Abeg forget that thing. Na connection sure pass. I finished with 2.1 but couldn't get any decent job! The one I got was under paying me. Like seriously, I went to uni and worked hard to graduate with 2.1 to be earning 35k? While ladies in my class with the right connections, some of them I taught them in school then. They are well employed and paid because they have the right connection. Millions of 2.1 graduates are jobless now and millions are under paid. Know the right persons and u would get a good job in Nigeria. The very few who got good jobs out of merit are simply in the 'a few category' Their grace is really high. I even had to learn more ICT skills, got certification, yet no betr job! Had to to resolt to freelancing. 2 Likes |

If there was nothing wrong with a president appointing solely from his region, there wouldnt av been need for federal character. This sort of thing causes havoc. Everyone is saying it. There are APC members from other regions, he can get trust there. Nigeria is a sensitive country bro. Fear of ethnic domination was one of the reasons for the first civil war. GMBuhari:Hi.. I don't like commenting much here but I needed to point out something to u.. One, there is no issue appointing him.. No problem at all. But the issue here is that nearly the entire security agencies heads in Nigeria are headed by people from the north.. That is not right bro. It is not even about the constitution alone.. It is about what is logically right. Nigeria is a sensitive country.. It is a country with history of bloody civil war. A country where ethnic sentiments is the order of the day. It is improper of the president to only appoint people from one region to head strategic positions like this. Buhri no try at all. Forget whatever u would say to justify this. I am sure deep down you, u understand what I am saying. Appointments made so far in security and other strategic positions have been bias. Such can cause trouble if not that Nigerians are not all that violent. It is about the new NIA boss qualification, there are also qualified people from south. It is becus of fear of ethnic domination that i av always suggested that Nigeria should return to regional system of govt. With this, each ethnic region can sort themselves out during appointments. Filling up the FG with people mostly from the north is an act that can provoke others.. That was why federal character was established becus fear of ethnic domination can cause war. I think for all these nonsense sentiments to stop, I encourage youths who are reasonable to preach regional govt based constitution with a weakened central govt. Igbos may decide to retate their regional mayor, have their own capital and share investments among their states. At least, soldiers are only exposed to such risk only when there is intense danger in the society. These officers are exposed to life danger every day. I do feel for them and when i have small thing with me, i do give them if i see them on roads. Once in a while, lets show them love. I know most of them are annoying and corrupt. hidhrhis:some of u just talk like kids.. if u are not trained as a doctor, can u carry out surgery ? police men were not trained to fight terrorists.. soldiers were trained to do that.. there are weapons police men are not exposed to by law. Soldiers are exposed to such weapons by law. Mopol on the other hands are exposed to better training than the usual black and black police.. That is why u see mopol more with soldiers. Areas where we have security challenges, u would see mopols and soldiers as the only officers in such place. Mopols are not exposed to weapons needed to fight terrorists in the forests but they follow as cover ups in certain areas. U can do engnieering jobs when u are not trained to do so. I know some police men are bad.. but my brother if only we can hate our politicians as much as we hate policemne, that would be good. we always hate the wrong people in Nigeria. Mopol and police in general, no matter how useless u think they are, they are over important. If those guys dont work for one day, the news we would get wont be nice at all. On the record, police men are not exposed to weapons soldiers are exposed to.. dont expect them to go to sambisa becus u cant perform the job of a doctor if u arent trained. |

This means that there are fantastic players based in the continent u wouldn't see on the African footballer of the year award category but u can find them on the best 11 players. Fans voted and I'm sure u didn't vote. Next time try and vote. What u need to understand is that in southern and northern part of Africa, the fans follow their local league more than they follow the European leagues.. I follow African club football and the combination is great. Those players are good players and the mix with European players is perfect. Also, CAF didn't do the selection, fans did. Fans made their choice and I mean fans who follow both club footballers in Africa and Europe.. We only follow African footballers in Europe as Nigerians.. We can't judge fairly then. HOW GOVERNOR EMMANUEL STEERED AKWA IBOM OUT OF RECESSION THROUGH DAKKADA PHILOSOPHY By Sam Edoho The recent economic recession in Nigeria demanded that a right thinking government both at the national and state levels revisit her economic policies, and ensure that available scarce resources are expended very wisely, not only in the right direction, but on a course that would attract a reciprocal investment or funds, either directly to government purse, or to citizen’s pockets via exchange of goods and services. Evidences, indices and statistics on ground indicates that Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state is one of the very few state governors who was able to stabilize his state’s economy in the face of excruciating recession and near famine that ravaged the country soon after the 2015 general elections. Not only was the state’s economy stabilized, it was rated by National Bureau of Statistics, NBS as only second to Lagos state in attracting foreign investments into the country. As if the Governor knew that hard times were underway, soon after assuming office in May 2015, he launched what he called Dakkada philosophy. Dakkada means 'Arise' in Ibibio and most Akwa Ibom languages. The philosophy harped on creativity, innovativeness, excellence, integrity and hard work. Many Akwa Ibomites who have achieved unimaginable heights in their chosen career or vocations both locally, nationally or internationally were showcased and recognized as ambassadors, with the aim to inspire the Indigenes with their stories. Campaigns were embarked on radio, TV, Internet and outdoor avenues in addition to town hall enlightenment campaigns, while on the other flank, government created an innovation centre through Akwa Ibom Enterprise and Empowerment Scheme, AKEES, to serve as an incubation centre for newly inspired ideas. The Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, an agency that pilots the Dakkada philosophy also offered technical services to hundreds of indigenes who thronged their offices to share their dreams and aspirations. Many citizens of the state began to search, create and spread opportunities. In a time that 3 million job losses were reported in Nigeria due to sudden crash of the economy and currency, it was an issue of public embarrassment for anyone to be described as a jobless and idle man or woman in Akwa Ibom state, as friends would quickly ask such fellow if he has not heard of DAKKADA. Churches, families, social groups and other institutions saw in the Dakkada philosophy, a readymade template for social reorientation, and such messages made it easy for the people to easily register in the over 300 Dakkada Multipurpose Co-operative Societies spread across the state, an initiative that has benefited over 10, 000 Akwa Ibomites who created small business clusters and got a refundable 1million naira seed capital from government for their chosen investments. Before long, many small and medium scale businesses began to spring up across the state with many of them joyously branding their business premises with the Dakkada insignia. Still in response to the Dakkada messages, indigenes began to convert available land to subsistent farms or gardens, many forests were deforested and turned to either commercial farms, poultries or fish pond even as perpetual urban dwellers migrated to their villages for farming. By the time the economic recession began to bite so hard, many Akwa Ibomites already had an escape route. Kudos to Governor Emmanuel, who promptly paid salaries, pensions and other entitlements to civil servants, thereby putting money in their hands to patronize the efforts of other service providers so as to balance supplies with purchasing power. Without any equivocation, an honest Akwa Ibomite who understood the level of excruciating hunger that devastated this nation, who read of how people in other states suffered because of salary backlog accumulating for up to 15 months in some states would easily agree that Akwa Ibomites fared better during the recession courtesy of the Dakkada philosophy of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Through the Dakkada philosophy, Akwa Ibomites have been able to take the best out of the bad situation. It is commonly postulated that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That is a truism, but what makes the tough to get going is his or her mental attitude. The Dakkada philosophy has been able to instill in the people the positive mental attitude that is required to keep them in the queue of sustainability and financial stability. While reports say that the nation is gradually overcoming the economic misfortunes, most Akwa Ibomites are completely free from lack and are already enjoying the boom of the fruits of their labour. This is urging any son or daughter of Akwa Ibom still sitting on the sidelines to arise and join the train to economic liberation and wealth creation. It's now that Akwa Ibomites should appreciate the fact that when choosing a leader, we should rise above biases, and choose a man with capacity as against politics and sentiments. See, the current system is structured in a way that northerners dominate the national assembly. The north controls this country bro. In the south, we have problem with collective decision becus the west is divided into two loyalties.. one loyalty to the northern political class and the second loyalty to the southern interest. Now, the north keeps winning in issues like establishments and creation of FG projects becus they have the major say. U cant wake up one morning and run a FG project just like that. It needs necessary procedures before it can be actualized. And the national assembly plays great role in this. Not even the president finds it easy to get this done. The country has been structured to favor the north forever. My only sadness is that with the obvious favorism to the north, the region is still has majority of the poor citizens. Nigeria is a one chance project. I can bet u with anything, if this country wasnt structured this way, I mean this unitary federalism, southern Nigeria would have go far. It is unfair. The southern Nigeria is in big mess becus the west which is a major player in the country has two loyalties. Look at almost all the security institutions are located in the north, even the capital of Nigeria is a northern project. Not even the entire senators from south south can easily get projects approved for the south. North has more local govt which is the bane of Nigeria politics. Many rich and famous Nigerians use Mopol for such services.. what u need to understand is that the police u are exposed to, is not same police these rich guys use. I know what Im saying. Also, what makes someone competent is usually the available tools given to him or her.
