OAM4J:
Oh ye my friend, Point the son of B

Times and seasons hath past, yet have I not heard from thy parables.

My heart is glad to read of your parables one again, Point the son of B.

Conclude not yet on Tifni, son of Nubu

For a day they said is too long in the land of politics.

Tomorow is pregnant, and only the most high knows what the birth shall be of.

I great you warmly my friend, Point the son of B.
Great Oam son of Forj
May you live long and suck the milk of the land
The scribe only but retreated to fill his ink
And empty its content upon a big scroll
Testament of his journey about the globe
You shall find it, if thou but seek.

Let it be made known to thou this day
The scribe has not written the end the great Tifni son of Nubu
The scribe sees the scribe writes; but the end is not written yet.
For the scribe knows not how it shall end
Lo, examine the scrolls and see for thyself.

And the King, replied.

It is inferiority complex to want to revert to a tribal clan every time you find yourselves in general/public space.

I am not bitter about your insecurities, rather, I am highlighting your insecurities.

I hope you don't have Eze Ndigbo of your office? Eze Ndigbo of Nigerian Breweries PLC? Eze Ndigbo of Cadbury Nigeria PLC? Eze Ndigbo of First Bank?

If you still do not get my drift, don't try harder.
Sorry bruv,
I can't see beyond your pain, anger and bitterness, no matter how hard you tried to mask it.

Try harder.

Throwback:
Why don't you have Eze Ndigbo of Twitter?

While the British also have the British King/Queen of Facebook?

Your problem as evident in the Eze Ndigbo rubbish you were doing on Nairaland, is symbolic of your inability to exist in a multicultural space without attempting to segregate into a clan and imbibe a herd mentality. A typical sign of insecurity.

This is an online forum with individual opinions and perspectives. While passions might sway ethnically during debates that are so centered, you already had an ethnic grouping with an ethnic agenda in a national dialogue.
Why are you pained because people choose (by themselves) to do things differently from you? Isn't it inferiority complex that you ask that we behave like the British or anyone else for that matter?

How does having Eze Ndi Igbo online, in the full glare of every prying eyes amount to segregation. And if we choose to isolate ourselves, how does that affect you? Why are you so pained and bitter?

So who is the current Eze?
Yes the owner of Nairaland, and the MODs were very supportive of what we did then. If today we decided to continue from where we left off, we are sure of their support as usual. They are not bigoted as many of you these day. We didn't break the rules or the law.

And we had at least 3 Eze Ndi Igbo of Nairaland while it lasted. And their reigns were peaceful and progressive. The last of them was the indefatigable OnlyTruth. Many of the legends who worked in his Ime Obi still walk among us this day.

Today, as before, we are all Ezes and we are not Ezes.

Peace.

Better late than never...

Give up thy Lands
And Fem, son of Ashina, who also speaks for King Bubu, son of Hari, arose and walked slowly to the city square. His plump mass seemed to have added more weight. Many said he had fed fat on the falsehoods he dishes. Then he climbed labouriously atop the nearest platform. And he rang his bell seven times so that the people will gather and listen to what he had to say. Then he addressed the people saying, “Thus says King Bubu, father of all and protector of the kingdom, ‘Give up thy lands and water to the Hilani herdsmen for cattle herding, so that the wandering herdsmen may wander no more, nor kill anyone. For what does it profit a man, if he keeps his land and loses his life?’

Now the house - Alliance of Parties, also known by their initial - AOP, was the most deceitful house in the land and several crooked men swell in their ranks. Their banner had an insignia of two arrows, each pointing in the opposite directions. The party elders said it meant they listened with both ears. But the people said, it was a symbol of their confusion, lies and blame game. “Lo, House Alliance of Parties are confused lots. They know not what they say or where they are headed. And their fingers point at everyone but themselves.”

And the people also called them Alliance of Parrots. “They talk more than they act,” they justified.
And many who stole from and deserted the House Patriots of Basket found succour in their midst. It was often said of the Alliance of Parties, “If any thief joins the Alliance of Parties, he becomes a new creature where old things passes away and all things become new.[/url]

Olominira:
I don't know if this advice would be useful for you. The idea of breaking Nigeria would not solve any problem we are facing as a nation. You pointed your reasons, are there not criminals in the SE who are locals? The problem facing the country is largely weak institutions which is common among all developing nations globally.

The people of SE should be the last set of Nigerians who should be calling for division for two main reasons. One, they tend to unit the Nigerian people more, by traveling and doing business with everyone easily. Also they settle in those communities without any issue.

Two, the SE region tend to be poorest region among the six geopolitical regions in Nigeria by 2040, either the region remains in Nigeria or not. It's not because of lack of access to the Atlantic. The main factor highlighting this is based on the land mass and the population.

It would require a lifetime fortunes to acquire land for commercial activities from 2030. The cheapest cost of land would be available between now and end of the decade. This would make the region to rely on her neighbours for food, basic manufacturing and products due to production costs.

Kanu and all calling for breaking down of Nigeria do not know much, rather very myopic and unintelligent. It's easier to be successful in bigger nations than smaller ones. I also find those calling on other tribes not to migrate to their regions as myopic. Naturally, people migrating to your region become part of you after three generations either by culture, marriage or number.

IPOB is a mere distraction which has caused young people who are supposed to focus on personal development and goals to be pursuing unproductive cause. It's a pity. Nigeria has large number of her leaders focusing on tribal politics and religion instead of collective national interests and goals. I've lived among people of different colours for many years same with several other Nigerians without issues. How much more people of my colour?

Akiko n'egwu, nobody is giving anyone any referendum and you and I know that, only a change in the constitution can guarantee that.
Well, they should get to work and change the constitution.

Nigeria image has taken a battering for a long while and it's still being battered. It can do without IPOB's alleged #85k worth of monthly systematic onslaught. The damage IPOB is doing to brand Nigeria may become irreversible and even erode Nigeria's soft power in the international fora. Nigeria may not even recover from it or even defeat the ideology.

So best strategy is for Nigeria to deploy multi-facet approach to deal with the issues at it roots or die from a thousand cuts.

- Negotiation
- Restructuring
- Referendum
- Confederation
- Division, etc are all possible tools in the box to use.

Folding arms and wishing it away will not solve the problem. This is beyond IPOB. It's a 53 year old problem, just brought to fore by combination of ineffective and myopic administration, and frustrated and desperate citizens.

I understand your pain, then why do you have governors and senators if they can't fight for your rights? Nigeria is survival of the fittest, many projects in West, South South and North are done by deals, people in those region put their people first, they will rather collect project for their region instead of money, Igbos leaders are lacking in this aspect, and another thing is igbos don't want Nigeria to help them, they will shout leave us alone and they will still shout you're abandoning us, still there are sane ways you can use to register your complaint through your legal representatives like governors and senators
They are the one siphoning money meant of development and will rather collect money than projects
You're right we have governors and senators who should be fighting for our right. However, right from time, an average Igboman is used to fighting for his right as republicans. The senators/governors are there, per the laws of the Nigeria, but that doesn't stop me, and every other Igboman from voicing his concern in ways possible.

If the Nigerian system doesn't like the way the average Igboman is fighting for their rights, let them hold our representatives accountable, that may sound counter intuitive. As for me, I have my voice, and I won't wait for Uzodinma, Ikpeazu, or Omahi before I used them. It puts them, and everyone else under pressure. Look at the way the presidency is fretting because of IPOB, just imagine if every Igboman started generating similar( 'noise' as IPOB is doing?

Regardless, my comment on this this matter stands cause it was Tinubu's selfish scheme that created the marginalisation Yoruba elders alluded to here.

The taskforce is successful? Are you living in PH? The so called task force consist of OSPAC, COmmunity thugs and Party loyalist who are going around assulting people with the protection of police. If they are doing the right thing why do they need police protection in the first place? These are people goin around with machetes and other weapons creating fear in the people's mind... Have you ever heard or see the health professionals give any media briefing on the activities of the task force in Rivers State?... Its a pity we politizie this issue and all blame to PDP and Wike.
Success is different from method.

Success is measured by the number of cases a cosmopolitan state like River has vis-a-vis other similar states like Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Kaduna. Now I don't support thuggery or violence and other sort of criminality in the name of enforcing restrictions. But do you think such behaviour will abate or increase in the absence of the Police?

Is Rivers State the only state with Covid-19 task force that they must move around with police escort? Even common illegal motor packing and street trading are going around with police escorts and assaulting the masses... Wike and PDP should stop politicising everything.
I don't know how other states are operating. But I do know there have been mixed results and River State Covid Task Force is largely successful in managing the infection rates in the State. If teh Police Escorts contribute in this success why tamper with a winning combo just so you can show you have the power to.

I don't support Wike demolishing of the Hotel, and several of his brusque methods and I believe the FG has other method of resolving this things. Maybe even a Phone Call from the President may suffice. But experimenting with winning combo only put lives at risks and could hamper the overall efforts to curb the virus spread.
PoliticsRe: PDP Demands Restoration Of Police To Rivers Task Force by PointB: 7:50am On May 13, 2020

When Wike called out DCP Mohammed that he is collecting money and issuing movement pass to all and sundry and he is sabotaging the state government works. Same Wike said the police are the ones collecting bribe to allow people enter the state.
Same Wike said he is taking the FG to court for taking money to find Police from the FAAC account.
If Wike makes allegation of bribery against the Police, such allegation should be investigated and those found culpable should be arrested. If Wike is found to have made false allegation, I'm sure there a provisions for dealing with such.

But withdrawing Police from Covid-19 Task Force is not only endangers the Task Force and Rivers Citizens, but it does endanger every Nigerian. It's far worse barbaric than Wike demolition of hotels.

Wike will now have to rush through a legislation to authorise another agency to take over the duties of protecting the Covid-19 Task Force. That's if River State doesn't have some sort of 'Vigilante' Corps. Surely he won't allow the FG to undermine his agenda to protect River State people.
PoliticsRe: The Real Reason Why Governor Wike Demolished Eleme Hotel - Rivers Lawmaker by PointB:
It is still not enough justification to demolish the Hotel.

How do we even know the Government is not lying? Was the man tried in court? Is there no law protecting government officials from harrassment and assault? Which court tried the suspect and gave Wike the go-ahead to demolish the hotel?

Yes, no hotel is as important as one life. Yet if the owner of the hotel had gunned down 10 people, it will still be wrong to shoot him or destroy his property without resort to a court trial.

Jungle justice is no justice.

Wike is wrong.

@Op,

From where I stand, IPOB has done enough sensitization to the Igbos outside of SE. And of course these people are as Igbo as any other Igbo anywhere in Nigeria despite denials.
But for the sake of her objective, and greater good, IPOB should move on without unnecessarily waiting to carry everyone along. You can never get everyone on board, even in the SE.

Remember HARDHOME in Game of Thrones. When the walkers came, everyone tried to get on board the ship. IPOB should stop already with the John Snow (messiah) complex and move on with those in the boat.

This is Sun Tzu writing about the danger of engaging in a very long struggle like Biafra agitation. I hope Biafra planners get something from it. So that they'll understand where those oppose to their method are coming from.

When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men's weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be damped. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength. Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain.
Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue.
Thus, though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.
There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare. It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on.
PoliticsRe: Urgent Message To Igbos On Nairaland by PointB: 8:28am On May 11, 2020
Biafrannuke:
Pls this is an urgent message to Igbo's and pro-Biafrans. There are some characters who have been going around on nairaland disgracing the Igbo race lately. They claim they do not want Ipob decision to include non Igbo's into Biafra. As a result, they jump from thread to thread insulting Igbos who support Biafra, insult non Igbos who support Biafra, join Igbo haters and Biafra haters to insult Igbos and Ipob members despite the fact that these characters cannot command respect in their own families. I want to make it clear that these characters are not even pro-Biafrans at all because they do the same thing Biafran haters and Igbo haters do. Pls here are reasons why you should start ignoring their threads.

They claim IPOB bring insult to Igbos but they are the ones who have insulted the Igbo race the most by joining Hausas and Yoruba mock the aspirations of the Biafran people.

They claim Ipob goes to every thread that concerns the minority but this is not true. Rather the reverse is the case where the likes of juliusmalema, Pazienza, amarabae jump into every thread that concerns Igbos in Rivers and Delta unprovoked and begin to say nasty things, insult themselves, insult the people of those states and in the end bring insult to other Igbos.

They claim they hate Igbos being insulted by the minority groups in the East but like it and go dumb when the likes of ohaneze insult igbos by saying some Igbos are responsible for the Fulani killings in the East.

They claim they are Igbo nationalists but specialize in insulting Igbos in Rivers and Delta states. One wonders what these characters regard as "Igbo nationalism". one wonders who they are working for. Does a nationalist divide an ethnic nationality or unify them? Irish nationalists fight to unify Irish people on Both UK and Irish republic in one Irish state, Korean nationalists want a united Korea. This is what nationalists do. They are unifiers and irredentists. They go the extent of fighting wars to bring their kit and kind together in one country. But some self proclaimed " Igbo nationalists " insult Igbos in other states, believe in fighting for a country where some Igbos will be in one country and some will be in another country. Isn't that comedy taken too far?

They claim they have the interest of Igbos at heart but most of those who like their posts and comment favourably on them are non Igbos, Igbo haters and Biafran haters from other regions.

They claim they want freedom of Igbos but play spoilers to freedom fighting that involves the liberation of Biafra which Igbos are part of.

They claim the minorities in the East hate Biafra and insult Igbos but when they encounter pro-Biafran minorities they insult them and sometimes go out of their way to call them impostors.

These characters claim they want Biafra but hate insult. Have you ever seen a freedom fighter who is afraid of being insulted? Eji maka mgbagbu aghara ogu? Moses in the Bible grew up in an Egyptian palace. He did everything to show the Hebrew people that he loved and wanted to save them, but they always paid him back with hate. The case where he separated two Fighting Hebrews and was greeted with disdain was an example. He even had to show them signs from God to prove he was sent by God but they kept insulting him and God in the wilderness until God intervened and punished the recalcitrant Hebrews. In the end they reached the promised land. Insult and sabotage are always expected in every struggle.

These characters who insult Igbos daily thinking enemies lwill ove them must now begin to receive "silent treatment" from the Igbos. Igbos and freedom lovers should stop giving them the attention they crave. stop commenting on their Biafra hating threads. Let people know they are alone. We are bigger than giving attention to rabble rousers and attention seekers. pls we did it to one character like bacarnista today, he is irrelevant. There are There are Biafrans who do not agree perfectly to Ipob method but just have to keep quiet aince freesom is the most important goal at this moment. After all, no one is perfect. Anybody who disagrees with ipob should contact them. if they reject your proposal then you float your own movement if you are confident that your ideas are reasonable.

We must be able to separate the wheat from the chaff and continue. let us keep hopes alive. Faith suffers no defeat. WE WILL WIN in the end.

God bless you all. Have a nice day and stay safe.
IPOB and some of those people you mentioned bring insult to the greater Igbo. Both don't seem to know how best to promote their interest.
