TravelRe: U.S. Posts New Nigeria Travel Warning: Kidnapping, Robbery, Bombs, Etc by Princek12(m): 7:49pm On Oct 19, 2010
the post should read "eastern Nigeria" travel warning, because all the states to which the U.S. Dept. State warns U.S. citizens not to travel are mostly the Ibo, south eastern states and the Niger Delta, save for Jos and Borno and Lagos armed robbers. But the kidnapping occurrences, so I hear, in the southeastern region has escalated to epidemic proportions. All those MEND dudes who are plying their kidnapping trade need to be shot to death. All those so called dudes who are engaging in thuggery and kidnapping under the pretext of fighting for freedom fighters need to be arrested, mutilated, and beheaded.

In 2010 are we even having this conversation grin grin grin grin Some of you must come from the most remote villages in Nigeria to seriously fall for this rubbish, before Obama became US president,Im absolutely sure that he has baby sat his daughters at home, and done the family dishes at some point, Nigerians do everthing backwards, shaking my head undecided
So I guess since you are not from the remote villages, your mother had your father stay at home to carry you on his pack and wash the dishes while your mom was away at work. Please tell me the city from which you come. And by the way, you must lived with the Obamas, especially when he was on the campaign trail for two years and therefore was barely home while Michelle handled business at home.

I see a lot of Nairaland women will want a husband like that. Abi?  Poster, do you have a picture showing him washing clothes with his hands outside in a bucket? I am sure he is also a washman.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Donates N10m To Jigawa Flood Victims by Princek12(m): 5:23pm On Oct 18, 2010
The poster should substitute "Donate" for "Return," for you cannot technically donate to the recipient that which rightfully belongs to him, and from whom the said donation was taken or otherwise stolen. Hence, it should read: "Atiku returns N10m to Jigawa Flood Victims."
FamilyRe: . by Princek12(m): 1:02pm On Oct 18, 2010
You should put your mom in the place where she belongs. Even if your mom finds offensive your girlfriend's extended stay at your place, your mom exceeded her powers by driving her out. I presume your mom pays no bills and is not responsible for the upkeep of your residence, so your mom has impermissibly invaded your personal space by deciding how long your girlfriend can stay in your own house.
Be cautioned that your mom's nosy behavior presages more invasion into other private areas of your relationship, even when and if you become married. As such, don't be shocked when she later comes in your eventual matrimonial home and dictates to your wife, for example, the kind of clothes to wear and how she should wash the dishes.

FashionRe: Africans At Miss World 2010 by Princek12(m): 3:15pm On Oct 16, 2010
Miss Naija looks alright at best, disappointing that she represents the best out of the most populous nation not only in Africa but also in the black world. Just like we send the worst soccer players to represent us in World Cups and competitions, we have again sent an average candidate to represent us at Miss World 2010. Maybe her father has connections with the "committee" that picked her to represent Naija. I am not being cynical, but I know we can do better than that. I mean look at some of the girls from the other African countries--i.e., Ivory Coast, Botswana, and even Ivory Coast. Agbani Darego or Mrs Yobo, please come out of retirement oooooooooo.

(1) pretty face;
(2) nice, shapely body (figure 8 with a bakassi and moderately wide hips and two juggies upfront to complement it);
(3) good cook (Nigerian; international dishes is a plus);

(5) God fearing; and
(6) extremely good in bed.
PoliticsRe: I Applaud Chilean Government Efforts On Miners - Can This Happen In Nigeria? by Princek12(m): 4:48am On Oct 14, 2010
In Nigeria victims of accidents that happen above ground don't get rescued timely much less victims of accidents that happen underground. If that were Nigeria, those miners would have die before they rescue them.
PoliticsRe: Why Is America So Blessed? by Princek12(m): 2:01am On Oct 14, 2010
The founding fathers were extremely smart people who left England to form a country they envisioned, a country that inherited the good qualities from England, and eviscerated the bad qualities. Hence, America was born. Before you can understand fully the reasons undergirding the greatness of America, you will have to study the U.S. constitution, which laid the foundations upon which the great America was built.

Dr Know:
Well, well, well, is NIgeria this much bad that most can't even think sensibly. The poster asked a simple question of so much importance and the replies being given were so ridiculous and abusive. In other civilised societies except Nigeria, there are league tables of the best and the worst institutions for potential applicants to make the best choice and for individual institution to improve its position in any subsequent ranking. It also helps the educational authorities to know which institutions are failing that require more funding. It surprises me that there are no institutional rankings in Nigeria.
Is your response sensible, judging by your own standards? How have you contributed to answering the poster's question? Abeg, comot for road! And for your information, many Nairalanders have a great sense of humor and  repeatedly respond with satire, so that's why many nairalanders responded the way they did. So instead of being too serious and giving yourself an unnecessary high blood pressure over satire and humor, you are advised to chill. Other nairalanders who are serious, knowledgeable, and have credible information about the best universities will, in due time, post their comments in response to the poster's question.
EducationRe: Which School Is The Best University In Nigeria And Why? by Princek12(m): 1:15pm On Oct 12, 2010
I heard Cyber Cafe University is the best. There, you will learn to be competent in, among other skills, internet browsing, phishing, scamming, advance-fee fraud, and gbajue. You will also learn to develop a strong business acumen and hustling skills, both of which will enable you successfully compete in the rigmarole of Nigerian culture and society, as you have seen from my response and other nairalanders' response to your question.
FamilyRe: For Nigerian Mothers Who Gave Birth Abroad by Princek12(m): 1:04pm On Oct 12, 2010
Can't the parents the teach children the same lesson the grandmother would teach them? What kind of lesson are we talking about: Language, culture, or discipline?  "Strong pride in Nigeria" sounds like a vague concept and is hopefully something that can be taught at home in the U.S., albeit it may prove difficult, because of the extremely infectious nature of American culture.  If it is language, then strictly speaking at home your native language will be an efficient way of teaching the kids the language.
But I can understand the concern of the poster, sha!

PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Third Fastest Growing Economy In The World - Imf by Princek12(m): 4:15pm On Oct 11, 2010
Assuming the IMF data is true, which I have no reason to doubt (as the IMF is a reputable international), Nigeria, a country powered essentially by generators, has the third largest growing economy in the world; imagine that we may have been the second or third largest growing economy if our leaders had fixed the electricity problem.

PoliticsRe: What Is Aljazeera's Mission In Nigeria? by Princek12(m): 2:23pm On Oct 08, 2010
Al Jazeera's style of journalism should be a standard by which other news networks are measured. Al jazeera provides pure, unadulterated news, more like tell-it-like-it-is journalism, and I regularly watch their news.

To answer the poster's question, Al Jazeera's mission in Nigeria is to tell the world the truth about Nigeria, and do exactly what Nigerian and western journalists have thus far been incapable of doing--that is, give unbiased, raw-footage of news that would otherwise be ignored by other journalists.
CelebritiesRe: I Will Never Marry Again - 9ice by Princek12(m): 3:23pm On Oct 07, 2010
It is difficult for a star like 9ice to stay married when he had to repeatedly wake up to a face like Toni Payne. He understandably says he won't marry anymore, which may be attributable to the trauma he is experiencing due to marrying the "wrong person."  But I guarantee you 9ice will be walking down the aisle once he finds that girl who not only has the physical beauty, but also has the character and wife qualities that which will make him happy; a girl that befits a star like 9ice. For example, from couples like Jay Z and Beyonce to Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, once a man, especially a star, finds that beauty queen who embodies everything he wants in a wife, he will definitely say "I do."

its a very good system and i think we shld adopt it, it will certainly reduce the mad rush that JAMB has become. Many pple in our med schools today have no business being there.
I agree with you. There are too many people in Nigerian medical schools who have no business being there. Besides there should be a separate entrance exam after your first degree for applicants to professional schools. That extra hurdle will weed out those who don't take it seriously.

davidylan:
This kind of lies are just nauseating. Folks posting without verifying their facts.
It is NOT true for medical schools - my brother was at Unilag for a yr and he was only 17 fresh out of secondary school.
The claim is only true for law schools (it is however NOT true that it only changed "some yrs ago"wink . . . you always had to finish a first degree in law (straight out of secondary school) then proceed to the Nigerian Law School for 2 yrs before a call to bar.
I think a 17-yr old who is fresh out of secondary school is too young to be in medical school;  if not for any reason but for the fact that that 17-yr old is probably too young and therefore improvident to decide whether he really wants to be a doctor.
PoliticsRe: Education: 6-3-3-4 Has Failed – Jonathan by Princek12(m): 2:46am On Oct 06, 2010
The  6 3 3 4 system is fine as it is. The basic problem lies in not upgrading the public school infrastructure, and hiring unqualified teachers. However, one model that I think we should adopt in Nigeria is the admission system to professional schools in the United States. In the United States, you can only be admitted to medical school, law school, pharmacy school, among other professional schools, after you complete your undergraduate degree rather than direct admission from secondary school, like it is Nigeria. That way, people have four years of undergraduate study within which to decide whether professional school is right for them, and professional schools can matriculate candidates who have proved themselves in a more competitive forum than secondary school. I also think you are more matured after four years of undergraduate schooling, which prepares you better for the rigorous program of professional school.

My brother, I am a big booty fan, but Lepacious Bose is more than a big booty; she is a big stomach and a big everything. That one is too much for me.
CelebritiesRe: Lepacious Bose Says - I Am Very Choosy When It Comes To Men by Princek12(m): 5:36pm On Oct 05, 2010
It is unassailable that Lepacious Bose is outright fat, ugly, shapeless, and unattractive, although reasonable minds could differ as to that opinion. Lepacious Bose is a typical unattractive woman who probably does not get asked on a date, let alone have a boyfriend, but she will make an excuse that she "is choosy when it comes to men" as the reason why she has no significant other.

I bet a million bucks that she rarely, if ever, gets offers from guys to go on a date. And even if a guy offers to take her out on a date or otherwise date her, that guy is probably a desperado looking for receptacle into which to dump his full load, or plainly  intends to use or is using her for money.

To be choosy means that she has multiple options, as in multiple men ask to take her out on a date, and she gets to choose out of the multiple applicants. In short, that Lepacious Bose has a cauldron of men who approach her from whom to choose, or that she is choosy, that assertion I find unavailing.
PoliticsRe: Dokpesi Arrested For Abuja Bomb Blast by Princek12(m): 2:45am On Oct 05, 2010
This statement is plausible: IBB had foreknowledge of the explosion and therefore did not attend the ceremony. It is also plausible that MEND carried out the attacks. Mehn, I really don't know.

PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan Says Mend Is Not Responsible For Abuja Attacks. by Princek12(op): 3:21pm On Oct 04, 2010
Even if MEND did not do it, the president needs to go there and exterminate all those so called freedom fighters. They kidnap foreign workers and innocent locals for ransom, a clear contravention of all the laws. And if they did it, it should signal to the govt. that MEND is getting out of control, and that the Nigerian Military needs to root those mutha suckas out.

MEND OR NO MEND, THE PRESIDENT DID WHAT HE THINKS IS BEST IN THE TIME BEING. DOING OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE WARRANTED AN IMMEDIATE MILITARY ACTION AGAINST INNOCENT PEOPLE IN THE CREEKS (PRESUMED MEND LOCATIONS) AND NOT AGAINST THE PERPETRATORS/ TERRIORSITS.

MR PRESIDENT HAS PROMISED TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION, LET'S GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF
Mr President should name the culprits responsible for the attacks, then, since he hastily stated that MEND had no connection to the attacks. Since he concluded that MEND is not responsible, I am sure he should have known, or at least have a list of suspects, who the responsible parties are.
PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan Says Mend Is Not Responsible For Abuja Attacks. by Princek12(op): 9:48am On Oct 04, 2010
GEJ still stands by his earlier statement that MEND is not responsible for the attacks, but that it was perpetrated by a terrorist group that was sponsored. Mr. Ebele, make you name the terrorist group and their sponsors now!

As the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan's job is to provide security for Nigerians.
He says MEND didn't do it. His supporters claim he must have some intel that we are not privy to. Fair enough.
but now he claims he knows who did it! And remember he also claims that the people behind the bombing aren't MEND, but 'terrorists'

In other words, Jonathan knows the terrorists that attacked Nigerians in full view of the world, killing and maiming innocent citizens.

In other words, if Jonathan does not name, shame and arrest these 'terrorists', then it shows that

1. He is shielding terrorists from Justice
2. He is not fit to be President.

I have been a keen Jonathan supporter all this while. But i will find it very difficult to cast my vote for him (if he scales the primaries hurdle) in 2011 if he cannot act on the information he claims to have.
excellent use of logic. GEJ has shown he is a tribalist. or is he referring to Al Qaeda terrorists? if he is, he needs to get a life.
