well, i av been in a station where a man came to report a case about a guy who has refused to pay him money he borrowed from him.. the officers there asked a young policeman to follow him and invite the man. I was waiting for the DPO. Few minutes later, the young police officer came with the man who borrowed money and the guy who reported the case..

The woman in charge of the case spoke to both of them and advised them. Few minutes later, they all agreed when the other guy would pay back. The man who reported the case was asked to accept part of the money from his debtor. The case ended professionally.. so not all of them are bad..

Do u want to tell me that where u worked, where u schooled, where u av been to, there are not good and bad staff there?

I also had police case.. i bought a laptop for someone and few months later, i realized the laptop had issues with the motherboard.. the man was acting like a boss and was threatening me.. I took the case to a police station. i didnt know anyone there.. It was my first time and my last time of reporting a case at the station.

A man was in charge of the case.. he asked a jenior officer to follow me and invite the computer seller.. we got to his shop, he was not around, the officer collected his number and called him with his own credit. He asked him to report to the station when he is back. Few hours later, I was called by the officer that the computer man had showed up.. I rushed to the station.

three officers took us to a smaller room and spoke with us.. They now asked us to go outside and decide if we want to do police case or settle this issue between our selves. They spoke to us calmly and advised us to settle. They told the guy to pay high price of compromise and also told me to shift ground too. I was amazed at their level of friendliness..

A friend of mine reported his landlord to a near by police station recently. he was professionally attended to... Go to station and see how people keep visiting the station. If they are not delivering, i dont think people would go there. The day i was with a DPO, i was shocked at how people kept coming to station to report cases..

Also, at Ibadan, around the industrial estate, policemen are usually hired to protect company's facilities..I was driving the other day and i saw how these officers were playing and laughing with nearby citizens.. When i travel, i see people sit, joke, and play with officers who are strangers in those location..

So, i was stopped few months ago because they felt i was into internet fraud due to how i dressed.. i respected my self and answered them politely and provided the documents they needed..

a neighbor got into trouble recently with Federal sars becus he was seen at close scene where robbers robbed and left. So, they saw him and started asking him series of questions.. but he gave answers that were not corresponding with the evidence he provided..

They suspected him.. they had to follow him home and met his landlord to verify who he was.. it was after searching his house and found nothing, they left him. But they all smiled together..

people should ensure that answers they give correspond with the evidence they want to provide. yes, police is bad but bad like every other institution in Nigeria. I went to do my national ID and i saw hell. so, naija is messed up.

Politicians are the reason our security units are incompetent. Those average policemen are like normal average Nigerians.. They are not well paid, they go on dangerous mission without safety kits. Have u been to barracks? Just go there and see where those men who stand under sun and exchange bullets with robbers live. Most of them die for nothing. The mopol who died in IMO, during bank robbery, if he had safety kits on, he would av been saved.

Politicians have refused to take care of our institutions and they care for themselves alone. An average police man can not afford a decent car. Poor salary with such a risky job. It is not bad if officers questions your source of income. The last time they stopped me, that was their major concern and I had to prove to them that what I told them I do is what I actually do. U don't blame them, fraud and crime rates are high here.

Most Nigerians always want to intimidate police men. I was at a city centre in Ibadan few weeks ago and I saw how a civilian was pointing finger at a police man and was insulting him badly. The policeman was calm. Most Nigerians only respect corps outside nigeria.. I av never had any negative experience once.

I remember the day I was stopped by SARs guys.. They stopped me because of how I dressed.. It was embarrassing but I stopped and allowed them ask me their various questions and I answered politely and intelligently. It is a matter of how u approach them.

And Nigerians don't know how bad yahoo yahoo has become in Nigeria.. We are being pushed to accept it as a way of life.. It is almost becoming a way of life here. Sad.

well, it is funny how most of us cant read inbetween the lines.. what the white officer said was not that the police is the best in the world in terms of real and calculative performances.. however if u are to judge the Nigeria police based on their poor salary structure, poor equipment, poor promotion and motivation and the risky nature of their job, they are still doing fine.

At the end of your degree program, your destiny is already laced with debt worth about £40,000($68,527 as today exchange rate). Let’s covert that to naira, that’s about #20,000,000million.

Please, take a look at that debt of 20,000,000 being forced on you by your own parents and the system you called excellent. In this same vein, your potential girlfriend/fiancée is laced with the same predicament. A friend in Canada, she is a Canadian, she told me that in her own region where she stays, minimum wage is 11 dollars per hour. Now, that means the least anyone can earn per hour in that region.

This means if someone works for 10 hours per day, the person would earn $110 for that day. This is the minimum one can earn per hour. This means there are people who earn far more than $11 per hour.

With this payment rate, poverty level becomes very low. Very very low. This means the masses can afford many things..

In nigeria, the masses are left to be poor and u expect them to bear heavy burden of tax? u can imagine a country where more than 50% of her fresh graduate earn below 50k naira :O That is terrible. A country where people still earn 5k naira per month and work for 12 hours per day :O U expect the people to pay high electricity tariff fee, education fee, not possible.. The leaders must begin to cut down on their outrageous pays. Also, elections need to be strictly on free and fair in order to reduce the amount of money candidates spend to win election.

The problem is not the masses but the ruling class.

The problem with you guys is that u all want European style of everything without considering many things..

Number one, Africa is not Europe bro.. Africans are still poor.. Many Africans can't travel from one country to another, lodge in a hotel and buy tickets to go watch matches in a neutral venue. Europeans have this well.

Secondly, African clubs don't have large fan bases outside their home country. U can imagine Ahly vs Wydad Casablanca final match in Nigeria, how many Nigerians would come out to watch it?

African countries are geographically far from one another.. How people are willing to travel from Egypt to Nigeria to watch their club play matches?

Transportation is poor across Africa.

These things made one leg final impossible for now until African countries develop in standard of living and infrastructure. CAF tried the one leg final of a thing but didn't succeed. Matches were played in an empty stadium.

I can only suggest that they play super cup in a neutral venue to test cities in Africa with better crowd attendance. That is the best thing for now.
