Nairaland / General / Re: Huge Python Killed Behind My House Yesterday by Prognose: 3:05pm On Mar 24, 2020
That's a python . They are not poisonous. Neither is it big enough to strangle or eat you.

From the markings it looks like a ball python. They are COMPLETELY harmless and very shy of humans.

You just killed a beautiful defenceless animal.

You better eat it. Cos killing it and throwing it away would be totally wasteful and completely wicked of you.

LANDLORD72:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Corona is a large virus. The diameter of the virus is 400-500
micro, so that any type of mask can prevent entry into our
bodies and does not need to use expensive masks.
2. Corona virus does not float in the air, but sticks to objects,
so that transmission is not through the air.
3. When attached to a metal surface, the corona virus can live
for 12 hours. Washing hands with soap and water is enough.
4. When attached to a cloth, the corona virus can live for 9
hours, so washing clothes or drying it in the sun for 2 hours is
enough to kill it.
5. When attached to the hand, the corona virus can live for 10
minutes, so that it provides an alcohol-based _sterilizer_
enough to be on guard.
6. When in the air at temperatures 26-27 ° C, the corona virus
will die so it does not live in hot areas. In addition, drinking
hot water and basking in the sun is enough as a precaution.
Avoiding cold foods and drinks including ice cream is very
important.
7. Gargling to deep with warm water and salt will kill the
corona virus around the pharynx (landslide - Jw.) And prevent
it from entering the lungs.
Following these instructions is enough to prevent the corona
virus.

Dear, sorry for what happened, i think two of you got it wrong at different points. From your narration, it is his birthday. He is suppose to be happy all through the day but he felt like you want to spoil his day at the tail end of it when he want to end the day with very nice sex. Though i know both of you are adult, you are still at sexually active age and also married newly so expect sex frequently.
He got is wrong by beating you for saying know. Sex is not by force. The first slap could be accidental, the second slap is premeditated and planned. Having gone out of the room, he should have endured it. For men, if the urge for sex comes and you did not have it, some men find it difficult to sleep well. Once white semen is coming out from his penis and his under wear wet, some men get uncontrolled and randy. Sex does not last long, take years or need special preparation, you could have allowed him. You may not enjoy the sex but just allow him to hop in and hop out, it does not take time for him to cum. That sex would have given you a sound sleep too. This is not to justify the man's action. He is totally wrong. He is the bossy type that believes that his word is authority. He don't need anybody's opinion to run his family even from his wife. Understand this man very well to be able to live with him peacefully.
You were wrong in the sense that you slapped him back. He see It as affront and insult. That is where you got it all wrong. You could have cried all night. When he see you crying till morning, he will come with apology and will never bit you again. This time, you are making your family a war zone.
What you are to do now is to calm down and come down from where you are. Come low. Swallow the pride, tell him you are sorry, tell him that he offended you too and tell him how he offended you. Do not say it with a hoarse voice rather a very sweet voice. Resolve to give him sex within you non stop every day for like 7 days. It will shock you how he will change towards you. Do not be surprise that he will take you out or buy for you something expensive for you.
Sorry for bugging you. Pls do know that in marriage, you marry personality but you live with character. Let me make it clear. You can marry a banker, a teacher, a trader, a lawyer, a priest etc, they are all personality but you live a person's character. For instance, you may be married to a Doctor called Ngozi, you are living with the character of Ngozi but you are married to a personality called Doctor.
The earlier we know this, the better for us. Happy married life.

You're too smart for this forum kiss

If he had agreed for the sex to happen later, it would have been the begining of sex postponement and eventually lack of sex over flimsy reasons in the marriage

She most likely did this with a single cut to the face with a sharp cutlass while he was likely deep asleep. The reason...might just be he has been battering her all along like you wish. Stop supporting nonsense oga. Violence does not solve issues that require mental work. Use your head instead.

The woman is a drug addict. She was a nurse working in the same fmc with him but she was addicted to pain killers (pentazocine). Her husband tried to get her off the addiction but she kept falling back. On the third attempt, she discharged herself from the drug rehab center an abandoned her home to be with her thug friends. She couldn't get the pentazocine again from the hospital so she resorted to using street drugs.

On that day her husband was coming out of somewhere when he bumped into her. She told her thug friends that this was the husband and they should kill him. They pounced on him and beat him to stupor then held him down while she cut his face up. The husband passed out from the pain and they thought he was dead. She now called his mother to come and pick his corpse up then they left. As soon as they left people rushed and carried him to hospital. That was how he survived. He will be scarred for life.

Chief get well soon sir. Look very well next time before you leap. You should have asked more questions from her colleagues. Unfortunately we don't have the traditional African method of investigating a person anymore. Too bad.

Kenoxman:
This is where u are required to act as the man. Getting emotional about the whole issue just like ur wife will ruin everything. Quit being emotional and device a practical way of solving ur marital problems. Real men are problem-solvers. And it takes a real man to build his family. Forget about whatever she had said. Women will always say hurtful things without considering the implication, that's their nature. Sit ur wife down and have a heart-to-heart talk with her. Maybe u've been overbearing all this while without knowing. Allow her to make suggestions on how to make things start working again. Then find a common ground between her opinion and urs. Relationship such as marriage is built on compromise. No marriage is perfect and most marriages just like any endeavour suffer many challenges from the beginning. Ur ability to manage these challenges will determine the longivity of such endeavours. U will grow past this phase if u are willing to work together.

@hybrid77

Nothing more to add.

Except, you should know that the courts do not grant divorce until 2yrs after the marriage. This is to give you the opportunity to make things work or scatter the thing irrevocably.

I will be the first to tell you that the first few years aren't easy. You are both adjusting to living together in close quarters. Not easy at all but for the marriage to work both of you must adapt.

Ignore whatever she said. Women have a way of saying the worst things. If you follow their mouth you will just get bp for nothing. If u turn into the man she loves tomorrow you will see how her mouth will change. Na so Dem be.

From the text messages you posted these are the issues.

1. You are bossy. You like having things your way or not at all. This cannot work in marriage, let me just tell you. Even if you're talking that she should submit , you want your wife to submit with love, not because she feels she must. It is better for you on the long run. Humility never hurt anyone and experience from making mistake is the best teacher. Allow her do things her way (be humble) and if it doesn't work she will learn (experience).

2. She is rude and uncouth. The tone from her message shows a rude person. Unfortunately girls can be like this too. And it is very very annoying for the man especially when she feels entitled and you have done so much for her. Let her know that you have heard what she said and will make changes but you dont like her tone of voice. She should be more polite, more respectful in her utterances. Women don't understand that men enjoy sweet words too. Teach her with play how to use sweet words to pass her message across.

Most of all be patient. Give her her space and you too chill a bit. You guys can work it out.

Cheers.

I'd also like to know that of antibiotics.

You might be right. There was a time I used someone else's towel.

Looking for to your response on the feedbacks provided.

So I got banned and my post was deleted. I guess you can't make prescriptions on nairaland? I dunno.

Look for the hypoallergenic creams in cosmetic shops.

As for the antibiotics, try third generation cephalosporins for 14 days. Look it up.
Also I advised u take antifungals for three months non-stop.
The rash will definitely clear if your consistent with these.

Mods hope I didn't break any rules? Abeg no vex.

Here are pictures of my right & left palm.

It's clear. So that rules out a syphylitic rash.

I'll go with a follicular dermatitis. A full blood count test will should show elevated neutrophils. If I were seeing you I would prescribe antibiotics for 14 days then use a hypoallergenic cream (the normal Vaseline petroleum jelly does wonders but you can choose any hypoallergenic cream of your choice, it's sold in supermarkets, written on the label) for six months.
It might also be tinea corporis. That's a fungal infection. It's not as circumscribed as I'd like but then I dont know if your camera caught it very clearly. Is it on your face and back as well?

Also tinea corporis would itch... Still, antifungals for 3months wouldn't hurt.

There's nothing like seeing the person physically so as to look at the rash up close. We're only seeing bits and pieces.

Something would have happened when this rash first came up three years ago. Exposure to some metal or cloth that someone else wore /towel someone else was using/ working in the/walking through the bush/vegetation in the daytime and not taking a bath that night, etc. Something would have triggered the event. Only you can let us know about that.
Cheers.

Nothing is wrong with my palms. What does it look like if at all it's showing on the palm and feet ?

@melasma usually occurs on the face of pregnant women or those who are taking contraceptives. It is not widespread like this.

If it was reaction to sulphunamides like someone else suggested, that one either presents as isolated large circumscribed rashes or full blown steven-johnson's syndrome. So it's not that either.

I would have gone with the syphilitic rashes if u had said it is also on the palm of your hands. You didn't snap your palms for us to see so we can't know.

Another idea could be seborrhoeic dermatitis. But it appears like a follicular lesion.

The best thing to do would be to get a second opinion from another dermatologist.

Doctors In The House Please What's Solutions To This?

Have a friend who have been battling with rough palm for long now.

According to her, it happens like 8 years ago. She used to have a normal palm, until a particular day she helped someone to applied Relaxer without gloves. Ever since then, her palm started peeling and cracking causing her severe pains and pricks.
She taught it was just something that will go away in few days, but till date making 8 years she's been experiencing crack, hard and and peeling palm.
It get worse every harmattan seasons, there are days she can't eat she had to be fed by someone due to the pains.

she has applied all sort of treatment but they're not effective.

She said she has been to a clinic once but they couldn't specify what's wrong with her, they only gave her some drugs which ended up not being effective.

Please anyone with similar experience should please share whatever treatment they applied.

Doctors in the house, please your help is needed.

Please help me push it to front-page for wider audience.

Exfoliative keratolysis following chemical trauma to the upper epidermis of the palms.

The areas that keep peeling off are areas that have scarified tissue whose cells cannot keep up with the normal skin cell proliferation.

Any other trauma will cause the skin to peel e.g dry weather, harsh detergents, creams, soaps, fragrant cosmetics, etc.

Treatment is so simple I can bet $100 you won't try it.

Treatment is to buy blue seal Vaseline. Rub it morning and evening to keep the palm moisturised and protected from the elements. I didn't say you should buy moisturizers as most of them contain fragrances and are waterbased and thus will dry off. Use Blue-seal Vaseline, the unperfumed one ONLY. Morning and Evening for 3months.

But you won't do this cos you're looking for some complicated treatment and you're getting this counsel for free.

Peace.
