Al Jazeera just uploaded a video of their interview with Baba Iyabo. As usual, he spoke about the same stuff he always spoke about, refusing to acknowledge that corruption, of which he was an active participant, has crippled Nigeria. Please watch the video and post your comments. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value=" http://www.youtube.com/user/aljazeeraenglish?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/0/_VrE7cFd1dI |
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, I advise you to leave Aso Villa and pick your AK-47 so that you can join your fellow freedom fighters in the Niger Delta. Since you are stupidly defending them, when MEND themselves has claimed responsibility for the attack, you have shown the Nigeria people that you will put your village ahead of national interests. You have also shown that you cannot reason: first, by unjustifiably suspending the Super Eagles from further competition and second, by denying MEND's involvement in an attack for which MEND claimed responsibility. What next? |
Just when I was thinking we have a president who will use all of our resources to exterminate MEND from the face of the earth. Only in Nigeria and all these Middle Eastern countries will a govt. allow such a nonsensical organization to conduct illegal activities like kidnappings for ransom, illegal refining, pipeline sabotaging, etc. |
tkb417:Everything don scatter scatter. Who are we to believe? |
Assuming, for argument's sake, that MEND was not responsible for the attacks, it is not Jonathan's business to defend MEND--regardless of whether you call MEND a terrorist organization or a freedom fighter organization. By reason of being from the Niger Delta, he somehow feels obliged to defend MEND. Very soon he will claim that MEND is not responsible for the kidnappings and sabotages to oil pipelines in the region. Give me a break, Mr. President. |
In my own view, President Jonathan has effectively become the De facto spokesman for MEND. He said earlier that they were not responsible for yesterday's explosions in Abuja. Is this the president you guys want? Jonathan says MEND not responsible for Abuja attacks NAN October 2, 2010 05:17PM print email President Goodluck Jonathan has said that terrorists were responsible for the bomb blasts that rocked Abuja yesterday contrary to claims that the act was perpetrate by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). Mr. Jonathan made the claim in his opening address at the colloquium, organised today in Abuja by the ECOWAS Parliament, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of some African countries. ``What happened yesterday was a terrorist act and MEND was just used as a straw; MEND is not a terrorist group," the President said. ``The Niger Delta people are aware of the government's noble efforts to assuage the suffering and deprivation in that region. ``I am from the Niger Delta, my father's house is few metres from an oil-well, so nobody can claimto be a Niger Deltan than myself." MEND, yesterday, claimed responsibility for the attacks. A few minutes before the blasts, the group sent an email to journalists and media companies warning of the impending violence. "With due respect to all invited guests, dignitaries and attendees of the 50th independence anniversary of Nigeria being held today, Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Eagle Square Abuja, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is asking everyone to begin immediate evacuation of the entire area within the next 30 minutes. This warning expires after 10.30Hrs," MEND spokesperson Jomo Gbomo said in the mail. However, Mr. Jonathan has said this was a diversionary tact by the real perpetrators of the crime. He argued that no Niger Delta group would carry out such an act as it would affect the region's chance for development. ``It is erroneous to think that my people who have been agitating for good living will deliberately blow up the opportunity they have now,'' Mr. Jonathan said. He also said the country's security agencies will be restructured to become proactive to guarantee the safety of lives and property. ``I pray for the souls of those who died to attain peace and fervently pray for those who sustain injuries in the blast to be healed,'' he said. Poster, Did you use your money to woo her initially and subsequently into a relationship? Even after you entered into a relationship with her, did you offer to continually give her money without her asking you (I mean before she started asking for more money)? If you answer yes to at least one of the above questions, it appears that you are reaping what you sowed, and she may have also entered into a relationship with you solely or primarily because of money. My best advice is to tell her you have no money to give her, and see whether she behaves differently towards you, or whether she will end the relationship. That would be essentially conclusive proof that she does not love you, and that she is in this relationship just for the money. |
tkb417:If you paint lipstick on a pig, they elders say, it is still a pig. UK returnee or not, a malo will still be a malo. |
--190--:Why do you like acting like a dude sometimes? You get a kick out of it? |
--190--:good you stay in the gidi. You got a Yahoo IM? |
--190--:yup! What a smile you have on you! Which city do you live? |
Tensor, the last time I checked, they call dudes like you "woman wrapper," which is essentially a term used to describe dudes like you who exhibit a backboneless behavior that will land you only a friendship role with women. It won't get you further. There is nothing wrong in speaking your mind, even if your opinion appears seemingly unpopular with women. If you think being a woman wrapper will help you find a girl to take on a date, let alone find one to enter a relationship with you, then you are in for an old fashioned reality check; being a woman wrapper generally is a behavior that is so repugnant and unattractive to a woman seeking a boyfriend that she will relegate you to the level of friendship--that is, she will say "let's just be friends." 190, what's up? You look cute. |
tensor777:the girl herself admitted that she left her fiancee for his friend because his friend is wealthy. She presently expresses her regrets at her decision and says she never really loved the new guy, but only that he is rich. Money is not everything. |
tensor777:you must be living under a rock if you think club girls are the only ones who will date guys and stay in an unhealthy relationship as long as the money is flowing. Go to church and see gold-diggers flock to the preacher or the guy who has the nicest car. Even more disturbing, some of these "church girls" knowingly flock to wealthy, married men. |
Inked_Nerd:When guys speak about what is apparently becoming a majority behavior prevalent among Naija girls, you say it's a nasty habit of grouping people together. You are darn right in one respect-- it is grouping all the gold-diggers together, albeit not a nasty habit. Sadly but truthfully, however, some mothers and sisters belong to the gold-diggers group, no disrespect intended. A lot of these gold-diggers, for example all concubines of Obasanjo and Abiola, are mothers and sisters to someone, so it only follows that some mothers and sisters are gold-diggers. Instead of you to condemn this seemingly indefensible, destructive behavior, you are directing your angst at the men who are condemning it. And if you are not a gold-digger, do not bother, for these criticisms are not directed at you. |
Inked_Nerd:You know Naija guys will not enter a hellfire punanny, i.e., nasty looking bhitch, so we will not go up in flames. It is y'all Naija girls who will be in love with a monkey like Obasanjo, despite being his 55th wife, just because of his money. Likewise, Abiola had, maybe, in excess of 30 concubines, most of whom dated him because of his money. Naija women will date a snail if he has money. |
To the money hungry galz, this is a true story. A female friend of mine told me that her female cousin failed to show up on the female cousin's wedding day because the female cousin had started dating her then fiancee's friend, who is ten years older than her and very wealthy. She later married her fiancee's friend, the guy to whom she ran away on her wedding day. The sole reason for marrying her fiancee's friend was that he was wealthy and "had a lot of money." Now ten years into the marriage, the female cousin is seriously incompatible with this guy, the union has produced no children, and there are irremediable differences existing between both of them. Bottom line, she is depressed and wants to run away from Nigeria to another country. Lesson: money is not everything; find someone with whom you are compatible and be happy. This girl married this guy because of his wealth, but they could not even go out and have fun together. What is the fun in marriage if, even though you are in possession of material things such as Gucci et al, you are unhappy and insanely incompatible with your partner? I don't get this Naija women who marry these men just because of money, but thereafter live in misery. |
kelvin:how do you measure intellectual and moral maturity without using education? Propose a measure that can be used to determine intellectual and moral maturity? |
Since the leaders fall not from the sky but are chosen from the Nigerian people, and this same leaders are accused of being the most corrupt in the world, it only follows that Nigerian people are the most corrupt people in the world. Granted, Nigeria's economic woes and corruption at the leadership can be blamed on the leaders; you cannot, however, now blame this same leaders for all the 419 scams, drugs, and fraud that come out of Nigeria. The people should bear responsibility for all that. Everyone thinks that eliminating corruption starts from the top, but no, eliminating corruption starts from the bottom; each and every Nigerian, both home and abroad, should assume responsibility for Nigeria's corrupt image and try to fix it by either refraining from engaging in corrupt practices or by reporting another person who is corrupt. |
she can wear a respirator or use nose plugs to block her nose. that way, she can stop inhaling that body odor. also, maybe the guy does not wear deodorant, which is typical of many Africans. In on example, I visited this African club, and I had to leave because I no longer could bear inhaling that terrible odor circulating in the club. It was obvious that it was the smell of sweat emanating from people who don't use deodorants. Even when I travel to Naija, the smell that follows some people is terrible. |
broke ladies will probably not appreciate a fine boy with no money; a loaded lady will appreciate him, I think. |
Poster, You should proceed with extreme caution as you enter into this relationship, for generally women are very evil, just like the venom in a serpent. As illogical as it may sound, being a nice guy is extremely repugnant to women, and you will NEVER win with women by being a nice guy. That being said, even though you are being nice by accepting her, despite the fact that she is pregnant for her ex (and I'm sure her ex is a player who dumped her like a trash bag), I can almost guarantee you that she will go back to her ex after she delivers her baby. She is most likely using you as a rebound guy to water her emotions while they burn. But call me silly while I say this: if this girl did not see something in you for seventeen years, in that she has during that time hung around with losers such as her ex, who will impregnate her and leave, what makes you think that her eyes abruptly opened to notice you. I hope you pray about this matter because it appears as though she is one of those girls who is constantly attracted to losers, and being nice, just like you, won't cut it. I cast out the muguness in you by the special grace of God. |
At least the critics here should be happy that someone who is appointed to head a delicate body such as INEC is speaking vehemently against corruption. Nigeria's problem is not only her corrupt leaders, but also her corrupt citizens. Do the leaders tell our brothers to commit fraud and 419 all over the world? I don't think so. |
lyfe:Sorry for your state. Let me ask you question: if a young, promising, articulate, Fashola-like candidate entered the gubernatorial race, will the majority of Oyo residents support him? I will say no, so you all deserve the Akalas that will run that state down. What do you think? |
Alao Akala represents the mentality of the majority of the people of Oyo state and Ibadan--benighted residents who are happy as long as they eat their amala and ewedu soup. How did Oyo residents allow him to be the governor? The entire state should be condemning that fool called Akala, for he has not improved the infrastructure of the state. As a matter of fact, I don't think any Oyo governor has improved the state's infrastructure in the last sixteen years. Amala politics at its finest. |
Poster, If you can receive that which you dish out, then I see no problem in not updating your facebook profile to saying "engaged." Would you mind if your fiancee's status says 'single?' |
d bigrod:My friend and my uncle also got a $30000000000000000000000000000000 billion contract from Fashola. |
Many SA girls have wide hips, fat arses, and thick thighs, as well as a nice attitude to complement it. Naija girls on the other hand mostly have straight hips, flat arses, and skinny thighs, as well as a nasty attitude. Since black women are supposedly genetically predisposed to having fat arses and wide hips, i.e., as seen in many akata, SA African, and Liberian women, why this trait missed most Nigerian women, I will never know. |
aisha2:Good job on what you are doing! But I am sure many Nigerians can also boast of doing the same, hopefully they are not supporting IBB or Atiku or Saraki, sha! |
Ileke-IdI:awww, I am willing to give you a slack for writing this comment if you did not look at your picture before posting it. For you to say Naija men are ugly, it is appalling since it comes from someone who is a model example of what we call "wowo." Regardless of how you depict Naija men, they are still the most sought after African men. Can you say the same of Naija women? I guess not. |
aisha2:what have you done? |
No stable light, despite all our resources! That we have for the most part of our history been ruled by illiterate herdsmen! That we don't think using a deodorant is necessary, as I can't tolerate the funk that emanates from the armpits of many Nigerians. It is particularly annoying if the source of this odor is a female! That we faithfully worship the English Premier League while we embarrassingly denigrate our own league! Even though concededly our league is inefficiently run, we can at least show some more interest in our leagues. |
