TravelRe: Are Nigerian Hotels And Guest Houses Over-priced? by Princek12(m): 12:49am On Jun 25, 2010
All you people want 4 to 5 star hotels in a third-world country. Consider, these hotels, in order to provide 4 to 5 star service, have to spend substantial amounts of money to compensate for the shortfall that is caused by inadequate infrastructure.
If you guys think the high rates charged by hotels are not caused by operational costs, then mention one country that has no power and water supply, that depends on generators to practically provide 24-hr electricity, that charges these cheap rates. You guys will find that Naija's power problem is unique in its own.

Many people running their mouths here will be the same ones complaining if these hotels are minimally priced but their guests have to sleep in darkness or use a bucket and container to dispense water on their bodies when taking a shower rather than a standard shower dispenser.

There are definitely cheaper hotel options in Nigeria, but they do not offer the same amenities as the higher rated hotels. Diesel is expensive, me people, especially if you have to buy it at black market rates during a scarcity.
TravelRe: Are Nigerian Hotels And Guest Houses Over-priced? by Princek12(m): 1:06pm On Jun 24, 2010
You need to direct that sentiment to the government. Nigerian hotels are definitely not overpriced, even though for comparable services their prices are for the most part appreciably higher than prices of Western hotels, partly due to the fact that operational costs of Nigerian hotels are substantially higher than those of Western hotels.

Nigerian hotels, in order to maintain western standards such as stable light, uninterrupted clean hot and cold water, among others, have to install onsite water treatment plants, a back up generator against flickering electricity (plus another generator to backup the backup generator), and have to dig multiple deep water wells or boreholes just to pump water. On top of that, these generators have a voracious appetite for diesel, which is another substantial operational cost. That's the price to pay for doing business in Nigeria, and that which is passed on to the consumer; western hotels don't have to factor these costs into their expenses.

Abi o.
I have always wondered why none of our golden generation have been retained by any of their clubs to join the coaching staff.
The FC Barcelona community is made up of ex-players. Cryuff, Begiristain, Guardiola, Luis Enrique.
For our own boys, it's almost as if they are sent packing from these clubs.
Have you ever thought that maybe they want to return home after a long sojourn in a foreign land to help develop local football, on the administrative front and on the field?
SportsRe: Africa Needs Local Coaches e.g. Kanu - Lagerback by Princek12(m): 1:54am On Jun 24, 2010
Seun:
If Kanu has the talent for coaching, he should go into it. Administration is for administrators, not footballers.
what if you are no longer a footballer? Are you saying they can't be administrators. There you go with another rubbish Nigerian mentality.
PoliticsRe: We Have No Money To Fix Power Sector – Jebba Power Chief by Princek12(m): 1:46am On Jun 24, 2010
Obasanjo "spent" $16B to improve the power sector. If the Govt. has no money to fix the power sector, that makes for a great argument supporting the deregulation of the power sector; that way, private cos can invest their own money for profit purposes. But these malos in the senate will not support it.

This picture pretty much sums up Nigeria's performance today. In Yoruba tradition, we refer to it as "yepa"; "oriyami"'; "Olodumare"

The problem with our african players is commitment, they dont look so committed like guys from other countries.
You need a coach to motivate them to fight for the nation. How can a foreign coach motivate the players?

Did Kanu lobby his way into the starting line up, or did he deserve to be in the line up?
