So as not to mislead the uninformed, let me clarify one more time. I had no hand in the emergency of Odumchi or Ogugua as Eze and Eze Nwayi respectively. My involvement is limited to the fact that I officiated along side other capable hands. For the avoidance of doubt, they won majority nominations, and majority votes. They are duly elected by Ndi Igbo. The records and details of the vote are online for all and sundry to peruse and draw inference. Ndi Igbo spoke and the electoral officers respected their wish within the gambit of the Electoral Guidelines. I believe the new Eze and Eze Nwayi will take us to the next stage of our journey. Supporting them now should be our paramount concern if indeed we are Igbos. And those who still have misgivings, I will ask them to work with the Eze and Eze Nwayi to seek whatever redress they want. Again I wish Eze and Eze Nwayo successful reign. |
You are partially correct rhiano, The main objective of the Eze Ndi Igbo titleship is to achieve unity and oneness among Ndi Igbo on this forum. That is the idea. That said, I recognise my limit as an individual, and there is very little I can achieve alone. Fortunately, I am not alone in this mission, and have never been alone. There are many of us here who seek unity of purpose, and cohesiveness in ideas among Ndi Igbo. We will continue to work at it, slow but steadily. It is not a sprint, but a marathon; it's not an event, but a process. It certainly is a journey, on that path we shall continue. We will not back down. We need not be too vocal, to the point of shouting it from the rooftop. But our action will speak for itself in the course of time. We are Ndi Igbo, and we will not back down! We recognise the fact that certain people are afraid of what a united Igbo can achieve. But we will let them worry about that, while we continue to take these little steps. As for your candidate Okija_juju, surely he will have his chance again at the polls this year, hopefully this time around Ndi Igbo will accept him quietly. His fate is in his hands. And if he wins, like Odumchi, and OnlyTruth before him, so be it! Thank you for felicitating with our new Eze. |
donchris369: Yorubas are just feasting on this thread....lol..... Our igbo brothers and sisters are just passing by looking at clowns enjoying and massaging their egos. This thread is a confirmation that odumchi and ogugua are yoruba leaders on nairaland and have been dissociated from ndigbo as a whole on nairaland.. Lol.. For me they are oba and olori of yorubaland. Wish them well as they carry on their duty of promoting the yorubas. Are you not tired of this? Why not give them benefit of the doubt rather than this senseless diatribe? We (Igbos) nominated and elected them. And we are ready to work with them and help them achieve result. Please quit it already, it's not helpful in anyway. Thank you! |
Welcome to the throne Eze Odumchi. As you aim to continue in the giant footsteps of our premier Eze OnlyTruth, be assured that we will stand by you every step of the way. I will however like to suggest a few things: 1. As the tradition dictates, it is imperative you choose your NEW council members. 2. As soon as possible, let's conclude on the reform conference by publishing the official outcome of the conference to enable everyone know the rules guiding the titleship. Once again, I hope, pray and will lend my support to a successful tenure under your leadership. |
Prominent amongst the names that featured in the secret memo is that of then CBN Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, senior officials of the finance ministry and a former president. Those who come to equity must come with clean hands. If Soludo's arrest must not be viewed as persecution, then the former president mentioned in the scandal must also be arrested with him. How do we place grown men who write long epistle that the other person is crying foul, whereas simply argument about justice and equity is being overlooked? I think this is a pure case of selective justice. It takes hypocrite to come here and argue otherwise. If we don't get the 'former president' in chain, then Soludo should be given a pass! What's food for the goose should be food for the gander! There I stand! |
pro01: Why bother to respond to that buffoon? Forget his tribal grandpa OBJ, his main master (Bola Tinubu) is the biggest and greediest thief in Nigerian political history. But you don't expect to talk about that. He would ask you which court has found Tinubu guilty. . .as if any court has found the likes of IBB guilty. These fools are hypocritical jokers. No need to dignify them with responses. My brother thank you. I keep my distance from some of these hypocrites, but sometimes you just have to remind them that you know what they are! |
Andre Uweh: What is going on now. I remember we do have a new Eze Ndigbo nairaland. When is his tenure starting?.I think 9ja_I_hail has given you the apt answer. I hope the holiday is finished soon. A lot needs to be done. By the way, I wonder what happened to the inauguration plans. Anyway, let's keep hope alive! |
babapupa: The world is really tired of you people playing the victim card. Its like you are never responsible for anything, its always other people victimizing you. smh...I know for certain that the world is waking up to you people hypocrisy and scheming. When are you going to answer the question of 'former president' who probably presided over this affair in similar fashion as the Halliburton's Saga? Why is Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo not at EFCC with Soludo? When are you lots going to quit this hypocrisy already. It's getting boring? |
I normally think that Adams Osho was one of the few performing governor's but then some of these governors are astute in the art of propaganda. Anyway, like the Op said, it's Benin peeps affair. I hope the mod do at least recommend this post to frontpage. It would be good to hear from other Edo folks. AC.N is gradually losing it mojo. Bullsh1t can get you to the top, but you need something more to stay atop! |
babapupa: Do people contest election from foreign jail. Ask Ibori.....Extradite first before thumping your chest! Hater! |
Prominent amongst the names that featuredBetween Soludo and say any of Gowon, Gowon, IBB, Abdulsalam, and IBB (all former president possibly referenced in the memo) who is more prominent. Those who don't see that Soludo is simply a fall guy here should explain why 'a former president' is not in chains with Soludo? So give me the former president in chains or live with the tag of selectively prosecuting Soludo because he is Igbo! |
Incidentally the main culprit is also the accuser. By the way, the secret memo indicted a 'former president'. Since the 'secret memo' was sent to Yar Adua, and the 'bribe' was paid to foreign official, why is 'a former president' not keeping Soludo comapny in EFCC gulag? Anyway, this is Nigeria, by the next year Soludo will stand for Governorship election under PDP or APGA or even the much maligned AC.N and emerge Anambra State Governor. The 'former president' will see that as his (former president) only escape route. I am sure he doesn't want to die in prison. |
It's really sad to see someone like Soludu being persecuted in this manner, while the Haliburton scandal is still being covered up. In anycase, GEJ knows where his palms are greased and he is expected to do what is needful. 2015 is on everyone's mind now, and Ohanaze certainly have a card or two to play! |
One is a blood thirsty bigot the other a known fraud! Why would the FG waste time digging up dirt. Tinubu is just throwing tantrum to gain cheap attention. Abati will be very silly to respond to this. |
So if Buhari loses in 2015 (which of course means the election is not free and fair) he will call his hordes once again to the street. Only this time not to slaughter corpers but to divide the country. This is yet another wonderful reason not to vote for this violent man in 2015. Let's divide the country already! |
I think the Op made a very fair assessment of what could be termed landmark achievement of GEJ in a short period of two years (as substantial president). Well, there is still at least two more years to go. Let's see how much impact he could make in the coming years. By the way, I reserve the right judge his perform with bias to (electric)power. |

@topic, It doesn't have to be Buhari in 2015, neither does it have to be GEJ. But if Buhari squares up against GEJ in 2015, well, we just have to make sure that the man who truncated democracy is not rewarded with it. Buhari belong to the zoo! |
danjohn: Sincere 9gerian you are a paid PDP agent. Why are you obsessed with Buhari? LEAVE BUHARI ALONE!!!I don't quite get why we should leave Buhari alone. A lot of Nigerians would certainly like to know what Buhari forgot in the State House, that corpers had to die because he lost election. |
Standing5: Lagos state is unigue in the whole of Africa cos of its population density. PointB probably didn't consider the fact that wages and recurrent expense will be extremely high for lagos state compared to other states. Lagos state needs more hospitals, water, health personel, traffic warders, teachers, and civil servants generally to cater for its populace than any other state. The only thing that would have been a consolation for the LASG is its landmass that should restrict road distance but the consolation is negated by the high population the roads support which leads to more maintenance cost. This is actually a better way of defending Fashola rather than the usual tripe of ethnic jingoism touted by various respondents on this thread. And the lame crew that talk about Rivers, Bayelsa, should be reminded that the thread was open to discuss Fashola and Lagos, kindly stay on course. It's true that Lagos has large civil servant population and as such pay more on recurrent expenses. However, since there is hardly any data that gives an inkling to the size of the civil service in Lagos, let alone the cost of maintaining them, we still owe it upon ourselves to ask hard questions of Lagos State Government. By the way, what is Lagos State doing to cut down it's recurrent expenses? Does paying Tinubu a huge chunk of it's revenue help? Lagos generate over N23B in IGR and receives over N7B in Federal Allocation. How is the fund dispensed? Most of the project are funded with externally borrowed funds, and the private sector. The public pay to use them. These externally funded projects have more to do with the commercial viability of the state than any other consideration. So the question remains: How has Fashola deployed over N30B to provide for the needs of the citizens of Lagos State? Is it enough to say that the civil service is huge, let's clap for him for using a huge chunk of the N30B to maintain them? Does the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos not demand more transparency? Shouldn't we know for instance how much is spent on feeding in Alausa? Why is there no running water in Lagos homes? |
ndu_chucks: We thank God say dem no blame herdsmen this time around.Very funny. I think GEJ is responsible for this, and should take the blame. What did he do to prevent the rascally hunters from burning down the school? If GEJ were not to be so clueless, perhaps this wouldn't have happened. |
skyfall: I wonder o. If the church has nothing to hide, why should a journalist give an advance notice, as long as he's ready to subject himself to security scan? This is not PDP convention o. Na wa for we Nigerians. Our mumu don do for dis "men of God."How can you proof first-hand that the band of camera-totting group meandering their way to the front row are actually who they claim they are? Whether the church has something to hide or not is not the issue here. The point is that such large gathering of people demands adequate security, fore notice is certainly part of security. Sowore is simply a thug. Any sane journalist will understand the importance of protocol or respect of sanctity of place of worship. Would Sowore pull such stunt in a popular mosque in the North having their jumat or whatever popular service they have? |
larride: Go and read up the 100 days in office meeting. Take off your PDP red tinted glasses and see Fashola achievements/project for yourself.I don't give a rat's ar/se about PDP. To blazes with them for all I care. My point, and that of every keen observer is that juxtaposed with over N30B every month for that last three years or so, Fashola's touted achievements pales into insignificance. The BRT project is both world bank funded and private investment, pray where is N30B spent? Why is there no running water in Lagos homes? The Lekki-Epe road is private sector build and already tolled! Same applies to the Ikoyi bridge. The proposed Mile2-Badagry 10 lane project is funded by world bank, like the proposed expansion of the Ikorodu road. Did it take N30B to chase okada rider all over the city of Lagos? Was it spent planting and watering flowers? There are litany of over inflated Lagos State sponsored projects in Lagos though (even if on paper), but the question remain how do they measure up to over N30B/month income of Lagos State. Shouldn't taxpayers ask where their money is going? |
It is not about having anything personal against Fashola. The core of the discontent is that Lagos State receives over N30B every month, but there is no commensurate project completed to justify the income. What's even alarming is that most of the project attributed to Fashola are either private sector sponsored or World Bank financed. Isn't it then worrying that while Lagos State generate high IGR and receives substantial FG allocation, the state is continually being immersed further and further into external debt. If this is not sign of stealing and systematic corruption, pray, say what is? |
Sowore is intelligent and articulate, but he is a thug nonetheless. The least he should have done is to send an advance notice of his intention to the church authority especially in view of security situation of the country. Why jump on them? Does he think everyone know about his sh1tty lying website, let alone who he is? For all we know Boko Haram can also pull such stunt as he did. Serves him right! |
alj harem: So why use Lagos as an example. It is annoying you know ?Why is it annoying to use Lagos? Is Lagos not a microcosm of Nigeria, judging from its cosmopolitan nature? The earlier folks like you begin to accept that beyond, Yoruba, other non-indigenes are also stake holders in Lagos, the better for all of us. @topic, It is politics, who has the support base should go for it. In a free and fair election, Tinubu imposition of candidate will come crashing like a house of card. Let the game begin! |
Ufeolorun: You most times come across as a bloviator with no strong conviction whatsoever, ready to take any position just to have a long winded chat.It is shocking the admin. is pandering to the whims of people like you.Yes, people like you keep the forum going/active because of your love for soggy arguementsI seriously think you have mistaken me for some else. Perhaps you are describing yourself when you spoke about having no conviction. Or how would you on one hand claim I have no conviction, and then turn around to say that the Admin is pandering to my whims? Does that mean the Admin have no conviction as to pander to my every whims, are you confused, or you simply want to start a 'soggy argument'? |
MegaMan2020: A set up? What a disgraceful thing to say. Seun has allowed a pro Igbo man to be a mod and you are talking about set up? Ingrate!Remind me again pls, what is the crime in being a pro-Igbo. I know being anti-other_ethnic groups is wrong, but what's wrong promoting your own? |
Jarus: What is this one saying? Perhaps someone should remind him that I resigned voluntarily based on personal principle, and still remains jn good term with NL powers that be, including Seun, that if I decide to return, it won't take 2 hours to get the position back. What some of you are begging for, some of us drop it voluntarily. Far back 2011, I had turned in my resignation , only being persuaded to reconsider. So I don't know what you are sermonizing overWhether you resigned voluntarily or was forced to resign is not the business of my post. Like I always advice, read my post again slowly this time around, perhaps then you will get the message. |
Jarus did a fairly good job for most part of his tenure. However, for the last three months or so, Jarus somehow (deliberately or naturally) lost the plot. He put in half hearted efforts in some of his own initiatives, arrogate to himself the power of judge, jury and executioner; and wielded the big stick (ban) frequently in a seemingly sadistic manner, against perceived enemies. Later on his own suppressed ethic bigotry overwhelmed him, giving him a false sense of superiority and invincibility! Then finally he failed to heed to Achebe's proverbial advice that: "A man does not challenge his Chi to a wrestling match," by taking on Seun the site owner, subtly and then full-frontal. This is the true story of Jarus' reign. The story of a humble technocrat who became Abacha! A story other 'good' MODs will do well to learn. But why this warped fate befalls 'good' MODs is a story for another thread! |
tpia@:If pushing Igbo's interest placates Igbos and make money for Seun, what exactly is wrong with that? As per the another civil war, na you wan start am? My dear, you have changed negatively lately, and it not very good for you. Retrace your steps back to the good girl you used to be. Fanning embers on ethic bigotry is not ideally suited for you. Besides that is a new year, didn't you make certain resolution? |
ilugunboy: I hope he will have the courage to discipline people like you when (not if) you ran foul of the rules ...I suppose that mean banning me for asking hard questions, right? Just get over yourself guy, you seem too fixated with me. |
