is a failure! Buhari clearly could not take care of himself, he can't be expected to do so for Nigeria. |
danjohn: Demdem please dont be too quick to say that. In 2011 GEJ won 99% in Abia, 99% in Anambra, 98% in Imo, 95.6% in Ebonyi, and 98.5% in Enugu. In total GEJ got 4,985,246 votes in the Southeast while Buhari got 20,335 votes. GEJ netted 4,964,911 votes in the Southeast alone. Please allow them to count their chicks before they are hatched. |
How much was a plot of land in Abuja in the 70s and early 80s when buhari was in his prime? If Buhari has no house in Abuja, it has nothing to do with been clean or upright. Rather, it has more to do with been clueless, lacking foresight, and no ability to make realistic future projection. After several years of (paid) service to Nigeria, not saving enough money to purchase a land and build house in Lagos and Abuja, it a thing of shame not of pride. Clueless, visionless, dour folks like buhari will be a danger to Nigeria. His time has past, let him go and bite his finger for wasted opportunity. We need someone with new ideas in 2015! |
Abagworo: My stand remains that we can criticize anybody without disrespect as criticism is very important. My problem with those guys started because I criticized Peter Obi. Since then they turned every important discussion into a war. You can notice that in all threads about Anambra nobody has condemned Anambra people and when non-Igbos do, I come to the defence of Anambra but Chino sees nothing good in other Igbo States. I have a million and one threads to go and condemn Anambra but you won't see me there.I agree we can criticize any governor; but we must necessarily do so without appearing to attack the people, and without any veneer of malice and hate. I also recognize the fact that Chino, Nri Priest and host of others are very passionate about Anambra state, to the extent that they possess a delusion of grandeur. But Chino, Nri Priest and co do not in anyway represent Anambra, just as you and the others defending Imo also do not represent Imo. We can not allow chino's of this world or any other person's myopia to continue to create this type of situation, similarly we do not also appreciate the fact that you participate in fanning this ember discord in several occasions. The best way way to deal with people who claim Igbo yet disparage other Igbo speaking state is to call them to order without engaging in them in back and forth tit for tat banter, or exposing their states in other to school them. Experience have shown that this is not helpful. We must deliberately act to extinguish the flame, never to stoke it. Igbo, like every other ethnic group will always have it's assemblage of fools, and clowns. Engaging every one of them in the name of defending your corner of Igboland creates more problems than it solves; and we cannot continue to create unnecessary division and tension within our self. Your 'we are not one' stand is not particularly helpful in this wise. Many of us know of your pan-Nigeria stand, but you must agree with me that achieving a sort of unity in Igboland is also central to whatever is going to happen in Nigeria. I simply enjoin you and other to help us foster unity. |
Abagworo: My friend don't mention my name alongside those illiterate traders. Never have I argued about who's superior. My stand remains that we are not the same people in origin, ideology and to an extent language. So no need for any comparison or trying to see ourselves as same people. Period. What is the difference between a mad man and the one fighting with a mad man? None! As far as this matter is concerned, you are not different from chino, nri-priest, and the rest. You should bow your head in shame. Very disappointing from someone who should know better. |
Okija_juju: @ Nri PriestThis is highly irresponsible. Our people are disgracing themselves and you are urging them on. And you wonder why folks consider you immature! |
Sincere 9gerian: This was a previously comatose sector that is being revived. The goal at the moment is to first revive the sector and provide social services to the citizens. The issue of profitability is secondary for now. The same govt that provided HUGE funds to revive the railway should be able to provide supplementary funds for maintenance. It is correct to say the sector was previously comatose. This why the NRC spokesman should have focused on number of people moved from point A to B, and infrastructure put in place, not on the revenue generated. Dwelling on revenue send a message that the report is about profitability. Knowing how public officials manage government properties, it is not too early to start talking about making it profitable, and privatizing it. There is need to plan ahead. That noted, I say kudos to the Fed Government for revitalizing this critical sector. |
How much does it cost the NRC per trip in terms of fuel, personnel cost, and maintenance and other recurrent expenses? How do the intend to mobilise the 'profit' for growth and ensure that the railways does not go comatose in the near future? Shouldn't government start thinking of privatizing the NRC now that things are getting better for that sector? |
Abagworo and co are a disgrace to Igboland! Shame on you guys!! |
Funny stuff. I hope this is not a satire. ![]() |
I sincerely hope he is able to deliver. All the best Prof! |
Biafra rep: I beg to differ, Chino is the architect of Igbo disunity on nairaland not AbagworoI am with OnlyTruth on this point. Abagworo is more intelligent, and more articulate; using his intelligence to deliberately (or subtly) fan the amber of discord is more dangerous that what Chino and Nri Priest are doing. Calling him to order now is very appropriate! |
I support the Catholic Bishops Conference on their suspension of activity at CAN national level for reason they stated; and also for stating that Northern presidency is not a panacea for boko haram terrorism. I however think they should not stop at that; they should use every available legitimate means to curtail the excesses of the CAN president. While CAN is not an opposition party, CAN is also not, and should not be an appendage of any government - whether good or bad! |
You guys should just quit it. I see no headway! Maybe the MOD should just move the thread to Ethnic/Tribal Politics section. That's what it has degenerated into anyway! MOD pls over to you. |
rasputinn: I'm not surprised at Buhari's opportunistic rant.He so often tries to politicise every incident and shamelessly seeks to profit therefrom, however and unfortunately for him,the more he tries, the more uncaring,unempathic,hard-hearted and wicked he reveals himself to be and the more his desperation for power showsCorrect. Buhari's desperation for power is very nuseating. So much so that you will never him proffer solutions or ideas. He only thrives in making others feel bad so that make himself appear saintly! |
fatdon2: Nigerians hatred to buhari even frmSpot my guy. It is only those who want to use Buhari for their selfish purpose that still try to sell the old bigot to Nigeria. Sooner or later they will run him to the grave! |
You got that very long epistle in an SMS? Op, you got jokes! |
Sam_Ikenna: Yea, I agree, there's always a non-zero probability that he might be jilted by PDP power-brokers. Anyways, nothing is etched in stone. Whatever permutation we all make online is always going to be just online, you never know what and how the wind will blow, thats why I consider proponents of exclusionary politics as jokers.Very well articulated my brother Ikenna. The bolded is also very spot on. As your rightly noted, the potential for the return of militancy in the creek, and serious agitation for secession in the event of exclusionary politics is very high. Having watched the North embraced GEJ administration with terrorism, I suspect the least the SE/SS will do is to revert back to sabotaging the oil industries and by extension the economy, or outright secession depending on how whoever succeed GEJ chooses to play. It was easy to steal Niger Delta oil in the past with impunity due to obvious circumstance. These days, these thieves must necessarily put on a thinking cap. If Yorubas think it will be easy to gain access to the presidency via the backdoor by supporting someone as tainted as buhari after giving obj just a few years ago, well, they are welcome to try! |
I wonder how some of you still find time to engage in this childishness and stup.idity. Anambra, Imo, etc are all Igbos. If you insist on your stup.idity in the name of stone throwing and counter stone throwing, you clowns invariable ask other to label all Igbos with your inane and misguided tags. How could you guys be so childish. This is disgusting! |
Chino and Nri Priest are overly sensitive in their defense of Anambra State. You hardly see any of these scuffle without their names popping up in the thread. One thing the fail to understand is that Anambra needs no defending; and their continual diatribe against other SE state as they attempt to defend Anambra only keep creating a seemingly atmosphere of disunity. I urge both of them, and all others involved in the shameful activity to kindly desist. If does no one any good. |
