The million dollar question is that has Jonathan outlined his plans to improve the Super Eagles during the 2-yr ban? How can he be sure that the Super Eagles will not be worse off after two years? He may have a good intent, but this surely an imprudent way of effectuating his intent. I didn't know Jonathan was this stupid. |
Why doesn't Jonathan suspend Nigeria from the United Nations and the international community to give us 100 years to sort things out? Mr. Jonathan, you are a fool for this one. We should work it out till find a solution. Why don't you withdraw your child from school for two years so you can sort why she is not performing well in school? Mr. Jonathan, you are a fool for this one? The right thing to do is to identify the cause of your child's problem and fix the darn problem. Why don't you suspend democracy and let us live as a headless nation until we sort out why we have foolish presidents? Mr. Jonathan, you have shown you cannot reason, and that your mentality is antiquated. The right thing to do would have been to withdraw funding from the NFF; that way, there will be no money to loot, and any new candidate with self-serving motives would be discouraged from running for any NFF position if the job description entails lobbying for money, with a capped salary contingent on funds raised, which will be controlled by an intermediate third party accounting firm, and which will be transparent. |
Meldrick:So according to your logic, it is permissive for the president of the country to appoint the coach and players. Did the Fed Govt. provide the NFF with everything they needed or provided the Eagles with everything they needed? So what is the problem? And if you diagnose the problem, how do you fix it? Please think with your brain, not with your emotions. |
beeke:I concur with the other guy--those who are supporting the ban are all fools, big fools for that matter. How can you develop a team that is not allowed to participate in international competitions? Why don't you disband the NFF administration, since they are the root of the problems? If there is a problem, you diagnose the problem and fix it. Now tell me, was participating in international competitions the problem? |
We need a long term, sustainable solution to the footblall crisis in Nigeria, and withdrawing the National team from participating is not the answer. If the Feds were agitated about the funds it spent on the NFF, it should have stopped funding the NFF, so NFF members will have no money to loot, which will invariably discourage those who don't love the game from running for a position in the NFF. We should seek funding from the privacy sector, so that NFF can be independent from government. The NFF administration will have to lobby for fund from the private sector, proceeds that will be placed in an escrow account monitored by an independent agency. All this measures will guarantee sustainability. |
Just when I thought Jonathan had some sense; I guess I was wrong. Why ban the Super Eagles for two years when you are trying to build a team? What Jonathan has done is akin to withdrawing your child from school for two years because of your child's poor performance in school, while trying to figure out what went wrong with your child within those two years. Well, the problem will be worse in two years because they would not compete in the next Cup of Nations. Then why commingle politics with football anyways. Mehn! Naija don tire me. |
manmustwac:First of all before you open your big mouth to say something, why don't you ask for the answer of something about which you have no clue rather than suggest an answer to us. According to Biblical principles, on which Christians believe, God did not mean that prayer be used in and of itself, but that Christians pray in conjunction with hard work and wise planning, such as it would be done by a wise man. According to Matthew 26:41, God has said "watch and pray" that ye not fall into temptation. Also, Proverbs, a Book that is replete with encouraging wise behavior, has repeatedly said that a wise man will plan ahead of harvest. For example, among many other quotations, Proverbs 6:6 provides that an unwise man should observe an ant, consider her prudent ways, and mimic that which is done by the ant in order to be wise. Flowing from those doctrines, the Bible has made it clear that praying alone without adequate preparation, just like the Super Eagles have done, will lead to abject failure. An ant does not wait till the eleventh hour to gather his food; it plans ahead of time, and the Bible has encouraged foolish folks to learn from the ant. The principle derived from "watch and pray" also provides that Christians be vigilant while praying, for a unilateral act of praying, absent a watchful act and vigilance, will dilute the efficacy of the prayers. And if you ask me, I believe the prayer helped the Super Eagles. If not for prayer, Argentina would have walloped the Super Eagles at least 5-0, but prayer saved us from the embarrassment that the Argentines would have inflicted upon us. But because Super Eagles prepared woefully for the competition, such as hiring an incompetent Amodu and hiring a new coach five months to the World Cup, prayer will only get them so far. And it did--it saved us from a national embarrassment. |
I remember this gbegiri and tuwo joint with cow leg at Bank Olemoh street in Surulere. Chei, that food sweet die. My advice for these cheapos looking for 20 Naira rice and beef stew and 5 Naira meat in Lagos, you are going to eat food that will kill you that same day. A word is enough for the wise, my brodas & sistas. Even a lot of those places will sell you fake pure water. |
Sagamite:You are not understanding my argument. When I mean fresh, I mean introduce new players into the team to replace the non performing, unfocused, and unfit ones. To perform well, one needs to introduce fresh players, if and only if the current players (lets say not fresh) are not performing well. One can perform well if you use players from youth teams, like Ghana, but the players who performed woefully at this World Cup are the old ones. Even though Amodu used some players from the youth teams, there were some players who needed to be axed out of that team but, for some reason, he kept on using them. I don't get it. Yakubu, Shittu, Etuhu, Yobo, among others did not deserve to be on that team, in my opinion. If certain players in your current squad are not performing well, a good coach will replace them. Yakubu, Shittu, Yobo, Etuhu, for example, should have all been replaced. You said the errors was due to lack of concentration on the pitch. Have you ever thought that it is the coach who selects the players who go on the field and fail to concentrate. This problem of concentration, among the other problems like fitness, had been evident all along, but Amodu still used the same players. He should have replaced them with "fresh" players, that is new players who had never played on the team, but who are fit and will concentrate. He at least could have given them a chance. |
Sagamite:The purpose of youth teams is to discover young talent, but not at the expense of other reliable players from the local leagues and foreign leagues who may be off the radar. A good coach will scout for such talents and find them. Ghana are using many players from their U20 team, but they are blended with fit veterans. Why do we have our local professional leagues? There maybe some talented players who for other reasons could not participate in the youth tournament. Amodu is using unfit veterans when he could have replaced them with new fit players. Capello is not using fresh players, so that explains why his team performed marginally well and are out of the competition. Yobo is an unfit player. You have said it that he lost his place due to some errors, errors associated with an aging defender who is becoming unfit. And also by losing his starting place he will be invariably unfit for a match, but no, Amodu, like the fool he is, still started him. And Yobo made costly errors before he was benched at Everton. |
Sagamite "Sorry? Because Siasia has used them, they are no more fresh? What do you want? For him to go and bring someone from his village farm? Or he should manufacture players where there is none? Why would he not use Yobo?" Yes, they are no more fresh because Siasia used them. He does not have to go to his village farm to find players; he can go to the local leagues, tap into our current in th 2009 and 2007 U-17 talent; he can enlist other Nigerian players in Europe who have been ignored. Amodu is too lazy to do all that, and he had time. There are players, and he does not need to manufacture players. Everyone who has knowledge, and who has played competitive football, will know that Yobo is not fit. That's why he is not a regular fixture at Everton. Bottomline, Amodu is incompetent for sticking with the same players knowing they struggled. All he had to do was make minor changes here and there, but no, that lazy buffoon kept using the same players without having them fight for a shirt on the team. That is plain stupid. |
Everybody ready your guns, for it may be time to go to war. Time to stop talking. Enough is enough. Phuck these Northerners if they are unwilling to respect democracy and freedom of Nigerians. Do your worst. Let's go to war. |
HA ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO LWKMD Yakubu Highest Goal Scorer!!!!!! HA ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha a |
Sagamite:None of those guys are fresh. They had been used by Siasia. My point is he should have looked for new players in the areas that the present crops were under performing. Amodu is too lazy to discover his new guys that had not been used before. Why was he still using Yobo? |
Amodu killed the Eagles. He had time to build a formidable team, but no, he kept using the same players who have peaked, and he refused to infuse fresh talent into the team. He is a fool. How can a sane person use the same useless players day in and day out for two years. He is a typical malo. Siasia builds his team. Even John Obuh is a good coach. Amodu is buffoon. |
I am begin to get increasingly frustrated by how these Northerners think they own Nigeria, and how they put their own self-serving interests ahead of national interests. These malos. Shouldn't each candidate (whether from the North or South) have the right to contest in an election, and let the candidate who receives the most votes win the election? And for this to come from Jubril Aminu, a professor, shows you how these malos think. How I hope Nigeria should split so they can rule themselves. |
Hausa people please get the hell out of NFF. Please stop this "affirmative action" in the selection process of our national team. Sani Lulu Abdullahi get out of NFF. You guys' decision have killed Nigerian soccer. You instruct coaches to feature Hausa people even when they are not good enough. Hausa people refuse to appoint Siasia but appointed Amodu because Amodu is a malo, when it is clear that Siasia is better than Amodu. Now, you want to extend Largerback's contract, when he clearly told you guys that African coaches are better for African teams. Again, you have a second opportunity to appoint Siasia, but you are now thinking about hiring Eguavoen, all because Siasia refuses to institute an affirmative action policy in his selection process. Oh God, I am just mad. |
Call me whatever, but Hausas have messed up Naija. Yes. I said it. |
ROCK-J:I hope Dubai and Canada ban them, too. Why must they seek enjoyment in other countries with stolen funds, when they can develop their homeland with the said stolen funds? |
Iceugwa:Another rubbish Nigerian mentality. So when did speaking your opinion (albeit inconsistent with that of your elders) become disrespecting your elders. The more Nigerians share your mentality, the less we are going to progress, for it simply silences the valuable opinions of young people, all because they should "respect" their elders. |
From the way it looks, beating Ghana is simple--do not concede any penalty kicks. Ghana is yet to score without the aid of a penalty, which is very worrisome. I hope Ghana wins, support to my fellow Africans. |
IRAPADA:foreigner wey dey pump money they get advertisement in return for their money. I am not advocating a complete ouster of immigrants, but I think they should defiinitely field more Italian citizens, just like I would advocate Nigerian leagues fielding more Nigerians. Right is right, even when it seemingly appears to be against your own interest. |
Vincent 4:i concur |
ROCK-J:Why is not immigrants? When top Italian teams field mostly immigrants, how are their own Italian players expected to experience top league soccer? It is about time these Europeans start scapegoating immigrants, especially African immigrants, maybe it will shame us enough to start developing our country and continent as well as our local leagues. |
no wonder Cameroon performed woefully at this W cup. This guy is at least 45 |
Kobojunkie:First, could you mention the other groups in Nigeria that practice rotational government along tribal lines? Second, this one in particular is serious because it deals with the presidency, the most important position in any country. The person who assumes presidency should, presumably, be the most qualified person for the job. Any agreement that could subvert the process of sitting the most qualified should be met with suspicion and disdain. Why should the idea of rotational presidency come up in the first place? Anyone who supports such an idea is putting their selfish deeds ahead of national welfare, for in essence that idea supports a situation where a tribal group should be given the presidency even when they put forth a candidate who is unqualified. Such self serving ideologies is inconsistent with achieving a greater Nigeria, and Nigeria might as well split so those who support rotational presidency can govern themselves. |
You would think they will still be lamenting about their abysmal performance at the World Cup! |
Eagles in champagne party after crash By Tony ubani, in South Africa Friday, June 25, 2010 AT a time that Nigerians are still gritting their teeth over the dismal performance of the Eagles in South Africa in the on-going World Cup, Sports Vanguard can reveal that the players celebrated their ouster with champagne in Durban. Nigeria needed a win over South Korea to sail through to the second round after Argentina had beaten Greece 2-0. But the Nigerian players floundered opportunities with Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Obafemi Martins the chief culprits. Even as Nigerians mourned the exit of the Eagles, the players showed no remorse over their defeat as they went out on a champagne party in Durban. Very reliable sources who attended the show of shame confirmed to Sports Vanguard that many people could not believe that the players who held their heads in pretence at the end of the match were the ones popping champagnes in the night. A very high official who would not want his name in print described the party as the highest act of irresponsibility by the players. It is not the first time that Nigerian players would fumble in big competitions and go partying. Greece 2-0. Kobojunkie:I agree that there is no constitutional provision supporting a rotational presidency. I also do understand that members of PDP agreed to support candidacy based on a rotational basis. If that is the case, why should we support such divisive policies, even if it is within the confines of the PDP party? |
Kobojunkie:What is really your point? Are you supporting a presidential system based on a rotational basis--that is, for example, only Northern candidates can contest in a particular election while candidates from other regions cannot contest, and vice versa? |
The UK should follow suit by banning and/or deporting his kids and wives; the children, while not responsible for the sins of their father, MUST surely pay the price for benefiting from the fruits of an ill gotten wealth. That way, these bastard politician thieves will think twice about stealing when they know that they have no safe haven in the UK or US or overseas in general/ |
If you are hardworking and cherish a place that will provide you with the opportunity to strike it rich, come to Yankee; but if you like to do manual labor such as cleaning toilets and mopping floors, go to UK. There are way more successful Nigerians in the USA than UK. Food is also more expensive in UK than USA. USA also is bigger and has more cities and places to be than UK. USA is the shizniz. But if you don't have your papers, you go suffer for Yankee ooooo |
