sac010: Drugs kill people and make them sick. Being gay alone is not known to be the cause of death or illness (please lets leave the HIV debate out of this. Straight people get STDs too). This is BS. Majority in the Western nations have trampled on the rights of the minority for millennial. Polygamy is outlawed in most of the Western nations. I n c e s t is outlawed. Pedophilia is outlawed. Only a few countries have so far legalized homosexual marriage. |
sac010: Drugs kill people and make them sick. Being gay alone is not known to be the cause of death or illness (please lets leave the HIV debate out of this. Straight people get STDs too).Ok sir, read through. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/13/brett-shaad-meningitis_n_3076355.html Enjoy. |
goyston: Okay. Why is this relevant? Why would allowing gays to marry result in people marrying their son or daughter?Yeah, because that's the next stage of human perversion. The perverts who started homosexuality acceptance, de-criminalization and now legalization will move on to i n c e s t. Just as they've started doing for Pedophilia. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/academic-conference-seeks-to-normalize-pedophilia/ http://b4uact.org/science/symp/2011/index.htm http://b4uact.org/index.htm That's why it's relevant my friend. |
goyston: No because this is abuse - a child cannot be married because they are too young for this type of decision, so they must be protected by the law. Why is it your business what two adults want to do? Who is this protecting?Read my post very well before you comment. A father and daughter could be adult. Google to find several of this relationships all over the world. Mother and son, father and daughter. You are disingenuously putting child in it. |
Amaaskia: Misplaced priority. You have to enjoy whatever you want to enjoy outside Nigeria. It's your life. You can't enjoy any of such things here. It's against our laws. |
vowiski: Rep approves, I doubt the President will accent to it.. So it is not a LAW.Continue in your doubt. |
goyston: Tell them that most men love women, and most women love men. But that there are some men that love men, and some women love women, and this is okay too - it's the same.Just stay where you are practice what you want to practice and not step Nigeria. It is against our laws to practice such nonsense here. It is not your business how we regulate our lives here. The whole of the West currently imprison father and daughter caught having sexual relationship, if they come back tomorrow and tell us to be "progressive" like you are saying, should be jump up and join them as well? We have our culture, we don't take such nonsense. Period! |
Alfa Seltzer: Too late. The world has gone far too gay for Nigeria to do anything about it. Wait till they start giving state banquet and reception to foreign gay presidents and dignitaries. Na so arab people misbehave with anti-women law and US sent them a female secretary of state, Madeleine Albright. See their people they look them for TV dey bow for Madeleine, dey throw red carpet for her, dey salute her. That world includes France where riots and violent demonstrations have broken out in the past days right? Does it also include Britain where opponents of homosexual marriage have sponsored a counter bill to allow civil union for heterosexual couples? Madeleine Albright or not, the West cannot do without Arabs' oil. They can intimidate Malawi and some poor African countries but not Nigeria. BTW, that provision for public and amorous homosexual ban as contained in the bill should be expunged from the harmonized bill. It runs against an existing law banning homosexuality in Nigeria. It's like legalizing homosexuality in Nigeria through the back door. |
Bravo to Governor Fashola and his team. This is commendable. One thing our politicians should emulate in the military projects is expansiveness. It's worrying for instance that this bridge is only four-lane. Imagine that the Third Mainland Bridge commissioned in the 1990s is eight-lane. It cuts across all states in Nigeria, politicians only built small/tiny infrastructure only for the population to increase rapidly and render them inadequate. Bravo though. |
Akpan107: Ameachi can never be the President's problem! Since the president's boys are taking care of him... 2015, is either GEJ or no Nigeria!!! Take Note: it's not a threat but a FACT or a PROMISE if you like. Boko whatever is a child-play to compare what our boys are prepering come 2015. Peace is better than war, but sometimes we need to go to war to get peace!Well, maybe you should take things easy. If you check the history of Nigeria, no one has held Nigeria hostage. No one, not a single person. No single individual's ambition has overridden the collective interest of Nigeria. This kind of language is repulsive. The president remains popular up-til this moment, but Nigeria is bigger than anyone. The 2015 elections will be held, won and lost, and Nigeria will remain. Just so you should align facts with your expectations. |
Dike Chimezie: Fashakin is both a loosed and empty cannon.Medieval era |
mikeansy: There is a general misconception of Amaechi's leadershipWell said my brother. And the greatest victims are the various projects and quality governance because of this needless distraction. |
Demdem: Excellent development from the killer party. One thing that is certain is the dwindling number of supporters for the retardeen even from his region. Though small now but gradually growing. You have just revealed the plan you have for this supposed ally of yours. Imagine writing this in public of a guy you are trying to court in your aspiration of getting to the centre. What does this say about the treachery that has characterized your politics since 1999? I am sure Amaechi will be seeing his own foolishness now. Just a sacrificial lamb for some people to achieve their hunger/thirst for power at the centre? |
bayode1979: The greatest disaster and mistake that ever happen to Nigeria and Nigerians is the emergence of this accidental president called Jonathan. Nothing practically is happening in Nigeria, his cluelessness is a ridicule to Nigeria and now he is almost suffocating and instead of him to face his business and solve myriad of national problems he was just engulfed with mundane politics and mess around with state politics and the main reason is very clear. Jonathan knows the end of his regime as come and he is just fight the last battle. GEJ regime is awaiting the final burial, this clueless man is irritating Nigeria with his lack of capacity.Which Nigeria are you talking about? |
Jongrac: With this, the whole now understands that Nigeria still lack democratic governance....zero tolerance for opposing views, how can a president resort to street fighting, where are his advisers? Truthfully, GEJ has lost every respect he has in the eyes of Nigerians...a desperate man never makes a good leader. You are still mentioning Obama when talking about tolerance for opposing views? Mr Man, where have you been? Don't you listen to news or read papers? Obama that unleashed the IRS on his opponents (Tea Party) to muzzle them in 2012. Please let him go anywhere he wants to go and leave Nigeria alone. |
tynomex: It baffles me the way Acn and Apc supporters view and play party politics, let me draw ur minds back to what happend 2011 in Acn wen Governor Fashola had issues with tinubu,Tinubu trreatend Not to endorsed Fashola And removed his deputy for that election. After Fashola beg and prostrated,Tinubu gave his endorsement.Question? Was this not party politics and show of might even though him [Tinubu] is not a nigeria president? but he acted in the capacity of a presido in his party. The romance btw Ameachi and the opposition governors if it was in Acn,they will not only suspend but expel the Governor frm the party. It's part of their inconsistencies. They have many. Don't mind them. Bro Fash even went with Daddy G.O. to beg the Olori Oko. |
And some people say that it is a DEMOCRAT that is the President and head of PDP. "Nigeria, 2015 is around the corner please vote GEJ and not PDP." This time I wonder what he will say he is lacking, since he is SHOEFUL now.
PDP is the only democratic party in Nigeria. It has no owner like the other parties. Tell me any of the governors in other parties that can take-on their party (owners) like this. |
pro01: This fool should stop ranting and DECAMP to APC already! If the PDP doesn't want you, what's the point of constituting yourself into a nuisance? That would be foolish of him. There's no party called APC yet. |
Eko Ile: Not according to the Lagos state government. You can not set up shop in Lagos without paying something to the state even plus employee parole tax..You mean levies not taxes, they are different. Lagos State does not have a separate laws on Corporate Taxes different from the rest of Nigeria. Yes, PAYE is a revenue to the state where the staff reside. |

God bless you sir. |
PapaBrowne: A more intelligent way to look at this NGF elections is to ask questions about its merits and implications.Nice analysis. Head or tail, PDP wins landslide. General election is not an electoral college like the House of Representatives elections or the Governor's Forum Election. Two South West states have elections in 2014, the outcome will have impact on the opposition's permutations, one of the two might go PDP. Nassarawa is a PDP state. It went CPC in 2011 as a result of grave political error similar to Kogi in 2003. It won't repeat itself. Funding is key, there seems no way the opposition can withstand the war-chest of the PDP, even if they empty the Lagos State treasury. Perhaps, it may be the reason they want to include Rivers State too, but then, it's a drop in the ocean. The business community is loving the reforms already, any change will bring alteration however slightly. Some sections of the media (media has been an arm of the opposition) are trying to be independent. Nigeria's media has largely been free but has never been independent. At least Channels TV is trying to be. The monopoly of the opposition in the blogosphere is being broken. The intellectual arm of the PDP is being emboldened; young and old lawyers, doctors, academics, artists, architects, bankers etc. There are some political fruits that the PDP can boast no matter how you look at it; railway rejuvenation, power sector improvement (privatization), Boko Haram's imminent disgrace and routing, passable roads (patching by FERMA), take-off of additional Federal Universities (against heavy-handed administration of tuition fees in state controlled ones) Some extraneous factors also will play, vis; People's justifiable fear of the intention of the opposition - swimming against the tide in the declaration of state of emergency in three states, call to arms in the event of loss, inability to condemn the killings and bombings in the North by the opposition leaders and blaming them on the government etc. Opposition's own distrust of each other, power-play, backstabbing, dominance by a particular interest, mismanagement of sensitive issues such as religion etc. PDP's entrenched and wide spread influence across the country, they are just everywhere. And, good luck. Your last paragraph is not going to happen though. You can look at the states being managed by the opposition right now for a clue. None has an autonomy for the LG that you want to see. Neither Ameachi's nor Akpabio/Jang's camp has any LG autonomy agenda. They are solidly united in emasculating the LG. |
Elgaxton: There's a serious technical fault somewhere I believeIt's possible my brother. Or some upgrade somewhere. But then, it's a shame that there's no communication whatsoever. Leaving the people in darkness without a word, that is the tragedy there. People would have prepare psychologically and otherwise. There should be accountability for this mess. Someone must be fired. |
yeboyes: Why are other African countries with less revenue building these massive projects but we Nigerians just can't do it for our people?? Are we saying that these people are intellectually superior to us in all aspectsOga, there's something called budget. It contains receipt and expenditure of funds. Maybe you should take a look at that for your answer. |
playmode: And they say we in diaspora must come back.Come back come do wetinYeah! Stay where you are please. We've forgotten you left, please don't remind us of you. Thank you. |
all4naija: Nigeria is a backward sh*t. That is a complete fact. Now, something must be done to make things work. You just relaxed and complaining without doing anything will not find solutions. It is time the leaders and corrupt citizens are made to understand how a functioning society looks like and be brought to book. You sound so bitter. The use of that country shows you are outside the country. Isn't it because of the sh*t that you ran away to enjoy unhindered access to electricity? Why are you now so concerned about the sh*t country? Why not enjoy your infrastructure in your host country? If you know the solutions why did you run away? You can come back home and contribute your token. |
tunapawizzy: i love my south west govs,,,,,na only mimiko be d idiottttBecause he exercised his freedom to choose? Your so-called SW governors also voted a PDP governor Oga! |
OdionOdion: A fly that follow corps to grave will be buried with the Corps. I fear for Amaechi, how will being the NGF Chairman save him from the current political crisis in Rivers State,His blatant disregard for President GEJ,this war he declared on the PDP echelons and fellows Governors.Amaechi ambition is scaring me,and looks a deadly adventure. Watch it,if by 2015 Amaechi intact to celebrate anything in his political career, then I will envy, right NOW Ameachi can ONLY survive PDP,remaining will costly and deadly for his political career. On the contrary, he's now stronger than a week ago. His defeat would have marked the end of his political career vis-a-vis his hometrouble, now that's history. He now has a leverage to negotiate the trouble away. It depends on how he manages it. He can ride on this success and get himself back to reckoning or fritters the opportunity. Plus, there's no disregard for the president in anyway. Yes, there are perceived political differences due to their individual ambitions, but that's politics and not a blatant disregard for Mr. President as you stated. |
These fourteen governors should let go. They were routed simple. You don't call for election of this type if you don't have the numbers. They should have insisted that the guy step down. It's an election, comon! Perhaps they just want to show that Amaechi will not have a united NGF this time. Maybe, maybe not. All depends on the rapport he's gonna have with the president. |
Eko Ile: I'm no fan of Mimiko, but one think I do respect in creativity and vision.1) Mimiko is a master-strategist and a first-class performer but OKFTZ predates his administration. 2) Corporate taxes goes to the Federation Account. |

redsun: There was functional system that the british met.A system that was functional and harmonious.A system with morals and objectives. With human intellectuals and ingenuites.Unlike the present day nigeria. There was doubt that they met a system. That the systems were with morals is debatable. There were indiscriminate killings of human beings to appease the so-called gods. There were rampant snatching of other people's property and wives also. These are not moral systems in any way. |
shymexx: Boi, ACN just shot itself in the foot by failing to play the right political card. The same Nigerians descended forcefully on President Jonathan when he made some unthoughtful remarks about MEND when Abuja was bombed. And there's absolutely nothing interesting in what Mr. Lai Mohammed said here. It only showed that they were caught unprepared for the masterstroke of the declaration, i.e. that the president left the political offices intact contrary to their expectations. Perhaps they prepared their response based on their intelligence report that those states elected officials would be removed, but the president was smarter than them, and he has shown with this that he's a civilian president responding to an armed insurrection within the country. In that case, they should have kept quiet and watch how things unfold. If the presidential election was conducted this week, Mr. Jonathan would have won with an overwhelming majority. |
