Cosjo:i just told you yes. What im tryn to point out is that from your idea of a dealer, i have to be selling on Nairaland. I got my license for a different reason. If i decide to inclede Nairaland, then fine. If not, fine. Selling to Nigeria still takes longer. Shipping, clearing etc. So i cant speak for anyone else. And if you dont have ppl that will handle things the way you want why do it? Or you just want me to prove to yuu that im a dealer, hence i have to sell on Nairaland or sell in nigeria? |
Cosjo:For the fact that u are a car dealer doesnt say you have to sell to Nigeria. Does it. Is there any law that you have to post on Nairaland to prove that you are a dealer? If you are a journalist, do you have to be employed by a Newspaper or Media house to prove that you are a juornalist? Cant you be an independent journalist and sell your story or research results? Quit talking like you are a baby. Grow some brains. It will definately benefit you! Selling to Nigeria is still a risk. If you dont have ppl you can trust to handle things you send a car you wont see your investment and profit. Story go come up on the car or why they cant pay you. Doesnt it make sense for me to sell and make small profit here than be hoping for a windfall in Naija. I will do things as i see the most sensible! |
I dont sell cars in Nigeria or on this forum yet. That all i can say. |
Cosjo:Dont sell cars in Naija. at least not yet. Why you want to know? |
gentlegg:Good for your research. Let me tell you. Reality and research are different. I live here. I can guarantee you that a $700 Camry will be on its last breath of life. Will definately be more than 200,000 miles and will require a lot of repairs. It cant be in sharp condition. I live here and i have a dealers license. I will like to think i know what im talking about. You said it all "price survey". Lets see actual posting for that price. When petrol went up few months ago, a lot of fuel efficient reliable cars went waaaayyyyy up. Petrol came down little and its been goin back up now gradually. People know that. Nobody is stupid here. "Price survey" doesnt take thaty into conisderation. Its like saying a drive between Lagos and Ibadan "shouldnt be mor than 1hr or so. But what if theres an accident or theres a revival at Redeem, or Police checkpoint and you were delayed for 2hrs. Dont even start on Car truobles. REALITY AND HYPOTHESIS ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. I LIVE THE REALITY EVERY DAY! Its OK to disagree with me but if by any chance you have a used car listing for that price you mentioned please let me know. Or better, send me the link. |
gentlegg:For where? when you ship for $1200 and clear for about 140k. Thats about N284k at the old rate. How much you buy? The new rate will be about N320k. Remember this is just shipping and clearing. No cost of vehicle or profit at this point. So you need to get real cos its only about N300k left to buy and make profit. And a typical Nigerian wants a Clean Car, Leather, Low Mileage, Factory A/C, CD player etc etc. All for chump change like una steal the car here. Just my 2 cents. |
@ poster, Sorry to ask. Do you even kno how to use a camera? Have u ever seen one before. How do u explain this thing you call pictures? Redo! |
Whats the Vin? Engine bay photos. Front Photos And pls know your facts. 740iL is a V8. That cant be 22 inches wheels either. |
adamawa:You need to be realistic yourself. Nigerian Yaris is much different than US. And we are not sure if we are talking of the same trim level. By the way the car is 18k miles. Good luck. |
You need to clarify something. The car has a TEXAS plate. But theres no CENTENNIAL here in the US. I dont know if you just slap the plate there for fun. Looks like a XG300 to me. The red license plate marker and the side fender pointer is telling me that this is "probably" european vehicle I might be wrong. ![]() |
its getting rather costly to bring those types of vehicles across. They are not really cost effective anymore. Good luck in your search though. |
Nice car. That is DEFINATELY not SE Model. Check ur facts. |
Lets all face the fact. Its the CULTURE. Most ppl in Nigeria are short sighted. The cant see the big picture. A prosperous business is a thriving employee. But not in Nigeria. With the culture that embraces the adage of "oga ta, oga o ta, Owo alaru ape" What do you expect? For non-Yoruba speakers, The adage literarily mean, The slave/worker will get paid irrespective of the master's business success. Go figure. |
Im pretty sure u can. The question is that waht shape? As far as i know, most ppl who use the in naija now (especially the 60's models) use the for towing. They are usually in pretty bad shape and worst still they probably will have a converted engine to something like a nissan patrol or so engine. My suggestion is that u might have a better luck with something like a defender 90 or 110. Some clean ones are still running around. Some ppl actually use the for private use. As opposed to the older ones u are looking for. Good luck. |
Kongi:I believe it. You must be talking of the TDI diesel engines. The CRX "HF" are rated at 50 miles to the gallon (petrol) but you know the efficiency goes down as the car ages and i drive avg of 80miles/hr in that little HF thing. But i love it tho. ![]() |
Honda Civic CRX/City. got one. Average 40 miles to 1 gallon (Thats about 16.91km to liter) Been driving one everyday for about 2yrs now here in California. I drive about 150km daily roundtrip. So may be i know. The CRX model is called the "HF" model. Very hard to find but worth it |
no effect. Its not different from you parking your car in the house without driving for a long time. |
Otegarh:I dont sell vehicles but that year of 2002-2005 for N500k is nearly impossible. Wake up and be realistic. Good luck! |
The last 2 ideas are really improbable. Once the initial deal is illegal, it doesnt matter how much tape recording or evidence against the guy. You lost this one. Live and learn. |
@ RMI, Get the whole thing. The whole engine as it comes out of the car. Better if gear is attached though but not compulsory. |
Left to me. I will say this money is gone. Unless hes a full fledge dealer, how do you expect to pay him in pieces and still get the car. The money is long spent. Like the say around here: Money gone! Sorry to break it to you. Or may be Miracle do happen. Good luck. |
eooduyebo:Whats ur interest rate wt diamondbank? |
Ok. We'll be looking forward. Happy New Year. |
@ Poster, Any particular make/model. What about year etc?. I have to tell you now that the year really makes a difference. Those trucks brand new can run upwards from $150,000 - $200,000. I am talking brand new tho. So you must be specific on the choice(s) of vehicle. Cant promise you anything but you dont know whose reading. Good luck |
@ Wokess, Pls feed us back on results. Thanks |
@ Jany49, You can email me. I am not a shipper but can point you in the right direction. i am in Southern California. Corona/Riverside/Orange County. Good Luck. |
Sometimes i think ppl dont wanna divulge info |
Good Topic ![]() |
its very obvoius that the picture was set up. Tha cars were parked almost at an angle to each other. Dont you know that both cars can actually belong to the same people? Its not a big deal. Just lighten up. |
I can hear the Acura say: "When i grow up, ![]() |
