Happinesssss: Good morning everyone, and gurus in the house .....
Please I got admission to Concordia university of Edmonton to study Biological sciences, but am currently writing my SOP for my visa but finding it difficult to explain why am studying this course.
Actually I choose biology because I wanted to use it as a pathway to nursing, since I applied to 5 schools in Canada for nursing but my application got rejected even after passing ielts and Casper test. ....well I guess I was rejected because I have 4years gap study and there is a valid reason for that which I explained to the schools in details.
Well, the thing is that I was thinking of telling the Visa officer that I will be using the course as a pathway to nursing....or any other advise I can get from you guys.
OR
Should I just apply and write something else on my SOP without mentioning the fact that I will be changing to another course, . ..or will my application get rejected.
Please I need advice What was your initial field of study and what were you doing during your four years gap? I don’t think studying biological sciences is the easiest path to studying nursing. Also are you trying to do a Bsc? |

Busayootegbeye: Good morning! Please I need your guidance. I have applied for study permit and have been requested to go for medicals. However, I had taken this medical test before the request came up. After reading ircc page, I just assumed they will see it but I checked my profile and saw a message that they are yet to receive my medical results. I have gone ahead to submit the medical form using webform now. Will that suffice? That should suffice but you can also mail to Nairobi, London. Worked for me |

SweetJJ: Hi, yes your spouse needs to do medical for SOWP. However if you want a short stay visa it should be VV you will need to apply for and he does not need medical if the stay will be less than 6months. Honestly, I really don't know how to show your spouse will return because in my VV application that was refused we showed everything like one month leave letter from work and all, aged parents to care for yet it was refused. I learned the new portal uses AI (Chinook or whatever they call it), hence the high refusal rate.
I don't know your reason for wanting your spouse to return however, when applying for sowp, it's best to say he will come to work to support you while you school, whatever he decides to do after they grant him his sowp is totally up to him.
For forms, when you apply for work permit as spouse of international student and fill your information, it will give you the compulsory documents you need to submit, another however is that most time the mandatory forms are barely enough. So you need to merge the other documents as a pdf and submit in the optional documents section.
Finally, I suggest you apply for SOWP in the gckey even when you are still here, who knows he may get it and who also knows things may change in the future and he decides to work and not leave Canada.
All the best! Very apt! |

Why has she not paid any tuition even in part if the funds are available, this might begin to look suspicious to the VO. Also every school I know requires the payment of tuition at least in part which is usually due quite early. Some info have been left out in this explanation CAD2019: Hi everyone, please this is URGENT... My kid sister arrived Canada on a student visa yesterday and the immigration officer requested to see all her documents including her tuition receipt. Unfortunately she doesn't have any as it was only her application fees that was paid. As a result of that the immigration officer didn't issue her study permit but told her to come back today..
is it compulsory to pay the full tuition before landing Canada ?
As a proof she can pay the tuition fees if my mum writes a letter of authorization and my sister login to my mum's(sponsor's) bank statement and show them the balance which is about $40000 will it be ok?
Any advice/suggestion is welcome.TIA |

ActivatedDreams: Good day, please house does a one year masters program gives 2 yrs PGWP ? And if No, can I apply for a one year Masters program and after completion IMMEDIATELY apply for a Graduate certificate program in a college making a total of two years will I get 3yrs PGWP,
I’m asking this because the program I’m more interested in are concentrated program in Engineering and they are 1 yr.
Please you can also suggest a way to go about this thanks. I studied Electrical and computer Engineering and I’m interested in M.Eng telecommunication Engineering. Not sure it works that way, you will still be eligible to only one year PGWP as they are unrelated |

On the new portal, there are a lot of options..I am confused Hence ,my question My advice for you will be to go to the old portal and apply for SOWP |

Creativebelle: Hello Everyone ,
I have a question..
What do I select for purpose of travel on the new portal if my husband is accompanying Me to resume school and will be returning.
Thank you all. Purpose of travel can be to help you settle as you travel to a new location and he will be helping you with the transition. You may state he has a job or business to return to with a leave letter approved for that duration. In my case my spouse stated I will return but will be visiting regularly. VO cancelled my visitor visa application and requested I apply for SOWP |

kiari: No dey give wrong information oooo When Medicals is not Police Character Certificate…. Medicals is valid for 1 year and There is an appointed hospital or clinic in each county.
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/medical-exams.html Sincerely you guys are the ones who are not clear and need to read properly. Medical is tied to geographical location and it cannot be argued. But if individual here chooses to be in an unsure situation rather than just spend a 50k or less to secure a visa it is entirely up to such an individual.

Since you did your Medical abroad, and since then you have spent some time in Nigeria, my candid advice will be for you to book another Medical ASAP. Medical is tied to geographical exposure to diseases Trailblazer21: So guys after sending this few hours ago here, I received a medical request from IRCC just now but my medicals is still valid as can be seen in the photo below.
Secondly I had my medicals done in another country earlier this year do you think they just want me to redo it? Also I thought since my medicals was passed in the first application, it should also be passed.
Lastly, if I’m to send my e-medical sheet to ircc, how do I do it email or web form? To Nairobi or china?
When sending the e-medical sheet, should I add a letter of explanation or just send the form like that? |

sheyi69: Yooo
I've been largely a lurker here but I garnered enough information to do it myself. I just got my PPR on my 3ed attempt. Timeline:
1st Application: October 10 2020, very lame application. Was overconfident after applying to the US and UK myself without rejections. Didn't do my homework properly. Had 3 grounds for rejection including: - Poor relationship with sponsor (Uncle without the same last name) - Unreasonable study plan - Purpose of visit
2nd Application: May 28 2021. Mitigated all but one of the officer's concerns. The officer had concerns that my sponsor's (mum) account had lump deposits. To be honest, they don't understand how a typical business person in Nigeria runs their account.
3rd Application: February 18 2022. Decided to leave no stone unturned. Paid the rest of the tuition and purchased a GIC. Then a really long wait. Started to stress my MP's office, which was of immense help. Got an ADR for another medical examination on June 10th. Exactly one year after the previous medical examination expired. Medical passed June 30th. PPR this morning.
Overview of successful application: Submitted on new portal February 18 2022 Medical request June 10th PPR July 21st.
Can't wait to leave Congratulations! How do you contact MP |

Timaiko: Bro apply for a two year diploma in something like Aircraft Structures or Avionics and say this is where you want to specialize...
Thanks again buddy.
I did Bs. Aeronautics so, I've been having issues with getting the right 2-yr PGD course. except for Advance Diploma with bachelor's degree as pre-requisite. Another thing is If I get a 1-year PGD, can I continue with another PGD upon finishing the first 1-year PDG?, just to enable the 3-yr work permit?
Thank you. |

jogojogo: I could sensed that IRCC no longer want to issue Visitor's Visa to spouses of International Student. I see no reason why there is a move against your choice to Visitor's visa requesting you apply for SOWP as if they have attended to the numerous request on queue.... Omase o for IRCC I find that strange too, I stated in my SOP that I only want to visit my spouse and the kids periodically as my job provides me the flexibility. |

My Spouse applied for Study Permit, I applied for VV so I could visit during my breaks and VV for two of our kids.
Spouse and Kids got Medical Submission request, mine got “canceled”.
Later got note on the portal requesting I should apply for work permit.
Has anyone experienced this, do I have to wait for Spouse Study Permit to be granted before applying for Work Permit that I really don’t need at the moment.
Initial application was on the new portal and I noticed work permit is only on the old portal, can these two applications be linked? |
