Are they bandits or terrorists? |
Is he tired of showing apc's path so soon? If it's true. |
ANAKONDA:Oga, you can cross-check your fact very well, his entitlements have been paid. NEPA paid heavy severance package to all their staff then. It was a subjects of a prolonged labour issues at the time. Don't let us sidestep the issue of the current severe hardship that is currently devastating individuals and households in our country. Doing so will project a false picture. Doing so would leave open the space for more of this. This man is not yet a senior citizen at only 48 years of age. He was devastated economically as we can glean from the report. In a society where the pillars of support like the church have completely fallen, where church leaders' advice to women is 'impliedly' to avoid 'jobless' people, these type of negative 'solutions' to seeming hopelessness will only aggravate. |
ZuzuMan:This he commit suicide two years ago? The report said he was managing a small scale business up until now, he saw that things are tight and offered his car for sale at 250k but got it priced at 150k. They said he has been boisterous and contributed positively in his community and only began to lose hope recently. Are you people sociopaths? |
Nigerians ain't seen anything yet! By the time this government's tenure is over, suicide will be as common as plastic bags on the street. Nigeria is fast losing its support systems. The family support system that has ensured financial, socioeconomic and mental stability for several centuries has been wiped out in just one year, Family heads who are hitherto breadwinners are losing their dignity in the face of hopelessness. Unfortunately, the APC sympathizers have long told us that many people will die before the 'Dubai' they are building manifests. Life expectancy at the end of this government's tenure will not be more than 35 years. |
amaechi1:Is it that you are confused or you are deliberately lying? At one point you will refer to 16 years of the PDP, at another point your bitterness will make you obtuse to limit it to the 'last administration'. Where you people got your $52bn external reserves under Jonathan that you keep repeating without shame is not clear. President Jonathan was sworn-in as president on the 6th of May, 2010, external reserves stood at $38.8bn as at end of May that year according to data from the CBN. That was when Nigeria was importing everything, when nothing was restricted. One would think that the reserves would be growing now that Nigeria’s import is virtually non-existent. If 41 items have been removed from the import list for forex support by the Buhari administration, and the foreign reserves is still being depleted at an alarming rate, then something is wrong. If you don't have shame, you don't have shame. Period! |
Standing5:Eyahhhhhhh! You don't even know the argument before making a comment. You should just have asked for a clue for the 'puzzle' or simply quote the data you suggested by yourself to bust the 'argument'. Ore, you are smarter than that, there's nothing to quote in what you mentioned. Non-oil producing states are not entitled to 13% derivation, or are they? Emphasis is on the bold part, 13% derivation. It doesn't correlate with the statement of Fowler. If only 30% is from oil revenue as he claimed, those oil producing states won't have such enormous share for 13% derivation. Do you get the 'argument' now? Good! Oya, come and contradict the argument with this Kano data then. Kano Total allocation - N10.776bn Statutory allocation - N2.44bn Excess crude - N2.7bn Statutory allocation for 44 LGS - N2.669bn Excess crude for 44 LGS - N2.959bn If you need more states' data 'come and collect'. Lol. |
Jobs! (millions of jobs lost due to failed policies; thousands of families destroyed) Central bank's autonomy (monetary policy is now being controlled by Buhari; announcement made by Garba Shehu) University autonomy (federal universities boards can be arbitrarily dismissed) Unity in the polity (severe tribal/ethnic distrust not seen since the civil war; all the gains of integration policies since the end civil war eroded in 1 year) Food food food (Nigeria is in famine for the first time ever; households are experiencing severe pangs of hunger; parents now pawn their children while some rent babies for food) GDP (negative GDP growth for two quarters; second quarter's numbers being awaited) Life expectancy (people drop dead at an alarming rate; security forces trained to defend civilians now kill same people in hundreds; cattle rearers kill wantonly; suicide rate is unprecedented) Human dignity (begging for alms by able-bodied men is alarming) Media independence (media now blackout government's negative side until foreign media and social media step in; e.g. severe malnutrition and deaths in IDP camps in the north east were ignored till the UN raised the alarm) Fair hearing (corruption related accused are deemed guilty as charged or without charge; trials are carried out in the media) Civil service efficiency (the civil service's ability to implement the simplest of things has deteriorated unimaginably; simple tasks like budget preparation is now so so difficult) |
Too much confusion, wishful thinking and opaqueness: 1) Udo Udoma/Kemi Adeosun -.'We are looking beyond oil revenue' , 'the future we are building is zero oil based' Yet; Buhari - spent $340m (N27bn) searching for crude oil in the Sahara desert. 2) Fowler - '70% of revenue (FAAC) shared in July comes from non-oil (tax) sources. Yet; FAAC - Rivers State Total July allocation - N25,883bn 13 per cent derivation - N10.138bn Excess crude - N12.803bn Statutory allocation - N1.39bn Delta State Total allocation - N18.622bn 13 per cent derivation - N6.977bn Excess crude - N8.734bn Statutory allocation for LGs - N1.379bn Excess crude distribution for LGs - N1.531bn |
The 'defeated' Boko Haram has now been engaged to run the IDP camps by Buhari's government. -Garba Shehu, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista:The agreement is to get the Indians out of Ajaokuta and confine them to Aladja. The plant is now fully federal government owned. That was what they said weeks ago. They are probably going to open a new bid for concessioning or begin to pump money into it from the budget. |
The Indians are not going to revive anything. They were 'paid' to opt out of Ajaokuta forthe federal government to take over. They will now hold on to Aladja alone. That's the 'modified concession' they referred to there. The federal government is now either going to run the plant as a wasteful parastatal under Fayemi through budgetary provisions or look for their friends to concession it to, like El Rufai did with Pentascope then. What they have not told us is how much was 'paid' to get the Indians out. The initial agreement specified a penalty for an alteration or breach. |
Aside from the exchange rate, Dangote would be hard hit by this non-performing economy naturally. Many private, corporate and public constructions have stopped. Cement sales must be down. Their performance this year should reflect the state of the economy. |
My brother, these are normal things in most egalitarian societies. There's no big deal in criticizing leaders or holding them to account. As a matter of fact, one can draw a correlation between a free society and quality of life within the context of northern and southern Nigeria poverty levels. What is however unacceptable is an attempt to shield Buhari from criticism. An attempt to canonize or deify him in spite of the monumental failures of his administration due to his gross incompetence. Such efforts as we are experiencing is leading to poor quality of life in the south as has been the norm in the north for centuries. The export of poverty and intolerance that has been the signature of the north is gradually creeping down south. The danger is that resistance is weakning and poverty and misery are alarmingly expanding. The time tested character of boldness to challenge incompetences of an average southerner is being sacrificed on the alter of ego, religious and group considerations by some people. That is the danger, my friend. The people who made a poor choice and utterly miscalculated would want everyone to be silent for their god, in the hope that things would turn around by magic. We would be playing with fire (inferno really) if we somehow copy the 'don't ask don't tell policy' of the northerners in holding these guys to account. It is dangerous to do so. Before you know what is happening, the 'ba bi Allah' principle would replace hardwork, tenacity and courage in the face of adversity for which the south has been known for centuries. The Yoruba nation, for instance, fought wars against any form of oppression and internal dominition which led to the freedom and independence of each tribe. The leaders also became aware that citizens won't tolerate any stupidity from them. The result is the free spirit to pursue one's goal and better life within the confines of the law without any inhibitions whatsoever. And that is responsible for the tolerance, freedom and relative good standard of living being witnessed. What we should advocate is that the right thing should be done. Fairness and equity must be pursued vigorously. We should not tire to remind these people that no human being is worth worshiping. If anyone is accused of corruption, he should be properly arraigned in the court and prosecuted, he would be able to defend himself. If he is found guilty the court would pronounce the sentence, and if otherwise, he is discharged and acquitted. A situation where someone would arrest his enemies and fail to charge the them to court or refuse to obey court orders on the constitutional rights to freedom and liberty for months is what should be attacked. We should not encourage an Arab-like or North Korean type of society where the 'leader' is god. Believe you me, egalitarianism is most rewarding than the RANKADEDE lifestyle you are trying to encourage here. |
ojoj:Oga, na wa o! Buhari is god now ehn? |
SirJeffry:Ehnnnnn... That means Donald Trump is in trouble o. In fact, Trump should just fold up his campaign and go home, Obama has won the presidency for Hillary. All hail the 'god' of the blacks. |
What's all this fixation about Donald Trump by Nigerians? Are we going to be negatively affected by an American president's election more than we are already being negatively affected by our own elected government? How has Obama's presidency positively affected us? |
Lol Ebi labe agbada (ebi labe hijab) They should be their brothers' keepers and share some with the malnourished people at IDP camps. The UN and USAID would be glad to keep theirs.
|
oduastates:You people keep posting hopeless rants everywhere. Obasanjo started it, Yaradua paid for it, Abacha drew the plan, Mungo Park discovered it, Mary Slessor slep inside it, Uthman dan Fodio laid the track... This is how psychosis starts. |
IBBG:This guys ehn? By July 2017, it would be "2018 budget to be funded by recovery from war booty". |
madridguy:Looooooooooool "Owo budget ti pe". Wawan saki. |
Deen77:Whether you import petrol or you refine, crude oil is traded in dollars. |
NavierStokes:Don't stress yourself my guy. They didn't call it a zero (0) budget for fun. |
Ibime:Technical consultants to the fund release? What is that? |
Housing:Dogo turenchi. NNPC is making 'profit' now. |
0 budget. |
badttrader:You are right. That's where Fashola should be. He has the experience. They want to waste this Ibitayo's career with this low job. |
All these eggheads just to regulate electricity? Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Regulation? It is not that they are coming to run anything. This is just a regulatory job. Fashola is good at that, with his LAWMA & LASTMA experience, he should be transferred to that agency, while this Ibitayo guy should be made the minister of power and these other guys should be appointed his aides. That's how to use human resources. |
teemy:Don't count on the intelligence of these people, they are mentally enslaved. The allegations suddenly shifted from three Nigerian reps attempting to rape a chambermaid and soliciting for prostitutes on Americans soil to three Nigerian reps acting in an unruly manner at the American embassy in Abuja, Nigeria and the mentally enslaved won't still see anything amiss. It is typical of we black people. It is a shame! |
dre11:This is a blatant lie. What is the meaning of national institutions. When they want to distort justice, they come up with illogical reasoning. Countries issue summons on any ambassador at any time and any day through the foreign ministry. Is the foreign ministry not a national institution? The ambassador is lying. They have gone from reps' attempted rape and soliciting for prostitutes to allegations of unruly behavior at the embassy. Why did this foreign minister not issue the summons on the ambassador? Why is he taking side with a foreign country in the cruel treatment of his own countrymen? Must this foreign minister behave like a slave to the Americans? Who does he represent? Nigerians or the Americans? And as usual, the worshipers who have been boasting of US all-knowing, all-powerful, evidence wielding, omnipotent abilities are helping to divert the argument. What are the lawmakers supposed to do? When you make a complaints to your foreign ministry against a hostile embassy and the foreign ministry instead was perceived to be acting in the interest of the hostile country, what are you supposed to do? Fold your arm and watch your reputation go up in flames for nothing? This is the same foreign minister who said that the "witness" the Americans relied on said she won't 'testify". Then why did he not get other so-called "evidences" from the Americans and present to the reps, after all, he is not above summons? Why is he acting in the interest of the Americans in this case? The national assembly should promptly call for the resignation of the traitor minister. 1) U.S. ambassador to Qatar summoned in response to soldiers joking on video near flags https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2016/06/09/u-s-ambassador-to-qatar-summoned-in-response-to-soldiers-joking-on-video-near-flags/ 2) Iran summons Swiss ambassador over US Supreme Court ruling http://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/iran-summons-swiss-ambassador-over-us-supreme-court-ruling-116042601088_1.html 3) Iran Summons French Ambassador Over Opposition Rally In Paris http://www.rferl.org/content/iran-summons-french-ambassador-over-opposition-rally-paris-peoples-mujahedin-exiles/27855265.html 4) Qatar summons US ambassador over video with soldiers laughing at national flag https://www.rt.com/news/346026-qatar-us-soldiers-video/ 5) 'Disappointed' India summons US ambassador over sale of F-16s to Pakistan http://www.dawn.com/news/1239272/disappointed-india-summons-us-ambassador-over-sale-of-f-16s-to-pakistan?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+dawn-news+%28Dawn+News%29 |
DIKEnaWAR:Then why can't they understand her now? That's what she wants to do. It's her baby. |
When Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade was busy defending Buhari in a paddy paddy military camaraderie style, he didn't bargain for the outcome. He was one of the people they used his moral authority to sell Buhari. Why is Pa Akinrinade granting this interview now? Should we assume he no longer have access Buhari, Tinubu and Oshinbajo directly? Why is he telling us these? It is going to a year now that the APC blatantly denied all the promises they made, why did he not talk then? Did he not hear then? Or did he think they will change their minds? Did he somehow think they the 'restructuring promise' would be treated differently from other 'promises'? |
