I actually meant those that were blocked for other reasons like, passenger did not show, client cancelled and you did not accept.

I wish to know if their ratings were above 4.9 and they still got blocked.

Bolt ratings is terrible, nah number 1 thing wey make me hate del be dat, dropped dia silly app since last year.

I think the 40 trips threshold should be reduced to 10 like Uber, that's why u don't see Uber ratings emanciating like bolt own. undecided

Bolt 4.9 for morning, u smile but within 2hrs u fit see 4.5. Omo!! Those days were hell, ur heart go just dey cut. grin
grin if only they understand the effort it takes to build rating just to crash it anyhow

The simple reason they do it is for security reasons, make you Noh go burst rider head or waste groundnut for him body becos him gii u 1 star.

Also it would be less efficient of your ratings have to keep moving after every trip
I can relate, I kind of like Uber rating, cos Bolt rating is hypertensive grin

You are not quite correct, your ratings variation isn't immediate, it's usually combination of several trips.

The % of ratings you get over 10 trips determine your ratings, abeg if you see your ratings drop immediately you drop one rider, Noh be that rider cos am o, nah your past sins catch you o
I go with this, cos Bolt official said they rate drivers after 40 trips. So I know if you can do 15/20 trips back to back without any issue, your rating will surely smile.

Guy just die the matter. Why would anyone help do such a thing? What if the item was bought with a stolen credit card? Not insinuating .... just saying. Forgive me for seeing it from this angle.
It's pointless not seeing it from that angle, let's not act brand new, we r products of a broken society and who we r. There r traits u must have by being a Nigerian and worst if you r born in Lagos, Warri or PH. I'm not a saint, full lasgidi rep, but they r things I just don't have energy in again. Riders r owing me as I type now, I even pick someone from v.i to surulere yesterday 4hrs traffic on surge, trip ended at almost 20k. It's the matter that I am trying to settle with Uber and they r telling me that's the right estimation after review. Told rider to pulse payment, I'm not sharp or dull, my joy and peace is everything to me

Note: Learnt in Dubai, they r not offering Nigerians job, e get why.

My brother, that's why I wrote e-hailing should always be seen as a side hustle.
Yep! I dig, but to me all still remains a variable hustle that requires time, risk and strength. Unlike sitting down in the office issuing receipt or permit and for u to answer anyone on time, they must squeeze hand to shake u. Chai! I remember when I was learning d role of a marine personnel, to get import permit from DPR, you will settle up to 500k, those top men no longer work, they have errand loyalist that do the stress. There's this woman at PPMC that stamps document's use to claim subsidy. Heaven knows she won't touch that document if you don't greet her with 20k upward , either the photocopy won't be clear enough or the hard cover is not good enough.

On this Bolt trying to lower fares further, maybe we should consider porting to EkoCab. I see potential in EkoCab for two key reasons:
1. It is State Government backed;
2. Sterling Bank is financing

Why don't we form a "body" or a "committee" to engage EkoCab as it plans to launch. I have inside information that they have an initial 100 tokunbo cars to give out on hire purchase to drivers. The cap is #2,000,000 and the interest is 17% per annum for 2 years. That means a #2,680,000 payment over 2 years - or approximately #26,800 per week. If you take a car that is worth #1,500,000; your total payment over 2 years will be #2,010,000 or #20,100 per week. And the whole remittance thing is flexible.

I understand good cars can be registered on the platform too.

EkoCab has the potential to knock both Uber and Bolt out of the Lagos market. Maybe it's time we all key in.

Lastly, e-hailing should always be seen as a side hustle. There are other legit hustles that pay off well. For example, I know someone who brings in Palm Oil into Lagos from Benin. Another packages and sells yam flour on Jumia. Yet another brings in kilishi from Abuja. They all make good money.

My 2 Kobo.
All what u list here is still hustle, why not upgrade certificate or move to a better country where things work?

Honestly

I saw the guy comment and I was like is this guy joking,
i would even prefer to go on 2 trips that will give me 10k than going on 10 trips that will give me 15k.

They should make it the higher the price the lower the rides sef cuz much rides would affect driver's health and car maintenance.

Their only concern is getting commission from much rides but they failed to do their maths correctly.

If 5 trips amounts to 10k gross while 10 trips amount to same 10k gross, it is still same commission they will have on the total amount of 5 trips they will still have on the total amount of 10 trips, but in this case, drivers are doing less trips for higer fare while their own commission still remain but they must have tot the more trips the more commission for them.

They should make the price higher and rides lower, let who can afford it take the ride while the ones that can't afford it go for danfo.
Look at it from this angle, if u have 7 trips daily at 10k and u have 4 hours break in total. Reducing the price now will make you do like 14 trips that may worth 15k with less or no rest, that way you drive extra, u burn more airtime to call rider, u make extra 2500 instead of 5k on 7 trips, while Bolt make extra 1k plus the 2k. At the end of the day it's a win win for Bolt and riders, while car owner face the challenge of fixing over worked variable asset and drivers r left with different aches.

They are simply misinformed, a very good number of them may not have even done motor business before.
Some even borrow money to do the business and they calculate that the car will be paying 100 or 120k every week and they work with this calculation only to see that it's not what it is on paper, plus they may be unfortunate to fall into the hands of bad or irresponsible drivers in addition to some other unforseen factors.
That unforseen factors is one of the strong reasons business fall... Like saying everyone have a plan until they got hit by reality.

I disagree with the both of you on this, this rider im question did no wrong, he asked the driver right before the trip started if he accept tra transfer and he said yes so where was he wrong here?

Every driver is expected and advised to have a car charger for themselves and their riders, me I've a iPhone, Samsung and BB cord for both myself and my riders so what the driver ought to have done was to offer his rider a charging cord to get his phone charged so he can pay him his money right there b4 leaving. Rider was even kind enough to tip him extra 1k.

Yes, we all know alert can take some times reason why it is also advised you have the app for right check. Driver ourght to have been patient and have some respect instead he went ahead and report rider hasn't paid.

Thats wrong.
Trying to do the right thing does not amount to doing the right thing, if he/she has paid the driver in cash, none of us will b discussing dis.

Not quite true, yes there are obviously sratches and minor dents but nothing major except for full suspension overhaul which he is taking care of and need I say that the odometer reading on all the cars is less than 100k.

The problem is that he got into the business at a wrong time and his expectations fell short with rentals,so he is backtracking and switching to HP.

2 no's 06 and 07 Camry and 1 manual 07 Corolla, you can go have a look and possibly make an offer to buy if interested.
Those r not my choice car, I still maintain, its not worth spending over 1.2 million on this hustle.

To be honest we sincerely need a platform where atleast 70% of e-hailing partners can be reached.....

This companies just do as it suit them.... I don't know if anyone notice that today....around that afternoon destination was hidden.

Now they are talking of economy .....same car, same fuel cost....same wears and tears, same distance.... But low fare.....

Abeg who no go choose economy when you know the service is same as the lite.....why the premium package no sell, na cos less people opt for it....before we know it economy will become the new lite

Aswear if I get money I go buy that indriver repackage their strategy and app... In just a year .. Bolt will be out of business in Nigeria

Imagine someone on economy behaving rudely towards you with the 300naira him/she wan pay u...
Lol... That's how they push Bolt to Lite and drivers r begging to join Lite, with time Economy will become Economy Lite, then to Economical Liter. cheesy

HP and rental guys may not do this.
Boss let d driver drop the car wit d owner when off work, its for a greater purpose or is it until the car owner brings provision to his bedside at d hospital they will both understand where all these is heading too... Have you ever seen a keke man that work from 5am to 10pm before? Yet they work in the morning, go home and sleep and back during closing hours and still b off road before an uber driver that has been on the road all day. bro, some poeple just want to work and work, they don't care abt thr welfare...this survey i hope i can fill and submit it multiple times?
Its practically impossible, I've made this analysis last week, before the lockdown everytin is almost at equilibrium, cos everyone is queuing into the uber/bolt idea, working class has set aside bills for transportation, drivers look out 4 nothing less than 15k above on sat/sun wit d party freaks/weekend hook ups and all these r achievable before the lockdown. So I see no reason why both is trying to play a smart one on the drivers or nature when things r yet to b back to normalcy by trying to increase their pace of making profit in season like this, its outright wickedness, I feel so bad, cos I feel people are helpless mentally, emotionally and financially. This is the advantage the so call capitalist r taking cos there is no unification among drivers, go offline and they use surge to tease u out and then give u another clear upper cut. If all drivers switch to mykab, believe me riders will download mykab same moment, cos they need to meet up with dis business too, most folks can't trek with their estate again, why do you think their always surge and short trips around surulere and yaba? Its a need and not want.

Drivers will rush back to Uber, small time Uber too will introduce their own craze and drivers will rush to the initially abandoned bolt. Sometimes I feel like Uber and bolt have meetings on how to keep using drivers to play ping pong
These things r simple, drivers don't know the power they have, its pointless to riot or make fuss... Gently go offline for 3 days, work 1 day for those that need refreshing, go offline again for 2 days and back a again for a day refresting, until they call driver to a round table discussion, but it seems like hunger in d land will always win.

They can hardly b victory without sacrifices

Hi guys, good afternoon.

I have an issue.

I had a ride. It was 2500. I asked the driver if he accepted transfers. He said no problem.

I arrived at my destination, it was late at night, my phone died, I asked him to text me his details and he did. At around 3am, I put on my phone and saw his text, so I transferred 3500 to him cos he tried and then I replied him 3500 sent thanks.

Only for him to start calling me with a very aggressive tone saying why am I doing like this bla bla that he didn't get any money.

I checked my balance, no money reversed yet, I sent him a screenshot of my debited account with his name on it. I wanted to send him another 2500 cos his tone was very aggressive but I just decided to call my bank to know what was happening. They confirmed to me that the transaction was successful on their end and the recipient should confirm with his bank. I sent him the recorded call with the customer care to confirm. He didn't text me again.

Now Uber says I owe 2500 from last trip when I wanted to book today, I tried using their app help but they Only have all those pretexted help. No access to their mail.

Does anybody know their mail or what should I do?

I'm regretting tipping him 1k extra now.
Sorry about this, tho you have your share of blame, there's nowhere Uber stated payment via transfer, so it will be hard to give you attention. But on the other hand, since you have the debit alert, why not reach out to Uber and clear yourself by showing your prove of payment. No cause for alarm, its just a battle to prove who is on the right side between you and the driver.
