This CATEGORICAL declaration came from the decision of the Church Council in Jerusalem. This was in response to some Jewish believers whom were insisting that the non-Jewish believers must follow the Law of Moses.

In Acts 15: 5 the insistence was – “Then some believers who belong to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and REQUIRED TO KEEP THE LAW OF MOSES”

Note that the acceptable means of relating with God at this time was “The Law of Moses”. None of them had the right to decide to go back to anything before the Law. The decision was CLEAR – Christians are not bound by the Law! This is what the Holy Spirit affirmed here. NOTHING else in Scripture and NOWHERE else in Scripture has reversed this.

THEREFORE, tithing, a part of the Law of Moses no longer stands as a compulsory observance for the believer.

Acts 13:38-39 emphasises the fact that the Law could not justify. Only in Christ Jesus is anyone declared right before God. So, the believer’s acceptance by God IS NOT on the basis of what he does – including tithing – but on being “IN CHRIST”. Romans 5:1 says the same – our ‘peace’ with God is not as a result of what we DO. It is as a result of our being in Jesus who alone is ACCEPTABLE to God.

The early disciples and Apostles understood this. That is why you will NEVER FIND a portion of the New Testament epistles that commands tithing. It was no longer required. It was done away with.

There is no longer any COMPULSORY GIVING required of the believer in the new Testament. What we have is this:
“Each of you should give what you have DECIDED in your heart to give, not reluctantly or UNDER COMPULSION, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Anything other than this is an attack on the grace of God who provided Jesus Christ to be our ONLY source of reaching him and being acceptable to him as opposed to depending on what man can do as a means of our being acceptable to him.

The scripture you quoted did not clearly set aside tithing my friend all I see you doing is postulating and asumming by head knowledge, and that is not good.

Was tithing truly a law of Moses?. Because it exited before Moses and God reiterated it in Malachi. 3:10. Also, how did Abraham get to know about tithing?. And who taught him because it was not categorically stated in the bible?. So how did he (Abraham) get to know such a spiritual exercise that was later made a part of the Jewish law and later reinforced by God himself?.

If you go back to my previous post, you will see clearly what I said about tithing.

I want to ask you, just as you cannot categorically say who taught Abraham what tithing is or how to do it because it not stated so in the bible. Or do you know?. So, you cannot categorically say it was set aside. That passage you put up there in no reason enough. You can't bring a blanket passage and say this is it.

Apostle Paul had the right to demand physical needs from the gentiles, but he chose not to. That's not to say he set aside tithing. Now we can say OK, apostle Paul decided not to take anything even though according to him, he has the right to. What will you say about the other apostles? Did they also turn it down?. What apostle Paul did, asumming he was talking about tithe, is in fact totally different from what you're saying, supporting and doing. You're not a priest or are you? So why do you tell people not to pay tithe when their priest has not said so?.

Now, let's look at the scriptures again!.

2 Corinthians 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

8:14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

8:15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

8:16 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

Do you see that there was a general contribution made here for the benefit of the gospel and the brethren, which was encouraged by Paul the apostle?. What these people gave was beyond tithes in the first place. (Acts 5:1 - 5)

When the church sends a missionary to some other place as the Lord directs, where do you think they get the money from?. The apostles were in charge of the welfare of everybody and the spread of the gospel. Until it became too burdensome that they had to delegate men to manage it, isn't it how Stephen came about?. What were the early Christians sharing that brought about conflict among their windows in the first place?. Were did the materials and money come from?. Is that not in agreement with the purpose of God for tithing, which is that there may be meat in my house?. What else are you people searching for about tithing?. Will you talk about tithing when, willingly, the early Christians sold their possessions and brought all the procedes to the church! What will anybody tithe from there?. What happened to Ananias and Sappirah? Can you give the way the early church gave, 100%?. What God is asking from us is just 10% minimum of our procedes and income so that His work can continue, offering is voluntary, and yet we are complaining!. The problem is the priest in charge now, not the principle!

Again, I will say, since both proponents and opponents of this tithe issue base their claims on the scriptures, what will happen to that soul that refuses to pay it after death, and he/she stands before God only to hear God say, hey son, the tithe commandment still stands?. I say, what becomes of that soul, because God calls them thieves and robbers in Mal. 3. Will they still enter heaven?. Note, no body will be justified or enter heaven because of tithing, only faith in Jesus Christ will. But it's possible to go to hell if you have the means to give and yet, refuse to give it. If you then believe in Jesus Christ, wouldn't you keep His commandments, which includes tithing?. That's if you accept the Old Testament contains the words of Jesus. Jesus was the one who called some laws of the Old Testament, laws of Moses, but not all the laws were Moses laws. Some were God's principles. Some of the Moses laws have been set aside but not God's principles. Note the difference!.

Let's ask God to reveal the matter to us personally and not to make general blanket assumption. It could be deadly!.

Giving and tithing are two different things my dear. You said tithing was set aside, and I am asking you to please show me the place in the new testament where tithing was categorically set aside. God is a Father to all true believers, there's actually no room for this arguments, what has God told you?. Can you actually go to God and say, Lord please, I don't understand what your word says about this and that, have you done that first, or are you just postulating?. According to Christianity, not believing in Jesus is a worse sin than murder. Please I implore every sane person to live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.

Christian theology is incoherent to the point of absurdity. You are simply living in denial, but that doesn't matter nor will it ever matter as far as the truth is concerned. At least you know God gave His son to die, right? Why?. so your sins could be forgiven. Well, there is no more arguments. You said it. But the choice is yours. I guess the question is, are you sinless?. That is, can you say, I haven't done anything wrong?. I guess your answer is as good as mine if you're honest, because no man is sinless. (Jerusalem becoming the capital of Israel.) Non of our 21st century professors could have imagined that a decade ago. And then ask how could it be so accurate, how could those old ignorant bronze age men be so accurate?. The eyes that look are many but the eyes that actually see are few. Mind you, God does not force people into hell, rather, people choose to go their by their choices.

Just like you will naturally throw away everything you consider as dirty and useless in your house. But assuming, the stuffs that become dirts actually had the choice of being clean stuffs but chose rather to be dirt, what will you do?. For me, I will be very well justified to throw them away. This is what it's like. The Universe is God's house. We're all His creations, now He's telling you, look I can't have you the way you're, you need to be washed and be made clean. Out of love and desire that you be clean and be among His clean stuffs that He can keep, He went all the way to pay the price of that washing for you, requiring that you only make the choice to be clean. He doesn't and will never force you. It's totally your choice.

The blood of Jesus cleanses and saves. Jesus still saves today. The Choice is yours.

Very well, focus on the topic first.

While you can point out in the new testament on the continuation or otherwise of that by Apostle Paul, you cannot do the same for tithing.

Apostle Paul's position on tithing was that you don't have to be circumcised to be saved as the other apostles made it a matter of necessity otherwise salvation was incomplete. Yet, he Paul Never condemned it or set it aside. Paul's position on circumcision and the narrative of tithing today are totally different.

A believer can go to heaven without paying tithe, if he/she hasn't the means or opportunity to do so, just like the thief on the cross. However, if you have the means to do it, and you said no, it becomes a big snare to you. The bible says, he that knoweth to do good and refuses to do it, to him/her it becomes a sin. Then the question now is, does sin take one to hell?. Yes it does!. This is not because it's law or not. Today, circumcision is still being practiced, but that will not be a hindrance to say a matured Muslim from being born again. But you who have known about it from a young age, and refused to do it say, to your son, what is your excuse?.

Should we now start killing, because it's the law, and we're no longer in that era?. No!. You won't go to heaven because you didn't kill, no you won't. But you can go their for killing, but I thought it was the law and Jesus has done away with the law. We must be wise. There exist a thin line between deception and lie. There are rituals that where clearly written off, like animal sacrifices, eating this and that and some others. But not all were done awY with.

I pay my tithe not because it's law but because I know it's the right thing to do. For someone to come around to tell me to stop doing what I know I should do, is wicked to say the least. If someone doesn't see it as right, fine!, that's your choice. We should address the issue of fake men of God capitalizing on it to enrich themselves rather than throwing away the baby and the bath water.

If I cross over into eternity, will God query me for not giving it, assuming He still demands it?. But if I by assumption refuse to give it, will any of my excuses save me at that point, seeing I had the means to do it, unlike the thief at the cross?.

Please, when making or taking decision on matters of faith we must be very careful. We should be wary of the deceptions of the devil. Do you know that if we all instantly stop giving tithes, many churches will shut down?. You may say yeah! In happiness, but is that what God wants or is that what the devil wants?. So should we do it because there are fake men of God?. The early church gave more than tithes, they sold and gave their all, so who will come up with tithes?. Please, let's be wise. If there's any confusion, fast, pray and ask God to personally tell you. Shalom.

Tithing predates the law!.

It's easy to quote scriptures suit us, but that doesn't make it good and genuine. That a supposed man of God defends it, doesn't make it good either. The devil very accurately quoted the scriptures when he tempted Jesus Christ, but his intention was to deceive. Be careful people, not everything that appears real, appeals to the eye, sounds real is genuine and is popular is genuine.

Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

You give your tithe to the priest/pastor who brings to you the bread (word of God) and prays for you, who is also a representative of God. This is where tithing began. It predates the law.

Secondly, I agree we have to lead people to God, but it must be by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and everything must be according to scriptures.

If a child is always ferried home from school with a white coloured Prado Jeep by a particular driver, and the Father of the child tells it and the school authority to always and only follow this particular driver with this particular white Prado jeep. If another driver comes up tomorrow with a black Prado jeep to ferry the child, shouldn't that child be wary of going with that?. At that point, it doesn't matter if the driver Knows the child's house address, claims to know the father of the child or is a friend of the father. A specific instruction has been given regarding how the child should be ferried home. Anything else is a waste of time and reaks of deception. That's exactly the kind if thing playing out here. Given this senerio, shouldn't the Father of child be called to address the matter before the child can be carried home. No body said you are taken the child to the bush, we know you are taken the child to its father's house, good and fine, but the father's consent must be sort, simple!.

As a man falls in love with a woman so i fell in love with my church even to my own discomfort that God once appeared to me and said "Can you love my church more than me" - I was born a Celestian, and had seen the difference in the heavenly celestial church and the one on earth (don't care what anyone says about that) I met God in celestial church of christ and in one occassion, I had a revelation where I was working with a youth towards a very mighty tree and from afar we saw a frog hoping & climbing the tree horizontally, then I got close to the tree with the youth who was following me and we both climbed the tree to the topmost branch, thereafter two being as tall from the ground, up to the top of the tree came close and asked us if we saw any frog come this way, I replied by saying yes but all of a sudden we saw the frog coming down from the tree hoping as if it were on a vertical plane then the two men stood still afraid like dead bodies but the frog got to the floor and started climbing the leaders body, went underneath he's cloth and all of a sudden I saw the frog come out of his mouth with blood allover then something that hunts me till today happen.

The leader or person in front whom the frog came out of his mouth stretched a stone to me and said "This frog has killed me, take this stone and make sure you kill all the frogs in the world" and immediately i received the stone that scene removed itself and with the stone in my hand i saw the world rotating like in the movies and to my amazement i saw millions of frogs crulling up the world and they covered up the light of the world, then I woke up.

Bro I respect your convictions. But don't forget we have Christians of different levels of faith here on this forum. Just as you said, you were prepared for 14years. Imagine a Christian who is one month old reading your post innocently with that new vibrancy and hunger to grow. The devil will capitalize on this to bring in very subtle additions and say after all the other Christian also did the same thing or had the same experience. The best approach is to direct them to the Holy Spirit to guide them because the devil will never leave a loop hole no matter how small in a bid to deceive man.

The devil can quote the Bible more than any preacher today, he knows the bible more than any man, so we depend on the scriptures and not just our visions and appearances, and when we do have these visions, they must agree with scriptures, else, we set them aside. The devil can appear as an angel too, and claim to be from God. He can also show you beautiful places in dreams and visions. After all, he did the same thing to Jesus as well. The devil can tell 95% truth with just 5% subtle lie. Only the decerning will identify it as a lie.

Also, God may show you somethings and say, this is for your personal consumption, based on your level of faith, you could understand it well but another believer may not do so well.

So, with all these bro., I suggest you let the reader ask the Holy Spirit guide him/her before making that prayer. Since it wasn't expressly indicated in the scriptures, let the Spirit of God teach us the truth about it. Thank you.

Hmm... I respect your personal convictions though. Jesus appearing to you is not so much of an issue here. I have had my own personal experience likewise many others. The issue is making sure the one who appears is the real one, from the Father. also claimed to have been visited by an angel of God and claims his messages where from God. They look religiously correct but you see the contradictions with the very character of God. I don't know if you tested that Jesus with 1 John 4:1-3. I don't care who you are claiming whatever, you must pass that test, the real Jesus and His angels, will not object to that either.

Fake Jesus and angels are appearing these days to people and claiming and preaching new doctrines all over the place. The point is that we must be careful in these last days. That's why I'm questioning you. I haven't seen this kind of prayer before. So I should seriously question it.

My suggestion is, let everyone ask the Holy Spirit to guide and enlighten him/her before trying out this prayer method. The God I know does not deal in short cuts. The bible never told us to do this. Jesus never taught us to pray like this. Where did you get this from?. There are no formulas for getting anything from God except, sincerely repent from your sins, genuinely seek God forgiveness and accept His son Jesus Christ then passionately ask whatever you want Him to give to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Again, when God has given to any man a gift or a blessing, I do not think He takes it back. It may become ineffectual or inactive but to take it back, I don't know of that.

No!, The bible did not contradict itself. There is a corruptible body which we all have now, and which will surely die. There is also an incorruptible body which will never die. This body will be given to all who believe in and accept the Lord Jesus Christ at the last day.

Scars?!, You simply don't know. Those scars on Jesus body are very precious, you may not understand this. That is the last thing the devil wants to see. It's an evidence that someone after death, over powered death, hell, grave and Satan himself and all his demons and came back to life!. The devil will do anything to deny that truth. No body dies in sin (Jesus died bearing our sins and went to hell for us as well) and lives again, doing that is to say that Satan is powerless and a pushover, and he doesn't like to hear that. Everybody who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and is saved, is entitled to that incorruptible body. But those who don't will die again and remain dead, which is the most painful of all pains.

Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Jesus possessing that body is an evidence of His promise to us and an evidence of His triumph over Satan, the world, death and hell. A sure victory for all who accept Him. Don't also forget that the one we are talking about, is the creator. He can create and recreate. He made the corruptible and He made the incorruptible. He can make the scars go away, but for now, they will remain a torment for the devils.

If you seek God's purpose for your life sincerely, He will surely reveal it to you, I can guarantee you that. Knowing your purpose will give you such focus and energy you can't imagine. It will silence all the pain you feel inside in a way you can't imagine. But the truth is, it's in God.

What a warped reasoning. God made intelligent humans, who have will and power of choice. God never made robots. Do you think making a robot will be difficult to do?.
