I always say it here that leaving Nigeria should be for those that are poor. A life of dignity in your motherland, where the people look like you is far more soothing to the soul than living as an immigrant in a country where the population tolerates you and deeply does not want you there. With racism and co.

The best is to just get the nationality as a gateway to the world, then live in Africa. Thats better. But go out there, see if you like it and decide what's best for you.

The UK as well as Belgium (and to some extent France) are the countries I went to and felt sorry for them, like seriously. I will get angry if I see more white/Asian/Arab faces in Nigeria than black faces. For example in Antwerp, there are more Arab-looking people than white Belgians. Brussels and Liege are mixed of people from everywhere, especially Africans and middle-eastern. Belgium is really small and densely populated with 12M people (Niger state is bigger than Belgium at least twice), so the demographic changes are very visible.

See, this is one thing we don't consider when we scream racism.

The big flaw in your thesis is that you ASSUME everyone experiences life same as you. From experience I'd say this is not the case. Ok, debt may not be good for INDIVIDUALS who don't know how to manage debt, BUT debt is very good for SOCIETY!!
Say I sell cement and you want to build a house but you don't have the money, so I can't sell my cement and therefore can't buy car, etc. If the bank lends you the money, suddenly I can sell my cement, car dealer can sell his car, tutors can now get jobs tutoring my children, etc. Then in turn, the car dealer and tutor will now be able to patronize the grocer and barber, who in turn.. etc. Now multiply that times millions. That's why those countries are rich! Money is infact debt!

From what is ground now, it will take time.

2 to 2 years for the economy to adjust.

Still the present government can do far more to kick the economy back to life such as my suggestion of lowering corporate taxes.

I've said from the beginning it is a TRV, a visitor visa. But I already have my plane ticket and Canadian ideas/dreams. The 500K is actually temporary, quickly doubles plus, still...

The peer pressure to japa is currently just too much. People mentality is that traveling is the best option.
My patner started giving me pressure to move out of the country too at the other end am not seeing that as an achievement I mean she expect me to leave a job I created by myself 6years ago in nigeria that is currently fetching me at least 2-3m monthly to japa, if I do will loose all customers because the job is competitive, and for over 6year now I work from home, lose that kind of job and go to Uk as in what kind of job will fetch me 2-3m monthly savings in the Uk, the skills I have is only plumbing work skills i most do that as a side job in nigeria here I only attend to big job, japa is not for everyone you people should stop looking at it as a big achievement… and stop calculating you earning In naija just to say that you better off over there… peace ☮️

There is still a significant economic ceiling in the UK that blacks (Indians have hacked it) struggle to break through. Sure you can leverage your earnings and get a mortgage, car etc but your disposable ( non card) income will be weak. Finally after most have the two cars parked in a nice new development, they hit the ceiling and make peace with it. Some of their colleagues (and by the way I am talking about two sets of successful professionals) not only do well in Nigeria but get invites into a strata of UK society that immigrants can only look at.

I won't talk about the ageing period (70 plus) and absence of social support or the break with their completely acculturized children.

PS: I am not talking of struggling people in Nigeria o. By all means they can japa and do any work and still have better life.

Back then, it was quality people that made it to abroad not quantities. I had two Uncles that were in the UK then, their coolness was out of this world. Not forming oh like today guys.
I moved to the US early 2000s. It took me two years to meet a Nigerian that matches their ratings.
I remember visiting Bahamas, A Bahamian woman that schooled in the Uk was asking me if we still have cool Nigerians in the UK that drive the fanciest car in London? Today na train most of them they ride.
Let me quickly add this, those guys then, were not economic migrants like we have today, that is the big difference.

These days things have flipped. Nigerians are the ones doing the menial jobs

Most of these Western governments like the UK and Canada are part of a new world order open borders mass migration global reset agenda anyway, go to any Canadian online forum and read the comments. 99% of native Canadians are vehemently against their government bringing in 500,000 immigrants yearly and are blaming the mass migration for Canada's massive housing crisis, clogged up health care system and unavailability of good jobs not crappy jobs the government is advertising as being in shortage. So when you get to the UK that oyinbo hate your guts inside lol despite the fake Upper stiff lip smile and wondering inside why you people are massively invading his country and why his sell out government did not ask for his permission before bringing half of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

I don't think it is new world order though. I think it is more that they need fresh blood in certain fields like health care because their population is aging
