CareerRe: Difference Between Busy And Productive by pressplay411(m): 7:43am On Dec 23, 2018
Onyemadonald:
Productivity is not measured by how many tasks you accomplished from your to-do list. It is measured by the progress you make on important outcomes.

It is very easy to be busy doing all kinds of things that make no difference to the task you are trying to accomplish. You can agree to do all kinds of work and undertake projects that consume your time and energy but, while interesting, you are doing nothing to move your major projects or goals.

NARROW YOUR FOCUS
For you to be productive is about narrowing your focus. It’s about having priorities. It means that you carefully highlight what is very important thereby terminating things that are not worth Investing your time and energy on. It’s not honourable to be busy, no matter how many tasks you accomplish in a day. A day is said to be successful when you make major progress on what is most important.

If you are struggling with this idea, you can use a time journal to take a measurement and make adjustments. You can Start by jotting down everything you do from the time you wake up until when you go to bed. Make this a daily routine for three or four days, and be completely honest with yourself.

That means writing down that you spent 20 minutes of your time on bed looking at social media on your mobile device, that you spent an hour on the phone with someone else's issues, and that you spent just over two hours chatting. Maybe you also spent forty-five minutes on your most important issues.

RAISE YOUR STANDARD
By taking a look at what you really do and how little of it is related to what you want to accomplish. You create the awareness that always bring about a positive change. That positive change expects you to raise your standard, that you make a decision and act on the idea that you are going to prioritize the most important things instead of what makes you busy.

If the things you are doing is not moving you closer to your aims, then stop doing them and do something totally different. It makes no sense to be so busy and you are not productive.

Are you a Christian?
What makes you think you are one?
A Christian isn't necessarily the one to tell you he's a Christian. People identify them as Christians by their way and by their fruit.
To answer your question, I am a disciple (student, follower, understudy) of Christ.
And that is what Christ calls us to be.
The word disciple is all over the new testament.
Only thrice was the word Christian mentioned.

It is a very little and subtle observation but a very wide dichotomy that has limited the spiritual growth and maturity of believers as only very few believers have the consciousness of being a disciple first before becoming Christians.

Peace, Grace, and Wisdom to us all.
IslamRe: Was Islam Created For Christianity As A Counter by pressplay411(m): 4:48am On Dec 23, 2018
Christianity came through the promised child of Abraham- Isaac.
Islam came through the illegitimate child of Abraham- Ishmael.

The impatience of Abraham and Sarah created Islam.
However, God's is so merciful and loving, He forgave Abraham and Sarah and still blessed both Isaac and Ishmael.
Everything is scriptural.

Man has always been his own problem.
If only we would only listen and obey God patiently, we will not keep creating and compounding our own problems.

I can't go in depth. It could get quite confusing and misconstrued.

We have so many "Christians" in the church but very few Disciples of Christ.
A Christian is the end-product of a disciple.

On this note, it is instructive to note that the disciples were only called Christians when people saw Christ in them. When they were like Christ.

A Christian is a believer who has become like Christ.
We often think it's impossible, but the disciples became like Christ including so many believers over time in history and notable people even in our time.

Unfortunately most "Christians" have never heard of being a disciple.

while growing up as a catholic Christian, our parish priest gave a sermon about "comfort and luxury he said "what believers in christ need is just comfort and not luxury " . I noticed most unbelievers and people who would be termed sinners enjoy both comfort and luxury while we bask in utter discomfort
Godliness is not against comfort and luxury.
You must first go through affliction (corrections) first the length of which ia depending on how willingly you submit and learn.
But your soul but be proportionally prosperous. 3John 1:2
The problem is we always want prosperity first while our soul is not yet prospering. Our souls prosper as we grow

This is the issue I have with some prosperity preachers. The gospel is first for salvation before prosperity. 1 Timothy 6:5
Our heroes of faith were very prosperous. Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, David, Esther, etc to mention few. In fact there's no one that has been as prosperous as Job and Solomon according to the scriptures.
Looking at the disciples it seems they were not prosperous. Until you realise most of their wealth was later in the gospel and it was mostly used for kingdom purposes, to further the gospel and for charity.

God is not anti-prosperity. He has given is the power to make wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18
But primarily he wants your soul to be saved and prosperous first. He wants you to bear the Fruit of the Spirit and live in perpetual Love and Peace. Cos if this is not first taken care of the luxury and wealth would destroy the person.

Title: Overcoming By The Power Of Knowledge

Key Verse:
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

Definitions:
Know:
To perceive the truth or factuality of; to be certain of or that.
To be aware of; to be cognizant of.
To be acquainted or familiar with; to have encountered.
To experience.
To distinguish, to discern, particularly by contrast or comparison; to recognize the nature of.

Truth:
Conformity to fact or reality; correctness, accuracy.
That which is real, in a deeper sense; spiritual or ‘genuine’ reality.

Free:
Thrown open, or made accessible, to all; to be enjoyed without limitations; unrestricted; not obstructed, engrossed, or appropriated; open; said of a thing to be possessed or enjoyed.

The Message:
Knowledge they say is power.
We are victims or victors as a result of what we know.
The difference between a winner and a loser is simply what we know.
The difference between a believer and an unbeliever is also what we know.
A doctor is a doctor by virtue of his medical knowledge and expertise.
A lawyer like wise, and a programmer, an entertainer, an athlete, an entrepreneur as well as a pastor.
We are all who we become simply by virtue of what we know.

It is important to remind us that we are all struggling with sin today because of knowledge.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil. Genesis 2:17

Thank God for His Grace that brought us back through the Knowledge of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Saviour and Redeemer. John 17:3

There are factors that determine the Power of our Knowledge, viz;

Access: Do we even know the truth?
Validity- Is our knowledge true or false?
(Un)belief- Do we truly believe it?
Conviction- Have we experienced it to be certain?
Doubt- Are there times we are unsure of it?
Fear- Are we fearful of applying our knowledge?

Every form of suffering today is as a result of our knowledge of the solution.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4:6

Sometimes I imagine God looking at us,
Saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
Luke 19:42

Unbelievers are not supposed to need much evangelism before they are converted to Christianity, because of this Divine Inheritance God has called us into. We are meant to be the Light of the World and Salt of the Earth. We should me doing great things individually and as a Body of Christ.

Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who *know* their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Daniel 11:32

But is this true about us?
Nigeria probably has the most population of Christians in the world, yet, we are rated among the most (fantastically) corrupt, most impoverished nations of the world.
How is this possible?
May God forgive and help us all.
We clearly need more and true knowledge of our God.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27
This is our Promise, this is our calling, this is our blessing as Christians. I pray it shall be our portion and testimony in Jesus name.

I have come to realise that we have been the ones limiting the manifestation of God's glory.
The condition to behold all these Promises is to be transformed by Love.
We must have been transformed by God's Love to be Humble, Liberal (Generous) and Selfless in Helping others, genuinely respecting and loving one another.
And as we choose to yield to God's will, God's loving nature, God's commands, we will truly be willing to submit our present way of living and doing things for the way God wants us to live.

Paul the Apostle was excellent as a Jew, yet for the knowledge of Christ, he saw all he had as a loss. He was willing to submit all he thought he was, all he had accomplished for the knowledge of Christ.

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; *that I may know Him* and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:7-10

He further confirms the power and efficacy and certainty of this in His letter to the Ephesians.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19

God is a just and faithful God.
He does not reduce or increase his standard for anyone. The measure of time and sacrifice we give to know Him, is the measure He reveals to us. If we seek Him more, we will see more of Him manifesting in our lives.

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

If we sacrifice more, He gives us much more.
Interestingly He gives us much more than we give to Him. Give him a seed, and you harvest a tree.

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6

I conclude with this final charge.
How many of us are pursuing the knowledge of Christ?
How many are even trying to be like Christ?
How many are willing to change?
How many of us are willing to drop who we have come to believe we are, and change to become who God wants us to be?
How many are willing to do whatever God requires us to do, even if it's not in our comfort zone, not our usual nature? Even if it means doing what scares us?

This is when we can boldly speak as the apostle John did about these Word of God we hear and study every day. It is what separates us from ordinary head knowledge.
It comes from experiential knowledge.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life
1 John 1:1

Closing Verse:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6

May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the Communion of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and for ever.
Amen.

I've come to realise Daddy Freeze is instrumental to the church.
Before he launched his attack on men of God, the gospel was becoming a gospel of prosperity rather than Salvation in Christ. 1 Timothy 6:5
He might have been out of God's will but he fulfilled a purpose God needed to be fulfilled.
He restored some sanity back into the Body of Christ, locally and globally.

However, he now needs to find true salvation by truly, genuinely and humbly seeking forgiveness for touching (insulting and condemning) God's anointed servants.

This is probably going to be the hardest thing for him, as Pride and Ego are the weapons the enemy always uses to keep people from salvation.

May He obtain favour and mercy in the face of God.
That said, tithing is scriptural and important. However salvation is importanter. Matthew 23-23
Salvation from sin and bondage of pride, lies, self-centeredness, fears, bitterness, depressions, sickness, poverty, evil habits and attitudes and every form of darkness.

The Mind Of Christ

Introduction:
The human being (Adam) is created a triune (3 in 1) being just like God, our Creator. Genesis 1:26
God is in three in one, so is Man. 1 John 5:7-8
God- the Father, the Word (Son) and the Holy Spirit.
Man- a Spirit, a Soul (Mind) and a Body.

We were created originally to be on Autopilot with God.
The human mind is in 3 states.

The Conscious Mind
The Unconscious Mind
The Subconscious Mind

We were supposed to operate in the Subconscious of Godliness.
The Word of God was our original Subconscious state. It was written in our Heart. In the Heart of Adam.
We had the Mind of God (Uchechukwu, Uchenna, Ucheoma)
Our Consciousness (sensual knowledge) has become our problem. As we have believed other informations we have been exposed to instead of the Word of God.

Thank God for Jesus Christ, our LORD, Our Redeemer, Our Teacher, Our Saviour.
Once again We have the Mind Of God.
We now have the Mind of Christ as we are baptised into Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16

The more of the Word of God you hear and believe, the less of the world (news, feelings, health, bank account, science etc) you believe.
This is what conquers Unbelief.
This is how Faith Comes. Romans 10:17
And should keep coming until the Word of God becomes your Consciousness.
It becomes your Certainty.
It becomes your only Truth.
That is how renewing and transformation of the mind is achieved. Romans 12:2

Is it easy? No.
Is it possible? Certainly.
With God (through the Holy Spirit), nothing is impossible. Matthew 19:26

May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
The Love of God,
And the Communion of the Holy Spirit,
Be with you and I now and for ever more.
Amen.

I say this because over and over again I've seen so many believers who were broke and committed to serving God but the moment God answered their prayer and they got a financial breakthrough, they had little or no time for God again. And this exposed them to all sorts of crises of what life without Christ is.

It is written.
Two things I request of You
(Deprive me not before I die):
Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me;
Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God.
Proverbs 30:7-9

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19:23-24

Notice He said hard, not impossible. Hence he continued with this comforting words of assurance.

When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:25-26

I have come to realise that prosperity is not the first and primary thing God wants to give us.
The first and primary thing is our Salvation from Sin and Bondage.
The primary thing is to give us Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding as we grow in Love and Fear(reverence) of God.
To deliver us from all our habits, attitudes, fears, ignorance, limitations, etc
The Gospel is to transform us from who we are into who we are meant to be, to be like Christ.
Christ wants to transform us so that we may bear the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23
This is what produces Christ-likeness. And Christlikeness is what attracts favours and all the goodness of life.
Christ-likeness will not only prosper us, it is our prosperity.

Unfortunately, everyone including believers chase prosperity first.
Worst still, the word, Christlikeness scares people, even believers. This is another veil.
Where as prosperity without the fruit of the Spirit (Christ-likeness) is what is destroying people and the society.
People begin to use their wealth for oppression instead of liberation. People become selfish, vain and self-centered instead of generous, loving and kingdom-oriented.
Truly, as much as prosperity is an important part of our blessing in God, God would rather pend it till we can handle it, than release it when He knows it will destroy us.

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (lust for wealth).
Matthew 6:24

Is Poverty a Blessing?

Certainly No.
Poverty is a curse. But a blessing in disguise, just as every challenge a Christian faces is a blessing in disguise. It is all to build our Faith and Trust in God.
Life outside Christ is a cursed realm. It is the "Valley of the shadow of death."
But in Christ, God's presence is our prosperity. Having the Holy spirit working and producing fruit in us is our wealth.
I do not want you to get me wrong, monetary prosperity is part of the blessing but it is only an aspect of the physical evidence of the inner working of an inner prosperity of our soul. 3 John 1:2

But until we are truly saved and mature some financial breakthroughs would struggle with God in our lives and turn us away from Godliness.
1 Timothy 6:10

Our riches and wealth should be in proportion to our spiritual growth and maturity.
Now there's a level of wealth Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Adeboye command now that you and I probably can't handle presently, but even they had to grow into the maturity it demands.
That it would not turn us away from God.

May God deliver us all, individually and as the Body of Christ to pursue who and what we ought to pursue, that we should be able to keep our eyes and focus on God.
In Jesus name.
Amen.

Closing Verses:
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 John 2
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

joseph1013:
It's interesting that two people of (assuming) two different sects of christianity are telling me I'm a potential convert in back to back posts. Thank you, Jesus.

I also thank you sir for your concern.

But I don't think I am a potential catholic convert, but then, I may be wrong.

I saw the two videos. The second one caught my attention. The damsel said she believed morality must be objective, then she found out that Catholicism gave her the best explanation. That's interesting.

You know, it's like someone saying that Buhari must be Jibrin, and then encounters the IPOB crowd who provides him with their own (subjective) evidence. He thereafter thanks his stars and becomes a Biafra warlord.

There is a term for what the two of them did in Cognitive Psychology; Confirmation Bias.

I would think there is a logical reason for her conversion. Something like an actual evidence of the existence of the Catholic God, since some sects in Christianity do not belief Catholics are Christians anyway.

Would you be kind enough to tell me why you are a Catholic?
You are a victim of lust.
You lusted after the worst lust.
The same lust that destroyed Adam and Eve.
Lust for Knowledge.
You ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And you certainly manifest its fruit.
Pride, Self Awareness and Self Centeredness, a Puffed up knowledge and Thinking as Eve also thought, that you are now like God.
And for this, you have suffered the same consequences of Adam and Eve.
You have been rejected from God's Presence.
No matter how hard you try, you can't see God's face again, why? Because a Veil has been placed over your eyes. Cherubs have been placed between you and God's Presence.

I hope you will repent soon enough because you are very aware of the consequence of not being in God's Presence. I'm sure you're well read in the story of King Saul. This is what happens when God withdraws His Spirit from man.

I can't delve deeper.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Is Our Creator? by pressplay411(m):
Maamin:
God created all things through Christ. Does that make Christ the Creator along with the Father? Or should only the Father be called the Creator?

God the Father is certainly the Creator—with Christ as His Agent. Nevertheless, the fact that Christ did the work of all creation makes Christ the Creator as well (unless we would imagine Him as a mere mechanical tool or power with zero thought or input or creativity in what He was given to do—which we do not). Based on Scripture, the Church of God has specifically proclaimed Christ as the Creator along with the Father in its literature going back more than 60 years.

The fact is, God is the Creator—both the Father and Christ, with Christ executing the will of the Father. If Jesus made everything, then He is the Maker (at the Father’s behest). A maker is one who makes. If Jesus is the One who brought everything out of nothing—as He clearly did—then He is the Creator (again, of course, at the Father’s directive, so that they are both Creator). We’ll see more evidence of this as we examine the matter—along with why it’s so important to understand this properly.

“Remember Your Creators”
Jesus is specifically presented in Scripture as Creator along with the Father.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 tells us to remember our Creator while we’re young. But, as many commentaries acknowledge, this verse literally translated says, “Remember also thy Creators . . .” (Young’s Literal Translation). The word here is plural. Some will argue that this is merely a majestic plural for a singular Creator—just as they argue for the plural forms Elohim and Adonai .

However, we understand that these other words refer to an actual plurality that can be used in a singular way (just as “United States” is plural in form but is used with singular verbs, yet with an actual plurality of states being behind the name).

In any case, the actual word used in Ecclesiastes 12:1 is Creators. So the Bible explicitly acknowledges a plurality of Creators, just as it does a plurality of God Beings. There are two Creators, just as there are two who are God—the One who became the Father and the One who became Christ, the latter following the will of the former.

And again, Scripture says that all created things were created through Christ. This means Christ did the creating. If He did not, what would we call what He did? Made? Built? He called things out of nothing into existence (Psalms 33:6). That is creating. And since He did that, He is Creator. Not exclusively or even primarily, of course, because He was following the will of the One who became the Father. Nonetheless, Jesus shared in the role of Creator along with the Father, though in a subordinate position.

Christ an Assembly-Line Worker?
As an analogy to God creating through Christ, the Church has in the past used the illustration of Henry Ford being the creator of the Ford automobile, though using workmen on an assembly line to put the cars together. This is a valid analogy that was meant to show how the Father is Creator without doing the actual work of creation. It was not meant to deny Christ’s role as Creator, as He was referred to as Creator in the same context.

Of course all analogies break down. In this case, the Word who became Christ was not just an assembly-line worker among many assembly-line workers putting various parts of the creation in place. Rather, Jesus made everything that exists except for Himself and the Father! If Ford automobiles and all their parts were all made and put together by one single person, we would probably be inclined to call that person the maker of the Ford automobile along with Henry Ford himself—especially if this person also had input into how the cars were to be made.
I wrote by inspiration on the power of spoken word.
Every word you speak is powerful.
We are products of the words we have confessed into our lives and words people told us and we believed.
This is the reason you will see a 50 year old man still feeling dull because his teacher said so in his primary school.

Now what am I saying. The answer to your thread is comprehensively contained and detailed in Gospel acvording to John chapter 1.

You will come to realise that Jesus Christ is the Spoken Word of God who became Flesh.
Every Word in the scriptures is Jesus Christ.

But only with the Holy Spirit can the Word become Life, Light and Power.
The Word of God (scriptures) is the Wisdom of God, and the Holy Spirit is who gives us the Understanding.

This is why we should silence words we have have believed outside the bible.
I hope to open a thread soon detailing my revelations on this.
More Grace, Wisdom, Understanding and Humility to us all.
Amen.

learn to read & understand before you respond to comments...

the summary of my initial write up is that you cannot determine if things are better by merely looking at price differences of goods.

for instance, pre-1999, net salary for the average middle class private worker was about N15,000 pm. prices of goods & services would conform to the available financial resources at the time, hence a bag of cement was about N350, fuel N11, bag of rice N1,200 etc... but things were tough then...

fast forward to between June 2011 to June 2014, av. middle class salary was about N145,000. fuel N89, rice N9000, cement N1,500 etc, but most people could afford these things to an extent.

today, funds are scarce & prices of goods has increased, if certain financial adjustments are made & your purchasing power increases, you would realise that with rice at N20,000 a bag, you won't really feel the drain on your pocket. it's a matter of relativity & that is what the op should focus on...
Puffed up knowledge. It makes it difficult to admit wrong or take correction. Yet without correction, how can we learn to become better?
You probably have a Masters in Economics right?
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
