And in looking at the big picture. I can say Ogugua's emergence has caused many Igbo pay more attention to our political activities on Nairaland. Such interest is necessary in the reforms that are planned. Again, the focus is on the big picture. And I still think the position of Eze Nwayi is still desirable, perhaps next time some of you ladies here will step up to the challenge, when called upon. |
berem: abeg help me tell am o! Someone that didn't show up during the election is now coming to tell us how to run tradition.Like I said earlier we are looking into. In any case, our major concern is strengthening the Electoral Law through reforms, and establishing Code of Conduct for our Elected Officials. I can assure you stake holders are coming up with such ideas. Paying too much attention to an individual defeat the goal of collective aspiration. Focus should be on the larger picture. |
@op 1. Wrong thread 2. No loci standi At all, issues raised are being addressed. By the Op, You are a very interesting character yourself. advocate666: O great and Almighty Lucifer, I pledge my life to you. |
brokoto: this thread is a microcosm of the macrocosm that is the igbo nation. 'nuff said!Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps you should tell us any other 'nation' that have even managed to reach an understanding to conduct themselves in group - online. Then we can compare notes. |
Noiseless2: @Pointb, our dear honorable electoral commissioner. I wish to use this opportunity and call to your attention regarding the comment whichMy brother Noiseless As a matter of fact I have been inundated with a lot of complaint about our Eze Nwayi elect - Ogugua. I have always maintained that I won't hold brief for her as she is capable of handling herself. That said, Ogugua was elected in a 'free and fair' election by majority Igbo voters, who in my estimation approves of what she does or represent. Furthermore, there was not petition against her during the nomination, and things went smoothly from there until the election. Do I agree with everything she says - my candid answer is NO. Did she insult Igbo groups, state or institutions? The answer here is another - NO. Incidentally the rule governing the election did not rule out pro-Nigerian Igbo (something I believe is the core of the issues raised against her). I will like to appeal to our Eze Nwayi elect to carefully study and understand the people she was elected to 'serve' and apply wisdom and diplomacy in handling 'hot' Igbo issue. Again I insist not all Igbos are pro-Biafran, and not all are pro-Nigeria. A leader's understanding the basic characteristic of his/her people will guide him/her in the effective discharge of her duty. It is on this note that I advise the Eze Nwayi elect to thread carefully on thorny issues. The essence of the Eze Nwayi is to help in fostering unity among Igbos on Nairaland. I personally don't see how this can be done if leaders choose to take sides against his/her people in divisive topics, when neutrality will serve best. Eze and Eze Nwayi position is a specific call to serve Ndi Igbo, first and foremost. Then again, I would also like to say that Ogugua appears very passionate and energetic. And I think she has a lot to offer Igbo in her tenure as Eze Nwayi. Perhaps providence has bestowed her upon us at this point in time, so I say let's give her a chance. Let's bury the hatchet, and help her to serve us. Let's rally around and protect her, and help her serve us. But if my appeal fail to sway us, I will still suggest we desist from opening flanks on every thread to call her out. Those who really want us to revisit the election of Eze Nwayi should use of the election thread to make their appeal. There are three very capable and principled members of the tribunal who can decide on this matter before the inauguration. In the end what should be paramount is the ideals unity of Ndi Igbo on Nairaland, and we cannot achieve that by tearing ourselves or leaders in pieces. |
ndu_chucks: What middleground are you looking for olodo? Your people shamelessly ganged up on a lady because of her independence of thought and you are looking for middle ground? That's the typical response to be expected of a chauvinist. You are a typical half-bred fulani man whose stock in trade is fanning embers of division - divide and rule. It is those who don't know you that will be carried away by your duplicity. You are a bloody hypocrite, and anyone who pays attention to your drivel in the hope of gaining anything useful is wasting his time. Go and look for some cattle to herd, or stick you tiny winny into the closest one to drive home your fulani chauvinism. |
spyder880: Brother Odenigbo, we are one and the same people and any good news about any Igbo state/city will gladden my heart anyday. I have urged my Anambra brothers to open threads to promote our sister state. I have also opened threads to promote Onitsha and Owerri, but as you know, I live in Enugu and only business takes me to other eastern states.Again I agree with you spyder. Today we have seen the beauty of Enugu and agreed enthusiastically that it is indeed the Pride of the East. This does not in anyway diminish the value of any other SE State. A well structure exposition of any Igbo centric zone can assume any beautiful title they want for their showcase, and get similar response. In the end Igboland is Igboland, and we are one and the same. So my brother Odenigbo , I love Spyders work of Enugu, and I agreed with the title. I respect the industry of and tenacity of my Anambra brothers. My Imo and Abia brothers I hold close to my chest, across the Niger in Anioma is homeland to me. Ebonyi are people are my flesh and blood. I love my folks in Rivers, and Ikwerre's tongue is Igbo to me whether admitted by them or not. The success of any is a source of joy to all. There is no need to belabor the title. Let's assume the best title ever we can think of any great exposition of our state. Again well done Spyder! |
OYINBOGOJU: We can as well recommend the 2 and let's go to vote.Since Afam is the current Chairman, I have assumed the position of his Deputy, Berem is the Secretary, and Okija Assistant Secretary. That gives us three votes to your and Okija's two. So you see, we are in the majority! "Justice and Equity" it is then. I wonder why you panic at the mention of those two words. |
And those who think GEJ will show Allison the door, are simply hallucinating. ![]() Which country, whose resources? |
Ribadu's inability to follow through due process, and show purposeful leadership in a simple assignment is the reason for his bungling the report. All blame and responsibility for whatever happen the report should rest squarely on his shoulder! |
OYINBOGOJU: I think we need more strenght to get Justice........ Since this movement consist of people from different ethnic I think we can stick with okija suggestion. No way. We don't want a party build on the Pyrrhic Unity and Diversity like our god forsaken country Nigeria. We must go from the onset on Justice and Equity. Our diversity, and our strength has only aid corruption and nepotism. So I disagree with the nonsense diversity and strength motto. I strongly insist on Justice, and Equity! |
geeez: Who gives a flying hoot what party you stick your dirty thumbs to?Of course I wasn't addressing those with oil soup infested brain. So I couldn't care if they give a hoot or not. And whether Asiwaju Party of Nigeria (ACN) is a tribal party or Tinubu party is not the business. My message or appeal is direct at a specific catchment area. How you manage to catch a cold is a mystery to. And because you said didn't give a hoot, let my repeat my message to those who care, perhaps in a better way: MY FELLOW IGBOS LET US PLEASE THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE WE VOTE FOR ANYTHING ACN IN 2015, ESPECIALLY IN LAGOS. CAST YOUR VOTE WITH DEEP SENSE OF THE FUTURE! I PERSONALLY WILL AVOID ACN THE WAY A LEPER IS AVOIDED! |
How about 'Justice and Equity'? |
ndu_chucks: The typical male chauvinism of Africans, in this case, those of the Igbo extraction, is preventing you people from accepting that there exists a babe amongst you, Ogugua88, who is your Eze elect and is also a babe who is more intelligent than you many of you boys. You "males" display a disgraceful effeminate emotionalism typically expected from teenage gals. dolosMy friend sharrap. No one needs your hypocritical inanity in this place, aboki. Rather than find a middle ground you prefer to place one above the other. The same frailty you accuse others of. I wonder why some of this half-bred fulanis will not allow Igbos to sort out this issues their own way. |
Anyway, without much ado, I just don't see how this will work. Political party and even pressure group are formed with people with same ideology. Nairaland is to big, to diverse and too complex to forge a single ideology from. I would like to see how Afam pulls this one through. |
Okija_juju: Just kidding o!! lol..lol, Rough tackle a Chairman of a Political Block like Nairaland? I guess you are er, er - just kidding! ![]() |
Okija_juju: I couldnt agree more..You forced a big grin on my face with my name there. Anyway PointB the Electoral Commissioner is different from PointB the private Nairalander. And as per this budding MPM, I'm gunning for position of Chairman. ![]() |
Subscribing ... |
acidtalk: But you are aware the Nigerian government won't just sit without a big fight if the Biafrans insist on leaving? And which Nigeria government will put up a fight is Igbos move to leave this accursed union? The only reason Igbos are still part of Nigeria is because we elect to be part due to our ubiquitous and adaptable nature. The day we finally decides to leave this inanity called Nigeria, that day you will realize that judging 2012 with the tunnel vision on 1967 is plain folly. No one will fight to keep a determined ethnic group in this union. That is a fact! |
PointB: IGBOS SHOULD NOT VOTE ACN IN 2015. I CAN'T SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH! |
Again!! PointB: IGBOS SHOULD NOT VOTE ACN IN 2015. I CAN'T SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH! |
ilugunboy: And who the hell are you to determine who a whole set of people should vote for?Says an ant to an Antelope! Question is, does the Antelope worry about the ant's rants? |
IGBOS SHOULD NOT VOTE ACN IN 2015. I CAN'T SAY THIS LOUD ENOUGH! |
9ja_I_hail: Lolzz you wicked ooo. anyway he/she is not making any sense better free him/her before you reduce yourself to his/her level.lol I am tired of these irritants, that simply poke their nose everywhere with inanity. That was my last response to him btw. |
eldoradoxx: El rufai may be saying the truth! Perhaps the government has decided to start eliminating suspected sponsors of boko haram! Who said that Shuwa was innocent!I hope they extend such generosity to their self appointed spokesman. |
Omen100: Yes Dude, it has everything to do with igbo people because of their misplaced priorities, if this was to be the other way round, I know, all you hippo's won't have allowed Seun d C.E.O to know peace, hypocrites. Then better quickly grab a sachet of rat poison like one of your progenitors, cos this wont be the last time you will hear from/of us. |
Omen100: igbo people selfWhat has Igbo people got to do with this. Quit your bigotry, else it will lead you to early grave. Olodo! |
eGuerrilla: @PointB, for being voice the reason, I am sending across these yam tubers via DHLThose yams looks so real, I could almost touch them. Thanks man. Meanwhile, er, er , how about live fouls to accompany the yams? ![]() |
tchidi: *Intercepting the yam tubers*Lol, Intercepting yams in my personal barn, guarded by Aluu villagers? I wouldn't try it. ![]() |
@Op, I think we have discussed this issue in detail. No all Igbos want Biafra, and not all Igbos want Nigeria. And it doesn't make anyone more or less Igbo. End of Story! Please let Ogugua be. She is Eze Nwayi elect! |
Oshiomole is my kind of guy. If the law say he must die, and his guilt proven beyond every reasonable doubt, then the law must take it's full course. I am with Oshiomole on this. |
As said earlier in a previous page. This is that path to Biafra Realization - Arrest and Detention. I have a dream: Where every Biafran - man and woman, children and aged, millions of them - will done Biafran marked T-Shirt with special inscription: "I AM BIAFRAN, PLEASE ARREST ME" and subsequently surrenders themselves to the nearest police station in the hundreds, and thousands, in full glare of viewing world. I have a dream! |
