FamilyRe: Man Catches Wife Committing Adultery In Jos by PrettySpicey(f): 2:29pm On Jun 14, 2013
To have something and still lust for another is not just greed but the foolishness of the human mind.
He has a wife, yet unsatisfied, he goes after another's man wife, now he not only suffers shame and disgrace but dishonor. And same applies to the woman. But even more so for she has lost the true sense of womanhood.
The desires of our flesh will ruin us if we do not get them under the strictest control.
Christianity EtcRe: What Do U Know About St Anthony of Padua? by PrettySpicey(f): 10:37pm On Jun 13, 2013
I do know that he was born in 1195, died in 1231 at the age of 36. He was particularly devoted to the Infant Jesus and Our Blessed Mother. One day while bearing the Blessed Sacrament to a sick person, he met on his way a man with his donkey (I think) and the animal got on his and bowed before its creator, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
I do know that 12yrs ago thru his powerful intercession my niece, Antoinette, was delivered after a particularly difficult labor.
He is my Patron Saint, and he's been known to help me find stuff I misplaced.
One of the greatest saints ever. He died pure, a virgin and he never uttered a harsh or sinful word.
His holy tongue still lives.
FamilyRe: Who Really Owns A Man, His Mother Or His Wife? by PrettySpicey(f): 10:21pm On Jun 13, 2013
NEITHER. No person belong to another. Mum may have given birth to son but she's just meant to share and guide him through his childhood, teenage years and early adulthood. Then hands him over to wife who is meant to share and compliment his later adult life and old age.
FamilyRe: Advice Needed Urgently! by PrettySpicey(f): 6:00pm On Jun 13, 2013
I think your friend should not go looking to 'borrow' trouble. Her SIL maybe a real 'wahala' person but that don't mean she's about to join the 'flying' sistas.
But since she's worried, here's what she's got to do - PRAY.
Hmmm, Prayer is just the only weapon she's got. And while at it, she could pray too for SIL to turn her life over to God.
Miracles happen when women pray, remember that.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Faith Incompatible With Reason? by PrettySpicey(f): 9:41pm On Jun 08, 2013
Faith is to believe without seeing and even to believe without reason or evidence.
Many events of our Christian Faith are still for the most part inexplicable and beyond the comprehension of the human mind - The Trinity; The creation of the world; Jesus' birth by the power of the Holy Spirit and thru a Virgin; His very crucifixion and death and even too that from Abraham rose two different religions.
Religion comes from God and God is Mystery.
Some He allows us to prove, other things He simply desires that we believe.
Faith and reason, they don't always go hand in hand.
CrimeRe: Daughter Accuses Dad Of Being Intimate With Her by PrettySpicey(f): 2:27pm On Jun 06, 2013
Originalsly: I know there are wicked fathers but I have a hard time believing this story. The girl speaks like an adult...knowing taking the place of her mother means having sex. To her tbat should mean cooking and cleaning or whatever...which again she may not know since she lived with her aunt. Then which girl from village can be spitting all this grammar? She can insult her father, tell her mother but afraid to tell anyone else? Then suddenly get the courage not to tell her classmates nor her teacher but the principal... who dashes off to the police? ... no hospital tests for penetration? I suspect the principal had an affair/beef with the father. Then why would the father offer to buy her a car?...why not a jet as he want to go big? Hmmm...more questions than answers.
Maybe she is just so bright, huh? Maybe the English was polished by the writer? And yes, abusers usually promise 'stuff' to their victims and also they usually beat up and threaten too.
And maybe the Principal saw a crime and thinks - get the Police, he should be locked up.
What is odd is how you can easily come up with so many 'pointless' questions all at once but could not find "instantaneous' compassion/pity for the victim.
Ha!!! What a world we live in. cry cry cry
CrimeRe: Daughter Accuses Dad Of Being Intimate With Her by PrettySpicey(f): 2:12pm On Jun 06, 2013
RuuDie: The "girl" in question is not being honest...there is more to this than meets the eye!
She's not honest because she had the courage to say she's being abused by her father?
How easy for you to stand by the father and not the child!
This here is how this girl is being treated by those around her now - mockery, disbelief, scorn, hate, disgust.
Where is our compassion when we need it most?
I don't know if she is lying but ... She is a child and as adults we all owe her some sort of protection.
CrimeRe: Daughter Accuses Dad Of Being Intimate With Her by PrettySpicey(f): 2:06pm On Jun 06, 2013
rigormortis: the daughter could really be defaming her pops on purpose for punishing her about her relationship with another man, until the story is all clear, anything is possible
But then again, she could be a sexually abused child who has the courage to speak out, have you thought of that?
Always remember, in matters such as this your first responsibility is to the child. If this is true, she has been badly damaged and only through careful nurturing can she be healed.
Let us try a little thoughtfulness before we speak most times.

RomanceRe: The Most Romantic Gift You Have Ever Received?... by PrettySpicey(f): 7:13pm On Jun 03, 2013
I do believe I get romantic gifts almost on a daily basis from Oga hubby - his Sunday special pancakes for breakfast; washing up the clothes I soaked in water while I was unwell; helping out with house chores without thinking anything of it - and also surprise little kisses, hugs and touches.
Like now, being served a hot mug of peppermint tea to calm my cough and sore throat.
Romantic gifts? They are not just once in a lifetime, they come often, in nice little packages. And I truly appreciate them all.
RomanceRe: Friends After Turning Down A Marriage Proposal? by PrettySpicey(f): 6:42pm On Jun 02, 2013
As much as I believe that getting a NO to a marriage proposal does not mean instant enemies, I also do not believe it translates to instant friendship.
When you say NO to a man, you got to be sensitive too. He must have emotions for you running deep and unless he is fickle and unserious, he is going to be hurt and that alone will require time to heal.
When you say NO, make sure you do so gently and as sensitively as possible. And then as much as you want to say - hope we can remain friends - give him the time to get over your rejection and pull himself together.
But if you two remain lovers, then I really think he's on a vengeance mission and this is where I say BEWARE.
Christianity EtcRe: The Importance Of Family Prayer by PrettySpicey(f): 6:18pm On Jun 02, 2013
There is this popular saying while I was growing up - The family that prays together stays together.
Family prayer is most important. It helps bind husband and wife together in love and unity and also unites the entire family as one. Children learn how to pray from seeing and hearing their parents pray.
Family prayer keeps the devil and all agents and weapons of darkness away.
It is that special time when we invite God to be a constant Presence in our family. To be the Head and the King of our family.
It does not mean the absence of tough times but it means grace to stand and overcome tough times.
It does not mean the absence of quarrels and troubles but it prepares us on how to handle every challenge as a Christian family and above all it constantly reminds us we are one and should remain one.
Family prayer is key and should not be toyed with.
Let us not always shy away from the Presence of God. Instead let us enter His presence daily with joy and gladness and above all gratitude.
RomanceRe: My Elder Brother's Fiancée Is In love With Me by PrettySpicey(f): 6:01pm On Jun 02, 2013
Yes your brother's fiancee is truly beautiful but believe me YOU CAN RESIST HER and that is what you are going to do. You know how fast you would run when told a disaster is imminent? Run that fast. You know how you would do anything to avoid a plague? Do all that.
Your 'beautiful' brother's fiancee is TROUBLE ON LEGS. She has no right trying to seduce you. And you have no right allowing yourself to be seduced. Look her in the eye and say a BIG NO.
I don't know about telling your brother yet but run now as fast as your legs can take you. Avoid her like a plague. But above all, make sure you make it clear IT'S NEVER HAPPENING between you two.
You owe your brother love, honor and loyalty. So does she but obviously she's no moral woman.
Do the right thing. And don't say you were coerced into any wrongdoing.
Christianity EtcRe: Are There Things You Cannot Forgive? by PrettySpicey(f): 1:40pm On Jun 02, 2013
Forgiveness is most often a tough call. Yet it is a necessity and a healing process.
N believe me, forgiveness is more for you, the victim, than for the offender.
Being able to forgive makes you feel free and then heals you of the pain/hurt from the offence.
Most often though it is real hard and this where we need God.
Ask God for the grace to forgive. Speak to God concerning your pain and ask Him to teach you to forgive and forget too.

FamilyRe: Letter To My Child - From A Trying To Conceive Husband by PrettySpicey(f): 9:47pm On May 31, 2013
I don't even know who you are ... but this is the most beautiful letter I have ever read. And it made me cry. And I believe that your son/daughter read it too and guess what? He/she is on the way FAST. No child can resist such an amazing father.
We are waiting too ... not as long as you but we wait.
Your child is already on the way. Tell Mummy ... THIS IS HER YEAR. God has released a billion babies ... one or even two are for her.

I believe, I never stop believing. Our hands shall cuddle our bundles of joy.

God bless you for inspiring me and so many others.

You are already the best dad ever. I name you BEST DAD 2013.
FamilyRe: Man Puts Baby In Freezer To Stop Her From Crying by PrettySpicey(f): 3:13pm On May 28, 2013
Can you imagine that!!! shocked shocked shocked
This is exactly why relationships and parenthood is for the very matured in heart and mind.
How self-centered and wicked. He wants the 'freeze' the cry out of the baby.
I'm now sixteen and can have sex does not automatically mean I'm old enough to be a parent ... let us be very careful here.
Thank God the baby is okay and we pray he remains okay forever.
CrimeRe: Lagos Strip Club Collapses by PrettySpicey(f): 11:58pm On May 27, 2013
No real tragedy was averted as this was a warning from God. Unlike Sodon and Gomorrah, they get a warning.
People might live without acknowledging the fact BUT the God of Heaven n Earth still lives.
Let us remember that.

HealthRe: Do You Still Bite Your Fingernails? by PrettySpicey(f): 10:04pm On May 17, 2013
I used to. And sometimes when I'm feeling down and absent-minded I still do.
But you can stop it.
#1 - decide to grow your nails.
#2 - start using nail varnish. Make sure your nails are always varnished.
#3 - be conscious of your biting habits. Realize when you are about to bite them and reprimand yourself immediately.
#4 - Find a nail artist and ask her/him to design your natural nails like once monthly.
#5 - If you bite them, punish yourself.

All in all, it's all about determination wink

@ babyosisi, we all know that every religion has its problems and challenges. Religious Fanatics and Criminals hide under the umbrella of any religion to exhibit their madness n commit their crimes.
To pretend it pertains to only one religion is a clear case of naiveté.
Whether on FP or not, doesn't matter.
These issues are these and we all confront them daily.
Whatever the religion, we are all God's children and we ask Him to be merciful to us.
