That's pretty cool. You are one heck of a rare gem. While I love both the junior and senior citizens, I find caring for both a tasking process. The never ending " I want to pee, poo and drink water" make me thankful child minding isn't what I do for a living . As if those are what they live for . For the seniors, having to listen to same stories over and over again while pretending the story is fresh is a torture My friend's children and my grandma are legends. I can't imagine taking on a job that makes it my livelihood.

I know a lot of employers are looking for you because only a few genuinely love this. Only a few would love to run after juniors all day keeping them clean, healthy and safe and still asking for more. Only even fewer would enjoy sitting on the laps of the seniors to listen to same stories over and over again let alone being their nanny. You could Google homes for the aged and send a lot of applications. There was even one here at some point. You could do same to crèches around you too.


If you don't have any experience but just love the idea of it biko go and practice a bit. This is to prep you on the yams the job isn't... trust me its a lot of work. Also, because most people see this honourable job as a mere nanny job, the pay is usually low. Unless you get a well established set up to work with, care givers in Naija don't earn much. Of course, most of them end up with people who would eventually take out their lack of financial fulfilment on their wards.

For instance, I'm at a park right now. The young girl that sweeps the premises is quarreling with one of drivers. This man is old enough to be her father. I don't know what they are quarreling about but she has confronted him severally, spoke directly to his face, pointed fingers aggressively, picked up one of the dirty fanta bottles and stoned him with it, all the time screaming at the top of her voice. Other drivers have pleaded with her to take it easy that they will give her her share ( i dont know what her share is) but she has blatantly refused to stop. All these while the driver has been leaning against the wall and watching her, not sayinf a word. It is obvious je is exercising self-restraint cos he doesnt want to get in trouble.

If they were alone and he loses his temper and gives her a black eye, shebi we will all be screaming for his head?

It is only fair to hear both sides of the story. Did she strike him first, maybe they were engagedin an argument and she slapped him and he retaliated? I'm not in support of men beating women but I have seen women behave very badly especially to these drivers because they fell they are better than them. Many of these young girls say very stüpid things and even are the first to lash out cos they think they will get away with it.

Why will the police tell her to settle it outside of there isnt more to the story?

Hello, pls I need constructive advice. Recently my husband has become quite close with my single neighbour. I didn't really mind till I discovered when he comes home from work he goes straight to her apartment for some time before coming upstairs to our home, most times they come home together or he is outside gisting with her.
