Ferdinandu: Jobless policemen. The law is against same sex marriage and anything other than that they are just wasting our money for just being idle.If it is Armed robbers now or Boko Haram they will run faster than Hussein Bolt.Arresting Gay People for just being Gay is just Discrimination, after-all their lifestyle is not disturbing any other person's Life.Though Homo Sexuality is morally wrong according to our two main religion but Constitutionally we are regarded as a secular state so I don't know the reason why things which should be a religious issue should be such a big issue. For Pete'sake we have too much problem in this country to be worrying about bunch of abnormal human beings who does not want to live their life the way God said they should do it.Somebody whose house is burning can't be pursuing rat .
No, you better be guided.

14 year jail term awaits any homosexual in Nigeria.

It's called Sodomy.

Death by stoning awaits any homosexual caught in Northern Nigeria practicing sharia.

The law is already there.

So you won't go and mess your life up.

The one you might be referring to has not become law yet.

It has just passed in the House of Representatives.

They will harmonize with the one passed earlier by the Senate.

Then it will be presented to the president for assent.

Then it'll become an offense in Nigeria for homosexuals to marry.

You can relocate to any of those countries where they accept your behaviour.

Don't test our resolve.

You are deceiving yourself.

There's a 14 year jail term for SODOMY in Nigeria.

It is death in Northern Nigerian Sharia Compliant States.

pazienza: I think you are the one that is being blinded by your bigotry.
The guy never implied that being against gay discrimination would lead to the end of black discrimination, but he rightly put it to you that it would be hypocritical to be against black discrimination while on the other hand supporting the discrimination of another group.

The relationship between racism and gay discrimination?

1, both stems from inability to understand and tolerant a 'difference'.
Your open-mindedness endangers the existence of humanity.

Black is a race.

Homosexuality is a degenerate behaviour.

It's not even a tribe or ethnic group like being Jewish for instance.

That's the difference that cannot be tolerated.

dare2think: You are letting your hatred for the group becloud your objectivity. Double standard is when you are being discriminated by your oppressor, yet you join the oppressor in discriminating another group. Follow that logic.
Ok, from your Logic 101

It's safe to say that you are letting your avowed love for homosexuals (and homosexuality) inform your rationality.

That because you are tolerant of this behaviour (or group as you call them), your oppressor will somehow cease their discrimination of your group. That's daydreaming at best and delusion at worst.

The idea that you are even comparing a race with a degenerate behaviour is very offensive.

It is an insult.

dare2think: Germany,France, USA and United Kingdom are not the subject matter here. When a thread is opened regarding their views on homosexuality, then we can debate on the issue.

Identifying with a nation that discriminates your color and your kind, but celebrate when they discriminate another group is nothing short of madness and ignorance.
1) No, they are not.

DOUBLE STANDARD is.

DISCRIMINATION is.

And you raised both issues, check.

Just following your logic actually.

2) So what is conveniently ignoring to talk about nations that discriminate against your race and kind because they are simply tolerant of another group?

It's SLAVERY, and it's worse than ignorance and any form of madness.

dare2think: As much as the subject of Gay acceptance is very subjective, I do not think that we ,as Nigerians, should be celebrating discrimination, especially coming from one of the most racist nations on earth.

I hope those of you praising and congratulating Russia on this move are also celebrating Russia's discrimination and resentment of black people in their country. Several Nigerians and ethnic minorities are butchered yearly because Russians are less tolerable of foreigners just as they are less tolerable of Gays.

As much as we may not accept the lifestyles of the Gay community, we must not celebrate their discrimination either. Especially as our race has been one of the most discriminated race in history, a testament that is still very poignant in current times.

Russia's discrimination should not be celebrated regardless of race, gender or orientation. If you feel otherwise, then you must accept the discrimination of the other groups and avoid double standards.
Meanwhile you own double standard is not hidden here as well.

Black people are routinely killed in America and the UK but you chose to ignore that simply because they share your view on homosexuality, i.e. anti-discrimination.

Black people are racially profiled and not properly integrated into the system despite centuries of living in those countries.

Germany and France discriminate against blacks as well, yet you didn't mention them in your 'racist nations on earth'. You would have come across as a very anti-discrimination hero had you not conveniently omitted naming the other 'racist nations earth'.

And no, identifying with a nation that share your view on a particular issue is not celebration of discrimination.

Nigeria (people and government) is against homosexuality, Russia (people and government) is against homosexuality, what's wrong with showing affiliation?

Am very sure the whole world knows which group russia falls into. The country is reputed as a home to some of the most ruthless tyrants in mankinds history. Certainly this is not a model Nigeria wants to follow. Gays are here to stay. They re our brothers, sisters, friends, relatives and even parents. There's no law anyone can pass to change that. blackpanda: Then following ur analogy, how come more people are migrating to france and germany than russia. Obviously ur assumptions are baseless. Russia is one of the worst countries in terms of per capita income. The only thing they have is nuclear power, that's all

In terms of places for humans to live on this planet, russia is one of the worst. With no regards whatsoever for human rights, a long history of ruthless and tyranical govts and continous suppression of any form of opposition or dissenting views. Heck, nobody wakes up in the morning and prays to find him/herself in russia! Now, america on the other hand is the most sought after places, not jst to visit but to migrate. An american visa is worth more than a million russian visas
No, that's not all.

Google 'gas reserve' and see what they have.

Also, google Gas supplies to Europe and see something else.

You don't have an idea of what you are talking about.

America's human rights record is falling, they can now kill Americans routinely just on mere suspicion of terrorism, and the killing can be anywhere.

It's happening, they have already whacked Anwar Al-Awlaki and some others including a child.

It means, when subjected to what other countries have been subjected to over centuries, i.e. internal violent strives and intolerant ideology, which America had been insulated from, that America will be just like any other tyrannical state.

They are already monitoring all your communication, it means you cannot just be free any more, it's no longer the FREE WORLD capital, it's now a police state, yes like Russia.

Journalists are not insulated from prosecution anymore. They are being hounded left-right-centre for doing their jobs.

Times are changing my brother, many people are renouncing their American citizenship too.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/05/08/67-people-renounced-their-us-citizenship-in-1st-quarter-year-irs-says/

And as economic freedoms that people are seeking become rare as a result of heavy tax burden, many will seek fortunes in many of the developing and frontier markets of the world.

As America continues to insult people's sensibility and irritating people (even their allies like Nigeria and many African countries) by forcing their homosexual ideology on the rest of the world (as if slave-trade is still on), it will become less attractive even to entitlement seekers from the less developed countries.

As good governance is deeply rooted in many countries, opportunities will be presented for citizens to live a good life.

b) The ascendancy of Ms Susan Rice to the powerful position of Obama's NSA

It's quite disappointing that the vibrant Nigeria media cannot raise these issues with the Americans all this while.

This is the time for nigerians at all level, across party divides, whether PDP or ACN or APC and also intellectuals, should sit down, think and really invest our proceeds from this high oil prices, into developing the development of infrastructure. Particularly, POWER, SEAPORTS, ROADS and RAILS.

However the good news for us is, in 2012 oil accounted for 69% of total government revenue. That's a nice way to start. Of main aim is to push that number down to 50% in 2years, while we maintain our oil out-put at 2.7-3 million barrels a day.

Our strong points at the moment are: financial sector
:telecoms sector
:ICT sector
: agricultural sector.
: mining

these 5 sectors should be our main aim in developing lasting structures and over all growth. These are the sectors were the future of nigerian finances really lay.

The largest consumers of nigerian crude production should be the nigerian people. We are 170million for christ sakes.

Others are;

Gas

Entertainment

Tourism

Education
