Oristejafor is right here. Bamanga Tukur is indeed a spokesman for Boko Haram, or how else can one describe the fellow who claim that murderers of simple and innocent Christians worshippers and other innocent civilians, are fighting for justice? Is the right to kill another due to religious difference enshrined in the constitution. Christians should bear arms to defend themselves in the North. That's the logical next step. |
Looks like these PDP guys are just as confused as their CPC and ACN counterparts! Why should Christians ignore their own leaders because of your say so? |
He did not take kindly to the commentLamido is very correct! |
I wonder how any rational person will choose a mass murderer and terrorist over a common thief. Ibori all the way jor. Heard the guy even spread the loot to some British cops, that gives hope in a strange kind of way. Better stolen wealth, than sudden death. This thread should be on the front page. Mods please do your thing! |
Who are the thieves? The Northern elites who stole several oil blocks from Niger Delta after the civil war, or the little man who bunkers oil in the dead of the night? By the way, why is this oil theft the greatest threat to our sovereignty? On what scale did they put Boko Haram activities sponsored (financially and spiritually) by Northern elements like Buhari and co? In any case, I only hope that this time around Niger Deltans are the ones 'stealing' their own oil! |
Senator Ken Nnamani is a very respected leader in Nigeria political sphere. As a matter of fact, the decisiveness and the exceptional leadership he exhibited in killing the inglorious third term bid of Obj, endeared him to Nigerians of all ethnic groups, whose last hope of stopping Obj laid at his uncompromising leadership. Nnamani is a bridge builder, and a very mature politician. Perhaps it is in keeping with his astute politics of cooling off heated polity, that he lent his voice and some of his political capital in 'interpreting' what the less gracious and perhaps political immature Buhari thoughtlessly spew forth. Buhari meant every word he said about 'dogs and baboons' getting soaked in blood. Nnamani is simply calling his bluff, as he (Nnamani) does not believe a sensible leader would make such tasteless comment especially in the misdt of carnages caused by similar recklessness (he is clearly obvious of the fact that Buhari is a senseless, violent ex-soldier), and unlike most of us, he is hoping that that Buhari will regain his senses. Let's hope Nnamani's optimism is not misplaced. |
A very straight to the point article laying bare the tactless general's lack of finesse and foresight. Indeed this dog and baboon general is in for perpetual defeat if he continues with his myopic political calculation that emphasises shedding of innocent blood. Soon the blood of the innocent corpers, who were felled by his unguarded utterances, will come looking for vengeance. Slow painful end awaits the blood stained wicked soul. |
I laugh at the myopic/selfish calculation that shamelessly seeks to enthrone mediocrity over competence in the name of appeasement. More so, when this position is coming from those whose daily criticism of the incumbent as mediocre, and incompetent has become a matter of personal devotion. Stranger yet, that these proponents have failed to see the hypocrisy of their volte-face! Perhaps, such hypocrisy, is urged on by the greater bigoted plan to position their tribesman for potential presidency when the 'mediocre, but popular' core northern politician mandate runs it's full course! These arm-chair cyber political analysts were the same who predicted Buhari/Bakare's victory in the last poll despite the overwhelming odds, and popular sentiments against the duo. Today, unable to learn from the previous experience, they are rooting for another mediocre (hausa/fulani man) to lord it over the competent, despite the general feeling that core north will take the back burner for a while. In case these fellows don't feel pulse of the people, let me remind them - in 2015, power will remain in the SE/SS block, or go to the middle belt. And to the name dropper, perhaps Nnamani, Soludo (who in your opinion are the SE power broker/leaders) should enthrone your 'popular nothernern politician.' In any case, 2015 is three years away, enough time for any permutation to be confronted with rude reality! And when 2015 comes, WE know exactly what to do, and how to achieve whatever we set to achieve! In the mean time, keep rambling, and keep yearning for an Atiku over a Rochas, Duke, Fashola, and co. We are enjoying this O-rambling! ![]() |
This is great news. Kudos to the Government and people of Anambra state for seeing the project to this stage. Counting down to commissioning. ![]() |
bashr8: ezeuche thanks for this, its about time.Again, I am not ezeuche, You are welcome nonetheless. |
Herdsmen kill 10 in Benue From Joseph Wantu (Makurdi) TEN persons have been feared killed by Fulani herdsmen in a three-hour invasion of Tyoughatee District in Gwer-West Local Council of Benue State. advertisement The incident, which occurred last Saturday, has thrown the area into mourning. The marauders also inflicted gunshot wounds on several of the villagers and burnt 50 houses. The Ter Nagi, Chief Daniel Abomtse, who narrated the ordeal his people to journalists in Makurdi yesterday, decried the incessant attacks on his subjects by the herdsmen. He accused the Federal and state governments of paying lip-service to the security of lives and property of his people. The monarch, who alleged he had privileged information on the attack before it happened, claimed that he relayed same to the state government and security agencies on May 15, 2012 and wondered why nothing was done to prevent the attack. "Information had it that the Fulani herdsmen intend to invade Gwer-West from the Obendo, Ijiwo axis through Akpanaja in Nasarawa State into Tyoughatee and Gbaange/Tongov District of Gwer-West Local Council at a location between Mbaku communities in Makurdi and invade the whole of the district, which stretches 16 km of Makurdi-Naka Road and then advance to Naka town, headquarters of Gwer-West. They also planned to attack and burn my palace with explosives and sophisticated weapons," he had stated in the letter to the government. Abomtse said the violence occurred late last Saturday when the herdsmen attacked Tyoughatee Village for three hours and killed 10 persons. He expressed shock at the sophistication of weapons and the military tactics employed by the marauders and accused his colleagues in the neighboring local councils in Nasarawa State as accomplices in the killings The Guardian learnt that about 75 persons had been murdered by the herdsmen since 2011 in four attacks. Meanwhile, the recent communal clashes, which claimed 25 lives in Lamurde Local Council of Adamawa State, has led to the displacement of 6, 000 residents. The North-East Zonal Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Muhammad Kanar, disclosed this yesterday to journalists in Maiduguri, Borno State. He said: "As preparations for resettling these internally-displaced persons is in progress, the damage to lives and property is enormous and could run into millions of naira." http://odili.net/news/source/2012/may/22/12.html |
Constitution: South-East, South-South ready for amendment by Ozioma Ubabukoh The National Assembly has commenced moves for amendments to the constitution. OZIOMA UBABUKOH examines the partnership between the South-South and the South-East ahead of the process L-R: Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke and Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan advertisement Professionals from different parts of the country are already gearing up for the South-East/South-South Development Forum. But there is a question: Would this proposed forum not go the way of similar ones before it, that is, with little or no success to help in the development of the two zones concerned? The question about preparation for the forum was borne out of the fact that should it fail or its recommendations not implemented, it would perhaps further compound the travails of the South-East and South-South zones. Should it succeed and its implementation carried out at almost 100 per cent, then the two regions would be on a course of political and economic transformation. Considering the opinions of leaders from the region, THE PUNCH gathered that there were no doubt that they, Ndigbo in particular, would cash in on the anticipated gains of the forum to actualise their aim to assume the presidency by 2015 and the expansion of their economic fortunes and maybe that of the country. For the Niger Delta leaders, they seem to be working on improving upon the gains of the recently concluded South-South Economic Summit in Asaba, Delta State. One of the facilitators of the forthcoming forum and President of South-East/South-South Professionals, Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, gave his assurance on the preparation. For Ugwu-Oju, no stone would be left unturned in ensuring that the event holds. To him, the forum is handy for the economy of the South-East zone to be revived. "We have spoken with the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and she has assured us of her corporation and assistance and we are already putting every step in the right direction to ensure it goes beyond our expected success," he noted. He said, "All that we are doing now is to ensure that by the time the development forum holds, it would be action-based. There wouldn't be too much of talking. We would go into specifics that would fast-track the development of the region. "For fast economic growth, you must have solid political institutions, and how many of such political institutions do we have in place. And if we don't, how do we go about it." He asked, "Must we have six federating units and not the 36 states structure in place now? What are the incentives necessary for economic growth? These are the issues that would be at the front burner at the development forum." He said, "How people choose their representatives matter; this is another issue that we would discuss. We need to put in place the right political institution at the forum because we don't have the right political institution that can guarantee that kind of economic growth." But based on previous experience, there are already mounting insinuations that the South/East South /South alliance or partnership at fostering development for both regions would not work. The absence of South-East leaders from such a summit in the past is also another major concern among political pundits. In responding to the above issues, Ugwu-Oju said, "We had a retreat, and as professionals, we analysed issues. Even though you have your own interest, you will ask yourself if you can achieve your goals all alone. Alternatively, do you have to be together? So after the analysis, everybody saw it is better for both zones to pursue their common interests together." He said, "We came to the conclusion that it is mutually better for both zones to be together than to be apart. It will be easier for South-South to get some of the things we mentioned if they are together with the Igbos. "It is good for the Igbos to also get those things if their South -South brothers are with them. We saw how beneficial it was during the President Goodluck Jonathan's campaign. The driving force of the unity showed by both zones together with the support of South-West and Middle Belt coming along helped in getting Jonathan into Aso Rock. We the professionals have realised that we need each other for the two zones to get what they want in Nigeria." He also said, "Since this realisation is now on the cards, there is already a yearning desire by every Igbo leader of thought to attend the forum and contribute positively to our development." Just before the preparation of the development forum comes to the peak, Ugwu-Oju and his counterparts have started to canvass against certain policies that could affect the projected gains of the forum. According to them, if these policies are administered rightly and not the wrong way, "we (people from the South-South and South-East) would reap from the gains of the development forum in all ramifications, politically, economically and otherwise." First, they are saying that the proposed Central Bank of Nigeria Amendment Act should not be encouraged. "We are going to engage the National Assembly with statistics and figures of what happens in the Central Bank of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, South-Africa, Ghana and the Reserve Bank of the United States of America, and in other places. And by the time we are done, the lawmakers would definitely see reason not to forge on with the CBN Amendment Act," Ugwu-Oju said. On the subsidy report, the president of the South-East/South-South Professionals said, "We think the way the oil subsidy is being administered is not good for the economy. We are canvassing now, and we would do the same later at the forum, that oil subsidy has to be administered in the right way." And on the recent comments from former Head of State, General Mohammed Buhari (Retd.), he said, "It is easy to destroy but difficult to build. It would be much better if all of us focused on building our nation rather than destroying through words of the mouth." All said and done, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo group thinks the discourse of regionalisation should top the front burner at the development forum. A former Ohanaeze youth leader, Mr. Bismack Oji, who spoke to our correspondent, was of the view that only the subject matter of regionalisation can position the regions for the development they seek for. He said, "Today, Ebonyi State contributes less than 0.01 per cent of the national GDP. However, with her abundant mineral resources such as limestone, zinc, lead, salt, etc she ought to be an industrial powerhouse." Furthermore, Oji said, "Ebonyi State's under utilised agricultural resources are enough to feed the entire South-East region and have enough to export, if properly harnessed. Nigercem Cement Company, Nkalagu is presently a shadow of itself, owing to issues arising from its privatisation by the Federal Government." The Ohanaeze leader asked, "Why should the Federal Government decide who should be the core investor in an industry located in Ebonyi State, against the wishes of the State Government?" He said, "In true federalism, that is an aberration since each state or federating unit is supposed to be control of her own resources and from thence contribute to the centre, not the other way round." He stated that Imo and Abia states are both oil-producing states. "However, it is a fact that if they were not burdened with undue interference from the centre in the management of their resources, their oil industries would have been much more advanced, thereby triggering all round development in both states," Oji added. |
Sweetlemon: for your mind, you don reply me ba? lol! It is not fear that make me want a one Nigeria, it is love! The bolded is becoming rather silly. Now give me the list of Igbo Governors who are currently looting? And while you are it, state the amount they have stolen and the foreign countries they have stashed it. Otherwise, regurgitating old and overused cliches to support your illogical argument born out of fear is just as fraudulent and disingenuous as you accused the Igbo governors! And if you don't understand my post ask for clarification, Igbo don't want war with anybody, and we don't need your oil (oils you have relinquished tamely to abokis btw) as we have ours in abundance! But if and when I have to make my last stand, I will be on the Biafran side! Simple! Nigeria is a sh!thole, only the fearful and visionless will hold tight to her! Soon they will sink with her. One more thing, what is wrong in calling for a referendum? Are you fearful of the result? |
We know clearly who the Dogsare by their blood letting, now may the real baboons please stand up. Core North courts S'West! It has to be! ![]() |
ballabriggs: Pfffffffff! Would they stay in their tiny erosion laden land? Have they finished selling their stock of fake drugs in other parts of the country? These are people who can't live in their lands yet they say they want Biafra. They love to migrate to make money but don't want to accept that people could be different from others. That one done pass wanting to eat your cake and having it. This one is eating your cake and beating up the next man for his. Greedy people!Perhaps you should reach for a bottle of rat poison! |
Sweetlemon: If we stay together without doing anything to make progress it's wahala,Is that not what you and other advocates of one Nigeria at all cost want - peace of the graveyard! Unless perhaps, your derive some sadistic pleasures watching Nigeria butcher your people for no just cause - the real benefits of one nigeria. if we part ways it will be by a bloody war that you might not even surviveI do not agree with this statement. Bloody separation is the fear and myopia sold to you by the Northern elites, who have enslaved your mind, and impaired your ability to think out the box. What you should be championing is "Referendum". Don't you want to be free? (remember those oil wells in the south owned by the northern elites? Do you think they will just give it up like that?I remember! But do you remember how your oil became theirs? Don't you want it back fairly? Remember IBB said he will fight for Nigeria's unity. Do you think it's because he loves Nigeria? Hell no! Guys! open your eyes! open your minds! No I get it! You are scared sh!t of IBB. You want one Nigeria because your are afraid! Well - God has not given us the spirit of fear! Free your mind of fear, so that you can think rationally! IBB is just one sad and worried old gay! Think of him that way, and you will see there is nothing to worry about! Anyhow you look at it, we are doomed unless we make the RIGHT DECISION and follow the RIGHT PATHS.Please you can say - 'you are doomed', but you dont represent 'me or we'. The right path is as I have reminded you - "Referendum!" Find out what Awka Ibom people want, and help the achieve it! let me also add that if the Igbos want their Biafra so badly, they can then see if they can peacefully carve themselves out of Nigeria. PEACEFULLY.Now you are talking, and using your sense. Peaceful desolation of Nigeria is what we Igbo want! Nigeria is not a fair country, and we are tired of sacrificing our children to appease Nigeria. You can choose to stay if you want, Igbo will not ask you or anybody to join her against your wish! But I take God beg you, if you cant get it peacefully, just back out!I take God beg you too, dont tell Igbos how to live their lives! We know what is good for us! Believe me, your preciuos blood is not worth Biafra,For right to life for the unborn; to unshackle Igbo from retrogressive Nigeria, to liberate my Igboland, and ensure unborn Biafrans will have a chance to aspire to highest possible achievement in life - I will gladly lay my life and die in a blaze of glory! Unlike Nigeria, Biafra is worth every drop of a true Igboman blood! a Biafra that you are not even 100% sure of cos the same looting leaders in the Igbo land are the same people who are going to rule Biafra. If Biafrans loots Biafrans, and use the loot to develop Biafran, how is that a loss! Besides, such talks are nothing but conjectures! Biafra will not be heaven, but if I fight for it, I will also look after it. Unlike Nigeria, where 'our son', 'our brother', 'our man' can loot with impunity! Your blood is not worth that kind of expensive gamble!I have already told you what my blood is worth. It is very precious, I can my blood shed in a gamble for Biafra, but NEVER, EVER, for a sh1thole like Nigeria! Let me leave you with this last bit of info to calculateSoon you will learn, that blood is thicker than water! |
olyivy: I am beginning to believe that his anti biafra project does not necessarily support one nigeria project or rather, he is only being critical of the execution of the war and thats all.Well, he has to choose one. If he thinks Nigeria is all and all for him, he should embrace it alongside it's injustice and all. As for me, I believe his so-called 'badly executed Biafran war' trounces even the best Nigeria has ever achieved! |
Another Okija: Unfortunately, we cant account for some of my kinsmen that have been e-murdered in the ethnic cleansing and tribal e-genocide against my kinsmen.. We get benned in our nmbers everydsy at the slightest provocation.. How do you suppose this thread would achieve its purpose of factual representation of the diversity when the Igbos are being banned every second..What happened to your one Nigeria project? Has it been banned too? I laugh in fair Nigeria. ![]() |
Sweetlemon: Now let me tell you why Nigeria's break-up will be far from peaceful. Like someone said, Northern elites have oil wells in oil-rich states right? Good. Now tell me, do you think they will let go of these oil wells just like that?? Oh! Let me also assure you that southern elites also have dealings and businesses with their northern counterparts. How do they just leave that behind? And those Igbos dreaming of having a country with the south-south, do you think the oil rich states will not use our oil as a reason to want to rule over your Biafra?? And knowing how the proud Igbos are will you accept 2nd place? Hehehehehe! I laugh in Biafra!Infact, we don't care of every ethnic group in the Niger Delta forms a country of their own. Igbos does not, and will NEVER depend on Efik, Annangs, Ijaws, Isekiri, and other tribes for oil in Niger Delta region. Indeed, we are too proud to go begging, mbanu! We are not hausa, fulanis, or yorubas who enjoy begging! We are Igbos! I doubt if there is any South Eastern State without substantial oil in their land - discovering it is just a matter of effort! Igbo have enough human and natural resources, and we will gladly share with our Igbo brothers, and our allies. |
Onlytruth: My brother PointB, kedu ije nwanne?I am doing well, your Highness Eze OnlyTruth 1, of Nairaland! I will watch out for the thread. |
Sweetlemon: I have some northern friends from my youth service days in Kaduna I still keep in touch with. I'm also planting this seed in their hearts too. They admit that it will be tough over there because of the religious sentiments (courtesy of their elites) but they do what they can do. The educated, enlightened Hausas will be easy to access. Like I said, all we need is just 30-40 percent of HONEST NigeriansSure you can get your 30-40% honest Almajiris, if you can reverse the brainwash them. And by the way who are the educated and enlightened Hausas - the like of EL Rufia, Mallam Sanusi - the closet boko haramist! Blood lusting CORE North and progressive South will NEVER one!!! Quit it! |
alj harem: Why did you say so ? The only reason why you, your likes and even me are bitter at times is because Nigeria is not as good as USA or so.So until the last of our great grandchildren are called to the great beyond should we realize it's futile to mix oil and water? I have been in same country with you sir for over 50 years, I am tired of you killing me, my children, and my unborn for the flimsiest of reason. I am sick and tired of quota system, and federal character. I am sick and tired of the sick country - I want out, NOW! Keep me in at your own risk; I will NEVER be one with you! I will forever see you as a commercial partner - nothing more, nothing less! |
Sweetlemon: Now we are talking! Fighting will just be in vain. But we sure can work on ourselves. Like I said we need just 30 or 40 percent of honest Nigerians. And whether we like it or not, it starts with loving and accepting our neighbours. Direct our anger at those who have put the hate in us. Our bad leaders. Then watch America come to beg us!Nigeria unity is a pipe dream. It has never been, it will never be! Nigeria will remain stagnant, and indeed retrogress further, unless we divide the darn thing. If your really want to preach unity, please head far north! |
Nice one Odumchi, I've voted. Now waiting for the official result. ![]() |
Why not? He can win election as Councelor in his Ward assuming there are enough dogs and baboons to tip the poll in his favour. |
The fact remains that the original amalgamation of Nigeria was done for very wrong reason, and indeed done the wrong way. If the President acknowledges this fact, I cannot find fault with him, and there is nothing divisive about such (not that division in itself is a bad proposal). In acknowledging the problems heaped on us from 1914 (before or after the amalgamation as we were not told here), the President should take the necessary steps to propose solutions to this wrong. I agree with him though that we have to review how we have lived so far. A SNC has never been so needed in this country. We might soon be shooting ourselves in the streets if we continue to avoid this dialogue. |
Remi's article captured the intricacies of Nigeria - the lies, deceits, that is the foundation of Nigeria. The core northerners will always yearn for a Buhari to enthrone sharia across board, while core southerners will be ever ready to vote an Ibori or even a goat rather than see this agenda materialise. Nigeria will never make meaningful progress as presently constituted. Best we split country into component nations in the interest of all. I agree with every bit of the article. |
Somehow, I see '1914' comment as preparing the ground for SNC. I'll keep my fingers crossed! |
Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Plateau, Southern Kaduna, etc will surely answer their father's name. Let the core North politicians keep dreaming! |
13 APC. Criminality surely then must be the mainstay of folks in that state. This probably has to do with Amosun been an ex-cultist Next topic pls. |
^^^^ Thanks man. ![]() |
kingoflag: Reuters don enter the matter, meaning Western Govt have spoken: VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE.What are you waiting for? No Yoruba soldiers to execute? Ooops I forgot, Yoruba only 'plot' coups but are too cowardly to actually carried out one, only to end up being caught after they might have betrayed themselves as usual. Awo, Diya, Obj readily come to mind here! |
