edogirl2: A senior security official mocking an arrestee for being disoriented is beyond the pale and so unprofessional.

It's the equivalent of a doctor mocking a weak and helpless patient behind his back.

Everywhere you look, the country is such a disappointment. I am sorry to say that, as I want the best for the country. It's just so hard to be hopeful when you see what's happening.
She simply stated what happened at the DSS office, contrary to Alh Lai Mohammed's own account of his bravado.

The same DSS people came to his rescue.

belleOfaces: Its called 'temporary insanity'. He wasnt planning it. What a shame tho. 2 lives lost.
He planned it.

Read it again.

He said he told her he would kill her and kill himself.

He went ahead and killed her, then 'attempted' to 'kill' himself too.

By his own account this is clearly a premeditated murder.

He also said someone usually call her phone. It wasn't that very day that the said caller started.

Enough time to plan murder and 'come up' with a 'convincing' excuse.

There should be more sources, The Doctor as she is not alive patient client privilage doesnt exist anymore and it would help investigation.
Neighbours, family members and police statements, all those were missing true.
Thank You for bringing me back to earth
You have my respect Madam.

aisha2: If you have contrary information please share it. This is the report we read so far and can only react to that
You are shooting before aiming.

Why react that way to a murder report that clearly quoted a lone source, the murderer himself.

You were not there, no eye witness report, no police investigative report, nobody. Except the murderer alleging his justification for murdering a human being.

What other contrary information do you seek? And when you get that information, assuming the guy made up everything, what would be your reaction again.

Will you undo your judgment on the dead?

A guy similarly butchered his female friend in Abuja some years back, cut off his own p e n i s, went to the hospital, claimed he was attacked by the woman when police swooped on him. It turned out the murder was premeditated because of petty jealousy and stupid insecurity, and he severed his own p e n i s by himself

React to report but don't pass judgment the way you did. Usually a caveat would have been good - if this man is saying the truth.

That would have saved you from seeming wicked if it turns out he was lying.

Anybody can say anything after the act.

And, enough of justification for murder. If we all have to kill because of one wrong or another, how do you think it'll be for you too.
Family › Re: Man Kills Wife. Says She Infected Him With HIV by porka: 7:55am On Aug 11, 2014
aisha2: This is just all sorts of sad.
The man had a family at home but like some of my brothers do, he left his family in the village to start living another lady in a "City Marriage" probably she looked more beautiful and sopisticated.

The woman was wicked, she seems to want to spread the disease all round, she knew she was positive, hide her status and went on to infect the man. Who may have probably in the days of his ignorance infected his wife back home and they would always return to the village during Christmas

After she was done infecting the man, she wanted to move on and infect another man who may also be married. In these days of information why did she feel the need to take as many people with her as possible?

Killing her was needless but so is her own actions, going round infecting others with a disease
How do you know if this murderer is saying the truth?

How do you determine if it was not him that infected the woman, if at all he is even HIV positive?

Have you been to the said hospital to interview the doctor? Are you even sure if there's any hospital?

How do you make these kind of pronouncements before investigation starts? He has only been taken into custody for Christ's sake.

How could living humans passed judgment on the dead based on a living person's testimony when they were not party to the incident?

Are we suddenly losing our African values of not speaking ill of the dead because they cannot defend themselves anymore?

Why are we suddenly giving murderers excuses?

Is that why some people are justifying mass murder by Shekau?

A pastor was even reported to have demanded an apology to Boko Haram. Can you believe that?

A Rtd Major General has even been clamoring for compensation to Boko Haram. Can you imagine that?

It looks like killing human beings in our country can be justified in any form.

An apparent junkie confessed to killing his own father and butchering the body recently and some Nigerians found justifications in his mumbo jumbo excuses.

What is really going on?

Is this why white people think we are savages?

myads890: I believe the American and EU governments have finally realised that any fund is sent Nigeria is looted by polithieves and never used for its main purpose. And probably also that Nigeria is capable of funding itself but the funds are always looted by corrupt and incompetent "leaders".

Nigeria shouldn't lament. We deserve everything that's coming to us
You simply do not know how America's money is utilized.

America will never give any money to any country's politician, they would even try and corner their own share of the so-called loot under secret deals with those same politicians.

Those funds will be spent on military hardwares made entirely by American weapons manufacturing companies and supplied by American arms contractors.

The trainings are handled entirely by American contractors and where they require overseas training, officers and men will go to America for such.

More than 80% American monies will return back to them.

Those funds will never leave American financial institutions.

In the case of humanitarian courses, crumbs giving out are channeled through NGOs.

Congratulations to Mr. Rauf Aregbesola for his victory at the poll.

This is the first electoral victory for APC since they came together and this is the first election ever to be won by Aregbesola in Osun State.

This victory shows they can actually win election if they communicate to the people simply instead of threatening violence and mayhems thereby scaring people.

Effective communications and not bombs. Electoral victory and not judiciary appointment.

SirShymex: Yes, a lot of Jews are also massive financial donors to politicians. People with Jewish ancestry have the highest number of billionaires per population - a lot of American, German, Polish, Russian, French, and British billionaires are Jews. He who pays the piper dictates the tune.

Also, it seems most of us are naive and we take the flowery words, eloquence, and articulation of these politicians seriously, rather than for face value. Most of them are just figure-heads for those who put them there, since all western countries have a certain path/doctrine they must adhere to. America's foreign policy, at the moment is controlled by Zbigniew Brzezinski's Grand Chessboard. And he can't really stray from that. However, that doesn't negate the fact that domestically, Obama has also been a failure. Even if I've not been following America's domestic politics of late, due to how fraudulent the whole thing is. I know the country's debts have doubled since Obama took over, and that means:he singlehandedly doubled the debts the country accumulated since independence - cray. And I also know the housing market in that country is dead - my aunt recently lost so much money on that.

Anyway, one thing I'll always give Obama, "Mr. Yes We Can," credit for, is that, he was able to touch so many people in 2008. That campaign coincided with when I started to develop interest in African/black history, and it kind of drew me into following international politics - and enlightenment. Without him, I probably wouldn't even know much today, apart from what's in the media. I can't even over-emphasise how Obama 2008 touched my life - and even my mates back then in uni. We're not even Americans, but seeing a black man contest in a Western country, especially the most powerful country in world, gave all of us hope - in the aspect of aiming higher than the sky. We followed his campaign and the election religiously. From watching Wolf Blitzer daily, to Anderson Cooper, to O'reilly factor, to Rachel Maddow's show, to Keith Olbermann's show, to everything on ABC. Heck, I bought his books: Dreams from my Father, and The Audacity of Hope.

These times, I get back from Uni everyday searching the web for what Roland Martin, Melissa Harris-Perry, Marc Lamont Hill and etc.have to say. And on the election night in 2008, it was a vigil - we were drinking all night, watching the projection on CNN. I'll never forget how Roland Martin was crying live on CNN, when Obama won. Heck, two of my boys also cried. And just seeing African Americans - young and old - shedding tears of joy touched me somewhere in Birmingham, UK. So, I'll never forget that, and how that moment inspired me to start aiming for the moon. He has let everyone down...but his election victory changed my life forever, and I'll forever be grateful to Barack Hussein Obama for what he added to my life in 2008. And 2008 was the year I started a complete turn-around in my lifegrin
Africans!

We are the emotional ones.

Never seeking to get to the root of anything before celebrating or crying.

Even if the celebration will last just a moment.

Even when Barack Hussein Obama was not properly vetted by the ever powerful American media due to his skin colour.

Even if he was the "padded" to the position because of 'positive discrimination'.

How do you get motivated by such antecedent?

How would anyone not anticipate the 'let down'?

Are you happy the way the world is now?

Mbediogu: Was his death going to be pasted on anybody or group other than BH? The same BH that has killed or kidnapped people whose potential far surpass any achievement of the revered General. Do all Nigerians love and respect him? Why have they continued to deny him?
Is Nigeria that fragile to degenerate because of death of one man? I thank God he did not die but has he been a force for unity of Nigeria? Talk of assassinated Generals like Ironsi, Murtala and Bisalla yet Nigeria stands. What about are fathers that we wasted or frustrated till death? People like Sardauna, Akintola, Balewa, Okigbo, OJUKWU, Nzeogwu and others. On the contrary I think that if the worst had happened to Buhari (thank ALLAH it did not) more people would have been rejoicing atleast in private - than would have been found crying in the streets,
God bless you!

They tend to over hype the importance of Buhari as they always do with his rank. The way they hype that 'General' thing one would think he was a Field Marshall back in the army. Same people will refer to T.Y. Danjuma rightly as Lt. General, but must always hype Buhari like he was more than Major General.

Everyone is talking of Nigeria's Armageddon as if Nigeria is owned by Buhari. Worst case is that people like El-Rufai would be warlords in Zaria.

Nigeria will outlive Buhari.
Politics › Re: So, General Buhari Tried To Kill Himself? by porka: 8:34pm On Jul 28, 2014
So, someone in this Nigeria can write an article so skewed and still want to be taken seriously.

When Nasir El-Rufai suggested that President Jonathan was behind the 'assassination' plot on Rtd Major General Muhammadu Buhari, this clownish looking fellow didn't write any article condemning the nonsense.

When they butchered an RCCG clergyman, this modern day 'consensus builder' didn't find his voice.

Not until his 'General' was visibly rattled by those he (the so-called General) had previously told us were driven by hunger, poverty and injustice, did he found his computer keyboard in Berlin to write rubbish.

It doesn't even matter to this attention seeker that scores of Nigerians died in that attack on Buhari. All that counts for Omojuwa is the life of his 'General'.

If there is anyone to direct any missive at, especially because of that unfortunate tragedy, is it not Buhari himself who was clamouring an amnesty programme for Boko Haram who have carried out mass murder of innocent Nigerians?

Is it not time to tell Buhari to stop supporting Boko Haram?

The report has not been uploaded on their website.

The report can only be found in Nigerian newspapers.

It's important to point this out before we hear another story from the World Bank (WB).

Nevertheless, the following are what we already know about the Nigerian economy.

THE ROSY PICTURE

a) Majority of Nigerians are not living below $1/day.

We know because $1 is about N160. Majority of Nigerians are living far above that already.

The least "recharge card" denomination is N100.

Add food and other stuffs.

b) The booming housing sector in Nigeria tells an entirely different stories from the poverty narrative.

When you enter any city, town or village in Nigeria, look out for entirely brand new sites on the entrance and on your going out.

These are happening in spite of the near zero mortgage system.

BTW, Aliko Dangote made his over $20b on the back of that.

c) The middle class is rising.

The number of people buying cars of more than N1m value is increasing, again, in spite of near zero car loan facilities by the financial institutions.

The number of people enrolling their children in private schools both in the country and abroad is rising.

The number of people going abroad for vacations is increasing. Ask the airlines and the hotels.

d) Foreign and locally financed shopping malls are springing up every time.

From the Palms, to Ikeja Mall to Next etc.

THE NOT TOO ROSY

1) Unemployment.

The general atmosphere of unemployment affects GRADUATES more.

The white collar job seekers are hard hit.

Artisans and vocational employment are witnessing a boom however.

Tilers, carpenters, tailors, mechanics, events planners, make-up artists, musicians, actors (Nollywood) are not doing badly.

2) Electricity generation and supply to businesses and homes remain abysmal.

The recent privatisation of the sector has not improved anything.

Some places are witnessing seasonal stability, i.e. stable supply in the rainy season.

The DISCOs are not serious about deploying smart meters to their consumers.

3) Security situation is dire.

Boko Haram remains the biggest security challenge to our collective existence as a country.

The defeat of this murderous Islamists should be the biggest goal of our government at this point.

Perhaps this is one good thing that Boko Haram has done for Nigeria, as it would allow you to know who your neighbour is.

There are other more important things to ban in Nigeria such as Boko Haram, corruption and certificate forgery.
As exposed and traveled as you advertised, you don't bother to check whether those countries operate on any legal documents.

You don't seem to know whether countries have set of rules and regulations guiding their conduct.
