ekehopp: Uhm, when drivers are asking for a price increase... These people won't stop, until deh break someone back, I've been on bed all day feeling back ache. Funny enough, I don't feel any ache when sitting or driving, but the moment I stand or decide to take some rest, it will seem as if I receive d beat of life. Price is low and the riders r honestly not complaining, even Sanwo endorsed increment in BRT fares, so why is Bolt so greedy? Was on a trip for 3hrs from Festac to V.I yesterday, trip ended 4700 and rider gave me 6k with compliment, thanking her star, for choosing not to drive yesterday. If only Bolt know that most riders on the Island have heavy machine that uses 3.5L engine, so they know what it takes to put gas in such car, if not for corolla and civic, only heaven knows. Did a feasibility study: if gas of 2500 returns 10k on uber... 5k will go back to gas and uber commission, driver is left with 5k to keep body and soul with car maintenance, and that is like drivers will b having 3k after saving for maintenance. Now these people is talking about reduction, maybe to drivers having 2k after grossing 10k. Premium suffering and smiling |

Babadee1900: Back to this...
I picked my rider from Doculand Awolowo road, cool working class guy. He asked politely that I drive a bit fast as he’s running late for an appointment somewhere around Ologolo.
I got to work and was moving swiftly in between cars, got to freedom way when I sighted a black corolla with tinted windows driving to march my pace, I thought he wanted to play and I was more than ready, he flashed his lights at me twice but I ignored him.
When we got to Jakande traffic light, he pulled up beside me, a police officer in full gears stepped out from the car and two other guys in mufti. I didn’t pay much attention to them until one of the guys in mufti stood in front my car brandishing handcuffs , I looked back at my rider he wasn’t using face mask, different thoughts began to run through my mind. The one with the cuffs came to my side and displayed his ID for me to see.
I was still trying to process everything when I noticed that my rider has already opened the door for one of them to come in. The one at my side later joined his colleague at the back seat leaving my rider in the middle. They ordered me to drive and follow the corolla.
They introduced their self and began to question the guy. Collected his phone....... The following takes place between the hour of 2:35PM - 3:35PM Subtitled By: Don Movies To b continued...

davit: How do I set it then? Tap d search icon on the right side of ur phone and input the destination you want, follow the procedures. It won't return as error if it work, just close the app and relunch it again, but if it returns as error, it means you can't set trip at that particular point in time. |

Crvrider: Okay. You're really doing okay. I target 2.5k - 4.5k per day minus fuel using InDriver alone and it is practically impossible to achieve considering the time I close (7pm) from work when on morning shift. I really need to get uber activated. What's holding me is that there's a scratch on the driver side of my car and I need a spare tyre.
...if only InDriver has set destination feature. The other day, I blew empty from vi to ajao. Plus you have a lot of people playing with the app. Bolt is beta than Uber when it comes to setting destination. |

ad0nis: Yesterday was really something else for me. I took a rider from Ogba to Lekki phase 1, when I dropped her and checked the time it was 5:30pm. So I set my destination to Magodo as I stay around that axis. I didn't get any request until I got to Falomo bridge. The PU was just 7 mins away, the rider was in V.I. I picked her up and started the trip. She was heading to Maryland, I was looking for the fastest way to get to her destination using Google maps as I wasn't too familiar with that area but this map bleeped me up. I just drove round and round only to end up at ring road where there was a horrible traffic. The rider started complaining that I was just trying to cheat her then I tried explaining to her that it was just a mistake but she wasn't taking it. Next thing I knew this lady started crying o, saying everyone has just been cheating her that day. She started calling all of her friends, crying and telling them about her uber driving was trying to cheat her. We were stuck in traffic, next thing I know, this lady opened the door and said she was going to walk. I said walk ke? We're on a bridge ma, you're not supposed to even open the door here. She said she wants to jump inside the water and end her suffering. I was so shocked, I started begging this lady not to jump and that she should come inside, she didn't agree. I had to end the trip there and told her that I'll take her to her destination for free, that she should just come inside, then she did. She kept crying and crying for almost 2 hours until we got to Maryland. I was so exhausted that I don't think I'll work for a few days. Sorry for the unexpected, maybe u need to take out time to study the map and as well ask rides for direction. About her, she's going through what we therapist call pseudobulbar, and it can b cure with some therapeutic treatments and counsel. Lemmi have her number, it will b a pleasure to render service selflessly. |

Crvrider: When you said doing lekki and marina trip was it just picking random passengers or platform trips? I love driving, but I don't think it will ever get to that... I was just fortunate to b getting within trips, if there's one tin I've always known in dis bussines, those that live in lekki have a great advantage compare to those on the mainland, no matter how a bad day goes on the island, you will still take sometin home unlike when mainland choose to fustrate one, from yaya abatan to adeniyi Jones, there to opebi, from opebi to alausa, then back to adeniyi Jones, up next - magodo, then one will sleep well b4 next within magodo trip 7 trips 4 thousand naira I miss d good old ole days, from mainland to island, do within till 4/5, gently set destination, while I drive towards V.I and position under surge, won't pick any trip not worth 2k5. |

Felicity0001: True because with bolt your set destination expires the moment the trip ends but with Uber it continues till your must have arrived at your destination.
Talking about set destination.
I'm presently in VI with a rider with 3.0rating, I brought him here from Allen, Ikeja and he wants me to wait for about 2hrs and take him back because I made the ETA 15min earlier of whi I he was already late for a meeting.
Now, would I just wait for this man for 2hrs doing nothing? I suggested I hang around but he said he would pay me 1k per hr for waiting. So right now I'm kinda confused because 1. I've not collected miney for the trip yet 2. I've not made any reasonable amount of money since 7am that I left the house, just 3k since morning. 3. There's surge presently.
So I'm thinking if I set destination around this LGA if it will make sense I work b4 he's done.
Suggest guys.
Thanks
c.f.: izzuo, deedee, Vision2045, pope191, plus all my ogas I call dis destiny boss, u have to keep to d promise at the same time make best of ur time... I've been in this position b4, took a rider from awolowo rd ikoyi to shoprite ard Oniru and they ask me to wait, I don't get? Ride is just 800, pay me and let me go, they said "Please wait, I feel more comfortable for u to take us back", dats with the 2 kids she have with her, so I ask how long? she said " Maybe 1 or 2, don't worry we will pay u", hmmm! Pay me!! ohk!!! No negotiate, just words on trust. Me! That's having heavy head, I can't stay in such sun and surge b waiting for 2 hrs, so I was just doing lekki and mariner trip, hoping I'll plead for 10/15mins when they r ready, as fate will have it I make 6500 doing dose trips, coupled with the 3k plus I've made before picking them. I was just ard Oniru when her call came in, dis woman spent 4 good hrs plus, I still took her to badore when she was done shopping, before dropping her off at Pick up, imagine if I have waited that long leaning on hope... Las las! Time to pay, I bill dem 15k, she smile if I want to kill dem, let me pay 5k? Ma! R u whining me ni, 5k how? See let's just do 12... Back and forth we settle for 10k, after paying, she was looking like someone that lost sometin "Oh! And I have to buy voucher, but I don't have any cash on me", I just look her won kind, sha take 500 go and get card. She thanked me like oh! U are such a nice person bless day to say d lest, set destination trip to Ogba and immediately get Berger ard 3k. Oh my Bolt, how I missed thou So next time boss if I were in ur shoes, the restless me will take my chances, worst I'll text the rider to leave a 15 mins notice before his set to go time, cos I need to eat and may stay ard the food joint. I did sometin stupid yesterday, tho it was intentional. Found myself ard ogunlana yesterday, so I was thinking if I should go to brown street to share Vodka with Defortune, when dis request beep, rider was going to circle mall lekki, I don't know what came over me, cos it was ard 9:12pm... I just told her straight, I can't go, but will try if she's willing to pay 5k. That's how I face lekki ard 9:15pm, got dia ard 9:48, and this girl is using me to play I don't know she's not the one paying, I have to wait for the guy thats coming to pick her to make payment, I was so mad at her, she was just begging. I left lekki ard 10 with heavy heart, but seeing other road users heading same way, boost my moral we all meet 3 road stop and search blocks, I honestly don't want to experience such again in my life, it wasn't easy leaving one fate in the hands of police. |

I get you now but to me 15-20k for a family man is still unrealistic.
Any one that wants to invest on the uber business at this point in time should be ready to count his losses, to me the only business that suits this times is that keropu abi na small doctor them dey call am. Those guys are the currdng efcc now cashing like kilode.
Bigleaf asked how would a partner owner maintain and repair a car with 15k weekly rental.
Bigleaf here is you answer in the screen shot.
Now tell me how a driver can pay you 35k weekly?
Don't say I didnt work some days oooh... Even b4 d pandemic I still don't work everyday, my mentality is once I have my rental money I can decide to close shop.
Body no b fire wood.
On Sunday now I'll go out 2pm work till 8pm I'm back home. Just to get money for fuel and pot of soup for house.
na 200k I dey find for over 4weeks now to pay my rent I never see.
This is not work oh Boss! BosE!! Why u carry fuel rob body and b dancing ard fire lyk dis? You r looking for 200k in 4 week? Beta goan learn bureau d change from Mompha Even if ur salaray is 150k. U will obviously need 8 weeks to pay 200k as rent, anything u do that will take more then 2 months for u to come up with ur rent is not worth it... Even car owners know in dis season that it is almost impossible to meet up with such task. We need to learn joggling, dis ain't a permanent spot. |

Ghost1994: Similar thing happened to me recently.
My experience on bolt yesterday’
So I got a request from Magodo rider heading to Ikorodu around 4pm.
I put a called through and told her I’m not going to Ikorodu she said wait that she would like me to drop her at ketu which is fine by me.
Rider didn’t changed the destination so I drove to ketu by sweet sensation ended the trip.
Hmmmm to my greatest shock, I saw 2150 damn
Bolt as fixed their price even if you stayed 2hrs in traffic is still same thing.
I drove 21mins no surge nothing
Bolt and inDriver are now in the same category.
Whoever doubt this, should calculate the price immediately you get a trip to the riders destination and tell us what happened after you end the trip and what now happen? Did d rider add anything? |
